Send help!! My baby's bottom has turned into a Play dough machine just not as fun! WTF? Shock One poo and two filled nappies later and she's much happier Grin
Can't imagine the logistics of take 4 kids on holiday when taking 1 up the M5 is hard enough. You Mums deserve a medal. Happy sleeping everyone Star

Morning all,
I'm debating whether to wean at the same time as moving bubba into her own room.

Am I mad? Should I start them at different times, or does it not make a difference?

Have little idea about what I'm doing as a ftm... I don't want her sleep to go completely to pot. It's not great but it's manageable at the moment.

Also, once you move them into their own room, is it best to be strict about them staying there? I.e. don't bring them back to bed with you in the night etc...

Any tips/advice/past experience appreciated.

Buttwing · 01/04/2015 13:47

sleepy I shouldn't think it would make much difference I would just go for it. I tried to move babywing a few weeks ago because he had started to sleep through, but when I did he started waking up again! Going up and down the landing at three in the morning was just not going to happen so I moved him back.I would just be led by him there might be nights he's unsettled and needs to be near you but he might be absolutely fine. Good luck :)

Buttwing · 01/04/2015 13:48

So sorry sleepy I meant she not he!

Igottastartthinkingbee · 01/04/2015 19:23

Off out tonight with the girls! Part looking forward to it and part feeling like I'd rather be getting into my pjs like this time yesterday won't be a late one that's for sure and it'll make a nice change!

Sleepywaterbaby · 01/04/2015 19:35

Thanks buttwing. I think we'll just go for it... would you hold off on the weaning?

Have a good night igotta. You'll enjoy it once you're out.

YellowWellies · 01/04/2015 20:31

Sleepy I'd just go for it. Often the big changes have passed really smoothly here and I wonder afterwards what I was dreading. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly. Lil's sleep has improved if anything on solids - if it were me I'd just avoid allergens / stuff that's hard to digest like dairy or food that's windy like parsnips for the first few days when you implement operation big cot as they can disturb sleep. Good luck Smile

Buttwing · 01/04/2015 21:03

sleepy I agree with yellow just go for it I think at first they take such a small amount of food it doesn't really change much.

igotta have a really good night!

We are going out for dinner tommorow night am really looking forward to it :)

STIGZ · 01/04/2015 21:26

Enjoy igotta .. I went out with my workmates a couple of weeks ago, really couldnt be arsed getting dressed up etc but once i actually got out the door i was glad i didSmile

sleep i would go for it aswell, hope it goes smoothly for you, im just waiting on gorgeous cot bedding arriving then my little darling is on her way Sad im dreading it to be honest and i am in the mind set that if she wakes, she is not coming into my room at allHmm but time will tell how long that will last Smile... Really dont want to co sleep this time, my back couldnt take another four years of being bent around a child at weird angles.

Dd1 has sickness & the runsSad got everything crossed me, dd2, and dp dont get it, being sick and looking after kids is an epic challenge Easter Smile

Our cot arrived today. Her room's not quite ready, but will be on Friday. Question is, do I go to Cornwall for the weekend, or decide not to disrupt her anymore, stay in the house that we've only just arrived back in, and use the weekend for sleep training. Want to go to Cornwall, ought to stay and do grown up stuff.

Igottastartthinkingbee · 01/04/2015 23:08

Had a lovely evening out thanks! Some baby chat but plenty of gossiping too. goats go to Cornwall, there's always another night for sleep training!

YellowWellies · 01/04/2015 23:13

Goats I'd go to Cornwall - the sea air might make her sleep (as my Mum would totaaallllly have said).

My Dad and Stepmum and kids are up for the long weekend, they're staying at a farm cottage nearby with a hot tub. Ha we're all sooooooo packing our cozzies and gatecrashing their rural idyll!

MundayCakes85 · 01/04/2015 23:14

Hope you had a good night out igotta And hope the rest of you don't get poorly STIGZ
DH off this week and he's mostly been great, allowing me the occasional lie in after feeding E. But I hate it when he makes me/ her wait whilst he does something else.
Right off to bed, night!

STIGZ · 02/04/2015 10:16

I went mad and gave her a bit of toast this morningShock

Baby STIGZ looks like she's loving it! We tried Greek yoghurt today- not impressed by the face on her Confused

FATEdestiny · 02/04/2015 22:57

I seem to have invited four extra children around tomorrow, two of which are coming for a sleepover. This is on top of my four. Hmm.

DDs most used sound is "Adada Dadada Adada". Some Eye and Oh sounds. No "MaMa" or Mmm" sounds at all. Competitive dad is already claiming first word. I set him straight that sounds are not words until spoken in context. He's working on it. Grrr.

RudyTuesday · 03/04/2015 03:00

She's adorable STIGZ!

STIGZ · 03/04/2015 11:41

Aw thanks girls, she is a right wee chubby checker Grin

Thanks for the new thread munday Smile.

I am feeling bloody exhausted this week, don't know why ? That period lasted 11 days, the longest i have ever had, so maybe thats why? But its a horrible feeling, i cannot be bothered doing anything but with two children thats impossible.

Enjoy your easter weekend, and hope you all get a lie in of some sort?
