Ponyo - I mostly agree with reastie. I think sharing photos and stories about someone is fine, poems and songs and messages to him are a bit OTT.

reastie - paint is never one coat. Never. Grin Coordinated decor though. Shock I think I need to pull my finger out and do something with L's bedroom (no idea what).

L seems much better after a few doses of antibiotics. Unfortunately DH and I have been ill for the last week and a half. I've mostly just had a chesty cough but it seems to be moving into my sinuses now. Hmm

L's birthday is Saturday. My parents are coming to visit for the weekend, I think we're going to have a quiet family party since he doesn't get to see them much. He wants another Elmo cake so I'll be decorating that Saturday and I'm planning Cookie Monster cupcakes for nursery on Monday. I'll post photos on Facebook - hopefully they don't land on a Pinterest fail blog. Grin

ohh american sounds lovely (the cakes). I forgot to mention but I asked Alice's nursery if I could send in a cake for her birthday when she starts but was told the school have a policy of no cakes bought in due to allergies. If I wanted to give her classmates a cake I'd have to bring it in pre wrapped in individual portions for them to take home to eat Confused . Really can't be bothered with the faff so may just send in packs of chocolate buttons or something.

Hello there ladies!! Sorry not been on much....the two little 'uns are certainly keeping me busy!! Amelia is 6 months now so most of the time I'm cooking to keep up with her weaning! Can't believe the babies are 3 now or very soon!

ledkr hope you're well & D had a fab b'day?
wiggs sorry to hear of your loss...but your girls make me laugh with their take on things.
flustered sounds like things have worked our for you a bit since Christmas, which is good to hear.

& big hellos to everyone else...I'm just perpetually knackered here at the mo but will try & keep up more xx

reastie - that's OTT, they can't even eat the cake at school? L's nursery in Scotland required the cake to be shop bought with an ingredient list but it seems anything nut-free goes here. Grin These are the Cookie Monster cupcakes I'm going to try. It seems easy enough.

Granny - hello! Are you back to work soon? L exhausts me most days, I can't imagine what you must be like with a baby too. Grin Work is a break for me.

I forgot to mention that they did L's height and weight at his appointment. He's 75th centile for height and 65th for weight with clothes on (and a full nappy unfortunately). He's already 60% of my height. Shock

I'm back to work after Easter american..is going to be here all too quickly me thinks!

Quick question for those buying bikes...what size of frame did you go for? I was thinking 14inch would be suitable (N is almost a metre tall now)?

wigglesrock · 13/02/2014 12:41

grannyapple my parents are buying Anna a bike. The wheel is 12 inches & the height is 98-112cm. I'm not super organised, I have a photo of it on my phone Smile .

We're just having a little party on Sat for Anna, well I thought it was small but having counted its 9 kids & about 15 adults Hmm . She doesn't really care that much, it's all about the Minnie Mouse costume - tbh considering she's spent the last 2 days swanning around in a bridesmaid dress in the freezing cold, Minnie is an improvement!

I brought a cake to toddler group yesterday & they blew out candles & sang to her - she was so chuffed Smile

Aaww..Anna sounds so cute! Ah thanks for that...I'm a complete novice at this...I thought the inches quoted on bikes was the height (well looking at Argos anyway)...will go back & look again...saw a pirate one that he might quite like.

Sounds like our parties are going to be similar...I think I'm going to order stuff from sainsburys deli counter for it as we have a soft play party to go to on the same morning...it's his nursery girlfriends party Hmm

Hello, hello. Grin I think we're through most of the birthdays now, just Alice, Nate and Zoe (hope blizy don't mind me including her) left to go?

L had a quiet birthday Saturday - I did something to my back last week and was in such agony that I actually went to the GP Friday Shock who said it's likely a bulging disc. She prescribed some steriods and hydrocodone so I spent most of Friday and Saturday loaded on pain meds. I did manage to bake L's cake but had to go to bed for a few hours after I finished. It was fine though, my parents came to visit for the weekend and L doesn't have the time of day for me when they're around. Grin We got him a LeapPad and my parents got him more train stuff for me to step on in the dark.

Reastie · 20/02/2014 15:11

Hello,

Happy Birthday American . What are you doing to celebrate? Cracking open some pain meds?! (hope not needed obv). I Grin at the stepping on train stuff in the dark. Btw I thought your cakes looked amaze.

