Hello ladies...looking for inspiration as I need to be super organised for crimbo this year (reastie I'm looking at you, organisational queen!).

What are you guys thinking for crimbo pressies this year, with their b'days round the corner in feb?!.

wigglesrock · 20/06/2014 23:23

Grannyapple - I think we might be Legoing it this year. Anna had a welcome session this morning at nursery school & they had all the toys out. She was particularly enamoured with a big toy castle - it had a moat, drawbridges, knights etc. the stuff Imaginext does, but bigger. I know my friend has the Imaginext Batcave, Batman type stuff & there's always a queue for it when we ( and I'm including myself) go round to play!

Blizy - I read your post yesterday & that song came on the radio today when I was picking Olivia up from school & I thought that's blizys song Smile. I know I've said it previously but when I was pregnant with Sofia, we had tried for so many years & I had just started a new job. I had my diary out working out shifts & I realised my period was due that week and I just knew it wasn't coming. I wasn't late, I just knew that was it & I was pregnant.

We are having a party weekend (again!), Sofia is 9, my mum will be 64 & my aunt will be 65, so it's cake, cake, cake.

Emski - hope Ben is over the worst of it x

Grannyapple · 21/06/2014 08:13

Ooh yes Lego is a good shout...Nate is obsessed with it at the mo (as well as DH..brings back his childhood I think!). I was also thinking if the imaginext bat cave too...my friend got one of her twin girls it last year-she was well impressed & said boys toys were much better value as you get more with it than girls toys Grin

americanexpat · 23/06/2014 19:35

I can't believe we're discussing Christmas already. Shock I'm weeping at the thought of Lego - more little bits to step on in the dark. Some of the Imaginext stuff looks brilliant though. I'll probably order it all from Amazon in December again.

Ponyo - any house news? How was OITNB? I watched half of the first episode of the first series and had to turn it off because I couldn't stop sobbing. Confused Is it worth trying again?

blizy - when is your next scan?

Ledkr · 23/06/2014 20:51

Hi all.
blizy so glad it's working out for you at last.
american sorry about your mc, horrible.

I can't help but smile smugly at your tales of non sleeping dc.
The one thing we can guarantee with d is a good night.
She sleeps from 7-7 and often 9-9 at weekends.
I remember age was the worst sleeper and mostly the others were quite good.
We have lots if babies on the wAy here.
Ds1 and his gf and due in November as is my sister and my other sister is due in 6wks.
It will be like the baby show here at Xmas.
We've had no pox here, plenty of headlice though Hmm

blizy · 23/06/2014 21:00

Oh wow ledkr, it's babies a go go for you. How lovely to have a new little grandchild.

American I have scan on Friday and my booking appointment. I'll be 10 weeks.

Yes yes to the lego, all of my mindees love the stuff, that and k'nex.
Not a lot to report, just working, sleeping and puking.
Roll on Friday for the schools finishing!
Hope you are all good.

Reastie · 24/06/2014 06:45

was that christmas and organised in the same sentence I hear?! We've got Alice a hello kitty bike for Christmas and some bits stashed in the loft that I buy when I see (have no idea what until I go up there!). She absolutely loves her playmobil bits, so might get some more of that for bday. Tbh we'll probably only get her a small birthday present as we'll be having to do a birthday party for her next year, so funds will go on that and she'll get loads of stuff from the party I imagine.

granny/auntieledkr very exciting re: all these babies

Urgh blizy do you have any mindees with nappies to change? Must be a pretty dire task when in early pregnancy!

OP posts:
blizy · 24/06/2014 07:23

Yes reastie, nappies everyday. My friday twins also do around 5 dirty nappies a day EACH! It is grim.

wigglesrock · 25/06/2014 16:40

Blizy - I was ok with nappies, cooking for Sofia and Olivia on the other hand was the worst - I do remember some days just firing dinner at them and being so ill. Hope Friday goes well.

Hope all chickenpox kids are on the road to recovery xx

I think Anna may be starting to suffer from the dreaded tonsillitis issues that plagued Liv :(. She's been a bit under the weather - in terrible, moany form and her voice is very hoarse - it's like Liv three years ago. Off to see GP tomorrow.

