Ninja post,
N did not go to ex's as I got a txt saying he was in hospital.
I'm off to work in...... A few minutes, so N is with my parents as nursery is full today.

Will post later,
Evil

Surely omeprazole is linked to food intolerance due to being prescribed to treat the symptoms of said food intolerance?

R slept through. That means my day started at 5:15 i left him to play for a further hour because i couldn't face the day that early roll on the day i can kick start my day with caffeine Sad coffee flavoured water is not helping today

Sophiathestormfairy · 22/01/2014 07:13

I allow thee real coffee pp Brew

The sophia quiche B and B is back open for business now family is gone.

I pad balance on griddle while I stir porridge, I went to extract O from shoe basket and found DS1 on tip toe trying to make a mumsnet post!

Pikz · 22/01/2014 07:28

< moves in with Sophia >

Commuting sucks

Sophiathestormfairy · 22/01/2014 07:51

Qq how to I get the smell of wee out of a mattress? Blush (not mine you understand. )

YellowWellies · 22/01/2014 08:01

We believe you Sophia (about the mattress) Wink

PP oh no to the fecking decaf! Sad Apparently omeprazole also alters how the stomach deals with some proteins - so its beyond just an association with the type of patients who take it and their preexisting freaky eater tendencies apparently. Confused

VQ Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

We had a better night than I dreaded - he only had me up at midnight then slept til now. Still not cut that toof!

StormyIsles · 22/01/2014 08:23

Can I move in with sophia too? I've had a very stressful morning. Tantrum after tantrum. Complete refusal to do anything. Then all sweetness and light for the childminder. I think she prefers her to me Hmm

I have a hair appointment tonight and I need to take m with me as my mum has pulled out of having her. Any thoughts on how to keep her amused for a couple of hours over bedtime?

fruitpastilles · 22/01/2014 08:32

Big hugs vq xxx

Erm no idea soph I'm dreading that stage already! 1 more and a little one here ready and waiting to move in!

isles I normally keep S quiet with books, she also has a little bag that sings when you open it and has things like keys, mirror, comb and something else that I haven't figured out what it is in it, that keeps her quiet for ages, does M have anything like that?

Sophiathestormfairy · 22/01/2014 08:35

Hugs for stormy and fruit

Snacks stormy is all I can think of!

ditsygal · 22/01/2014 08:37

pennie F has gone through stages of constant teeth grinding - they can last a few weeks and then he stops it again. I just ignore it cringing the whole time at the hideous noise and they stop doing it eventually. I find it comes back every now and again, particularly when teething.

On the sweets/chocolate front. I am somewhere inbetween I guess. I am not overly strict, he is allowed a small DF choc every now and again, or a biscuit or small bit of cake, and maybe a few times a week he will have an oaty biscuit or something like that, so a treat but not a terrible one. But most of the time dessert is fruit or a wotnodairy yoghurt and snacks are bread, rice cakes, organix snacks, fruit or breadsticks.

F has woken up full of snot this morning, and is also teething. Not sure if the snot is teething or cold, thinking its probably another cold. grrrrr

fruitpastilles · 22/01/2014 08:42

We haven't heard from pr for a while! I know she's ok as we have been playing wwf, but where are you pr?

Lily311 · 22/01/2014 09:00

Morning,
Sophia, I'm coming too.
Pr, where are you?
Isles, snacks? iPad? Books?
Evil, what happened?

We had lots of wake ups , not sure why. Looking forward to her lunch time nap so I can tackle assignment.

PurplePidjin · 22/01/2014 09:04

YW I've been caffeine free for a year now due to bf. Nothing like your df challenges but i really really really miss chocolate Sad

Satsumas i cut the segments in half, whole ones get squished but bite sized chunks get wolfed down Hmm

R eats what i eat, i try not to have too much sweet stuff therefore it isn't in the house to offer him. I won't deny either of us a Biscuit or Cake if offered though Wink

ChasingDaisy · 22/01/2014 09:46

I'm coming too Sophia!

PR come back please x

Hats off to all dairy/caffeine free-ers. Legends, all of you.

Isles, M is such a little character. Your description of her last night was so lovely Smile Totally sympathise with the tantrums, they are a regular hourly occurrence here.

Oh, teeth grinding. O does it. I hate it. I try to ignore it. I don't gently poke him in the cheeks to get him to stop, oh no...

