Happy birthday mini-Poly!

And any others!

We are nearly done bf. We only really do middle of night in bed now if he wakes and won't settle. I offer it to him first thing in the morning too but he usually just bites me then crawls away Hmm.

Unfortunately because we mix fed he is now hooked on formula! He was only on an afternoon bottle and bedtime, but when he started nursery I sent him with two bottles in case he got jealous of all the other babies. So now he has two in the day, plus his bedtime one plus sometimes one in the night. Plus he eats all his meals! I hope we are not over feeding him Confused.

meringuesnowflakes33 · 27/01/2014 21:01

Brilliant, Lost! That's basically the position we end up in our bed most nights!

Lostbobbles · 27/01/2014 22:03

Happy Birthday Poly, hope you had a lovely day

Pascha · 28/01/2014 10:09

How do they know when you put brand new clothes on them? What signal lets them know its ok to do the biggest poo known to man and spread it up the back and down the legs and all over said new clothes. Hmm

He enjoyed his second bath of the day at least...

AppleCrumples · 28/01/2014 11:48

haha pascha! They just know Wink Grin

Ivy refused to sit in assembly this morning and the noisy squirming littke madam had to be removed! Sort of dread any of the dc having merit assemblies now as its far too long for Ivy and bloody hard work

Angielka · 28/01/2014 14:37

Well done birdies! That's how you get what you need. I have been promoted at work and am trying to be strong and decisive like that but I blush much too easily as well

Happy birthday mini-poly!

Managed to avoid the morning feed this morning (thanks apple) but now Molly has a temperature and I'm tempted to feed her all day if it helps her get over it. Still, I've decided she's big and chunky healthy enough to fight it off without extra bf antibodies. We'll see...

Lost that video always makes me a bit sad as it's the exact position DS wants to sleep in if his Reflux is playing up. Makes me wonder if the little girl is in pain Sad.

DS' immunisations are booked in for next week - at 2.19pm on Thursday to be exact! Dreading it though - we have 2 nurses at our practice and one is known to be rubbish. We had her for one of the first lot of immunisations and DS howled.

I think I have made a name for myself at nursery. Picked DS up at lunch time and he had a dirty nappy - he'd obviously been dirty for a while as it was quite dried in and a nightmare to clean him up. This has happened four days in a row now and his bottom's really sore, so I took him back and complained. Nursery has been fantastic so far so really didn't want to rock the boat but what else could I do?

I want to curl up on the sofa and watch masterchef Australia, but DS has other, far more noisy plans. Hmph.

Angielka · 28/01/2014 18:33

You were right to complain cupcakes. It's horrible when that happens and four days n a row?!! Hope you get to curl up on the sofa this evening Wine

newbie6 · 28/01/2014 19:36

Hi all,

My LO has been a nightmare all day today, think he is teething and maybe now getting a reaction to his jabs from last week as doctor said the MMR is a live vaccine so it can cause symptoms about a week after the jab.....oh joy! Please let my smiley boy come back soon as at the moment he just cries all the time and is glued to me :(

Hope everyone else is ok!

X

mrsbug · 28/01/2014 19:46

Newbie dd was a real misery guts a week after her MMR, although it also coincided with a tooth Coming through.

Cupcakes I would have complained too.

Going out with dp tonight, got a babysitter here already but struggling to get dd to sleep...

Oh dear Pascha

Today dd came home from nursery with someone else's sippy cup and a hair clip in her hair!

Pascha · 28/01/2014 20:01

Dan had his jabs last monday and he's been a bit grotty for the last couple of days. Temperature, clingy, fractious etc. He's been better this afternoon though. DS1 sailed through them without a single problem.

meringuesnowflakes33 · 28/01/2014 20:26

Oh dear we have jabs Friday :(

Good for you for complaining, Cupcakes. That's happened twice at our nursery tho both times I think it was fresh. Once it had leaked through his trousers he was crawling around I can't believe they didn't notice, yuk!

Bugsy today they gave his shoes to someone else! Poor love.

Hope you enjoy your night out :)

DP is away so I'm watching a chick flick :)

newbie6 · 28/01/2014 20:52

Thanks all, feel a bit better knowing how he is today isn't unusual, hopefully he will be back to normal soon.

