Also, cake in the party bag? Don't you eat cake at the birthday party? Confused

PonyoLovesHam · 14/01/2015 17:08

Hm yes, most places do cake in the party bag actually Blush I think we did last year!
A went to a party a few months ago and there was one cheap cake for the kids, and another massive cake to give to the adults during the party! And it was the nicest cake I think I have ever had Smile think big American style icing etc. mmmmmm Grin (I did not share it with A)

Reastie · 14/01/2015 18:54

It's funny as every party I've been to with Alice they bring the cake out after the party tea (where we've been given cakey things already) to sing happy birthday and blow out the candles then it gets whipped away for cutting to go into slices for the party bag. We've never actually had a slice of cake given during the party.

Have now printed most of the party invites but still not quite worked out who we'll invite. Got invites ready for Alice's nursery to hand out tomorrow and just dressed up as the white rabbit (it's a Wonderland themed party) to give Alice the invites as a surprise (DH says the costume is really scary so we need to desensitise her to it so she won't cry at her party Confused ). It was so funny. She burst into giggles and just said 'Mummy, why are you dressed as a rabbit?'. How did she even know it was me??!! I can hear her talking to DH in the bathroom now saying 'I'm going to ask Mummy if she was the white rabbit' Grin . It's such a hot costume I'm going to be sweating like goodness knows what.

Blizy - just wanted to send you lots of love for tomorrow. I'm hoping you can get some sleep tonight xxx

Reastie · 15/01/2015 07:28

Blizy I can't believe it's the Bob o clock 15th already. Thinking of you today and will be keeping an eye out for updates. xx

Hey all, I just popped on to wish Blizy good luck but I see on FB she's popped already. Such wonderful news.

Hugs to those of you dealing with the dreaded Big C at the moment. My uncle has lung cancer but touch wood is doing week after an op and just has to have a couple of goes at chemo. My aunt has MND and that's less good. I really don't want to get older and deal with this stuff.

Glad to see some fellow party planners. R is having a soft play job - although everyone keeps saying yes so it's going to cost us a bomb! Still, better than having 10 kids in our house. Plus 20 parents! I need to sort party bags...I saw yours reastie and not sure my idea of Frozen tat is quite the same!

Baby 2 is getting big, I'm just over 28 weeks now so starting to feel it with tiredness and stuff. He's managing to be v awkward - oblique breech so literally tap dancing on my bladder, a low placenta and I keep getting sugar in my urine but then pasing the GTT with flying colours. All means LOTS of hospital appointments!

Did ledkr flounce over Christmas? I saw her getting a bit of a flaming and not sure I've seen her since. My baby brain means I can't even recall the thread!

blizy · 15/01/2015 20:36

Alex Joseph arrived today at 9:15am weighing in at 7lb 15oz. He is amazingly perfect, a special little brother for Zoe.

I'm doing ok, a bit sore and emotional now that Dh had to leave for the night.

wigglesrock · 15/01/2015 20:59

Blizy - congratulations again, what a beautiful name. I'm sure Zoe would be delighted with her little brother. How long will you have to stay in for? Am sure it's been a wonderful, but also very emotional day. Hope you can get some rest, give your son an extra special squeeze from me xxxx

americanexpat · 15/01/2015 22:15

blizy - ah, I'm so happy for you, such wonderful news. Are you on the regular post natal ward? I hope you're able to get a bit of sleep tonight.

Grannyapple · 16/01/2015 05:58

Aw gorgeous name blizy, 2 beautiful names for your two beautiful children. Such lovely news, give him a big squish from all of us x

Aw I bet your emotional...and I'm sure he didn't want to leave either. Hope you get some rest & make sure you buzz those nurses for help & get pain relief from them! Hope you get some rest..xx

PS, I remember DH texting me the next morning after having nate saying he didn't want to leave us...& how he was knackered after 7 hrs sleep (we'd been up for 30 odd hours leading up to Nate arriving)...well let's just say he got a bit of a shock that first night home ??.

PrincessOfChina · 16/01/2015 10:57

Gorgeous name! Congratulations again, enjoy these first few days.

