Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Such a shame spotty but it's the last place you want to be if you're ill. Its not going anywhere so they'll be another time.
I've got tons to do today as I was so useless yesterday.

halestone · 14/12/2014 10:18

Beasty love the name change, we were worried about our car seat the other day as we couldn't get H to fit in it. Took her coat off and hey presto she fit. Is it A's Birthday today?

Nutella i don't stop which is why i don't drink anymore.

Wow Utopian that month has gone fast.

WL hope you get everything done today.

Spotty, how are you feeling now? Thanks Don't feel bad about cancelling your health is more important.

We put the tree up last night, whilst H was asleep. I loved her reaction to it this morning. She is definately my daughter though, she found a chocolate 1st and ate it.Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 14/12/2014 10:40

Hales you should always take their coat off in their seat, otherwise if you have an accident they'll just fly out of car seat.

I'm feeling ok. Really annoyed we were meant to be seeing Father Christmas, reindeer and huskies.

halestone · 14/12/2014 11:18

OMG i can't believe i didn't know that shes always wore a coat in the car seat if the weather was bad.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/12/2014 11:26

If you strap her in with her coat on and pull the straps tight then take her out, remove her coat and pop her back in you'll see how loose the straps are. There's videos on fb. I don't even let dd wear her coat in the car. I think once using an adult strap it's ok. The thing is how are you supposed to know, no one tells you!

halestone · 14/12/2014 11:37

I know you think they would of mentioned it in Antenatal Classes.

PurplePidjingThroughTheSnow · 14/12/2014 11:56

Merry Jesus love from R Xmas Wink

MrsNutella · 14/12/2014 12:48

Hales don't worry there is so much stuff we don't know - ok, not exactly comforting; but we're all doing our best for them and as long as we do that we all deserve a big pat on the back. Smile

Brew For all.

MrsNutella · 14/12/2014 13:05

And you should see how they pack babies here when they are only going in the car!
I read an article in the local paper a couple of weeks ago about a mum who had locked her 5 month old in the car, the fire brigade came and smashed a window to reunite mum and child. The article said how dangerous it was in this "icy weather". Well, I put DD in her normal clothes in her car seat. I put a hat on her & tuck a blanket in round her legs for the trip to the car. In the car the blanket is usually over the seatbelt. Last weekend I left her asleep in the car - she slept in there quite happily for almost an hour.

halestone · 14/12/2014 14:58

We use to leave H in hers if she was asleep as it was rare for her to be asleep so we were grateful for it when she was.

We took H and my DN to see Santa today i booked it 2 weeks ago and i only booked as my friends had been and said he had a real beard. All the flyers show a man with a real beard, we got there and fake bearded santa was there. I was so disappointed. The kids weren't bothered they did get good gifts though

PurplePidjingThroughTheSnow · 14/12/2014 15:14

I pitch up on my mum's doorstep for a Brew if R falls asleep in the car - they've got a massive picture window from their living room looking over the drive. I get coffee and a comfy seat on the sofa, R gets to nap. Win!

BarHumbugBeasty · 14/12/2014 18:21

I've been known to sit in the front seat of the car with a cup of tea while A sleeps in the back.

We took both DC to ride a pony to see father christmas. They both liked the horse ride, DD still refuses to talk to father christmas.

Then back home, tree decorated and birthday tea for A.

Bath time now.

They are both so overexcited it's untrue. I don't know how we'll make it to christmas!!

halestone · 14/12/2014 18:27

Happy Birthday to AThanks Cake

H rarely sleeps in the car, and i now bring her in and she stays asleep unlike when she was little and breathing too loud woke her

MrsNutella · 14/12/2014 18:32

Oh, I usually run out to check on her every five minutes I set a timer if DS falls asleep we can carry him in and still put him down in his bed usually.
First night tonight under a duvet!! For DS. He started popping open the buttons on his sleeping bag and he likes to snuggle under ours so we think it's time. It's a little duvet because he will be in the cot as long as possible but looks big in his bed & seems cosy.

PurplePidjingThroughTheSnow · 14/12/2014 18:35

Happy birthday A and also E Cake

SpottyTeacakes · 14/12/2014 18:37

Nutella ds managed to do that that's why we got a duvet, I think it was when he tried sitting/standing. You can get an ipad/iPhone app like a baby monitor you could use if he sleeps in the car (if you have both).

Happy birthday a!

Ds falls asleep in the car but will wake up when the engine stops. If he's been asleep less than twenty minutes he will go to bed still.

I still feel rubbish. Our friends went to the zoo without us (I wanted them to) and the Father Christmas had a real beard! I've got a temperature (not much but enough to not fold the washing) and my hips are killing me!

Anyway ds in bed, dd to follow shortly and dh is clearing up.

MrsNutella · 14/12/2014 18:41

I'm still to precious to use an app Spotty. I haven't found one that I think really works.
Although I think a monitor with a webcam would sometimes be very entertaining to watch DS chatting in his bed before going to sleep.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/12/2014 18:46

I haven't used one so don't know what they're like. I'm too much of a wuss to leave ds in the car if he slept (even though there's no one about and I can see the car from the window!).

Barbeasty · 14/12/2014 21:39

I can't remember whether father christmas had a real beard. I've been so tired today- I woke up at 3.50 ish, and didn't get back to sleep properly. Then I whacked my head on the sharp corner where the ceiling meets the banisters, trying to see into the advent buckets.

Only one father christmas experience left to go now. He'll be at the nursery party on Friday, although saying that I have a feeling he comes into the infants too- so long as DD hasn't missed it while she's been off!

The one today had a nice touch of good and naughty lists on white boards, with the names of all the children who had booked on the good list.

Time for bed now. Hopefully A will stop rolling out of his (he's fallen out of bed twice this evening!)

SpottyTeacakes · 15/12/2014 03:32

Ouch beasty!

Dd 'daddddyyyyy......dadddddyyyyy'
Dh 'yes darling'
Dd 'I've been a little bit sick'

Vom everywhere Sad hope she shakes it off quickly or she will miss the school panto trip Thursday what with the 48 hour rule.

Barbeasty · 15/12/2014 08:04

FX Spotty. Do you think it's what you had yesterday?

I'm still shattered, but going out for a meal tonight with my NCT group from A. Roll on Friday!

A was grouchy and miserable this morning. I hope he's tired and not ill. DD didn't want to go to school because she hates it- when I got to the bottom of it she means she doesn't like having to play outside at break time. She's agreed to make it through the next week then have a break!

SpottyTeacakes · 15/12/2014 08:06

Dd doesn't like to go out in the cold either.

She was sick again everywhere as she couldn't find the bowl in the dark. I had to give her a 5am bath and hair wash. All caught in the bowl since we've been up though. I think it's the same bug ds had last week and am hoping I fought it off yesterday! Dh said he'd stay home tomorrow so I can go to work for a nice break

PurplePidjingThroughTheSnow · 15/12/2014 12:44

Hugs, Spotty Brew

BarHumbugBeasty · 15/12/2014 13:58

A has a chest infection and is on steroids and an inhaler. He has to make it into nursery this week, it's his last week there!!

WLmum · 15/12/2014 21:13

Oh no spotty and beasty. Hope everyone is better soon.