Grannyapple · 26/06/2014 21:29

Nightmare wiggs..poor Anna & poor you!

Good luck for tomorrow's scan blizy-is this your 13 wk one?

Fine here tho a bit knackered. Nate had an op a week past Tuesday & had been off nursery since. Hubby took annual leave last week to look after him, I couldn't take leave due to work pressures at the mo so have been working from home this week...he's been good bless him, but I've bern struggling to get work done so have done 2 late night wed this week to get some business cases done & dusted...finished at 1.30am this morning from being up at 5.30am with the kids. Still had to get stuff done today & eventually managed it at 3.40pm this afternoon. Got a shower at 4 & then felt a bit better. But already wishing mat leave would come up soon! 24wks today tho so not long now...

flusteredmumto2 · 26/06/2014 21:46

Good luck tomorrow blizy.
So sorry to hear American.
Granny how are you feeling now?

Re Christmas. I think freya will get playmobil bits as she loves thomas' bits.

Well... I did it. I've passed my access to uni course with flying colours. 9 merits, 6 distinctions and 2 passes. So it means I've met my criteria for uni and it means Bristol is a definite move and will be going ahead in 10 weeks. I can't believe I've done it! We're flat/house hunting like crazy and hopefully something will come up soon so we can atleast get paperwork in place and a definate moving address.
Baby wise I'm huge!!! Last week I was measuring 36 weeks at 32 and had a growth scan. She's over 5lbs already, if I wasn't having a csec I would be more worried. Spd is atrocious and I'm on crutches but we're on the final countdown. Only 5 weeks till csec. This pregnancy has been so different and baby feels so strong I can't remember freya actually making me physically move or kick me so hard it made me shout. Freya is so excited about being a big sister shes always talking to the bump and lying with her head on it. She even gives the bump a kiss goodnight, toms a bit more reserved but loves helping me sort and organise babys things.

I hope everyone else is well and enjoying the decent weather.

blizy · 26/06/2014 22:06

Flustered, well done you! Freya sounds so cute with the bump.

Granny poor you, hope you can catch up on sleep, I wish I was 13 weeks, I'm only 9. I'm having another reassurance scan at the EPU tomorrow.

Wiggles, I hope Anna is ok?

Grannyapple · 26/06/2014 22:44

Yay congrats & well done on passing your course flustered...great achievement! Wow 7 wks til you meet bubba?! How exciting!! Your kids sound adorable about it all too. Nate is happy this one is a boy...he loves Amelia & lives annoying her/winding her up but also really makes her giggle...but think he'll be chuffed to have a partner in crime!

Shattered, tho should've been into bed hours ago but instead have had to ensure DH snoozing/snoring on the couch..he's got a cheek to be tired!!

wigglesrock · 26/06/2014 23:07

Grannyapple - the tiredness is a complete fecker when you've 2 wee ones. Take care, glad Nate is over the op. Even though you know it's just a little op, the worry still takes it out of you x

Flustered - well done Thanks, very exciting couple of months coming your way now!

Blizy - will be thinking of you tomorrow xx

Well Anna is alright, Dr said her throat is clear enough, but he has an inkling she's fought something off recently. I thought maybe it was just her injections last week but he thinks she might be a bit tonsilly as well. He told me I'd have a pretty good idea when she had done a few months at nursery school. Dodgy tonsils usually flare up because the kids are busy fighting off all the other childhood illnesses. She of course was her usual charming self . Some poor unsuspecting soul tried to talk to her in the lift and when Anna glared at her, the woman said to me "oh she's shy", Anna promptly replied "I'm not shy, I just don't want to talk to you". I'll admit to sniggering slightly Blush

Girls finish school tomorrow & this time next week we'll be in Ibiza - yay. I asked Sofia and Olivia to have a look through their clothes & tell me what they wanted to bring . Olivia said she just needed "her" iPod, swimming stuff & her books Grin, Sofia is still trying to narrow down her selection of hats

Ledkr · 27/06/2014 12:15

Just popped on to see if blizy has reported in? My sis has her 20 week scan today and my dil had hers on Wednesday and they are having a girl, so I will have one of each which is nice, d will love a baby to boss around.

