Morning ladies! I think I either have hayfever or start of a stuipd cold & then chest infection - I remember having it this time last year when heavily pg & needed lots of antibiotics...hoping to not have a repeat of that again! Amelia is a bit snotty/ phlegmy too - think shes passed it on to me Hmm

Anyway, just wanted to pop on & say good lick for today blizy - the odds of it happening again are in your favour xxx

blizy · 14/07/2014 13:45

Thanks granny, all is well with my wee button. He /she was bouncing around not cooperating, I had to lay on the bed and wiggle my hips around (lovely). My NT measurement was1.5mm, now to wait on the blood results. I have an appointment with the consultant at 3pm to outline my care plan for rest of pregnancy.

Hope you don't have the cold/chest infection, fingers crossed for you.

americanexpat · 14/07/2014 20:14

blizy - how was your appointment? How are you feeling?

George the cat is having an ultrasound this afternoon, fingers crossed we get some good news. He's costing us a bloody fortune but no regrets from us.

blizy · 14/07/2014 20:24

Hi American, fingers crossed for George.
My appointment was good. I will have scans every 4 weeks from 20 weeks and will deliver around 38 weeks. It has been a long day, I'm off to bed to catch some Zzzzz

wigglesrock · 14/07/2014 20:25

Americanexpat - hope news about George isn't as bad as you think x

Blizy - glad the bean is already not doing as they are told & playing up Smile, hope the appointment this afternoon was ok.

Grannyapple - hope you're feeling a bit better, when is As birthday?

All good here, finally got through the mountain of holiday washing Shock, brilliant time was had by all, back to earth with a bit of a bump for A - she's missing the all inclusiveness of the holiday! No ice cream, juice, crisps & bouncy, animated staff here Smile

wigglesrock · 14/07/2014 20:25

Blizy - cross posted - glad appt went well. Now off to bed x

americanexpat · 14/07/2014 20:34

I miss all-inclusiveness every day of my life. Grin

wigglesrock · 14/07/2014 20:49
Smile
Reastie · 14/07/2014 21:01

I've never done an all inclusive type holiday, clearly I'm missing out Grin

american thinking of you and hope the apt goes OK

blizy so glad scan went OK, this is going to be one very well scanned bean Wink

Granny aww, how rubbish. I'm coming down with a cold too, it's summer, colds should be banned!

Yay good stuff blizy.

wiggs hol looked fab! A's birthday is 2 wks tomorrow. My best friend from Glasgow is visiting then with her 3, just by pure chance (she's doing a your if some if the there parks en route to Isle of Wight with her in laws, so I'm honoured she's visiting...think she's been down twice in the 13 yrs since we moved!). Think we're having a wee tea party then park visit. Off to Glasgow to celebrate A's & her cousin who is 2 wks younger birthdays in aug, so will catch up with family then.

Agreed reastie...colds in summer is just bizarre!

Ledkr · 19/07/2014 08:59

Him all, just popping by. Me and dilly are watching Mary poppins on the sofa at the moment while everyone else has a lie in.
Massive storms here last two nights, I've found it hard to sleep with the heat.
Ella had four teeth out for her braces to be fitted and my ds has had his tubes put in for dyalisis so he's feeling sore.
We are off for four weeks on Wednesday and it can't come quick enough, very simple but relaxing prescription of cycling, swimming and bbqs which is much needed here.
Glad you had a good time wiggs was it playa de bossa again? Love it there.
blizy all sounds good so far! I expect it's still a big worry. I may have had a Doppler and done lots of pg tests with D Grin
Hi to everyone else. Thanks for the new name borg congrats on Joan.

wigglesrock · 26/07/2014 22:36

Just popping in to say hello Smile. Hope everyone is doing well?

Flustered...... How are you doing?

All good here, just floating about enjoying the good weather, and the constant need of Anna to visit the park every day! Girls have been off school for a month, only another month to go then all three of them will be at school/ nursery school. Anna will be in from 9am - 1.30pm so am in a state of shock and exhilaration at the amount of time I may have to myself.

Ledkr - hope you have a fab holiday x

MizK · 28/07/2014 12:03

Hi all, having a rare period of actually posting on mn so will take the opportunity to say hi!

