Hooray! Just came on to say that I'm so glad you like the gifts Blizy. reastie has outdone herself with organising everything. Lots of love to you all.
I was NeedToSleep etc....

blizy · 28/01/2015 16:54

Reastie. Thank you for organising the gifts!

Reastie · 28/01/2015 18:28

Blizy, I can recommend their chocolate cake FWIW, it used to be my cake of choice for birthday cakes before this dratted gluten intolerance.

Four4me · 28/01/2015 18:33

So pleased you liked it blizy sending love from Yorkshire.
????????????

Tarlia · 28/01/2015 19:42

Blizy you absolutely must get cake! Their puddings are absolutely delicious, or they were when I last had one at least! I'm glad A is a little piggy now, perhaps he has woken properly now!? Fingers crossed for a good gain on Friday.

grannyapple you are quite mad! You must be an amazing mummy, good for you. Sorry about A's tooth :( Hope the removal isn't too bad. DS1 has a few chips, he is always falling on his face.

blizy · 28/01/2015 20:02

Granny hope all
Goes well with A. Poor wee sausage. I'm sure you will be feeling worse than her!
Chocolate cake
You say reastie Mmmmm

Grannyapple · 28/01/2015 21:37

tarlia..yes mad...or stupid Grin

blizy yeah I think I will be worse than her...I hate bloody toothache & I think it's starting to bother her now...

Ooh yes I like most of their cakes...plus I love their macaroni cheese! And I like their garlic bread...hmmm

Emski76 · 29/01/2015 20:39

Glad you liked the gifts Blizy. It was all Reastie, she's an absolute star. We are all so so happy for you and dh, and baby A is beautiful!! Zoe is watching and looking over you all xxx

Grannyapple · 04/02/2015 22:22

Hey folks...just checking in to see if ponyo moved house & how blizy is getting on with gorgeous wee Alex?

Looks like I'll br getting redundancy...have asked for VR & find out in a few weeks. Have registered A with a local pre school for later in the year should it come to that...if redundancy defo confirmed, then I'll be registered Adam too as waiting list is 18 months apparentlyShock.

Amelia's tooth became infected & caused her a huge abscess on Friday morning so we ended up back at A&E. She's going in for an op tomorrow to get it removed, my poor baby girl Sad

PonyoLovesHam · 05/02/2015 07:53

Hi granny, hope everything works out for you re the redundancy. Poor Amelia! Good luck to you both for today, sounds so painful bless her.

Wow at the 18 month waiting list!! Shock I've registered A at a pre school near our new house but she might not get in there before sept Hmm

Unfortunately no we've not moved yet... Got another possible date which is the day before A's bday, convenient Hmm I'm ill with an ear infection so feeling sorry for myself at the moment, but hopefully by the end of Feb we will be sorted! (Ear and house Grin)

Moving house or not we are atill going ahead with A's massive joint soft play party, 29 kids coming at the mo Confused what is everyone else doing?

wigglesrock · 05/02/2015 08:56

Oh granny, hope all goes well today, poor A xx

Ponyo - you couldn't pay me to go through the stress of moving house again. Hope all goes through smoothly now and you get in next week.

We're not doing much for As birthday, just the usual suspects and waifs and strays at our house on the Saturday. The girls are off for a few days midterm in and around then so might go somewhere for a bit of a day trip, if it ever bloody warms up!!!

Blizy - how are you doing?

Reastie · 05/02/2015 14:32

Ponyo have you started packing in prep for the move or waiting for an actual date that is stuck by? Ive never been through a moving process with estate agents and can just imagine how stressful it is.

We have a party planned for ALice here which I'm doing. Think we have about 18 children ish coming. Keep having nightmares about it all going wrong! I shall be dressed up as the mad hatter and the shite (I meant white, that was a typo but I think it's quite appropriate Grin )rabbit at different intervals. Hope I don't get annoying children trying to pull off my tail/ears Confused

OP posts:
Ledkr · 06/02/2015 18:53

Good grief, poor Amelia, I didn't know a knock can cause that. Hope she's ok.
Dilly was 4 on 27th, party was great but very tiring too, I was awake all night with leg ache as I'd not sat down the entire day.
She's a really sweet little girl now and so active and strong.
She's swimming two lengths of the small pool now with no armbands and dives for her dive sticks. She has been moved into 5-6 yrs ballet as she's so good. She's got really muscly arms and legs too!!

Ds is doing really well now, you'd hardly know he'd had it done apart from all the meds.
blizy hope all is well and you are enjoying him, thanks to reastie for organising your little treats xx
Can u pm me ur FB name so I can see him, I have a dormant account to spy on Ella Grin

blizy · 06/02/2015 20:00

Granny, hope A is better now. Poor wee sausage.

Ponyo, hope the house move hoes smoothly when it happens.

Reastie Shock at you swearing! The party sounds amazing.

Ledkr, wow at Dilly. She is one clever little girl.

It's so hard to believe that our babies are turning four already, where has the time gone?

