Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Evening all.

VQ glad you enjoyed the interview. Hope J and your knickers are ok though. How long til you find out? Will gladly hold a hand for as long as is necessary.

Chasing it sounds v positive re: work, hopefully you can find something that you love.

Det F has lots of fruit too, I think as long as they can tolerate it (was it Pidjs R who had a jippy tum wih fruit?), then the more fruit and veg the better.

Interesting sugar chat. Growing up, my mum had the same approach as YWs mum. Dhs mum bought sweets, cakes and food treats all the time, and they all struggle with their weight and self control when it comes to food. Dh comfort eats when stressed like I have never seen. So am v keen for F to avoid that unhealthy attitude. She has porridge with fruit, and bread & butter at breakfast, puddings during the week are fruit, or fake yoghurt, and snacks are savoury (ritz crackers are the most exciting thing here) or fruit. At the weekend, they can have treats after meals. Strict? Maybe. But the difference when someone elsehas had both girls, and ged them sugarys shitm is remarkable. So I shall remain strit for now!

BigPigLittlePig · 21/01/2014 20:27

Good luck Lily Thanks

ValiumQueen · 21/01/2014 20:33

No idea when will hear.

J is a poorly boy.

DH is a twat - I told him I had put the washing on for a rinse as it was covered in vom, so it needs washing still. What does he do? Puts it in the dryer so my best clothes will stink of vom for ever more. Grr!

ValiumQueen · 21/01/2014 20:33

Good luck Lily Thanks

PurplePidjin · 21/01/2014 20:35

Not gyppy as such but he poos in the night. He had a bit of nakd bar on Saturday and pood that night so it might just be dates and dried apricots? Actually he had a fresh apricot yesterday and a bad night although no poo. Hmm Hmm

Good luck lily prolonged stuff like thus is the worst. Hopefully VQ won't have too kuch of a wait either Wine and where's the new hair pic missis

BigPigLittlePig · 21/01/2014 20:49

Envy VQ. Truly gross.

YellowWellies · 21/01/2014 20:49

Yes VQ new hair piccy!!!

Apparently the R4 medical programme starting at 9pm has a big scary sounding feature about omeprazole - do I want to find out scary stuff about the wonder drug that gave me my baby back and stopped him coughing up blood? Confused

BigPigLittlePig · 21/01/2014 20:52

YW don't listen to it. You have no alternative to that wonder drug, so there is no sense in worrying about what ifs, and maybes. We prescribe it all the time, lots, and yes there are some side effects, but look at the good it has done for so many of our poor babies. Shall stop lecturing now.

YellowWellies · 21/01/2014 20:57

I know. I know its linked to long term food intolerances (which worries me) I don't need to find out other horrors. As you say we have no other option. Thanks BP Smile

BigPigLittlePig · 21/01/2014 21:22

Linked to, but not the direct cause of. Important difference. The children who have ompeprazole will by definition have worse reflux and proobably more severe intolerance in he first place. So more likely to have long term ishoos. You can spin the facts and figures inmany ways Smile

Passmethecrisps · 21/01/2014 21:23

Step away from the telly yw!

Just in from work. Pooped

So glad the pom poms made you feel good vq. Can't wait to hear if you get it.

The CM turned p into a proper toddler as well isles. It is wonderful.

P gets lots and lots of fruit. She is pretty self-selecting actually. She gets some sweet things but she can take or leave it mainly. Long may that continue.

Elizadoesdolittle · 21/01/2014 21:23

Well done vq. Hope J's temp comes down.

lily Love that O learnt Giraffe. Massive of lucks with the ongoing battle. I really hope you get somewhere this time.

I have no idea what my parents attitude to me having sugar was when I was growing up. I guess that's a good thing as I don't remember it being an issue. I don't have a particularly sweet tooth. If out for dinner I'd much rather have a starter than dessert and I'd quite often rather have a cheese board. Which I realise is just as fattening as a chocolate pudding!

Passmethecrisps · 21/01/2014 21:24

Me too eliza! I would run you over for crisps but chocolate can be meh.

StormyIsles · 21/01/2014 21:31

I probably wouldn't listen to it YW - I have a tendency to get myself really worked up over things.

House news was tonight. Appointment was late so I missed yoga Angry and still no further forward really. I have found a house to rent as a back up though, and worst case scenario I will live there for 6 months to a year and then buy the new build. Feeling a bit meh about it all.

lily good luck for Thursday. I have my final exams then so will be thinking of you x

StormyIsles · 21/01/2014 21:32

In short though, yes I can buy the house I like and yes they will lend me what I need. But it is P's ability to provide my deposit but not be party to my mortgage which is the sticking point even though it really fucking shouldn't be Angry

Kyz · 21/01/2014 21:38

Evening one and all, hope all is well? Bet you did fab in your interview vq

For news here, i'm another £20 down for the poorly rat meds BUT his cultures came back as sensitive to most abs so that's always good. He is no better nor no worse re the leg but his abcessed bites on his back are starting to heal really well now, and his tail is looking good too. So good news, I think.