PonyoLovesHam · 16/01/2015 11:23

Oh blizy what a lovely name, I hope you managed some rest last night (not likely!) and you've got dh with you today. Lots of love to you all x x

blizy · 16/01/2015 17:07

Thanks girls, yip regular PN ward it's not too bad, I'm being looked after. Alex is still getting to grips with feeding but doing well. Last night was brutal though, he didn't sleep
Until 5am and screamed the whole night. I'm loving every second of it though. Hopefully getting home tomorrow.

Reastie · 16/01/2015 17:28

blizy congratulations, it's such wonderful news. Let the sleepless nights commence Grin . Fingers crossed for getting home and a little more sleep tonight. Be gentle on yourself and don't try to do too much too soon after the op.

Oh Blizy I'm so so happy for you, I'm sobbing! Congratulations on you rainbow baby! Will you put a photo in your profile, please?? I want to see Zoe's little brother. Much love.
I've not visited the thread in months, too embarrassed after my stupid insensitivity, but tonight for some reason I wanted to check on you, so glad I did.

Wishing all of our 2011 babies a very happy upcoming fourth birthday, where have the years gone? Can see we have frozen and Alice parties- reatie love the rabbit, you are so sweet. DS1 has chosen a Zebra theme, not jungle, Zebra. Wish me luck. Going to go read a few pages back. Love to you all xx

blizy · 17/01/2015 00:46

Tarlia, you are not insensitive at all!
I'll get a pic on when I get home. Alex is refusing to go in his
Cot again tonight and has been pretty much attached to
My boob. I am getting home tomorrow so plan to sleep as much as I can at home.

Ledkr · 17/01/2015 09:42

Hi all. Sorry for my absence and congratulations blizy on your little rainbow. What a Marvelous name.
You must be feeling so many different emotions right now but I hope it's mostly joy because you certainly deserve it. Xx
Well I didn't flounce no. I've been busy with normal life and Christmas and ds being on dyalisis.
Last Tuesday we went to bed and were just dropping off when d decided to come in our bed and vomit on us and everywhere.
After cleaning up and settling back down we got a call at 4.20 from the renal unit to say THEY HAD A KIDNEY.
So after much tired traveling and anxious waiting my ds had his new kidney at midnight and us doing great.
So so grateful to the donor and family, I've cried many times for them.
Many people all under thirty had their lives saved by them.
I didn't post on main boards just in case anyone was on here that might work It out iyswim.
Life will be easier now so I can pop by.
Ds party is late this year due to E being in panto.
E had her birthday skeepover last night, I had to be very shouty at 1am. Grin

Reastie · 17/01/2015 09:52

Ledkr that's such fabulous news, I'm so pleased about the new kidney. How is he doing post op?

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 17/01/2015 11:09

ledkr - such good news. Obviously very sad circumstances but I'm very pleased for you all especially your ds. I really hope he recovers well. Don't leave it so long next time Smile

Tarlia - lovely to hear from you, hope you are all doing well. Also can't believe the babies will be 4 soon !!!

Blizy - hope you get out today xxxx

PrincessOfChina · 17/01/2015 20:26

ledkr V glad you didn't flounce and also v glad to hear about the kidney. What a huge relief.

blizy A is gorgeous. Enjoy him, despite the lack of sleep.

Tarlia I'm sure I've seen zebra striped party stuff. Might have been on Party Pieces.

DD has been a total ass hat today. Screaming in the street, being rude, hitting. You name it, she's done it. I'm going to a spa day tomorrow and I'm so in need of it. Not least cos I can't reach my toes to paint the nails.

Ledkr · 17/01/2015 21:18

Me flounce? Come on, you all know me so well, I couldn't give a flying.
Been to see ds he's doing really well, it was lovely when all his pals turned up, much back slapping and hugging, I may have got something on my eye.
He has seriously not complained once, I'm incredibly,t proud.

Grannyapple · 19/01/2015 09:48

Ah lovely news for you ledkr, hope his recovery from the op is swift & he's home soon.

Hope you're enjoying your babymoon blizy xxx

blizy · 19/01/2015 13:57

Ledkr I'm so glad to hear your wonderful news, so fantastic!

We got out of hi spiral on Saturday, so fab being home. Wee Alex is amazing and after a shaky start (thanks to a shit midwife) He is feeding well, still refuses to sleep in his crib though! Here is a wee photo for those not on FB.
