I've been googling. Seems you have to inform DVLA about cataracts if they are in both eyes. I'm not sure how bad her vision is just now....

ValiumQueen · 25/01/2014 02:47

I have visions of PR and her family the same colour as the Simpsons Grin It is a very simple thing to mix ABs but there would be some idiot somewhere who would give it in powder form or mixed incorrectly, or with vodka. And then someone would Sue.

All four keeping me up. DH coming to bed late, loud, reading iPad, snoring. J kicking intermittently then waking in pain at 2. I was awake anyway having been medicating and soothing DD2 and have now been clearing up DD1s vomit. I am glad I do not have any pets.

Pikz · 25/01/2014 06:58

VQ Brew

ditsygal · 25/01/2014 07:10

PR sympathising with the Ab's story - I have done similar before with calpol, and also with a bottle of formula milk several times - go to shake it once I've added the powder only for the teat not to be on or suchlike and it to cover the room in yucky neocate. uuuuggghh!

StuntNun · 25/01/2014 07:50

YW my DH discovered that our J is better with half sausages now he's a bit older, he doesn't need them cut up so small not that DH was too lazy to cut them up not at all. I have started frying sausages now though as the skins are much softer than when grilled and J doesn't choke on them.

BigPig great news on your weigh in. What's your goal weight? Mine is 58 kg but from the other direction to you! Wink Clearly you're doing the right thing. You may just have to put up with your MIL if it's only one day a week. Could you go for a drive after to induce a short nap to carry her through until bedtime?

How is P today Pass?

GT was it some subtle attempt by your MIL to imply that you should stop bf? That woman sounds so strange.

How was your Indian meal VQ? Was it worth the effort?

PR I have also decorated the bathroom with Calpol after somebody sideways glare at DH left the lid loose.

After two nights of amazing wonderful brilliant sleep normal service has been resumed in the Stunt household. J was up for an hour in the night screaming and arching his back. It was just like old times. Hmm

I have done a bad thing and I'm not sure how I'm going to get away with it. I bought myself a TV. Shock I'm fed up of DS1 and DS2 monopolising the TV so I can only watch my girly programmes that DH won't watch (Castle, Vampire Diaries) when they are at school. We're stony broke after Christmas so I've stuck it on a 0% credit card deal that doesn't have to be paid off until Feb 2015 i.e. £35 a month. But I don't know what DH is going to say when it turns up on Monday.

We need a quiche retreat, juat for mummies.

flouncymcflouncerson · 25/01/2014 08:05

No point complaining about a bad night here. They usually always are!

I'm dressed early as I have an outpatient appt at the hospital. On a Saturday? At 8.40am?? Totally crazy! I'm a bit worried it's a cruel mistake! I was supposed to be referred back to breast clinic about a lump I found but this appt is for general surgery. I queried it with GP but receptionist says it's correct as the referall was addressed to general surgery/breast clinic. Just seems daft to me. The breast clinic is a one stop shop where they can ultrasound and mammogram if required, plus they have seen me before etc. But this is now a new guy and no facilities to do furthe tests on same day. it's very stupid! And it's very wet and very windy and I don't want to go out.

We've also agreed to take DD swimming today. Lovely idea but it's frozen outside. I really need to wash my hair as it's a bit great like a chip pan but it's too early the now and I see no point in washing and blow drying it for me to get soaked at the baths. So I haven't, and now it's too late to wash before my appt so I'll be going a complete mess! At least Parking should be ok?!

PetiteRaleuse · 25/01/2014 08:43

Morning. My kids are noisy this morning. LO was up and down til 1 then slept til 9. Which is great but I wanted an early night.

Sophiathestormfairy · 25/01/2014 08:45

stunt you have been living in NI too long. Frying sausages indeed. Wink

Hope all is going ok flouncy I am thinking of you right now.

Running out for Saturday papers. What a treat.

This morning is [coffee] poached eggs, a sausage, soda bread and a small pot of beans on the side for those with poo nights. A a big hug from moi.

Sophiathestormfairy · 25/01/2014 08:45

I mean Brew clearly I have not finished mine.

Sophiathestormfairy · 25/01/2014 08:46

Sometimes I am quite Envy when I realise you Are an hour further on in your day than me pr .

ValiumQueen · 25/01/2014 09:10

The meal was pretty dull and was eaten about an hour after it was cooked due to having two babies who would not settle without me. I then had indigestion. If he had got a quick meal, like I asked, then I could have eaten it hot, when I was hungry and ready. I had it around 9.30 after having breakfast at 11.

Hope appt is ok Flouncy. I guess they are looking at a biopsy, hence that clinic. It was similar with mine, but that was 20 years ago.

YellowWellies · 25/01/2014 09:30

Stunt he can handle whole sausages but I wanted them to cool down quick. Clearly the dog prefers them hot!

DH has a cold. You would think it was terminal by the laboured breath and primadonna sighing Envy am such a shit nurse. Grin Jonas will be taught to get on with it....

J was up and down til midnight with a shitty reflux cough. Word to the wise don't eat two Mars bars back to back when your CMPI baby is cutting two teeth Sad still he then slept til 7 so it could have been much worse and would have been in the past.