Gah, went into town today to get Alice some shoes. She decided she was desperate for the loo and the shop wouldn't let us use theirs due to insurance reasons Hmm so had to dash around town to find a loo. Eventually found one, she did a wee, we went back to said shop and literally 2 minutes later the SAME THING! We had to go again across town to use the loo again . Things were so much easier when she was in nappies! It took us an hour to get her her shoes, and then we were at the car getting her in her car seat and someone decided to tell me I'd scratched her car by opening my door to get Aice in her seat (I didn't!) and insisted on holding my car door for me so it couldn't touch her car whilst I finished strapping her in . Really is one of those days!

On the plus side decorated Alice's cake this morning (as fb friends will know) and it's actually not too bad, phew.

Granny when are you making the ship cake?

wiggles how was the party?

Had a friend over yesterday with a DD Alice's age and a 1yo. Complete whirlwind having a crawling baby into everything. I forgot how much hard work it is/was.

reastie - insurance reasons? Hmm What kind of shop selling children's shoes doesn't have a public toilet? Tbh I'm not sure I would've gone back but then I can really hold a grudge. Grin

Quiet birthday yesterday. We still have loads of cake left from L's birthday so DH made me a funnel cake for my birthday. Only he put the candle in while it was hot and it melted. Grin Alice's cake looked amazing, well done.

I'm getting a bit fed up with my back. Hmm The pain is creeping up since I finished the steriods and I haven't been managing it well (waiting until I'm in pain to take more meds). I think I've got to suck it up and stop being stubborn.

Reastie · 21/02/2014 16:40

american I possibly wouldn't have gone back but I have a loyalty card there and had finally saved enough points to get a free pair of shoes for her. From here on in I'm off to another shop, but I couldn't not get the free pair (still can't believe how much we spend on shoes! She doesn't even need a new pair but her nursery uniform requires black shoes so had to get a new pair [eyeroll]). What is a funnel cake btw? No idea! Just don't overdo the back, I know I said it already but exactly the same thing happened to me and then I did too much and slipped my disc. I did it whilst cleaning out the guniea pig cage of all things! It may be a nightmare now, but it will be a whole lot worse for alot longer if you do more damage.

Right, off to prep for family birthday party tomorrow. I'm working on Alice's birthday so we are pretending tomorrow is her birthday! Lots of food being prepped and room being readied. Fingers crossed all goes well. My personal highlight is drawing a Cheshire cat for 'pin the grin on the cheshire cat' which Alice has been making me play with her all day!

reastie - well, can't fault you when there were free shoes involved. Grin Funnel cake = fried dough (wiki).

The GP told me to keep moving and it'll resolve more quickly. I've been to the gym a couple times and was ok but I'm avoiding Body Pump/weightlifting until it's better. Tbh I took a hydrocodone this morning so I'm feeling pretty great right now. Grin

americanexpat I think funnel cake sounds like the yummiest scrummiest thing ever. You gotta take your pain meds before you're in pain Smile Hope you get some relief soon. The buns you did for Ls nursery looked absolutely fab. Being slightly high on meds suits you Wink Ps Also have hammock envy!

reastie Alices cake looks absolutely amazing. Alice in Wonderland is a fave of Olivias. Anna's party was lovely - it was really busy & she got exactly what she wanted lots of lovely dressing up costumes! She insists on riding her bike while dressed as Hello Kitty or Minnie Mouse!

We were at an Open farm today & as you can see from FB Anna was on a pony - she's fallen in love! I now think agreeing to get a rabbit might have been an easier option!

We were talking the other day & Mr W told me that this is the first time since 2005 that we haven't had an under 3 in the house Shock There was obviously 3 months before Anna was born but I was pregnant/had that horrible job in the lap dancing club, had all the snow etc so that wasn't the most relaxing Hmm Almost 9 years with babies !!

Hi all.
Can't believe all the babies are turning 3. Freya is 3 on monday but I'm being a mean mum and delaying ger birthday till Saturday as she's at nursery all week and I have a bunch of deadlines. There's just no time for her to enjoy it as I see the kids for about 3 hours a day if that. I want her to enjoy her presents so I think the Saturday morning will be perfect as then she can play on her bike and have a little party in the afternoon with family and friends.

Everything else seems to be going ok. I'm kinda just getting on with stuff. Studying is hard as I need to keep my grades up and I'm so exhausted but hoping as I'm nearly 16 weeks that will start getting easier.
Smiles to everyone.

