Birdies we're supposed to be washing hair? Beyond pulling bits of porridge out I've never bothered .

bug loving the idea of pull-up nappies. Nappy changes are hard work here!

He is in his batmobile again, bopping along to the bat music. The chuffing things takes up half the living room but he loves it so much I don't have the heart to put it away. I think we need a bat cave.

Congrats on walking cupcakes, I still love watching L running around, she still looks so small.

Re shoes I have for the last five years been a total fuss pot and usually go to a small independent shoe shop near me that stocks lots of brands ricosta, pediped, ecco, bobell....) but after spending half an hour in there yesterday trying every pair they had and not liking any I finally succumbed and went to Clark's. it was actually the outlet shop and got current season pair for £20-- happy days Grin

Birdies I use a munchkin shampoo cup and like Lora just pour it over her head.

For pull up nappies I used pampers easy up ones as they are like nappies, huggies ones are more geared up for potty training and less absorbent. Not sure about own brand versions as DD1 had a reaction to their nappies.

Happy / Glorious hope you had a good night. What was the mystery Glorious?

DD1 has party today, think most of the year is invited. Hall full of screaming girls, fun fun fun! Confused. tried to get DH to take her but I lost ' paper, scissor, stone'. The bugger always wins

Haha I thought that was an actual make of hat pascha before I realised you meant literally no hair! So before i realised I did a search for it and found this:

baldybabybows.com. Lovely!!!

Have found a shampoo shield on amazon as if I pour water over head all the shampoo will go in her eyes and I can't bring myself to not shampoo as I love how her hair is all fluffy afterwards! Although sounds like I don't actually need to do it, oops.

Tried to stop bf the other day but ended up having a battle and giving up. It's extremely painful when she latches on but is the only way I can easily get her to sleep - anyone successfully stopped and have any tips?

Yes glorious what's the mystery?!

Enjoy party lost, sounds fun.

cupcakes the batmobile sounds great, not surprised you can't put it away!

I seem to remember putting DS1 in pullups at about the same age. I have a giant box of pampers to get through and then I might get some. Tescos are good, Boots tended to leak a bit and I never spent the money on Pampers pullups so no comparison here. Although, I have found since ordering them bulk online its not quite such a horrendous difference from supermarket price.

Well done on the walking MiniCupcakes! Have fun at the party Lost!

Off to soft play today. Yay! Hmm

Yay on the walking mini cupcakes! Loving the bat mobile!

Hope you had a good night last night glorious? What was the surprise?

I was DDs hair, it has to be done almost every night as she smears food in her hair Confused

Urgh on the baldy bows!! Who would actually stick a bow to their baby's bald head using adhesive!!??
We've not gone for any hair accessories yet, she won't even keep a hat on never mind a clip in her hair

Hope everyone's having a good weekend!

Ds1 is currently sat repeating banana banana banana banana banana over and over and over again, am I ok to gag him?

Report
Pascha · 26/01/2014 12:54

Wow those bows are really something!

Dd has lots of hair which gets in her face so I have bought her some soft hairbands which are cheap on eBay, Like these.

I'm a bit worried clips could be a choking hazard, or am I being paranoid?

Report
lollipoppi · 26/01/2014 22:19

I like those Mrsbugs, dd has got crazy hair, it's only just started lying flat on her head, the last 12 months she looked like she had been electrocuted Grin I actually quite miss it.
Not long enough to put a clip in just yet, although I'm dreading when the time comes as she hates anything on her head!

Party was amazing, they were fine to drop and go, so I got to spend two hours in a coffee shop and have uninterrupted food and conversation. GrinGrin obviously did not mention this to DH, haha stick your scissors, suckerWink

I try and put clips in L's hair but she keeps pulling them out so have given up for now (mrs bug, yes your right on choking hazard) her hair is a mess at the mo.

Report
AppleCrumples · 26/01/2014 22:54

yes probably a choking hazard Blush but she is no 4 and frankly the lego, monopolyy pieces and randon shit picked up by older dc more of a worry. truthfully at this point am woreyingly relaxed

lost party sounds good...always love a drop and run! :)

Ivy a proper grump today. we have all spent today trying to entertain her oh god the rod we are making She rewarded us by saying'ni ni' and waving when the boys and i were putting her to bed!

Hooray for tits indeed. No better way to get baby to sleep after the excitement of her birthday party.

I tied a helium balloon to her dress and she toddled round, hitting her balloon and chasing the bigger children.

