So here it is - a brand spanking new thread!

OP posts:
SAHMof1 · 14/02/2007 17:56

Hope LOs get better soon HockyMum!

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 15/02/2007 14:33

Ok luckymummy, you are let off, case dismissed
Oh Hockeymum!! Nightmare, carrot chunks as well Hope dd is better soon

tron · 16/02/2007 17:51

sorry to hear your lo have been poorly, it's really tiring. Hope they get better soon

Erin is fine but still no teeth, she's like a little old lady when she eats

squidgeymiller · 17/02/2007 10:13

oh Hockeymum hope your two feel better soon! Really not looking forward to the showering sick out of hair stages!!

Luckymummy, I'm in awe - you had 3 of someone elses and 1 of your own?? I had 2 of someone elses (while their parents WERE THERE) and my DD for 1/2 a day and I was knackered! Don't know how you managed!

Niamh's doing well, she now has 3 teeth - the one next to her front teeth on the right has finally arrived, after much agony (although it looks like the matching one on the left is coming any minute). Am quite amused at the thought of her looking a bit like a vampire, or like someone has knocked her teeth out. Did I tell you her 2 front bottom teeth have arrived already? She's been off for a week or so with the teething but has been a bit better the last few days, although she's been really clingy and whiny yesterday and today. She's also been sleeping a lot (which is good but not sure if I should be worried - am putting it down to being so tired from all the teething etc that she needs to catch up!)

I assume from everyone else's silence that you're all well and busy as per usual!

WinkyGirl · 17/02/2007 19:52

Oh my god - Just did a pregnancy test and got a BFP!!!!! We are delighted but a bit shocked it happened so quickly.

I'll be doing another test tomorrow morning just to make sure! Anyway, if all is well we'll be having DC2 at the end of October.

Hope life is returning to normal Hockeypuck xx

Mandymoo · 18/02/2007 12:58

congrats Winkygirl!!!!!!

WinkyGirl · 18/02/2007 14:06

Thanks MandyMoo!

Yep, second test also positive. Absoutely delighted but have leant all my pregnancy books to friends and not sure how I can subtley ask for them back... Am putting my feet up now while DD has her pm nap.

luckymummybigfattummy · 18/02/2007 19:15

congrats winky girl!!!!

hockeypuck · 18/02/2007 22:03

Congratulations WinkyGirl - how fabulous for you!! Make sure you get lots of rest because once your little one starts walking you'll be on and off the sofa like a yoyo, make the most of the rest while you can.

We are all pretty much well at the moment, I got the sick bug the day after dd and felt awful, DH had to take a day off work as I couldn't look after both of the children with my head in the toilet! But luckily it was relatively shortlived! Thanks for all your get well wishes. I was so relieved to get out of the house last night after the house arrest of the last 10 days with sick children, it was nice to go out and not be a mum and nurse for the night!

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 19/02/2007 16:35

Congrats winkygirl!
glad things are better with you hockeymum, sorry you were poorly too

SAHMof1 · 20/02/2007 11:18

Congrats Winky!!!

squidgeymiller · 20/02/2007 21:46

Wow congrats Winkygirl! Too much winking for you recently eh??

Glad to hear all in the hockeyhouse are feeling a bit more human recently.

All quiet here, apart from DD being extra clingy and not sleeping well last few days. Nothing major though!

big grins for Hockeypuck and winkygirl !

SAHMof1 · 20/02/2007 22:04

Thought I?d draw your attention to my latest dilemma over cruising shoes

plama · 22/02/2007 10:20

Hello everybody,
Cograts winky girl! You are going to be busy!
Haven't posted for a while as back at work. Only 3 days a week though, so not too bad ( in fact quite nice once you manage to get out of the door)
DD2 is doing well. Has 3 teeth now, and in the past 2 weeks has learned to crawl and pull herself up. The cot mattress is getting lowered again! She is only BFed in the morning now, and gets bottles the rest of the time, as she is too interested in what else is going on that she constantly looks around and gets distracted. (oh and she bites me too - ouch) Am looking forward to finally getting a decent bra again, but will feel a bit sad when BF stops.
Hope everybody is well.

luckymummybigfattummy · 23/02/2007 15:23

Now I know what the term 'into EVERYTHING' means!!!!!!

