Aw blizy, so cute! I love his babygro too :) shame about the shit midwife, grr.

Ledkr what fab news, how's ds doing now? Love the image of him and his mates celebrating :)

Tarlia hello! Really nice to hear from you again, big Grin at very specific zebra themed party, I will keep an eye out for you! We are having a joint party with A's pal who's birthday is the day before hers, should be great (and half the cost) except that A and her friend have a real 'love/hate' relationship, they're either best friends or each other's nemesis's (however it's spelled) so I'm just hoping they don't have a spectacular fall out prior to party day Hmm

Granny I laughed at your dh being tired after N was born. Reminds me that dp threw up about half an hour after A was born, then went home later with my mum who stayed the night, he was in bed asleep by 9pm after saying how worn out he was! Ha!

A is coughing away like mad this evening, it's not woken her up so far but it kep me awake last night (sad face). Nursery tell me about half the kids there have got coughs at the moment, not good.

We are hopefully getting a moving date tomo. I say that, but bet we don't Hmm I have a horrible feeling it will get pushed back until the moving date will be right near A's bday (most moves are on a Friday apparently) and then we'll have to put it off til the weekend after. Fingers crossed!

Ledkr · 20/01/2015 15:54

blizy thanks for the pics for us few non face bookers. What a little beauty too and very like Zoe isn't he? You must be so happy after all you went through, dh was really pleased too, he said he often thinks of you and dh.

Well ds is coming home today, he's nowhere near ready but they need the bed, he spent last night in a little treatment room, it's shocking.
He's about an hour away and we said we could get him around 7 due to work and panto commitments so they are PAYING FOR A CAB.

D is having her party on the 1st. A frozen one of course. Dh is decorating the hall (no I can't stand them in my house) and Ella is being elsa and singing and dancing with them and face painting them.
She is so excited and we have to discuss it daily.
Ella's actual birthday is tomorrow, d isn't best pleased and cries if we mention it, "it's my birthday" she wails.

PonyoLovesHam · 20/01/2015 19:51

Ah party sounds great ledkr. Though I'm surprised Ella is being Elsa, I would have thought only D could be Elsa on her special day!

Today I picked up A from pre school and they gave me a laminated picture she'd drawn, and they'd written on it what she'd said when she'd drawn it. She'd drawn herself in an Elsa dress and it said "I'm a little bit white and a little bit brown" Grin dp and I were laughing about it, especially as she often gets in a bit huff if you tell her she's a mixture, she gets all stroppy "I'm NOT!" etc HmmGrin

She's also getting into the idea of going to school, and likes to talk about "when I'm a schooler" which is making me laugh too.

Blizy how's it going?

moving day a week on fri, please keep your fingers crossed for me!

blizy · 20/01/2015 21:27

Ledkr, hope your DS is
Ok and recovers quickly.
Dillys party sounds fab, I love that Ella is performing for her.

Not had a good day, midwife came this morning and Alex has lost 15% of his weight and is down to 6lb8oz from 7lb 15oz. We were sent into hospital and told he was perfectly healthy but have to wake to feed every 3 hrs and top up with formula or expressed milk.
My milk has finally came
In son that will help.
I managed to express
20 ml on my first try. Midwife is coming daily to weigh him, so fingers crossed for a gain tomorrow.
I'm on antibiotics as my wound is infected.

wigglesrock · 21/01/2015 10:31

Ledkr - happy birthday Ella Smile, we have to talk about Annas birthday regularly too, although that's more of a presents want!!! Hope ds continues to do well, now he's home. The night before my Dad had his op, there was no room for him on the ward and they had to clear out the day room and wheel his bed in there - the supplies room was also in there, so there were constantly people in and out.

Blizy - how are you doing today sweetheart? Hope all goes well with the midwife. You are doing brilliantly xxxxx

Ponyo - oh exciting - a date for the move!! Am sure you can't wait to get it done with now. Smile at As "I'm not ", we have a lot of "I'm nots" with Anna. If I say day, she says night!!!!!