Absolutely loving the beautiful summer we've had so far, two older DCs in Turkey for nearly 3 weeks so have had a little uk break to Somerset with Cassia which was lovely. Lots of bbq and weddings etc which go so much better with sun!

Not much else to report, just about to drop off cass at her cousins for the afternoon while I slope off to the gym, trying to up my fitness. Can run 10k after lots of practice so hoping to build it up (and would be nice if my body became firmer in the process! Tummy still like porridge 3 years after last baby!)

Enjoy your hols ledkr

Congrats on Joan borg nice to hear from you!

Ooh wiggles think of your lovely free mornings come September! You will be able to take up s hobby - may I suggest lying in bed reading and eating chocolate? It's difficult at first but after a while you'll be a pro ;)

Reastie · 28/07/2014 15:37

Hello mizk , lying in bed reading and eating chocolate? That sounds like a very productive hobby, I might try that one too Grin . My tum is saggy lumpy porridge Confused . Envy of 10k. Whenever I try to run I just get dratted stitch and have to give up, I'm sticking to my workout DVDs.

Ledkr enjoy the holibob

wiggles you'll love the time to yourself I bet.

Blizy how many weeks now? Is Glasgow a bit hectic ATM?

Gah, having just got over a cold a few days ago I'm now coming down with another one. ALice has been complaining of a sore throat too . Went out with some nursery friends and parents last week and one of them was full of 'I was sooooo ill at the week end, I've never been so ill and DH is at home in bed today and I've never seen him so ill he can hardly move, it was awful. Today is the first day I've been out since the week end' so I'd better not be getting that

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 28/07/2014 15:54

MizK - to be honest that was sort of my plan Smile mixed with a bit of exercise. I will still have my niece a few days a week but she's a delight ( mainly because I can hand her back)

Reastie - poo to feeling ill.

We are supposed to doing loads around the house over the next few weeks but this lovely weather has scuppered our plans and my general lack of interest Smile. The girls are going into separate bedrooms, Olivia shared with Anna but we have an extra room, loosely referred as a "playroom" so Liv is moving in there. She needs a bit of space to work on her plans for world domination and to be fair to her its less her and Anna's room, more like Anna's room and she's allowed to sleep there!

On the tangent of sleep, Anna has now managed 3 weeks of no waking during the night, putting herself to sleep and staying there until the previously unheard of hour of 7am Grin. Between Anna and Olivia it's been almost 7 years of night waking, I'm beside myself with happiness and have been indulging in all sorts of wondrous things such as reading in bed and listening to music! Mr W has been doing lots of nights so it's been lovely having so much time to myself. He's off for a few days now, I think he thinks he's on a promise .

PonyoLovesHam · 30/07/2014 09:32

Hello everyone, I'd lost you! So just posting to get you back on my threads I'm on whilst I'm waiting to have blood taken Confused half an hour I've been waiting so far!! Ive been ill for about a month now so hopefully this will help...?

Anyway sounds like everyone is well.

Mizk 10k?! Wow! I'm super impressed.
Ledkr enjoy your hols Smile
And wiggles I think you're due an unbroken nights sleep, 7 years ConfusedConfused

We're off on hols to brighton soon, I can't wait. Just going for under a week, planning a day trip to London tooSmile I hope it's fun and not a massive stress haha! Anya is looking forward to it which is nice, she's fab at the moment as well as getting more stubborn by the day Hmm

Nearly my turn to go in so I hope everyone else is ok, I will catch up properly later. Maybe. Our internet isn't working and it's been 2 weeks without it now, I miss it SO much Grin

Reastie · 30/07/2014 09:42

ponyo when's your London day trip? I'm off to London next Wednesday to take Alice to the theatre, wondering if you were in town we could plot a cheeky coffee somewhere. If you've got a car I recommend a day trip to Drusillas zoo where the Hello Kitty Garden thing is I had piccies on fb of, Alice loved the hello kitty bit and the playground there wasn't so bothered about the zoo bit though . Hope the blood test gives you some decent answers.

I'm off to family planning clinic this evening to talk about my coil, I'm fed up of 3 years of pain and am a bit Confused at the amount of nurofen I regularly take. It can't be good.

