We went swimming today too Pasha! Its such a faff and I hate getting my hair wet, hate the goggles, hate the changing room (ewwww dirt) hate the damp towels, all of it. However Felix loves it SO MUCH that I feel compelled to keep going!

Ladies I've added a new picture
It represents the kind of day/evening I've had
(Believe it or not, this was actually shown to me as part of a work e-learning package to refresh me with the possible hazards I face as a home based worker)

Happy birthday mini Tugs and mini Poly!! :)

I love it fourlegs! and Dan does too. It's our one morning of the week just us two doing something for him. He gets so excited in the water it's a joy to be there. I cba to sort hair etc out though, it stays up out of the way til I can shower in peace at home.

Very Envy of Matilda. Ds1 would never watch that. His favourite film is Cars. It's engines all the way in my house.

Thursday must be the day for swimming as we had our class yesterday too. DS loves it, but I'm another one who hates all the faff! I can't swim myself so it's important to me that DS learns.

Poor DS has been really poorly overnight - pretty much every set of bedding we own is now in the wash or waiting to go in. He seems fine this morning though. I am shattered and poor DH was relegated to the sofa!

We saw Matilda when I was heavily pregnant - really wasn't sure about it when we booked the tickets as I didn't fancy battling through London a few weeks before Christmas heavily PG, but it was SO worth it. And I got my "baby on Board" badge!

Thanks Lolli - I think it's because he's had a heavy cold and the mucus has been sitting on his chest. Now it's all out he seems right as rain!

I love DD2 swimming lessons, mainly because I don't have to get in Grin

Cupcakes hope DS is ok.

L has had temp and is full of snot, she has a few teeth looking ready to cut so think it's prob related.

Well fun and games here, the latest game is 'hide and seek' spent twenty minutes yesterday looking for her brands new shoe, I looked everywhere and had mass panic that I put it in wash or something, only to find it in the bin!! at least it didn't meet the same fate as the stacking cups that were found lovingly put in the loo last week!

Off down South later for my dad's birthday party, guess I should get on with packing the truck load of stuff required for one night....

Sitting in the car in the rain while dd sleeps. Shouldn't really let her sleep any longer but can't face going out into the rain.

DS just did something really creepy. I was giving him his bath and suddenly he looked right past me, smiled, waved and offered a toy to... Nobody. Gave me the heeby jeebies!

He seems absolutely fine now so fingers crossed we'll get some sleep tonight.

Spooky cupcakes. I remember when dd was tiny she had a habit of staring at an empty corner of the room, very unsettling.

Happy birthday Ellen!

I've survived my second week back at work. Dd now likes nursery so much she cries when I pick her up Confused

Hi all. Havent posted for a long time but try to catch up with the news when I can. My LO turned 1 on wednesday, I truly dont know where that year has gone. I kept thinking about going into labour and the subsequent 28hrs that followed til he finally arrived. It seems so surreal looking back... And what our poor bodies had to go through!

Its been a wonderful and challenging year. The illnesses have been hard, he has had another virus this week so not much sleep all round again. Have to say thank goodness for all of your stories, it makes me think i'm not the only one who finds it hard.
One of the toughest things is how its chamged my relationship with DH. We have been together for years, but never realised what an impact having a child makes. And not for the better here :-( Am hoping that we are not the only ones who have a struggle in the early days...!

Will try and post more often. LO is a delight, laughing, clapping, babbling away, 8 teeth and standing well but not quite walking yet. I start work next month, and just dont feel ready to do it yet, how do u working mummies do it?! I cried just leaving him at settling at nursery for an hour. I need to man-up he he!
Happy birthday to all the others celebrating this week :-)

Cupcakes that's spooky!!

Welcome back bunny and happy belated birthday to mini bunny!
Having a baby does impact on your relationship, me and DP really struggled for the 1st year of ds1, it's such a huge change to go through as a couple! Christ knows how were still together after the 2nd Grin

DD is still in Grumpsville, these teeth have a lot to answer for, I want my smiley happy baby back

Well Daniel has a new word - 'Babm! Babm!' for boobies accompanied by lunging, pulling my top, mouth open and ready Hmm. Time to start teaching boob manners I think...

Nice to see you Bunny Happy birthday to your DS, hope you had a good day.

Cupcakes did he sleep? Maybe his 'friend' helps him? (or keeps him awake?)

DH is off in the howling gales and rain to get chocolate and wine from the nearest shop. Woodburner is roaring, Dan is mumbling in his cot and DS1 is snoring beautifully. Big Bang Theory is on the telly and I am chilling nicely. As soon as Dan settles I'm off up for a bath and DH is doing egg and bacon sandwiches for supper later.

Hope everyone's weekend is going well.

Hi Bunny I didn't feel ready either (went back in November) but DS settled so well at nursery it made it all so much easier. He loves it there.

Pascha - weirdly he did! Made it all the way through until 3.30am before his first wake-up, quick feed then back to sleep until 6am. A personal best for him! If it's his "friend" then were was he last night from 10.30-2.30 when DS was very, very awake!

Went out for lunch with DH as an early celebration of our anniversary. Mum had DS so it was our first child-free meal out for a very long time. Was really lovely, until 2 hours later when I started vomiting uncontrollably, doubled over in pain with stomach cramps. Won't be going to THAT pub again!

Easy day today - DH is taking to dogs for a really long walk with the local guide dogs and I'm going to be recovering on the sofa!

Report
happyhow · 02/02/2014 12:30

What a shame cupcakes! At least you're getting a chance to recover.

Bunny, it is hard but you get into a rhythm with work pretty quickly. B LOVES nursery so I have no worries about him which makes it better. Everyone was really worried that I wasn't the emotional wreck I was 'supposed' to be when I went back but B was happy and it's not inky nature to show that side anyway.

We're just back from a 90 min walk - I'm knackered now! B fell asleep within 3 mins of the front door and is still asleep now! Smile That's 2hrs in total and he doesn't look like he'll stir anytime soon.

In other news, he finally started crawling this morning!!! Was so chuffed with himself and kept smiling and giggling. Our peace will be shattered now though...

Happy Birthday for all the babies and mummies this week!! Grin

Thanks all. We had a lovely little party for him - turtle themed because it looked cute in the PartyPieces catalogue and found it locally much cheaper - bonus :-) we have jelly and cake coming out of our ears! ;-)
great to hear the others are doing well with nursery, hopefully we'll get there!

We are still struggling to get him to stay in his cot and has ended up in with us for the last few nights now :-/ because he was ill I let him off, but now cant be sure if he is still crying to come in because he is still feeling poorly (he is still snotty and getting hot quite a lot) or if he has sussedThat he gets cuddles if he makes a fuss...

Pascha · 02/02/2014 20:57
