We've no time for JSing. We're battling green nappies, sleepless nights, x-box playing men and trying to hide our sling addictions. Fuck it, let's do a runner on a golf cart.

A lovely thread for all the JS Grad Grads to chat feeding, sleep and post-birth STUFF.

zyla that's like me. I am terrible at throwing stuff away. MrWil also has a mess rant occasionally Juni. Usually he stomps about shouting, cleans the kitchen and then apparently thinks this makes him amazing and his work is done for the next month.

Haha Pis that sounds like much more my style.

Does anyone do a dream feed successfully? Micro does a stretch of about 4 1/2 hours at the start of the night. Then 2 1/2, then it all descends into shit. I could really do with the longest stretch being in the middle of the night so that I get it too but scared if I wake her for a dream feed, she'll just wake up 2 hours later anyway.

JuniDD · 07/05/2015 08:53

ha wil exactly the same here. He cleaned out the medicine cupboard in the kitchen last night with much banging and clanging. Not sure how one tiny cupboard being orderly helps but if it makes him happy...Hmm

My baby is so grumpy...and I let her bang her head today. Blush

JuniDD · 07/05/2015 08:58

It's worth trying a dream feed. Makes no difference here and just pisses me off! But it has worked sometimes (she occasionally wakes at half ten)

WilHarlot · 07/05/2015 16:56

Easily done juni, what did she bang it on?

Yeah it never worked with MiniWil. Mm shall think about it.

ZylaB · 07/05/2015 18:41

We don't do one wil but she won't settle to sleep properly before 9.30 at the earliest! That said she does a nice long stretch them so I can't complain.

Pisghetti · 08/05/2015 00:11

We decided to let MrP have a go at giving B a bottle of EBM. She drank it. I feel betrayed by my own baby Shock

I'm not sure what a dream feed is - do you wake them up to feed? B usually has her last one at 11-12 then is awake at 3-4 and again at 6-7 but will then sleep until about 10 so we sleep in most mornings.

WilHarlot · 08/05/2015 05:54

Fuck my life. This one just will not sleep. Went to bed from 7.15 until 12 and then has slept about two hours since then. How can she be over three months and still so shit at this?

ZylaB · 08/05/2015 06:50

Brew for you wil :(. I have no idea what to suggest, I know we're just lucky that H has sorted herself out a bit even if she won't go down until late (was 11pm last night)

JuniDD · 08/05/2015 08:32

Aw wil, 7.15 to 12 is still a good 4.5 hours though! When BabyJ was doing this I happened to see a breastfeeding lady who said that eventually that long sleep in the early evening will stretch out. It's not quite like that as she usually wakes at 1.30 and 4.30 (but did 3.30 and 5.30 then up at 7am today) but she now does a solid six hours, sometimes seven and occasionnaly eight.

I pulled the baby up to the table in her highchair without the tray, not thinking she could lean so far forward to headbutt the table. But she could and she did.

pis dream feed would be picking them up when asleep and putting them straight on/bottle or nappy change to rouse them then feed back to sleep.

WilHarlot · 08/05/2015 09:04

It is good at start of the night and it's fine if she does that and goes to bed at nine because then I can sleep too. But there's no way I can go to bed at 7.30! I'm wrecked. If she falls asleep so early tonight I'm going to wake her at ten to see if it helps. God I wish she'd take a bottle before bed.

WilHarlot · 08/05/2015 09:07

Don't beat yourself up about head bang, she'll do way worse things to herself in her lifetime Grin .

JuniDD · 08/05/2015 09:28

I intend to be more careful in future!

I'd go to bed that early two nights running to get on top of it. Is she crying after 12 or just wide awake? I did a mercy dash last night to NCT buddy who was flying solo with a poorly wakeful baby. The baby was clearly knackered but couldn't sleep. Babies are pains sometimes.