OP posts:
PonyoLovesHam · 30/07/2014 10:30

Oh we're not going until the 11th reastie, so we'll be in London one day that week Sad that's a shame! And unfortunately we're not taking the car, we're getting the train to brighton. A 4 hour drive (not including stops) seemed a bit much so we've got train tickets booked, yay!

Good luck getting the coil sorted. My friend had it and was also in a lot of pain with it, horrible. Whenever I get my pill prescription the nurse always tries to make me change to the coil Hmm no chance! Must be cheaper?

PonyoLovesHam · 30/07/2014 10:31

Sorry, meant to say, Anya would have loved that hello kitty land! and me
I bet the gift shop would be amazing Grin

Reastie · 30/07/2014 15:55

Yeah I think maybe the coil works out cheaper as mine is for 10 years, so I'm guessing that is cheaper than 10 years worth of pills? . I don't want to have it out as it's the bottom of our list and we have nowhere else to go contraception wise, but I've been popping nurofen like sweets for the pain for so long I'm a bit worried I'm going to do some damage from prolonged regular use, hence the appointment.

I may still be up for going to London when you're going (it's half an hour on train from me so not too far) to meet up, but completely understand if you've got lots of activities planned and won't have time.

OP posts:
americanexpat · 30/07/2014 17:39

The coil is likely cheaper in the long run, especially since they don't need to bother with prescription refills, blood pressure checks, etc. Also more effective which saves the NHS a bundle too. Grin

reastie - I was having dental problems and was taking 4-6 ibuprofen tablets per day for 4 weeks, was worried about the effects of prolonged use as well. Fortunately it seems to have settled now. I hope you shake off the cold soon.

Ponyo - I hope you're feeling better soon too and enjoy your hols.

L is in a "challenging" phase at the moment, everything seems to be a struggle. His default response to anything seems to be "I can't do it" in a very whiny voice. Hmm Followed by a tantrum if we insist he can. I don't even want to discuss bedtime. Wine

Reastie · 30/07/2014 19:50

american this has been going on for 3 years that I've been regularly on the painkillers Confused Shock . I have to go to GP to get a scan and swab done apparently . I'm going to have to have it taken out I know it, and there's nothing else out there for me Sad

OP posts:
blizy · 30/07/2014 21:12

I hope you get the coil problem sorted reastie. I'm not in Glasgow just now, I'm in Bulgaria on holidayGrin. The road race tomorrow will be going through my village, the whole place has been shut down, all roads closed, so everyone is trapped for the day! I'm 14 weeks now and wee bob button is doing just fine.

Enjoy your hols Ponyo.
Wiggles, mr Blizy doesn't want to dtd with me, he's too scared it will hurt bob. Man, my hormones are raging Grin!

Go you mix k with the 10k!

Hope you are enjoying your holiday ledkr.
Right I had better go, getting funny looks from my sister!

PonyoLovesHam · 31/07/2014 11:14

Well reastie our only plan is natural history museum, which I'm sure will take up most of the day Confused but I'll let you know what day we're going, we could maybe meet in a park or for a cuppa later on in the day?

American A is challenging at the moment. She's lovely and funny but I think just before her 3rd birthday she suddenly became a lot more challenging too! She has a habit now of very selective hearing, then when I raise my voice she'll shout "NO. No no no. Listen." And then proceed to tell me why she is right and i shouldn't have shouted at her etc etc ShockHmm and lots of other annoying habits she's developing Wink it's has however made me realise I resort to shouting quite a lot so I am trying not to haha.

I felt really sad last night actually because a tired and emotional A started crying for her friends at nursery "I want Ney-Ney, waaaaahh" this was after we told her to get out of the bath about 5 times (no shouting this time!) when I asked her why she said it's because her nursery friends are nice to her Sad So we had a cuddle and she cheered up but I felt a bit rubbish she wanted her nursery friends over me or her dad.

Anyway! Blizy enjoy your hols! Sounds great. That's very sweet about your dh, it did make me laugh though thinking about you with rampant hormones and your dh being all sensitiveGrin

Better go and do some work.

americanexpat · 31/07/2014 21:58

Ponyo - Try not to take it personally. They have such a short-term view of being happy - you're making her unhappy at the moment and her friends aren't. L always cries for the parent who isn't disciplining him.
