Ooh Inge to start a new thread. So if the last one was the one where they don't sleep, then they'll start to sleep now, yes?

I go back to work next Weds Kitty. DS started properly today. Full day today, tomorrow and Friday. I've just done a lovely yoga class and am using the next few days to have lunches, get hair cut etc. miss DS though. Sad

pear definitely want to hear all TTC details! I'm beginning to accept that I will do it all again but not yet!

Shock Frus I will be nosey and head over to the other thread! Proud of you for doing what's gotta be done. Kids are so perceptive too, so I'm sure they've noticed the lack of tension in the house. Hugs for you.

Sorry I've been AWOL for the past couple of days. Just finally readjusting to normal life after being away at back-to-back births for 2 days. Kids did amazing with me being gone, DH has been super supportive which has been such a complete 180 from a couple of years ago.

Wow, shoe drama pear!

That's really annoying Lor. Sad too. I hate when that kind of stuff happens.

How are you holding up angu?

Still ...3 rooms?! That's an achievement!

Ahhhhh! Sleep is not on the cards. Did fall asleep early but then woke up at 3 and could not get back to sleep until 5. Tonight I will try all over again accept I will run a silent bath to try and help!

bringonthetrumpets · 03/06/2014 02:34

Wow! Go Frus! That reminds me of my painting obsession when I was pregnant last year. Hope things are going ok for you this week, dear friend.

M did the same thing pear. I was so tired that I actually just cried. I had two births on Thursday, one over night into Friday morning, a 24 hour visit on Friday, and then home for a 1-hour nap before the babysitter had an appointment and I had to face 3 kids who really, really, really missed me for the rest of the day. Then went out with DH to see Bill Maher's standup act, which (of course) didn't end until 22:00, so little-to-no sleep on Friday night. Then M decided to be up 3+ times on Saturday night into Sunday and we were all up early. Last night M went down okay at 19:00, but then woke up at 23:00 and would. not. sleep in her bed. It was a battle of the wills and I finally made her cry it out. I could only pick her up and rock her back to sleep so many times (5x is my limit, after that it's just stupid to keep doing it!). So she finally fell asleep at some point last night and then she woke again at 4:30 and did the same thing after I nursed her, so she cried it out again this morning and then woke up for the day at 7. I'm. So. F'ING. TIRED. Of course DH wants some. Uh, nope, not gonna happen.

peardrop2 · 03/06/2014 06:54

Oh bring it's me that can't sleep Hmm Bpear has been sleeping through for months now since I trained him (unless he's sick). He just wakes at 5:50am so I always feel tired which is crazy since I am getting way more sleep these days...just not enough! I've always needed 8 hours!!

Oh Frus Hmm Well at least on the flip side you're not blind to his behaviour and you stayed strong saying "no" to letting him stay. How confusing that would have been to DC1...he really doesn't think does he! Grrrrr!

So, I feel like I already own a 2 year old. Bpear would not let me put his nappy on tonight at bedtime and had tantrums after tantrum. His behaviour tonight was the worst he's ever been. Tantrums when the bubbles went away at bath time, tantrums when the bath ended, tantrums getting him changed. I don't think I dealt with it very well as it took me by surprise. Ignoring him made it worse but asking him to sit for his nappy to be changed made him cry louder. I cut his nap short this afternoon because we went out, I can only think that this was the cause of it. He has actually had 3 days of cut naps in a row. Maybe it's because we've been going out too much?! I've got a clear diary for the next few days so hopefully that solves the mystery change in behaviour!

bringonthetrumpets · 03/06/2014 23:29

Oh good lord. Does he think he gets house privileges now or something? He's going to just have to suck it up like every other parent who doesn't get to go to bed at the time they'd prefer.

Thanks kitty. We did CIO again last night. It's working and now I'm beyond caring if it actually causes any type of long-term damage to the psyche. I feel like I'm getting long-term damage to mine from not sleeping!

Sad poor pear having a child sleep through the night! Wink
