pr how awful about your friend. So sorry you won't be able to make the funeral. Sounds like things are really tough in the petite household at the moment. I hope things improve massively soon.

zamboni so glad s got seen by a gp you like. I took both girls to the GP last week for various ailments. I got seen by a fab dr who actually listened to me and offered helpful advice. I was so happy I could have kissed him he was a bit of a looker too which helped. I was very glad to hear he is a new permanent gp so I'll go to him from now on.

StuntNun · 22/01/2014 18:26

GT I had J's eyes checked by the optician, she put drops in to check that he doesn't have a squint. Then they called me back in after six months to verify normal development. He's to go back in a year for one more check on his eyes. Chasing did you ever get O checked out?

How's the bfing going Pidj? Had you said R had looked like he was stopping or did I imagine that?

After a run of bad nights we had the worst ever last night, J must have woken crying 20 times at least. I'm right at the end of my rope with the sleep situation at the moment.

Oh Stunt that sucks Sad . Any clues as to why he was so unsettled? Or just 'for shits and giggles'? Is DH helping out at night?

ValiumQueen · 22/01/2014 20:25

I did post earlier to let you know, but it hasn't appeared.

I didn't get the job, but I am ok about it Thank you for believing in me Thanks

They have appointed someone, so I will get popcorn and enjoy the fireworks Grin

J has had a temp of 40.2 for much of the day apparently. DH was giving him half doses of PCM as he was reading the printed label from when he was 8 weeks old.

Zamboni · 22/01/2014 20:47

VQ Flowers

stunt sympathies re sleep

apple good news re cash! Are Turkey plans sorted now?

Zamboni · 22/01/2014 20:48

Oh, and eliza, yes, a nice GP makes all the difference. Glad you saw a good one too Grin

applepieinthesky · 22/01/2014 20:55

zamboni yes we're getting there. Flights are all booked and paid for, apartment is booked and deposit paid. Just need to sort DP's visa but it's too early at the moment. He has had a visa for Turkey twice before so we know all the documents needed and it shouldn't be a problem.

applepieinthesky · 22/01/2014 21:01

VQ I can't believe they didn't give it to you. Perhaps there's something bigger and better waiting for you? Flowers

Sophiathestormfairy · 22/01/2014 21:02

vq I am am sorry Thanks and most definitely Wine

pr I am also sorry. What a shitty week. One you want to forget no doubt. Glad you have your cooking groove back.

We have had a lovely jubbly day. We ditched the cliquey toddlers and went of to mothercare to spend a load of ELC vouchers. As it was 20% off as well we got a right stash and I got the boys a body warmer (can never bring myself to say gilet) and a couple of tops each as well. I like mothercare clothes I think they are nice quality.

After Os lunchtime sleep and seeing as the sun was shining we decided in an adventure! To a ruined castle on the top of a hills about 20 mins away, was ace, Ds1 had a great run about and explore and O got to test out his Wellies which he thought was hilarious and laughed the whole time. (There was a reason behind today's particular adventure, I have booked to have photos of the four kids in half term and wanted them done outside and the woman suggested a forest lark or this castle, so I thought I should go and have a look. Will defo go with the castle I think)

I have a great feeling of well being and that I have thoroughly enjoyed the boys today.

Sophiathestormfairy · 22/01/2014 21:03

Forest park (amongst other stupid typos)

Kyz · 22/01/2014 21:05

Evening all! Busy day here as had DN until about 3 so had no time to catch up yet

Hope your DN is well soon eliza my sister fusses no end with my DN, if she so much as sneezes she takes her to the doctors.

eek vq I definitely don't envy you, and hope J is feeling better tonight and you get some more sleep! Just read about the ear infection too, poor mite

Hope F is better soon too ditsy

PP Caffeine would be the biggest struggle for me I think. I barely drank coffee during pregnancy/bf (i know i only did it for 8 days but still) and i'm normally an 8-10 mugs a day person Blush

big hugs pr, so sorry about your friend :(

Glad you're better zamboni and fc the referral to paeds is sorted soon

yaay for good news apple!

stunt that sounds really tough :( any reason for his bad nights do you think?

vq Flowers, it's ok, we know you kick ass without getting the job, you're the very bestest

Sounds like a brilliant day sophia!

ValiumQueen · 22/01/2014 21:06

Thank you x One day people will appreciate my talents Grin and in the meantime I can enjoy being a royal pain in the arse. I am going to apply to be a union rep Grin They will wish they had promoted me!

