Min did you have trouble chucking up the ranitidine at first? She keeps throwing up after it so I assume it won't work?

ZylaB · 26/02/2015 10:45

Another 40g gain, in 3 days which is ace for us :). They're not weighing her again until my midwife appt on mon, where they may or may not discharge us, but the lovely feeding support lady who has been coming every other day to weigh her has said I probably won't see her again now as we're going the rit way and feeding is going ok :)

ZylaB · 26/02/2015 10:45

*right way

Minion · 26/02/2015 12:51

wil, yes sort of. Still having a bit of issue with something now tbh.
It took 2 days for us to notice the change in her

Arghhh. Just about to run out of the formula thru prescribed and have to order a repeat, it can take 48 hours, plus 24 for the milk to arrive in chemist

Fancy it coming in a tiny tin.
What's the point?

willywallace · 26/02/2015 17:40

That is stupid Min.

Well done Zyla.

Had crap news today. Might discuss it on the fb page if I can be arsed. Feeling shitty about it.

willywallace · 26/02/2015 17:41

I mean it's stupid it comes in a small tin btw, not you're stupid for running out!

Minion · 26/02/2015 17:53

Bought a tin from boots... £17.17!!!

Ouch

willywallace · 26/02/2015 18:10

Jeez thank god you don't have to buy it all the time!

ZylaB · 26/02/2015 18:31

Ick at that price min

H is feeding every hour and a half from the start of the last feed, so I'm getting an hour or hour and ten mins between feeds, is this normal?

wil hope you're ok x

JuniDD · 26/02/2015 18:35

Hope you're ok wil Thanks Thanks

Christ min that's pricey formula, good job it's doing the trick.

popz did u get your bummy looked at?? Don't delay

Minion · 26/02/2015 19:08

They've sped up the prescription thank god. Got another 3 tins.
The rworst thing is they are only 400g and she's eating 6-8 bottles a day with 5 scoops in each.. That's 3 days worth. Mental!!

Praise to free pprescriptions!

JuniDD · 26/02/2015 21:08

wil sorry about your news, I hope it can be resolved easily & quickly. xx

So, there was chat about squirrel pot pies and ox cheek chilli today at the meet up. I think the juice I bought was ok though. It does make me wonder - am I normal?! So many people I know are really "into" food and cooking etc and I'm just...not. It just doesn't interest me! What are you guys like?

She went to bed at 6.30 after our busy day so heading up shortly myself as she slept so much last night/this morning I think I'm in for a crazy night. This morning I was able to shower, dress, eat breakfast and pop up to the shops before she woke up!

willywallace · 27/02/2015 00:03

Thanks, feeling a bit better about it now.

Juni I love food but Squirrel pot pies?! The bad side of me would judge as being a bit pretentious. Are they nice? I'm pretty crap at cooking so just eat normal stuff but I would be fairly adventurous if going to a restaurant. Would love to go to Heston Blumenthal's place.

Zyla, there is no normal. Is that all day? I suspect she's playing catch up. It won't be forever. May just be that her tummy is still pretty tiny. Are you coping ok with it? I suppose it's pretty impossible to get any time to express so DH could give a bottle and you get a break?

ZylaB · 27/02/2015 02:54

Haven't tried her on a bottle yet wil I was going to ask you guys of great wisdom bows down when I could try her on one to avoid nipple confusion? It is pretty much all day, and I'm sure you're right about the playing catchup!

willywallace · 27/02/2015 04:02

Ordinarily I would say nipple confusion is a load of bollocks but you've had to work pretty hard to get to this stage and you don't want to mess it up. I would be tempted to phone your bf advisor who was coming round and ask what they think. We're not having much luck with bottles here.

JuniDD · 27/02/2015 04:14

zyla they say six weeks is when bf is established enough to try a bottle. I've never tried dd on one so no suggestions etc.

Getting really fed up with the full body scrub down and clothes change due to poonami at 4am. Guess it's good I know it's coming but 8.30am would be better!