I'm good, loving being a Mum to Alex but it's also very bitter sweet, highlights everything I missed out on with Zoe.
My wee chunk has finally found his appetite and is now over his birth weight at 8lb 7oz, he gained 1lb in 6 days! Got to go, said child is starting to squak.

Ledkr · 07/02/2015 09:46

I can imagine how much alex makes u think of Zoe. I've only had a mc butI still think of who they'd have become at certain times so can only imagine how it is for you. I guess the positive side is that her memory is kept alive while you are parenting Alex and I think it's nice to see his milestones and wonder how she would have been.
Sorry if that's bollocks.
Me and dilly are snuggled in my bed watching c beebies, dh is at work so no reason to get up.

wigglesrock · 10/02/2015 11:33

Blizy - it must be very hard at times xx Hope Alex is continuing to do well, every time I see a photo on FB of him, he's changed! I forgot that about babies, they seem to change daily Smile

Grannyapple - hope As mouth is better

Ponyo - how's the house move looking, or should I not ask?

All good here, my niece was 3 last weekend and it's Annas birthday on Sunday so it's present envy and cake heaven all the way. The girls are off for a few days either side of the weekend, so it'll be nice not to have the early morning mayhem. Olivia has shocked us all and asked if she can have her ears pierced (I know, I'm a terrible Mumsnetter and deserve nothing less than an AIBU, but you know it's cultural Wink). Sofia had hers done younger so Livs getting it done this week. I'm not really sure where her insistence has come from, I just need to double check that she knows she's getting on in each ear and not a row up her love, saving that til she's 13.

PonyoLovesHam · 10/02/2015 20:58

Hi all,

Blizy it must be bitter sweet, I hope you're doing ok. A is so very cute and chunky, I'm loving your fb pics!

Wiggles we have a moving date - this fri! Eek. I'm hoping I don't lose all of A's birthday presents in the process ;) funnily enough A has been talking about ear piercing, her friend that she's having her joint soft play party with is having her ears pierced as her bday present, so A is wanting earrings now. However, her friend apparently didn't cry at all when she had the last lot of jabs, whereas A cried like a newborn. A has been asking if it hurts, and the look on her face when I say it will hurt like the jabs but in her ears is making me think she won't be getting her ears pierced anytime soon! I've told her she can have them done whenever she wants but that it HURTS Grin
Has O had hers done yet?

Reastie your party sounds amazing and very stressful ;) I know with you doing it it will just be amazing though. Loved your typo Grin
We are paying people to come in and pack for us and then move us on the day, it pricey but I just thought fuck it, it's makes it much easier when we're both working full time, I've not got much annual leave left to have days off to pack and dp doesn't get any obviously (but it's half term the week after we move, yay! He can unpack all week!) so hopefully that will reduce the stress a bit.

Ledkr loving your description of D, she sounds fab! Her swimming is really good, A is coming on well but is definitely one of those kids who doesn't like dunking her head under, she'll do it but doesn't like it. She treated me to a 'ballet' performance earlier, it consisted of her balancing on one leg sticking her nose in the air to plinky piano music Grin we went to one proper ballet class and she was having none of it.

I did something very mumsnet and bought a steam mop today, have been doing some mopping - it's alright? Not raving about it yet, does anyone else have one?

wigglesrock · 11/02/2015 14:29

Ponyo - she's getting it done tomorrow, funny enough the pre school jabs is how Sofia decided she wanted hers done. She could live with that amount of pain Smile. Olivia isn't bothered so much with the pain, she's more afraid that I'll drag her to a clothes shop after and make her pick some clothes - Id mentioned to her earlier in the week that she could do with some new stuff and her reply was a request that she be allowed to wear her school uniform every day thus negating the need for other clothes.

A good few girl in Annas nursery school have their ears pierced, Anna doesn't fancy it, again because it might hurt and although she covets earrings the stick on Frozen ones will do.

Good luck with the move on Friday - you're just right getting movers. When we moved we only took the TV (priorities) and our sofas - we bought all new beds, wardrobes etc when we moved and had them in the new house - IKEA saw a huge jump in profits that week and Mr Ws hobby is assembling furniture - it's how we've managed 20 years together Smile

Reastie · 11/02/2015 15:51

Ponyo how exciting for Friday, hope it all goes to plan, and I like that your DH has the week off after for unpacking, it looks like it's working out quite well.

Wiggles do they use one of those funny staple guns to do ear piercing still? I remember having to rub mine with TCP once a day and give them a twist for the first month or two. My parents didn't let me get mine done until I was 12 and I was desperate to get them done for year not that I'm bitter Grin

Blizy the pictures of A he looks so much like you, oh, and it doesn't count as me swearing as it was just a typo that seemed too opportune not to change.

Countdown here until half term.

We're just watching 'Frozen' here again

blizy · 11/02/2015 16:02

Good luck with the move Ponyo!