ZylaB · 08/05/2015 09:40

Yeah, I never get the screaming because they're tired and want to be asleep....just sleep then child! Grin

WilHarlot · 08/05/2015 10:11

She wants to feed. She doesn't really do lying awake happy.

ZylaB · 08/05/2015 12:37

Second vaccinations done, poor screaming baby :( she's conked out now and I'm planning nothing but free boob access for the rest of the day for comfort! I know it's the best thing, just wish I could explain it to her, so cuddles and boob will have to do :)

WilHarlot · 09/05/2015 07:19

I'm sure she'd forgotten by the time she woke up zyla. This thread is getting so quiet.

In a complete transformation, she slept last night. There is no routine to this madness. I'm so thirsty but too scared to move.

ZylaB · 09/05/2015 07:51

Hehe I get that wil and don't move dos it might wake them up! Hope you caught up on some sleep then.

It is getting quiet on here...

H is 13 weeks tomorrow omg! I can't believe it.

JuniDD · 09/05/2015 19:31

Here's to another good sleep tonight wil!

Had my first racist experience in front of babyj today (told I probably don't speak English after nearly being mown down by some little shit on a bike with her in the sling). The fact she has to hear this crap made me really sad.

Mrj reckons we are going to spend an hour tidying tonight. Given he almost went for a nap at 6pm I think this is unlikely...Grin Grin

ZylaB · 09/05/2015 20:20

Aww juni I'm so pissed off on your behalf, that's awful!

Don't want mrZ to go back to work on Monday :(. It's been lovely having someone else to make some decisions about how to keep H happy and give me breaks. I've also been a domestic goddess and batch cooked creamy chicken, baked bean pepper and sausage casserole, garlic chicken, and beef stew and doing bolognese tomorrow. There's loads in the freezer now and we've eaten well without having to spend loads and without mrZ having to do all the cooking. So I'm preening about that but sulking cos it'll be months until he's off again :(

WilHarlot · 10/05/2015 06:29

Ah that sucks zyla but sounds like you've had a lovely time. And the food sounds lush!

Juni I'm so angry on your behalf. I can't even comprehend that kind of shit. Especially now it's legitimised with the likes of UKIP. Hope the prick fell off his bike into an oncoming truck.

Babywil slept well again. I have had about 2 1/2 hours though through MrWil coming to bed, faffing, tossing and turning and me being too hot. Have to take three kids out for the day. Torture!

ZylaB · 10/05/2015 09:36

Next time he's like that kick him out of bed wil!! Glad microwil slept well again :)

ZylaB · 10/05/2015 09:37

Going anywhere nice though? Make MrWil be in charge and sit back :)

Pisghetti · 10/05/2015 10:33

Aww Zyla I know how you feel. MrP starts work tomorrow so we'll only see him on weekends for the foreseeable Sad I've been lucky to have him home for so long (she's 7 weeks tomorrow)

Hooray for sleeping microWil! Long may it continue Grin

Went to a friend's last night for a Macmillan night in (like the coffee mornings but wine oriented) I wasn't drinking but it was quite fun. Just after we got there I was holding BabyPis while chatting to the hostess and she made a funny choking noise (baby not the hostess) and then vomited spectacularly right into my cleavage. Honestly she's never brought up that much. While I stood there in horror dripping regurgitated milk she actually smiled at me! The monster.... I had to borrow a top, change her and take my bra off in the shower so as not to drop cheese everywhere.

Juni what a total wankstain Angry

cookielove · 10/05/2015 13:16

Hello all, we had no WiFi and i ran out of data so I couldn't post for weeks, I have been living in the dark ages!!

E will be 9 months on Wednesday, feels shocking! He is almost crawling :) but has been so poorly and off his food this week!

ZylaB · 10/05/2015 15:06

How do you cut you baby's fingernails? I've been using tiny clipper things but caught the end of her thumb and cut some skin off! She bled a bit but is fine but I feel really guilty, I was trying to be really careful! If I leave then they get long and she scratches herself. Am I missing some sort of mumhack here?