Grannyapple · 27/01/2015 04:33

Hey ladies, hope all is well?

blizy hope all is well with that lovely boy of yours. Hope the feeding is going ok/better now?

ponyo did you get a move sar?

ledkr hope DS is still doing well after the transplant?

Found out on friday that my role at work will no longer exist on my return in October (well actually from April as that is when the new roles from the restructure go live).

I've had to ask the question as to whether a part time role has been considered but hoping they come back & say no (likely) so I can take VR. Timing may work out well would mean I could take another year off whilst trying to manage school runs/ Nate's 1st yr at school...

Right I think the boy has finished feeding so off to try & get some more kip x

Grannyapple · 27/01/2015 04:34

Move sar (wtf?) = move date obviously! Typing whilst bfing ain't good for me...

blizy · 27/01/2015 21:15

Hi granny, hope you get what you want regarding work.
Alex has completely refused to breast feed since Sunday, he fed brilliantly on the Saturday but first feed on Sunday he refused and screamed. I have been expressing for him but introducing formula today as the expressing is really not sustainable in the long term, it's far to time consuming and would mean I can only leave the house for an hour or two at a time.
I am happy with my decision. Is after spending days in tears feeling like i had let him down.

Grannyapple · 27/01/2015 22:30

Quite right blizy..you do what you have to do make sure you can feed baby, no matter what. I think we sometimes forget that we are lucky to have formula here & how easy it is to get & use it...it's not the worst thing ever as it's sometimes portrayed. I mix fed both N & A til 6 & 9 wks...Adam is 13 wks now & still bfing him tho I'm introducing more bottles now as like you, it's a nightmare trying to leave at the best times with 3, never mind 2 hrly breastfeeding session days
& then expressing! There's loads of positives to formula feeding, not least the freedom & knowing exactly what they're getting. I have friends who were the exact same & felt the guilt etc...but they says inventory had made their decision & were happy with it, they felt like a huge weight had been lifted from them.

I've asked for VR today...to be honest, I think my employer are being very careful & doing what they can...so I'm feeling ok about it & means I can take an extra year off whilst trying to get my head around school runs etc..

Give that gorgeous boy of yours big squishy cuddles... xx

Grannyapple · 27/01/2015 22:31

Inventory=once (don't ask!!)

wigglesrock · 28/01/2015 07:09

Blizy - glad you're feeling settled about feeding Alex, I can't really talk, I ff all 3 of mine from word go. He really is a gorgeous boy and looking at the photos of FB, a perfect mixture of the two of you Smile, he's really really stretching out as well. How are you feeling? How's your scar and other childbirth related delights?

Grannyapple - I hope vr works out for you, AI have a few friends in very similar positions, all hoping for it. I can't believe how old Adam is, the time is really flying!!

Ponyo - all packed up? !!!!!

Tarlia · 28/01/2015 09:54

How are you feeling today Blizy? Sorry to hear bf hasn't worked out, you have not let Alex down at all. Feeding is such a small portion or parenting, we put too much on ourselves to be sucessful, when actually CS can really affect it along with many other factors. Pssst DH can do his lions share of night feeds while you recover. I hope you aren't in too much pain xx

grannyapple are you on your third since 2011??

Almost our first thread birthday!? Is it D first, ledkr?
I cannot believe they are all turning four, where do those years fly to??

Grannyapple · 28/01/2015 13:35

tarlia...yes I am, for my sins Smile...tho there won't be anymore...DH had the snip last Tuesday night Grin

Yeah wiggs i think I am one if the few of my friends who wasn't made redundant/doneca compromise agreement after their first/2nd...iI'll be asking you for hints/tips how to stay sane with 3 at home at varying points..

PonyoLovesHam · 28/01/2015 13:48

Hello everyone,

Blizy how's it going? I was a ff from the start with A (pretty much) I agree that your dh can do some night feeds! And day feeds actually... Wink He is such a gorgeous little boy and looks so like you.

Our move date was meant to be this Fri but we found out yesterday it's not going ahead bcos someone up the chain has messed up Angry I am so pissed off, we had started booking everything we needed to, re arranging post etc etc.