Other news, E doesn't like gravy I don't think. I tomatoed cottage pie for him today and whilst he didn't eat masses he did eat it. Could he really not like gravy? I guess i've heard of stranger things. Will see how we go with our gravy trials, or not gravy trials I should probably say!

yw E's room is a nightmare, I need to sort through his clothes and am getting there but it's taking its time!

Raisins are a good snack gt e has been having them for a long time, similar to dets o :) Snacks here are also similar to det and sometimes I give the fruit pouches as a snack, or a boiled egg cut into 4 'fingers'

det I don't think he's having too much, I think he has more than e but e has more than the 5 a day i reckon

I'm for the everything in moderation too, besides, E is pretty fussy, and cheerios tend to go down well sometimes Currently he selects fruit over say chocolate buttons or something (not a whole packet, half a dozen at most!)

Bless her eliza hope she's better soon

No idea on the teeth grinding pennie e does it too!

That sounds really positive chasing well done!

sounds like he slept really well pp to not wake up through being changed!

Yay glad it went well vq hand holding as required but yay for it going well :D hope J is better, and eek re the knickers!

thechick I give smaller oranges eg satsumas in segments, I used to give him big oranges quartered with the skin on to suck to death but then mil said oh doesn't he love satsumas he powers through them and I wasn't sure, I hadn't dared give them to him! I asked how he had them and he had them in segments and sure enough he eats them quicker than I can peel them!

bless him yw I hope the teefs pop through soon! Also don't watch the tv thingy, and definitely don't feel guilty about giving him something he needed

aww isles that sounds so cute! They're growing up so quickly atm though aren't they! I said to dp earlier that E surprises me with at least one thing every day recently. Nuts!

will have everything crossed for you on Thursday am lily

Sophiathestormfairy · 21/01/2014 21:38

I too have crisps and bread as my weakness and never really liked sweets as a child.

As I said earlier, where I don't have loads of sugary treats I the house, if any, I don't ban them and I allow them In moderation. Both DDs are like me, can not be fussed with sweets and chocolate and have a really healthy attitude to food. I suspect the boys will have a sweet tooth like DH. If I have something in then he will just eat it in one sitting. We have home cooked fresh meals and a bit of everything so I am not worried. I love cooking and am interested in food so they should be exposed to lots of new and interesting tastes

And, please don't flame, DS1 made a rice crispie cake at nursery today and I let him have it after his tea (pirate stew (pearl barley, carrots, cabbage and a bit of shredded ham in that I had baked at the weekend)went down well) and there is nothing like a little boy with a big grin on his face and chocolate smeared all round his mouth!

Kyz · 21/01/2014 22:05

sophia no flaming from me, sounds like a lovely image!

YellowWellies · 21/01/2014 22:19

Sophia rice krispie cakes are an essential part of childhood!

Isles boo to sodding small print and red tape Sad good you've got a back up plan.

We've had two wake ups already - its going to be a long night. Envy Come on toof! Poor wee manny, it must be very sore as he's miserable.

BigPigLittlePig · 21/01/2014 22:24

Teeth are weird, I've decided. F had a load throughben masse at the beginning. Now she has been stuck with those 7 for months, not even symmetrical. But bas seemed to be teething for ages?? Weird I tell thee.

Off to bed to,
a) sleep, and
b) dream of crispie cakes.

Elizadoesdolittle · 21/01/2014 22:26

sophia I don't think anybody could criticize that. You have such a healthy attitude to food and are always in the kitchen providing lovely home cooked food. Glad your DS enjoyed.

pass I'd never of guessed Grin

My poor DN has a cold at the moment too. Whilst I don't wish her ill, it is quite funny watching my DSIS deal with it. She is being quite a fusser over it. I've helped immensely by telling her to basically man up. My DSIS that is, not my DN. I'm not that mean that I'd say that to a 6 month old baby!

Passmethecrisps · 21/01/2014 22:44

Rice crispie cakes are delish are part of your 5 a day! Probably.

One day isles you will make this move and it will be perfect and you will throw a magnificent house party complete with fairy lights and matching napkins.

YellowWellies · 21/01/2014 23:51

Pass they're definitely one of your five a day if made with a Terry's chocolate orange Grin

ValiumQueen · 22/01/2014 06:08

Sleep is for wimps Hmm

J has been a hot poorly boy all night and meds barely touching his temp so DH will be taking him to the Doctor to see if he needs ABs. I hate hate hate that I have to go to work and leave my sick baby when I have had about 2 hours broken sleep.

Pikz · 22/01/2014 06:32

VQ huge hugs and Brew