Nothing is spared in our house, dd wants to play with it all!! Quite cute.

Hmmmm. Time to 'baby proof' the house, purely for safety reasons.

MrsChristianTroy · 23/02/2007 15:32

Hi,
It's luckymummy again. I had to change my nickname as I let it slip to one of my patients what it was, and didn't really fancy her reading my profile and knowing about my private life. (I was telling her how fab MN was!)

Anyway, if you want to know why the new nickname, watch NIP/TUCK on sky one, 10pm sundays. Dr Troy, complete arsehole but what I wouldn't do for a piece of that arse.......

(I know, and me, a mother!!!)

louismummy · 24/02/2007 21:25

hi all been lurking for a while. ds has been cruising for about a month now and can stand for about 10 secs... still rubbish at night for sleeping ( was up about 4 times last night which is about average) eating a little better. He got evicted from nursery last week with conjuntivitus which was a bummer... so didn't go wed... has 12 teeth!!! shame he doesn't use them to eat with!!! and loves his big brother very much. i think his big brother might have chicken pox ( oh joy) thats all for now happy weekend to you all

MrsChristianTroy · 25/02/2007 11:07

louis mummy, can't believe your lo has 12 teeth already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tron · 27/02/2007 10:10

oh my goodness louismummy 12 teeth. Erin has 0

Erin is also into everything, her favourite thing at the moment is taking in the card out of the sky box and the crawling off with it giggling - very cute but very frustrating

Mandymoo · 27/02/2007 20:18

Tom has 0 teeth!! (almost 10 months old) and has also discovered the joy of hiding the sky card!

His poor big sister cant get a minute to herself as he thinks she is the bees knees and basically follows her everywhere - plus she gets all the best smiles and giggles - very very cute to see them like that together! (will make the most of it!)

Still crawling and starting to get up on his feet.

Took him to baby group yesterday and spent most of my time removing him from other babies as he was the only one moving around!

Mandymoo · 02/03/2007 20:57

WOW!

I killed that thread proper didnt i?

Its ok, you dont have to pretent to be interested i guess!

WinkyGirl · 03/03/2007 14:16

Mandymoo no thread killing honest!! I have just managed to read messages and then had to stop Maddie from getting into trouble before managing to post.

Maddie sounds like Tom. She took on a 2 year old at playgroup the other day and pinched his toy. Despite him twisting her wrist she came triumphantly crawling back with the toy! I just watched stunned!

Am enjoying being pregnant, apart from not being able to tell people. Have been eating vinegar sandwiches and cold pizza with mayonnaise. Yum.

squidgeymiller · 03/03/2007 21:59

eeeeuuuurgh winkygirl! hope that's a craving and not just a secret food you eat any time!!

Maddie sounds fab! good on her for taking on a 2yr old and winning. Niamh used to be really pleasant and when people took her toys she just got something else, but she shares less since she's been at nursery - she won't even share her maraccas with me!! . Don't know what she's like at nursery but we always get a welcoming committee - the 3(ish) yr olds are always having a run around just outside the baby room she goes into at nursery and it's a real chore to get through - there are 3 kids that run at me full pelt screaming her name as soon as I walk in the door. It's very cute but not v handy when I'm running late for work .

all is fine here apart from more teeth on the horizon. Had 1st dentist appt Weds, she was a real star!!

SAHMof1 · 05/03/2007 21:30

Mandymoo, my DS is not yet crawling, but does want to walk all the time. Have such a bad back for walking around the house all day bent double holding him up!

And vinegar sandwiches, yuk! You know, I didn?t really have cravings. Might do next time I suppose. How?s it going then WinkyGirl? Squidgeymiller I didn?t think they had first dentist appointment until all their teeth had come though!

Hi everyone else.

hockeypuck · 06/03/2007 09:26

Most dentists like to see them when they get teeth (however many) because they get paid for a check up which basically consists of 2 seconds with them sat on your knee. I think the dentists can claim about £25-30 for this!! from the NHS.

Of course, they say it helps the baby get used to the idea of going to the dentist, sitting on your lap in the chair and having their mouth looked at.