YellowWellies · 22/01/2014 10:25

PP you have my sympathies on the caffeine free year - life without chocolate (and I'm not a particularly sweet toothed person, but I always want something if I know I can't have it!!) is poo. A nice treat that sometimes satisfies that chocolate hit for me is a decaf coffee with coconut milk and gingerbread syrup in it - it feels really extravagant and lush. and I honestly don't drink it thinking mmm a kitkat chunky would be the perfect accompaniment to this oh no!.

Isles I hate having to get him out of the house in a morning to the nursery when he is the slightest bit emotional - it's just a bloody nightmare. We currently only really have tantrums over things he wants but isn't allowed. Yesterday it was onion I was chopping in the kitchen, I gave him some to try in the end and he was all Shock and Confused. As for keeping him free for 2 hours - contraband works best here. My purse, phone, a pack of wipes, a bottle of squash (not opened but to be shaken and rolled around). Otherwise wee books can keep him happy and in one spot for easily half an hour if he's in the right mood and getting a cuddle too. And snacks. He's such a gannet that a bag of organix or an apple is a godsend too. Good luck! Not the sort of chilled out 'me time' you were no doubt anticipating for a hair appointment.

Interestingly he spotted his bottles that he has at nursery being packed into his bag this morning and was hooting 'dat, dat!!!' and pointing vehemently. I hope this means that weaning him off the boob will be easier than I'm dreading. He clearly is developing a taste for the minging potato milk. OMG the fat life of chocolate and cheese will be mine!

PetiteRaleuse · 22/01/2014 10:35

I'm reading the thread but not got much to say. Tough week. Hugs to all that need them x

YellowWellies · 22/01/2014 10:47

Boo PR sorry to hear you are having a tough time. Is illness still stalking your household? Sad

fruitpastilles · 22/01/2014 11:31

Sounds like you need a hug too pr?!

applepieinthesky · 22/01/2014 12:26

What's wrong pr?

Missing my boy today. He was asleep when I left for work and will be tired and grumpy by the time I get home this evening Sad

PetiteRaleuse · 22/01/2014 13:22

Just tired, still ill, demotivated through illness and lack of sleep. An old friend from Paris died at the weekend leaving his lovely wife who is one of my dearest friends widowed with two boys. He was about 38 I think. Maybe 39. It was expected but I don't think I am going to be able to get back to Paris for the funeral as I am not really well enough. We just received a huge unexpected bill. DH is miserable in his job, but I don't see any way out of that for now. My work situation is going to come to a head soon and I am stressed about that. I've learned some stuff about school for DD1 which means going back to work full time will be impossible anyway. Had to turn down a job offer at a good company because of that and the ongoing bollocks.

The girls seem well though for now though there is a case of scabies at nursery which I just know will be our next problem. Though we have escaped the two headlice outbreaks so you never know.

Just feeling redundant and pissed off about various other things.

I am getting my cooking mojo back and have a really delicious ragu on the stove so my house smells great :)

Zamboni · 22/01/2014 13:25

Hugs all round it seems.

I'm better and back at work. Poor S is ill again. Fucking bastarding cough. He's puking twice a day, entirely cough related. DH took him to the GP, expecting to be fobbed off yet again, like I was between xmas and NYE, and actually saw our lovely GP, who gave us some antibiotics and a referral back to the paeds. So FX that comes through quickly.

Otherwise Brew Cake Thanks all round (all caffeine and dairy free)

ValiumQueen · 22/01/2014 13:35

Not caught up.

Ear infection. On antibiotics. Good call Evil x

applepieinthesky · 22/01/2014 14:40

DP has had some good news today about an accident he had at work in October. He put in a claim for compensation, thinking it was worth a shot but not really expecting much. We hadn't heard anything since November but got a letter in the post from the solicitor today and DP's employer have offered a sum to settle the claim. Not a bad sum but the solicitor says it's not a very attractive offer and we should push for more. It will be our spending money for Istanbul with some left over too so that would be a weight off my shoulders. We won't have to watch the pennies quite as much Grin

GTbaby · 22/01/2014 15:51

Arghhh havnt fed since 6am my boob is killing me. Took H to dr app and left A with mil.
Dr doesn't think he has a squint but will take another measurement in 3months to compare.

Right off to catch up while I feed

applepieinthesky · 22/01/2014 16:40

It all sounds very stressful pr. So sad about your friend x
