stigz hmm maybe it's just my surgery then, I need a smear anyway so I don't suppose it matters just delays things a bit.

Welcome holeinmysocks your little one is gorgeous is he your first?

BettyJudy · 25/03/2015 20:32

butt I didn't have swabs, but funnily enough one reception staff said i needed to book them and another over-ruled and said not. I just had a telephone convo with the doc before the dare of insertion. Nothing special, she just covered of defo not preggo, and have some breakfast and painkillers before you come. Good luck. Just dont plan anything much for that day, just in case and remember is uncomfy buy very quick and then thats you done x

ohthegoats · 25/03/2015 21:29

I've had swabs sometimes and not other times, supposedly about not introducing infection to the uterus. They could just give you antibiotics at the same time they put the coil in. If you're sure you are clear of infection (which is likely if you've just been through ppregnancy/childbirth) then there is no need.

MundayCakes85 · 25/03/2015 22:28

Sorry STIGZ, no suggestions except have you checked your pram makers website to see if they do summer covers similar to rain cover?
Eurgh back to work meeting tomorrow, preparing to fight my corner and no longer be a nice push over. Grrrr Angry

ohthegoats · 26/03/2015 08:36

You can get big muslins - someone gave me one that I've used as a sheet, as a swaddle, to cover her car seat when the sun is in her eyes etc. I think Jojo do them, but various places if you google. Will that do as a cover for a pram?

STIGZ · 26/03/2015 09:09

Thanks munday i had a look at the make's website but nothing but will check out the muslin goats

STIGZ, we have a snooze shade and I found it great when my 3 year old was a baby, especially on holidays!

holeinmysocks · 26/03/2015 11:56

I was going to say large muslin cloths too Stigz, they'll be a bit cheaper and you can never have enough muslin cloths!
Buttwing, he is my first, so I'm pretty clueless! And you're doing better than me, we've managed to dtd once. Lol at the withdrawal method Hmm

Kirstipops · 26/03/2015 12:04

My friend is giving me a loan of this for when I go on holiday, she said it was great www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/cr/B000KN2P6E/s=sd/ref=mw_dp_cr

Kirstipops · 26/03/2015 12:05

P.s. Welcome socks Grin

ohthegoats · 26/03/2015 12:41

The child hasn't pooed since Sunday. I'm scared to go out...

holeinmysocks · 26/03/2015 13:25

Argh I hate it when that happens ohthegoats, do you need to go out?

STIGZ · 26/03/2015 16:44

God goats she caught you out last time in a car park if i remember correctly Grin

Thanks for the suggestions on sun protection, will have a look at them when my wee mini madam gives me a minutes peace, god i wish her teeth would pop through soon, she is so miserable Sad

OP posts:
ohthegoats · 26/03/2015 18:32

Well, she pooed in a situation that required another carpark change - this time I had the buggy though, so laid her down in that. Bum to the air. Exciting news was - evidence of both banana and Weetabix in the poo. She's managed to eat something all on her own!!

holeinmysocks · 26/03/2015 19:16

Did you get the black threads in the poo ohthegoata? I freaked out when I saw banana poo the other day. It also had clear bits of avocado too Confused

ohthegoats · 26/03/2015 19:48

Yep, threads.

She's going fricking mental tonight, won't go down to sleep at all. I have fed her both boobs, she fell asleep on that.. then wouldn't go down and has been yelling since 7.15. She's not a yeller - currently giving the boyfriend 10 minutes screaming, then we'll swap again. Odd.

MundayCakes85 · 26/03/2015 20:23

Good luck with the yelling Goats, also sounds like Pip is an exhibitionist!
Well it's apparent mashed carrots stain on the way in and out! Also went to our first sensory group today and really enjoyed it-nice people and like the baby signing bits.

sazzlehopes · 27/03/2015 07:12

Weaning is going well but I'm mourning bf poo. Real food poo smells. Thank god for flushable liners in the reusable nappies. Barf.

stigz I love a giant muslin - M&S do them in packs of two I think. I personally prefer to the snooze shade things..

butt a friend just announced their second pregnancy as an accident. The withdrawal method didn't work for them ShockWink

STIGZ · 27/03/2015 08:56

Thanks sazzle i will be buying Muslins i think then get dp to look at sun canopys and see what he thinks, he's the "health and safety" in our house, thank god im home with the girls mostly or i would come home and they would literally be wrapped in cotton wool, he's a tad OTT bless himSmile

I'm going to try a 6pm bed time tonight, she seems to want to nap at this time but then wont go down till about 9 which is far too late for her as she is over tired and really fighting it when i try to settle her, introducing solids has mucked up her routine by an hour or two. Then now i have just realised the clock change is this weekendHmm plus im putting her into her own room on sunday... Feel really sad about this, she is growing up too fast Sad

OP posts:
ohthegoats · 27/03/2015 09:36

I'm NOT feeling sad about her going into her own room!! I can't wait.

After an hour of screaming last night (no reason, we hadn't left her or anything), she eventually fell asleep and then only woke once in the night. Weird. That once was her eating for almost an hour, but she went back down without any sort of arguing, and an hour awake once in the night is far far better than waking up 6 times for 15 minutes.

We're going to do some sleep training as soon as she's in her own room.