Js temp has come down to under 38 for the first time today. Considered calling 999 earlier. Little sods look like they are dying, then are blowing raspberries and laughing an hour later.

PurplePidjin · 22/01/2014 21:08

pr and vq Thanks

Yes, R looks like he's stopping. Morning feed went on sunday and this evening he latched off and giggled at me. I've been able to help him settle by holding his hand for naps for aaaaages now, hopefully i can transfer that to bedtime and introduce a story in the rocking chair. Will see how the next few days go, this could be a one off he occasionally throws me a night like this where we have to do bedtime the "hard way" Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 22/01/2014 21:11

:o union rep!!! That's a great idea. Will learn them :o

Zamboni · 22/01/2014 21:16

Union rep VQ - genius!!!!!

YellowWellies · 22/01/2014 21:19

VQ booooo Sad you would however make the most kick ass union rep. Do it!

Pikz · 22/01/2014 21:24

Soooo behind on everything

PR massive hugs and for PP

VQ what cocks. They don't know what they have missed.

Sophiathestormfairy · 22/01/2014 21:26

vq I think that is a stonking idea.

StormyIsles · 22/01/2014 21:29

Evening all. Thanks for the suggestions, a combination of my iPhone, her beloved fox and a forbidden box of rollers the hairdresser gave her kept her mostly amused. Appointment lasted nearly 3 years in the end!! Hair is lighter than it was but not as blonde as I asked for. Slightly peeved.

Have read everything but can't remember who/what I was going to reply to. Blush Sorry to hear of sick babies Sad

Oh and my mortgage was approved today Grin Grin Grin The guy last night as suspected was talking utter shite. So subject to P being able to give me the deposit and my offer being accepted, I am hopefully going to buy the original tiny house I fell in love with ! Still have the giant new build to fall back on in September, but despite it's size I much prefer this house. it will also all be mine Fingers crossed please!!

StormyIsles · 22/01/2014 21:31

Sorry VQ - cross posted. Bollocks. But union rep, yes!!!

Passmethecrisps · 22/01/2014 21:31

Evening all.

Sorry to hear about the job and and temperature vq You would have been the bomb ass shit. They obviously have another agenda.

Your night sounds awful stunt. Are things looking better tonight?

Well.

Vague rant alert

I think I am going to have some sort of Michael Douglas falling down type moment at work. Why can supposed professionals not just do the most basic aspects of their job? Why can people not see beyond their own immediate beds and wants and see that the world is bigger and more complex than them? I have spent numerous hours in the last few weeks filling gaps left by others all to ensure that children are safe. How can safety not be at the top of our fucking priority list? And now we find ourselves in the middle of a fucking shitstorm and I am in the midst of shit I never imaged and those same individuals are still untouched.

And then P got sent home from the CM with a temperature of 39.9.

And it looks like ageing pussy might have kidney failure.

Perfect end to a perfect fucking day

Passmethecrisps · 22/01/2014 21:33

Oh cripes. I am sorry for cross posting with half the quiche.

Self indulgent bint

ValiumQueen · 22/01/2014 21:33

3 year hair appointment Grin The house is perfect for you Stormy x

Yep. Union Rep it is Wink

ValiumQueen · 22/01/2014 21:36

Pass you are as far from self indulgent as I am from skinny. Hope P is ok. Has her temp come down? It is scary when they are that hot.

BigPigLittlePig · 22/01/2014 21:36

PR and VQ, and stunt. You all are superstars, and I am so sorry you are all having such hard times. None of you deserve it.

Pidj, sorry things are so hard for you still, and even more sorry if R is pulling off a nursing strike as that will send your hormones and emotions extra wonky.

Isles we have tantrum central here too lately. But not at nursery, oh nooo she's dead smily and happy there. Today she had a tantrum because we had to leave to go home. The workers were all Shock as she is so placid usually.

Had a chat to the gp today about the reflux. He has thank goodness agreed to continue prescribing omeprazole, having previously said he would only do it for 3 months, but has referred F to he paeds so hopefully they will be able to answer some Qs. Her eczema has also flared up in recent weeks, since she went back to nursey, in line wih the reflux being worse. After their previous accidents with the food I am so so twitched about whether she is havig low level exposure to something. But don't want to be paranoid mummy again