I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 12, only because I was scared of the pain.
It's been a rough week here,Alex has reflux which is horrid, got gavisvon yesterday for him so hope that helps soon. My dad had a stroke last week too. So been kept busy with him.
Dh starts back work on Monday. He'll be working away from home which I'm not looking forward to!

Hope everyone is well and all of the birthday plans are coming along nicely.

Ledkr · 11/02/2015 22:33

Ah,blizy I have traumatic memories of dillys reflux.
If the gaviscon doesn't work get some Rinatadine.
I'm strangely old fash about ear piercing. Ella was 11 but only cos she needed a tooth out so I bribed her Grin she never wears them really either.
Dilly seems unbothered by it all!!
She is so independent now and chooses her own clothes remembering to add a vest and matching shoes, tonight she got her own nightie!
Are all the feb babies dry at night cos d is still saturated!!
She was dry around two but we just can't get the nights sorted.

americanexpat · 12/02/2015 18:48

blizy - it sounds like you have your plate full. I was wondering if your DH was going to keep working away.

Ponyo - good luck with the move. You should tell A that you bought her a new house for her birthday. Grin

L is almost always dry at night but he never gets up to use the toilet at night. I think I read on MN that being dry at night is linked to a brain development milestone?

L's party is Sunday at an inflatables place and he's beyond excited. He said he wanted a Lego cake so I ordered a kg of edible building blocks from Amazon because they have everything but now he says he wants "dusty the helicopter" who is apparently in Planes? I'm pushing forward with the Lego cake though.

PonyoLovesHam · 12/02/2015 21:59

Yawn, evening everyone, I am surrounded by boxes drinking wine out of a disney princess plastic party cup :)

Wiggles your move sounds ideal! We're planning an ikea trip next week, I can't wait, dp looks extremely unimpressed at the thought Grin I took A clothes shopping (only to sainsbos and asda) the other week, it was about 10mins before she declared "booooring"

I was probably one of the oldest ones here to get my ears pierced, I wasn't allowed until I was 15!!

Reastie dps parents apparently visiting next week too to disrupt his unpacking, they said they weren't and not they've said of course they are Hmm like dp got it wrong. But he didn't. I hope it's one of the days I'm at work...

Blizy oh god, reflux Sad poor you and poor A. I also have horrible memories of A having it. Gaviscon did help. So sorry to hear about your dad, what a lot for you to deal with.

Ledkr A was dry at night about the same age she went into pants, it was weird, seemed to pretty much be an overnight thing - one morning her nappy was full, the next is was dry. Then the next night and the next, so we just stopped using them. Of course she still has the odd accidents, one every few months roughly.

American earlier this evening I said to A "you can tell everyone we bought you a house for your bday" and she just gave me a confused look which I think meant "I'd rather have a horse" Grin Good luck with the cake! I love how fickle they are, changing their minds so often. A has a 'frozen' cake from sainsburys, my mum got it, easy peasy!

The party bags and fillers for them have gone to our new address apparently. I hope they nice people there have kept them and not sent them back, otherwise it'll be a late trip to 24 hour supermarket for me late Friday evening before soft play hell Saturday morning!

wigglesrock · 13/02/2015 20:04

Ponyo - hope today went well and A has a great party tomorrow. Olivia is pierced and proud, well in her understated way. I think I was about 6 when I got mine done. Most of the kids (girls and boys Smile) get them done here before primary school ends. Just let on you're at work when pils come, take yourself off for the day.

Blizy - hope As reflux improves - how's your dad?

Anna is having a Sainsburys cake Smile and lots of sweeties! Had all 3 girls at the dentist today - Anna doesn't like going but does like the stickers so she talks herself into it. Although she was fab today and revelled in being told that she had the best teeth out of all the almost 4 year olds the dentist knew Smile

Grannyapple · 14/02/2015 08:34

blizy, crikey all go...hope your dad is ok..& next week goes ok with DH back at work. Alex is such a wee cutie & fair filling out...love it!

A seems much better...getting quite a few indignant 'no's' from her already...quite shocked at how early it starts with girls! And N is great...not dry at night either, much the same as Dilly...I keep thinking he needs to be out of them for starting school? So we're gently introducing idea that when he's 4 he's a big boy so need to stop wearing them soon...tho I don't fancy dealing with wet beds & newborn wakings together! We've got bunk beds getting delivered next week for nate & Amelia to share... Adam is just yummy at the mo too.

Hubby has had to dash back to Glasgow to see his mum...she's just finished her first radiotherapy stint but isn't eating cos of where the tumour is (near her gullet apparently)..she's lost 8lbs in 2 wks & when hubby spoke to his big sis, he could hear in her voice that she was fragile despite saying he didn't need to go up. So he's flying up this morning & back late tomorrow night so I'm flying solo this w/e. Last time I put all 3 down on my own it nearly broke me..I'm thinking I'll be in my pj's as soon as kids are down with a glass of wine in handGrin!

Hope everytime is facing a lovely Valentine's day xx