And now it looks like it could take up to a month to resolve Confused I have said we aren't moving on the weekend of A's birthday but don't know if we should just go for it if we can move then. Also our buyer is threatening to pull out because of all this which means we will be well and truly fucked!

So I thought I'd come on here and have a big moan Wink it's so frustrating though because if it all falls through it could have consequences for A's school as well. Bah.

blizy · 28/01/2015 15:15

Oh my goodness, what can I say? Dh and I are truly humbled by your thoughts and generosity, thank you all a million times over. The gifts are amazing, I love the little rainbow, it will look fab in A's room. Dh and I are looking forward to,ordering some yummy food (makes a change from beans on toast and sandwiches!), it will be hard going to not use the vouchers up on the cake!
You bunch of woman are amazing and I wish we all lived closer, A would love to give you all a squishy hug to say thanks.
Much love
blizy
X

blizy · 28/01/2015 15:21

Tarlia, I'm feeling fine, I've not really been in pain and stopped taking pain killers a few days ago.
Dh is fab with A and me, he does his fair share of feeds and nappy changes.
A has taken to formula, he is a little piggy! He will be weighed on Friday so hope he is back to of over his birth weight... But oh my poor boobs, they are so huge and engorged, any tips on what helps?

Ponyo, that sucks about the house, I hope it's just a blip bad everything works out in the end.

PonyoLovesHam · 28/01/2015 15:32

Yay!!! Blizy your post has made me smile after being a mardy cow all day Grin Can I say a big thanks to reastie for organising the whole thing, she's a star Smile
Hope you get some yummy food ordered, I'm jealous! Wink
No advice re boobs sorry, I'm sure someone knowledgable will be along soon...

Grannyapple · 28/01/2015 15:38

Yes reastie put her organisation skills to good use Grin

Food in there is a godsend...we've got one of the shops round the corner from us..Is a curse as well as a godsend as it's turned me into a lazy cook at times Smile.

Grannyapple · 28/01/2015 15:43

flusteredmumto2 · 28/01/2015 15:44

Just managing to catch up a bit.
Blizy he is a cutie and I'm so glad he's here. R.e boobs. After Cari I found a warm shower on them and a light express would ease the pressure when I stopped Bf and went to ff. Please don't feel guilty about ff, give yourself a break!

Grannyapple · 28/01/2015 15:50

We've had an eventful morning here...nate & amelia were carrying on in the kitchen last Wednesday...she leaned forward to cuddle him, he moved out the way giggling, & she fell flat in her face onto wooden floor, chipping her front tooth. Dentist yesterday said she needed an X-ray at Kings to rule out infection/damage to adult tooth. Couldnt get x ray (unsurprising)..but they could see her tooth has started decaying at root...so she's moe booked in for day case surgery next Thursday morning to have tooth removed. Her wee cute smile will change, bless her. I gave sand trauma from a fight with my sis when I was 12...hope she makes nate feel v guilty when she's older!

Reastie · 28/01/2015 15:50

Yay blizy glad it arrived. Just so you know, you've got enough vouchers to get free delivery if you want it.

ponyo what's the latest on the move?

OP posts:
PrincessOfChina · 28/01/2015 15:51

Glad it's all arrived blizy - enjoy!

americanexpat · 28/01/2015 16:12

blizy - we don't judge if you use the vouchers on cake. Grin FWIW, L was mixed fed from about 10 days and sometimes refused BF when he was going through a growth spurt (it was more work than a bottle). A few days later he'd be fine. I felt really guilty as first as well, but as everyone else said, it's not the end of the world.

Ponyo - I hope you get the move sorted soon.

Granny - congrats (?) on the VR. Grin

wigglesrock · 28/01/2015 16:22

blizy am so glad it's arrived - reastie was an absolute star getting it all together.

ponyo shite about the house, hope it all gets sorted quicker than you think xxx
granny poor A, my god daughter had exactly the same thing happen last year - tooth was removed with no bother, was also a big brother related injury Smile

I'm scundered with myself, was checking Sofias homework & she was stuck on a maths question - I know the answer but don't know how to work it out if you know what I mean Blush , bloody fractions!!