It was a three generation party (mum's birthday today, mine tomorrow and baby's on Thursday) so cake and jelly for all. Now she's completely worn out and outraged that all the lovely fun people have gone home.

BuntyCollocks · 27/01/2014 08:44

apples how cute! That sounds unbelievably adorable!

poly happy birthday when it comes, and happy soon to be birthday for mini-poly! Loving the idea of the balloon on the dress!

Well done on the walking, mini-cupcakes!

Happy birthday to any babies I've missed - we're nearly all one! This year has been too quick.

Back at work a week tomorrow. :( however, it's my big boy's third birthday on Friday, so we're going to have a lovely long weekend, I can't wait.

Aww lolli DD1 had that kind of electrified hair. I assumed Molly would get it too, but she didn't. I remember missing it once it grew out with DD1 too.

Molly will tolerate clips if she doesn't notice them, but once she's noticed them, game's over.

Too excited about walking in this house. She has this enormous grin all over her face from the moment she spots me across the room, through the toddle waddle, to the moment she hurls herself at me from about a metre away. I LOVE this age. But yes, there are no babies anymore Sad

Molly slept all night last night. The night before too. There is no rhyme or reason to it, since until the night before that she was a regular twice-a-night waker and we tried bf, milk in a sippy cup, nothing, water in a sippy cup - sometimes one worked, sometimes the other worked... wish I knew the magic answer.

Oh and I've decided - bf is coming to an end. We're down to morning and evening, with sippy cups of milk afterwards. Not sure which to drop first, but perhaps it won't be the drama I'm dreading...?

AppleCrumples · 27/01/2014 12:38

angie we are currwntly trying to drop Ivys morning bf by giving her toast and her cup whikst we get everyone ready for school. Its easier to drop as you can distract them in the morning. The bedtime feed is always the last to go here

Report
mrsbug · 27/01/2014 17:10

I don't really want to give up bf totally but would like the freedom to leave dd for a night occasionally. Not sure if it works like that. I've been invited to a hen weekend this summer and would like to be able to leave dd with dp, but carry on bf when I get back.

The biggest challenge will be getting her to bed without boobies...

Report
Pascha · 27/01/2014 17:40

Thats totally doable mrsbug. The key, as you've guessed, is to get bedtime without boobies. Once you've mastered that, the rest is easy.

Get her into the habit of milk in a cup before bed, followed by teeth and stories and get DP to do it too so he can manage it all easily by the time your hen weekend comes up. She will probably only be feeding once or twice a day by then anyway so its not so much to miss for a weekend and your supply will cope no problem. I'd expect her to pick right up where she left off when you get back.

angie I'm ready to give up too. DS still BFs morning and evening, plus a couple of times in the night. We gave him his first cup of cows milk on Saturday instead of his BF - he loved the milk but still pesters for boob! I'm sure it will get easier as my supply drops.

We all had fajitas for dinner - very messy but DS loved them!

That's what I thought, Pascha. She'll drink milk from a cup in the daytime, and now she's at nursery she feeds at 7am then not again till about 5.30pm. The problem is that then she's on and off the boob all night.

Once she has settled into the new regime of me being at work, then we'll try to cut out the night feeds wish me luck with that

Birdies · 27/01/2014 20:07

I went to get jabs last week and was told that the apmt was the day before so we had missed it. I'd actually rung the day before to check the time as I had to wait 2 weeks to even get an apmt and they gave me the wrong date! So the receptionist said she would ask the nurse if she could squeeze us in. ....she said no. So I plonked X on the desk and said "I'm not leaving until she gets her jabs". Felt rather proud of myself but could feel my face burning red, not so cool! She got her jabs though Grin

Interested to read the giving up bf tips. I'm having a nightmare with pain on latching at the mo, I need to give up but she doesn't want anything else to drink and I can't seem to get her to sleep without feeding her to sleep. Help?!

Apples - 'ni, ni' too cute, go Ivy Grin

Re BF, I cut out one a week over three weeks, the night being last to go. I got DH to give her cup for couple of nights then tried myself. She moaned and pushed cup away for a bit but then gave in when I pretended to drink madam wants whatever is not hers

MrsB, with DD1 I just did night feed for quite a while and supply was fine.

Check this made me laugh apologies if link fail, I'm a techno idiot and can't figure it out m.youtube.com/watch?v=MLErNXIYjMg