ValiumQueen · 25/01/2014 09:36

Two Mars Bars YW? Grin How often is he feeding now?

ValiumQueen · 25/01/2014 09:37

Sophia remember PR gets up an hour earlier. But I get what you mean.

Sophiathestormfairy · 25/01/2014 09:59

Following on from our sugar chat the other day has anyone seen the Times today, a. It spread on how much sugar is in stuff. Enlightening.

Sophiathestormfairy · 25/01/2014 10:02

Particularly the banana.

Pikz · 25/01/2014 10:08

I have been to the gym

I have also had a biro exploding accident

L has gone to the drop zone with his daddy. Let's hope he doesn't end up on a plane!

StuntNun · 25/01/2014 10:09

Not true Sophia, my mum and dad only ever fry sausages and they're from Guyana and London respectively.

Big squishy hugs to VQ and YW and anyone else that needs one.

I'm having serious concerns about sugar at the moment. My dad and DH's dad both have type 2 diabetes so it's an issue for our family. Often people have had diabetes for ten years before they are diagnosed because the glucose doesn't spill over into the urine until diabetes is already pretty advanced and the NHS isn't keen on doing blood tests or oral glucose tolerance tests. My FIL's diabetes was only picked up when he was in hospital for a broken ankle and they did routine blood tests. Anyway my thinking at the moment is that all the damage in type 2 diabetes is done by glucose so we should be minimising our glucose intake. My kids love biscuits and sweets and fizzy drinks and Muller Corners and I dread to think just how much sugar they're getting even though we do try to limit their consumption. And fructose isn't so innocent either as it can only be broken down by the liver. My kids aren't so bad for fructose as they're not that mad on fruit but they do have fruit juice once a day, and of course high fructose corn syrup seems to be everywhere as well.

YellowWellies · 25/01/2014 10:15

VQ yep this is why we shouldn't have chocolate in the house at the minute. I've maybe had half a dozen chocolate bars in 13 months but saw the two left in the multi pack from Christmas and thought meh what's the worst that can happen? I know he can handle the dairy in one but need to try to up his challenges.

He's down to 3-4 feeds a day but after me eating dairy he wants to comfort feed constantly.

Am just so sick of 13 months of a heavily restricted diet and folk just offering platitudes of 'anyone would do that for their child' when actually no most don't. And they don't cos it's boring, dull and fucking hard. 13 months of never being able to just eat what I fancy - let alone go out for dinner. Envy And then when you do a dairy challenge everyone (who is happily eating whatever they want) makes you feel guilty. Proper fed up with it today.... Sad

StuntNun · 25/01/2014 10:18

It sucks YW, how long have you got to go? I'm stopping bfing J in May by which point I won't have had an egg, or cake, or pastries or all kinds of fun things for ten months. I honestly don't know how I'm going to reintroduce eggs to my diet as I've been avoiding them for so long. I don't think I could have gone dairy-free though, particularly avoiding traces, it sounds unbelievably tough. I'm also somewhat curious about the effect on my norks when I stop bfing, are they suddenly going to shrink?

l knew raving about my good luck with cars would put the kiss of death on it. Went to bluewater last night to see the hobbit and was supposed to go for tapas first. The traffic was horrendous so came off the A2 to go the back street ways but one of the roads was closed due to flooding so had to go an even more awkward way. In which time my back tyre blew so I limped slowly into the nearest car park at bluewater. We were still there in time for the film at least but ended up with a quick kfc instead of the lovely tapas I was looking forward to. A tow truck towed us home after the film and we only had to wait 30 mins which was something at least. There is a car tyre centre very near to my house and someone came to collect the car and is bringing it back with 2 new tyres so nice and easy. Tyres are so bloody expensive though so will cost us a couple of hundred. Bah. I blame det Grin

Going to a bar in London for a friend's 40th tonight so hope that's more successful. I know I can't shouldn't complain as I'm very lucky to go out twice in a weekend. I just really wanted a bit of quality time with DH. I don't count sitting in a car waiting for a tow truck as quality time. Still it was quite amusing.

DH put this on fb "not quite the hot date night I was expecting. The only thing that got blown was the car tyre". MIL liked it Blush

ditsygal · 25/01/2014 10:28

YW I think you're amazing to have been dairy free for so long. And your right, most people wouldn't do it. I had already moved to formula by the time F was diagnosed with CMPA, but if I hadn't I am sure I would of fairly quickly - I couldn't have gone dairy free all this time, BF was hard enough without that restriction too (although I might have liked the weight I would have lost!). Hugs

Lily311 · 25/01/2014 10:31

stunt good on you and the telly. I'm sure your husband will be fine with it.

It's still snowing, yey. We had our first drop asleep on the carpet, I have pictures Grin.

sophia I'm ahead of uk too. My brother hates me when I text at 7. That's 8 here!

flouncy hope app is ok.

ChasingDaisy · 25/01/2014 10:52

I know what you mean Sophia - I often get jealous when I text Lily at say, 5:30 when I am battling an over tired baby at dinner time and her O is in bed GrinWink

The sugar chat is interesting and has made me look more closely at what I am feeding O, which can only be a good thing.