Ledkr · 27/06/2014 12:17

Why are people talking about Christmas???

blizy · 27/06/2014 18:39

Wiggles dh and I were just laughing at Anna's reply to the woman n the lift Grin

ledkr, lovely news.

Granny hope you are tucked up in bed soon, I won't be far behind you .

All is good with my wee button, it was bouncing around the screen, lovely to see. He/she looked like a wee jelly baby. I have my 12 week scan on the 14th at 10am and a consultant appointment at 3pm, it's going to be a long day...

Hope you all have a good weekend. Smile

Reastie · 27/06/2014 19:58

blizy that's great news. One week closer....

wiggles love the lift comment! I picked up my Sylvanian Families House today, it was you on the Christmas thread that made me do it! I'm really pleased with it though, it looks great. Not sure if it'll be birthday or Christmas yet. We're off on holiday next Saturday and I can't wait. Trying to get the packing done this week end if I can as I get stressed about these things if it's not all done in advance. Alice is v excited as we go on a ferry to get there. She keeps asking 'is it nearly our holiday yet?'

Ledkr we're past half way through the year, how can you not think about Christmas?! We have to have PIL this Christmas day Confused

flustered that's fab news, have you found a house yet?

granny blimey sounds exhausting.

OP posts:
flusteredmumto2 · 27/06/2014 21:18

Reastie we're with the PIL's this year I think though I really would love it to be just us 5 for baby's 1st Christmas. No house yet which is scaring me but everything there is snapped up so quickly that there isn't many available for end of August/beginning Sept yet so I think it could be pretty last minute which is freaking me out a bit. I can't sort toms school until we have an address which is partly what scares me and I need something definate to focus on. Freya and the baby are both going to go to the on campus nursery and both have places reserved. All my student finance is sorted so house is the last bit really. I can't wait. Pregnancy is so hard when you have to deal with it all on your own and I can't wait for this new chapter though it is so daunting!

Blizy I'm so pleased bean is jumping around. Every week is another step closer to your take home baby.

wigglesrock · 27/06/2014 21:20

reastie where are you going? I don't do the packing in our house, a lifetime (before his current job) in retail, means that Mr W is a world class packer. I just leave stuff in piles and he does his magic Smile

I couldn't believe the Sylvanians offer, I was never really sure if Sylvanians were all that Smile, but I got some bits & pieces for the girls last year & they've been played with constantly.

blizy great news xxx - early to bed with you, am sure you're exhausted.

ledkr have you not got your sprouts on yet? Smile

Reastie · 28/06/2014 08:36

Isle of Wight wiggles .

Wow flustered so much going on! I can't even begin to think about all of the things you need to do. So are you starting uni this September? Sounds like you're acing your classes, well done.

So, my parents are opening their gardens this afternoon for charity, first time they've ever done it, I've baked infamous amounts of cake to sell with teas. Guess what the weather forecast is? Heavy rain, potential thunder storms, hail, and strong winds. Confused . I may be passing through tinternet cake to everyone this evening if no one turns up!

OP posts:
flusteredmumto2 · 28/06/2014 13:54

Yes reastie, I'm not deferring so I enrol on the 19th September and I think lectures start about a week later. Its so strange having finished college and having no assignments due that I'm feeling a bit lost.

I hope this afternoon goes well reastie, I'll always accept cake.

Reastie · 28/06/2014 18:19

I made this recipe from a recipe in the mn cookbook Grin

Feb 2011. Now they are (nearly) 3 <gulp>
OP posts:
Ledkr · 28/06/2014 18:57

Oh reastie, you are such a perfect mother Grin

blizy · 28/06/2014 20:28

Pass the cake here reastieGrin
This pregnancy thing has really sunk in now, I am so excited it also terrified of things going wrong.

Dh was out today and came home with a little sleep suit, he is defo more excited than me.