Agreed wil on the foodies... seem to be in a minority round here though! Just makes me want to go on about my great lunch at BK (not that I've had one for years!!)

Every two hours so far tonight and feeling rough with my throat...long stretch now please baby!

ZylaB · 27/02/2015 04:56

We've got midwife on mon, I'll ask her, or my bf lady when she calls.

I've just shouted at DH to fuck off Hmm H was screaming for a feed and I'd tried settling her, then was sitting up and arranging myself for the feed. As soon as id got her on the boob and she'd stopped making a noise he shuffled in from the spare room, no glasses on so I knew he wasn't actually ready to help, and asked if he needed to do anything. Told him he was to late and to F off. I was BU wasn't i? :(

JuniDD · 27/02/2015 07:29

Sounds very familiar zyla Sad

Depends on your dh. Mine would huff and puff and never offer again. Sorry he's being unhelpful. Thanks Thanks

willywallace · 27/02/2015 07:39

Not unreasonable at all. But yes, it depends on what his reaction was/will be as to whether it was a good idea. MrWil has the memory of an elephant so I often swallow back rage so it doesn't come back to bite me in the arse later.

We slept in the living room last night as my mum was staying. BabyWil slept better than normal and is full of smiles this morning. Would consider moving permanently if the sofa was comfier.

ZylaB · 27/02/2015 07:39

He came and collected her after the feed to settle her. I went to sleep and have just woken up for next feed. Turns out she wouldn't sleep except being held so he's been up with her for 3 hours :) I'm glad it means he can see how tiring it is, and ales I feel ace for a few hours in a row!!

I'm hoping we can decide Friday nights I don't have to settle her at all, just feed and sleep. Then he can be tired sat morning and it won't affect work and as and when (and if) we get her on bottles of expressed I can take an even longer sleep! :)

Just counted, 15 feeds from midnight to midnight yesterday lol, she's definitely worked out what they're for!

RPopz · 27/02/2015 09:36

That sounds pretty normal zy. Cluster feeding is hard work! I spent most of those first few nights crying my eyes out because DS would feed for hours on end... I'd try and put him down in his crib and he'd be rooting again after 10 minutes! Shock Shock It DOES get better. And hormones, always blame the hormones... definitely not BU Grin

I've got a cold Sad Feel like holy shite! Hope DS won't catch it but can't see how he won't... he's coming up to his second wonder week too... Confused

Squirrel pie??? Squirrel is vermin isn't it? How is that posh!? I think you are perfectly normal Juni. I love food, don't get me wrong, but any old crap will do... coughmcdonaldsforlunchcough Grin

There were no more suspicious occurences on the bum/ foof front so I'm waiting for my post natal app next week. Pooing is still unpleasant but there's no pain the rest of the time anymore so I figure its not infected... Confused

Going for coffee with an old workmate later. She has the loudest ticking biological clock of anyone I've ever met ever... so I may be lucky to return home with my baby!

willywallace · 27/02/2015 10:36

Haha Popz, rope her into some babysitting.

Sounds like your outburst did the trick zyla.

Went to visit a nursery for MiniWil this morning. It was great so now looking forward to August so I can get some peace Grin .

RPopz · 27/02/2015 11:13

That's good Wil - must be a weight off your mind Smile

willywallace · 27/02/2015 11:20

Yep. Just wish she could start now Grin .

I want to put MicroWil in the sling so I can do some jobs but now I'm scared to use it in case I'm doing it wrong and making things worse

ZylaB · 27/02/2015 12:22

wil ring the midwife for some sling reassurance if it'll help? I need to start trying H in it again soon, hope she'll take to it so I can do a bit more. I want to say sorry again for my original fb post, it sounds so insensitive when I reread it and I promise it wasn't meant like that, I just wasn't stringing words together very well. Sorry! X

Went to my mums for the day so I can sit on the sofa and feed with someone else to make me cups of tea, and have a conversation!

popz hope you feel better soon.