Xx

Trying to catch up...

On BF, I gave up on Christmas Eve on advice of midwife due to having a history of miscarriage and it being linked to causing miscarriage. As it turns out, baby had already died by then. I went cold turkey on him! We'd had a few nights where I hadn't been in at bedtime and B had been put down without any milk and hubby just listened to him crying until he fell asleep. Took a few nights for him to settle quickly but no more than 3 or 4. he's now asleep within 5 mins and goes down completely awake. In the mornings, I just put him straight in his high chair and gave him toast and banana and distracted him as best I could. Surprisingly, it wasn't a big deal at all to stop. He doesn't really drink cows milk though so he gets a massive bowl of yoghurt most nights and nursery makes sure his food has plenty dairy.

Yay on the walking mini-cupcakes!

I've had a lovely day drinking coffee, eating cake and having prosecco! Met a friend with her twins this morning then went to another friends this afternoon.

Made strawberry and champagne cupcakes last night - highly recommend!

Ended up not going out with my friends on Sat. Was really crampy through the day so decided I didn't really want to go out feeling that rubbish. Hubby and I accidentally got quite drunk though instead and chatted about lots of things which was good.

Pascha, it's amazing how they know about new clothes... Bailey takes those days as the ones to eat really messily.

We haven't heard about jabs yet. Might chase that up...

Lora1982 · 28/01/2014 21:52

ugh jabs no sleep

fourlegstwolegs · 28/01/2014 21:57

Hi all - Felix's jabs got cancelled as the nurse was ill. So I shall await my new booking. Nothing else to report. The odd shaky step if I hold my hands just out of reach, and still now words!

fourlegstwolegs · 28/01/2014 21:58

No words! Not now words...

salt1 · 29/01/2014 04:06

jealous of hair clips ... no need here...

lollipoppi · 29/01/2014 08:39

Cupcakes well done for complaining!

Happy that sounds like a good night with the hubby, probably just what you both needed

Very cranky DD here for the past few days, think more teeth are coming Hmm

I'm getting my hair done later on today! I literally can't wait to just sit down with a cuppa and be pampered for a few hours, and best of all it's free whoop whoop Grin

Birdies · 29/01/2014 09:35

X had her jabs a week ago and was absolutely fine until last night when I had to go to her 3 times before midnight. Got the calpol out and she's fine today. They do say each part of the MMR kicks in at a different time from a week onwards so guess that's what's happening to our babies (nb am refusing to say toddlers!).

happy glad you are feeling better.

Am jealous of the haircut lolli. I haven't had a haircut since being pregnant!

Have been getting heart palpitations and chest pain so now having all sorts of tests done :(. I think it might be hormone related though. And bizarrely since I got my period bf has instantly stopped hurting again. Very odd but good because I still haven't figured out how to stop.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 29/01/2014 13:33

Also jealous of the haircut, lolli!

Birdies hope they sort you out soon.

DS has just worked out how to climb onto the sofa, and promptly fell off it, backwards, doing a flip in mid air and landing with a thud. He thought it was hysterically funny. Gave me a fright though!

newbie6 · 29/01/2014 22:13

Pesky jabs, kept my LO off nursery today as he is so gurney and clingy still, praying he gets better soon! X

Pascha · 29/01/2014 22:31

Dan's still clingy and grizzly too. Wouldn't let go of me most of the day. Made cooking dinner for them quite interesting. Wouldn't go in the sling either.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 30/01/2014 08:28

Right I'm going to do some batch cooking for the freezer this weekend in case of jab induced clingyness next week.

Also seriously considering getting DS a dummy. He's been using me as a human dummy all night and I've had enough!

Tugstonia · 30/01/2014 08:51

Happy belated birthday to Poly and miniPoly!

Thanks for your birthday wishes - DP took me to see Matilda the Musical which was AMAZING! I love a musical and had been wanting to see it for ages :)

It's my DD's birthday today! Can't quite believe it and feeling rather emotional Blush. She celebrated early with an all night shouting party last night Grin. At least we've both got the day off today.

Hope all the grizzly babies get back to their usual selves very soon. Not looking forward to jabs I must say...
