No anyone wouldn't go dairy or whatever free for their child. I wouldn't have lasted a day week. yw and others you've been incredible.

YellowWellies · 25/01/2014 11:04

Stunt I planned to wean him at 18 months adjusted - so April / May time here too. Let's be weaning buddies. I'm going to eat a whole tiramisu Grin

ValiumQueen · 25/01/2014 11:17

YW I recall you saying the other day that J got really quite excited looking at the Nutrimigen bottles going onto his nursery bag. Remember you do have options, as far as I can see anyway. Forgive me if I have got the wrong end of the stick. You have done amazingly well, and it is very nearly February. I could have done dairy free for a few months I think, but not this long Brew

ValiumQueen · 25/01/2014 11:18

That was meant to be Thanks

StuntNun · 25/01/2014 12:28

Mmm tiramisu. Definitely has egg in. Confused My mum and DH were talking about me weaning J off bf after Christmas but I think if I'm doing it just so I can have scrambled eggs then that isn't sufficient justification.

Lily I just got a text from DH asking if he should buy veal or sirloin and I replied saying they were too expensive, completely failing to mention the £400 TV. Blush It was a bargain though. Maybe I'll let him buy a second hand Xbox so he can play his stoopid video games. Grin

F has had her first hair cut Grin.

I too have had a hair cut but am a bit Shock at the shortness. Will get used to it I'm sure.

Fs elusive missing bottom tooth is about to appear, perhaps the culprit, in part, for recent tricky nights.

YW, and stunt, I salute you and your dairy/egg free norks. 7 months wad hard enough. Shall eat celebratory tiramisu and cake with you both when you say the word.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/01/2014 12:31

Pics please piggy

PetiteRaleuse · 25/01/2014 12:32

And quiche. You'll be able to eat quiche.

PurplePidjin · 25/01/2014 12:56

YW most people wouldn't make that kind of sacrifice for their child, you are a very special and loving mummy. I've found caffeine hard and that's easy to avoid! Remember too, most people move to bottles by 6 months so the fact that you've done extended breastfeeding on such a restricted diet is awe-inspiring Thanks

I'm tempted to do a separate thread, but I'll test it on you guys first...

AIBU to think that 11am in a children's playground is not the time to smoke a spliff? And that strapping your 2yo in the buggy while your 3 older dc play is the cause of not the solution to the tantrum?

Lily311 · 25/01/2014 13:02

Playground is not the place to smoke. Never. But was the 2year old tantrumming before you arrived or after? If after than agree. If before than either way.

Just got the sledge out and some frozen carrots. What can I use to make eyes? I have no stones, or coal or anything like. We are talking obv about a snowman. It hasn't stopped snowing btw, looks awesome outside.

Zamboni · 25/01/2014 13:14

Got any nice big buttons lily?

Pidj, YW, Stunt, BP and anyone else who has adjusted own diet to continue BFing - sweeping bow in your direction. It isn't something everyone would do. I wouldn't have. I think you are all wonderful.

S is fast asleep in the middle of my kingsize bed. He always sleeps bang in the middle, even when I am in it too (DH never in it). Maybe I should just cede the bed to him and try the cot out?

ValiumQueen · 25/01/2014 13:51

Zamboni I considered that last night.

Kyz · 25/01/2014 16:06

Wow guys i'm really behind! Had a bit of an emergency night before last, the rat had to go to the emergency vets. I was cleaning his foot as I have several times a day and some pus came out of one scab, and I wiped it and as I applied the tiniest bit of pressure, blood spurted from the other side of his bite. It would not stop and after it soaked right through a hand towel onto my clothes I thought I honestly cannot fix this, so off he went with dp. He's still there now and it's looking like he might lose the leg and cost me literally a small fortune, it stands at a couple of hundred so far

Other news, E has one of the top back teeth, not the very back one but the one in front. He's not slept brilliantly during the day but is still eating mountains worth of food, I am seriously loving it! He didn't eat much yesterday lunch but seemed in quite a bit of pain then. He has cleared his bowl/plate every meal for almost a week and it is awesome :) I'm sure it'll stop soon but for now I am really chuffed :)

Ok, let me try to catch up, I have about 45 minutes before I need to take him to MIL for the night, she requested him despite the teething (he's slept ok at night time touch wood)

Union rep would be fab for you vq

Eek pass the work situation sounds very stressful, sounds like you're picking up after alot of people :( I'm sorry to hear about ageing pussy not being well too, hopefully though they can control her possible thyroid problem with different food, bless her.

Yay for the gp continuing with the omeprazole bplp also hope you get the paeds appt through asap

Gosh pr hope the dog is ok? Must be the time for poorly pets atm! I have had to pull bits of rope out of the back end of one of my dogs, most alarming! Also bits of binbag. Wonderful!

Isles did you complain about the cut? I would if not totally happy with it. Mind you my sister is a hairdresser so I don't mind telling her if it's not what i would've liked!

flouncy yaaay to the new front door! We desperately need a new one, it's driving me bonkers, takes alot of wiggling the key to get in!

