BrummieMomInMerthyr · 28/01/2007 22:56

SAHMof1 · 29/01/2007 09:45

Can you see my profile now?

asur · 29/01/2007 19:15

SAHMof1 - yes, can see the profile now. DS is lovely! Mouthful of teeth

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 29/01/2007 21:44

He's gorgeous SAHMof1!!
Aren't we all so lucky to have such beautiful babies

luckymummybigfattummy · 29/01/2007 23:31

SAHMof1 - just saw your profile, blimey your lo is handsome for such a young babe, he's gonna be a real heartbreaker!!! Is he really only 8 months? He looks like a proper little boy.
Say hi to good old Highworth for me!! (I love the baby room in the Highworth Emporium, I have to go everytime I visit M&D!)

squidgeymiller · 30/01/2007 09:34

Wow SAHM, he's gonna break some hearts!!

I agree with Luckymummy, we're all very very lucky!!

WinkyGirl · 01/02/2007 14:22

Am loving looking at all the profiles and have done mine this morning.

Hockeypuck - barbie shoes! I have been madly baby-proofing the house and reassuring myself that when the next one comes it will be so much easier because we have already made the house safe. But it wont will it? Because all of DD's older baby toys will be all over the place!! Gah.

Anyway, I am also loving DD at this age. Life has got considerably easier over the last few weeks and I am even sleeping all night through. Result.

hockeypuck · 02/02/2007 08:06

Hi winkygirl - just had a look at your profile - I didn't realise you lived in Winchester. I'm from that neck of the woods too (although I live in Cardiff now). All my family live in either Basingstoke or Winchester so I'll wave on one of my visits!
[wave]

With regards to the Barbie Shoes, I understand it's just as bad if the first child is a boy because of little lego wheels and the like - oh and either gender will have a play till by then with lots of little pennies in it. My friend thought she'd done the right thing by having a 13 year gap between her children, that's no good either, her dd2 eats whole lipsticks belonging to her dd1 and poos bright red afterwards

SAHMof1 · 02/02/2007 19:44

luckymummybigfattummy - when you are here, we could meet up.

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 05/02/2007 09:57

OMG, Dylan has started to grind his teeth it's driving me mad! Any experience of teeth grinding????

SAHMof1 · 05/02/2007 12:08

Ooooo - yes - cringe - cringe

mandymoo · 06/02/2007 10:51

hi all - quick update. Am always catching up and lurking but hardly find time to post!

Tom is now 9 months old, crawling, pulling himself up on his feet, eating 3 big meals a day, sleeping pretty well BUT STILL NO TEETH!!!!!

Sounds like all your lo's are doing well!

Catch up soon X

luckymummybigfattummy · 07/02/2007 14:55

mandymoo - snap!! Sophie is nearly 9 months, she is crawling, pulling herself up, eating and sleeping well, but no sign of any teeth!!!!!! Gummy girls are great!!

SAHMof1 - Yes would love to meet up when I am next in Highworth. Will let you know when I plan a trip down.

hockeypuck · 10/02/2007 16:54

well, we've had our first hospital visit.

Theo has been really whiny and not himself for a few days which I put down to teething, he kept waking at night which isn't like him and had a bit of a temperature so I was giving him regular calpol. On thursday he wouldnt be put down at all and was boiling hot, he wouldn't even settle in his cot so after a while of him crying I went up to get him and his temp went right up to 41.5%, even tepid bathig him, stripping him and opening the windows to the snow weren't bringing the temp down so I took him straight to the doctors who told me to take him straight to the childrens ward. Cue sitting on a hard chair for 5 hours (3 of which with a naked baby and small pot on my knee in an attempt to catch any wee!). They were concerned that he didnt have a cold or cough or anything so thought it might be a UTI or brain infection (did know the name to this but cant remember now in my sleep derprived state). They did manage to get his temp down eventually and he was a bit more himself, they ruled out the UTI once the wee dip was clear and said if it was in the head he would be getting worse so let us home in the early hours. We have had this problem with DD, who when she gets a temp gets one really high and fits so we were prepared but he seems more in control now. He still has a fever but we're alternating brufen and calpol and giving him lots of fluids. He has become really attached this week now he's ill, just wanting me. Dh keeps singing "everybody needs a bosom for a pillow" to him when I come back in the room.

BUT we've survived our first trip and I'm sure there will be more.

hope your lo's are all keeping well and enjoying their first snow!

luckymummybigfattummy · 11/02/2007 17:51

hockeypuck,
soory to hear about your hosp trip. How is Theo now?
Thinking of you xxx

luckymummybigfattummy · 11/02/2007 17:51

sorry, not soory

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 11/02/2007 21:03

Hockeymum, how awful, hope Theo is better now.

hockeypuck · 12/02/2007 09:08

Theo still not better, he's not like himself at all and is refusing all food and most fluids, but there is nothing they can do for a virus so we're just trying to get him to sip things all the time so he doesn't dehydrate. It's a tiring business this poorly baby thing. Every time I stir in the night I get up and check his temp in a paranoid mother way!

Once he's drinking and beginning to eat again I'll know he's on the mend and be a happier mummy

luckymummybigfattummy · 13/02/2007 19:46

thnking of you hocjeypuck, hope Theo picks up soon.
Sophie finally cut two bottom teeth!

luckymummybigfattummy · 13/02/2007 19:46

oh dear, less red wine I think

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 13/02/2007 20:21

Luckumummy, drunk at 7.45 on a school night ???!!!!
Hockeymum, how is Theo?

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 13/02/2007 20:21

I meant LuckYmummy of course, and i haven't touched a drop

hockeypuck · 14/02/2007 09:55

one better - one down!

Theo is now a little bit better, slowly beginning to eat a drink tiny amounts (dread to think how much weight he's lost through one week of no food!) but has had no fevers for last 24 hours so must be on the mend.

DD has now come down with it - which although is more yukky (3am this morning I was showering chunks of carrot out of her hair!) is much less worrying as her temp doesn't get so high and she can tell me how she is.

When all this is over I am going to have one hell of a night out!!

P.S. Well done on the teeth Sophie (enjoy them!)

luckymummybigfattummy · 14/02/2007 14:30

in my defence your honour, I had just had my neice and nephews for the day (8,6 and 2). Believe me, I needed a red wine!!