Flustered g;ad everything going well pg wise, and hope the tiredness will ease soon. FWIW we are doing Alice's birthday 3 days early (ie today instead of Tuesday) as I'm working on Tuesday and can't bear to feel like a bad mother being away on her birthday. She has no idea it's not her actual birthday today but I feel a bit of a fraud telling her it is when it isn't! Still, she won't know. It'll be the same with Freya.

Just had Alice's family party. Went really well. We gave her a playmobil school. DH still hasn't finished assembling it!

American funnel cake looks a bit like deep fried yorkshire pudding. Mmmmmm, it sounds so wrong yet would taste so good.

Wiggles is it making you broody not having an under 3 Wink

Hello all, sorry for lack of posting but been busy with birthdays etc.
The girls are being bridesmaids for sil next Friday which is quite exciting, we are staying in a room at the venue so looking forward to it really.

Not much to report here but I want ed it to go back on my active convos.

Fear not ledkr, I am here! I'm not on MN much theses days, I'm so busy with work and have. Waiting list in place now, it's fab.

Hope all the big three year olds have had fab birthdays!
I'm off work wed - fri so we are off for champagne afternoon tea on fri for Zoe's birthday after our balloon release at the crematorium (hope they don't end up in the trees again!).

I have had a letter from The hospital, I gave to book in for the HSG after my next period, which is due on Z's birthday (kick in the teeth or what?).

Ledkr · 24/02/2014 21:46

Hey blizy, oof that is a kick in the teeth isn't it. Wow. Hope the balloon release goes well, I will be thinking of you and your dh.

Also just checking in to keep you on my threads I'm on, all well here Except as my fb friends know poor old A has a cough which isn't too bad except for a couple of hours after bedtime she cries like a newborn and talks gibberish whist booing Shock I put her in bed with me last night and will do the same tonight, poor old dp is sleeping on a sofa bed! Actually he's alright, he gets a full night sleep haha.

We went to. See pil at the weekend which was ok, somewhat irritAting especially when A was ready for bed, I sent her down to say goodnight to pil and they gave her apple pie and custard, wtf! So she then went hyper and didn't go to bed for 2 hours whilst they buggered off for a sleep Hmm ah feel better now I've shared that.

Sorry for all the typos, I've read it but can't be bothered to change the mistakes Grin

blizy a waiting list!! You'll be opening your own chain soon Wink . Yes date is a bit of a kick in the teeth. Hope Fridays balloon release goes well x

ledkr girls must be so excited about Friday, hope you all enjoy it.

reastie no, no broodiness from me Smile . Sofia can make tea & toast, Anna can work the tv, Wii, tablets Hmm , can help herself to food from the fridge Hmm Hmm & Olivia can scare the other two into submission - my work here is done, I'm just going to lie on the sofa & have them bring me stuff !

Sofia & Olivia are off to Disney with my parents (my Dad in EuroDisney is still making me smirk) tomorrow - so its all very excitable here!

Report
ILovePonyo · 25/02/2014 14:55

Grin At Olivia scaring her sisters into doing stuff wiggles, that made me laugh. Hope the eldest 2 have a lovely time at Disney land, well of course they will! Also Grin at you not being broody. I only have to hold a baby for people to start among comment, well I say people, mainly mil. I held my friends 6 mo at A's party and mil told me I was broody Hmm I also held dp's brothers newborn at the weekend and got comments then. In a sort of a "I know better than you" way which was annoying, I like small babies but I don't want one!

I'm on annual leave today as I've got loads to use up before march, I've been to the gym, got dinner in the slow cooker and now putting my feet up. Smug much?! Wink

Ponyo - Shock at your PILs, I would be homicidal.

blizy - is an HSG the first step? Good luck with the balloon release and enjoy your champagne tea. xx

We've been getting the "When are you having another? You'd better hurry." comments for a while. It's only in the last 6 months that I've felt ready (with work, etc) so we've been not not trying but it took nearly a year for L. I think people who make those comments didn't have a problem conceiving and don't understand it's not that easy for everyone. I just shrug and say we'll see instead of telling them to fuck sod off.

Report
ILovePonyo · 25/02/2014 15:30

Agreed american, people pretty much start asking you from when your first one is born don't they?! I am seriously thinking that I will tell people who go on about it too much that I had 4 mcs before A and have had another 2 since, that would shut them up! I am Hmm at people telling you that you'd better hurry! how rude!

Yes dp and I still get annoyed when we talk about the 'apple pie' incident with pil, if one of us brings it up the other one will start ranting! The annoying thing was the next morning mil was saying "well she was never going to settle was she" erm, yes, she was, until you gave her pudding! Angry Grin