Lily I am so pleased!!! Sat here grinning reading your news :D :D Sorry I wasn't around to wish you luck :(

VQ poor J, glad to hear he's on his way to being better

stunt It must be difficult not knowing what kind of night you're going to have but FC you have a good one tonight!

donna I don't often go but no, E doesn't do concentrating and sitting still!

well done isles for passing the exams, knew you would!

pp woohoo for proper walking :D

can't believe the quiche-versary is coming up! I don't think I was on the first fred, i'll have a look if I get chance, probably tomorrow :)

Glad N is fine after his fall evil and it sounds like you really enjoyed spending the day with him :)

I would love to start trying for number 2 around June/July time but I think it might be better to leave it until the same time of year but 2015, was aiming for about 3 years as an age gap mostly because it's the gap between me and my siblings, practially all of us have that gap and it works really well i've found.

Yay for new car det!! Definitely sounds like O is improving walking outside too :) E is so nosey and follows dogs and children. Terrible!

I'm guessing I'm the only one to not know about local schools. Pretty sure we'll have moved before I need to pay too much attention but you've all got me thinking it's something I should already know about Blush.

jj hope it wasn't too bad a night in the end and hope that tooth pops through soon!

oh pr that's gutting :( hope LO is ok too bless her

zamboni epic post! Also, I too think it nuts to spend 30k to move across the road like that, madness!

£10 for 6 of you lily brilliant value!

Eek vq hope dd2 is well soon.

Mmm pr you've made me hungry! pp i'd probably use leftover mash for bubble and squeak. I had no idea potato cakes were a thing until just now!

yay for weight gain bp

hmm flouncy i'm not sure it's wise for her to be driving but then I guess she might think along the lines of 'i've managed so far' perhaps? I'm not sure.

eek for amoxycillin shower pr it is very sticky stuffs!

no gt yanbu, I don't know how you manage with your MIL I really don't!

I are not looking at sugar content, oh no!

Hope you get away with the TV stunt! :)

eek for car crap eliza hope you have a good night tonight!

yw you've done amazingly well, I think bf is amazing in itself but you've gone above and beyond and I think as much as i'd love to say i'd do the same for E i am not sure i would manage it the way you have, you have my utmost respect and it must be SO bloody hard!

woohoo i've caught up! Sorry i didn't reply to so much of the more recent posts but I started off with the best intentions and what do you know it's four and I have to sort E out to take him to MIL. Am out tonight so probably won't be back until tomorrow

hope good nights are had all round :)

YellowWellies · 25/01/2014 16:47

VQ aye we tried him on a bottle of nutramigen last night - not a chance. "No, no, no" head shaking and shrieking. DH is going to ask for tips from his keyworker when we transition to bottles as he just won't take them from us reliably. I know it's because he knows there's BM available and he'd rather have that - I could be tough, put my foot down and wean him now but by 18 months there'll be more understanding (I hope) when I explain "all gone" I know it's going to be Sad but if we can wait til his language is more advanced I think it might be less traumatic. Also if I can get traces into his diet then hopefully he'll get over it quicker. Well that's the paed's logic and whilst its very dose sensitive we are getting there.

I have made myself feel better by buying a load of booja booja truffles and going to a lovely organic farm shop cafe near us that does awesome freaky eater food. Had a lush curry, garlic mushrooms on toast and a cake. Jonas was addicted to chickpea salad and olives! Smile

PurplePidjin · 25/01/2014 16:49

We were there 30 minutes, 2yo was inbuggy all that time and shouting for 20 minutes. I take R to the park so i don't have to listen to babies crying!

YellowWellies · 25/01/2014 16:54

Pidj my judgy pants would have been so high I'd have been gagging on them... Grin

PurplePidjin · 25/01/2014 17:12
Grin

i finally haze app! tis shut but ho hum. i can find you when the playbook finally gives up the ghost.

r does counting! well, da doo dee whee when he wants you to swing him anyway!

ValiumQueen · 25/01/2014 17:31

Kyz you are amazing Grin

YW. Yep, when BM is around, and the only alternative is Nutrimigen then I don't blame him. Nursery is one thing but he is too bright to do that at home. And of course you are right about the traces. Yay for freaky food cafe and truffles!

PetiteRaleuse · 25/01/2014 17:31

Happy burns night to the Haggis Quichesters. It is today isn't it?

YellowWellies · 25/01/2014 17:39

Yep PR it's today. Haggis, neeps and tatties and (oat milk Hmm yum) whisky cream sauce for tea. I wonder if the bear will like his first taste of haggis?!

StormyIsles · 25/01/2014 17:58

P has just been dispatched to get a haggis supper from the chipper. I totes forgot Blush

ValiumQueen · 25/01/2014 18:03

I forgot too Blush

Pikz · 25/01/2014 18:06

Happy burns!

All the dairy free, caffeine free etc impress me beyond belief. Big hugs

Am shattered tonight

PetiteRaleuse · 25/01/2014 18:19

DH just tripped holding a yoghurt. It's all over us and the sodding kitchen.

Fml

ValiumQueen · 25/01/2014 18:53

The kitchen will never be the same again PRGrin
