I think ledkr might be a victim of autocorrect. Grin I do remember your bizarre story about the osteopath though.

Kt - hello! Yes, it's a challenging age, we've just come through a "challenging" period where he seemed to spend all his waking hours winding us up. He came home from nursery one day and said, "I made bad choices." Grin

The weather is heating up, it was nearly 28C at the weekend. We finally pulled out L's paddling pool then he complained the water was too cold. The humidity is miserable so DH will probably have the air conditioning on soon. Hmm

Ledkr · 02/06/2014 21:35

Played Oliver not she'd although the rest of the post is just what I meant to say Hmm

flusteredmumto2 · 03/06/2014 00:09

Ledkr you get the prize Wine
I tried to get a referral but they won't pay for it in our trust and there's no way I can afford to go private as I'm having to save towards a deposit with oh so I'm feeling poorSad.
Poor until my student loans go in the bank in September anyway. Yay.

RobinSparkles · 03/06/2014 13:49

Reastie DD1 had her class photo the other week. We were "reminded" to make sure that they had the correct colour socks and plain hair accessories. They're really strict at this school - only white socks for school, no black. I felt like sending her in pink socks with purple spots. She changed schools in September and her old school were much more relaxed.

Flustered I'm glad you're so much happier now :).

Blizy, sorry but I'm glad you're feeling rubbish Wink. I sympathise really, I truly do but it sounds as if everything is as it should be!

Ledkr, I remember your Mark Lester osteopath! How bizarre re MJ's kids eh?

My friend told me that she is pg today! I'm so excited for her.

wigglesrock · 03/06/2014 14:04

ledkr I got your gist Smile

americanexpat I'm sorry I weed myself a bit at "I made bad choices", Anna's prone to saying "I'm not having a good day" when she gets herself in a funk & sulks about the house Smile

Reastie the photo will be very cute Smile, we just get a note send to tell us the kids are getting their photo taken, mainly to remind us that if you come before 8.30 you can bring younger or older kids who aren't at the school so you can get group photos. I brought Anna & Emma last year so my parents would have a photo of them all - it sounded like a good idea Smile , the photo is lovely of them all except Olivia - she has a very menacing look on her face & I swear her eyes follow you around my mums dining room Hmm

Olivia has decided she wants to be a goth, only she doesn't know the phrase - she is channelling Ally Sheedy in the Breakfast Club yes I'm old. Her & Anna share a room & they have wardrobes side by side - yesterday we were trying to sort out "holiday clothes" Olivia opened her wardrobe and bemoaned the fact that she didn't have enough black clothes, Anna threw her wardrobe doors open with great aplomb & uttered the phrase "look at all my lovely dresses" - I feel the only thing that's going to get me through the next 15 years is vodka on tap & cigarettes!!

blizy keep feeling grotty in a good way xx

americanexpat · 04/06/2014 18:59

Granny - I meant to say congrats on the boy. Will you be having a 4th to try to even the gender balance? Grin

flustered - I can't believe you're 30/31 weeks already!

reastie - Did you send Alice with shined shoes in the end? L had his school photos done in the autumn, they combed his hair before the photo so he has a very clear fringe. Grin They tend to be quite lax about dress standards here, as long as they're dressed appropriately for the weather.

wiggles - Grin at Olivia's eyes following you around the room. Have you seen Awkward Family Photos?

Reastie · 04/06/2014 19:22

Re: the nursery photo. It was just a class photo, not an individual one. I did indeed polish her shoes through gritted teeth and sent her in with her hair brush should a last minute touch up be deemed necessary Grin . Haven't seen the picture yet but she says she smiled for it. They are quite fussy about dress as they have mini school uniform same as the prep school.

ledkr now you say that, yes, I remember the osteopath.

american by awkward family photos do you mean that really funny page I've seen linked from people on fb with really bizarre family photos? I'm sure I remember a naked family shot there??? Btw you'll get no sympathy from me with your warm weather there, it's been raining here today.

blizy how is everything?

I can't remember if I said but I am miserable as have a knee injury from my workout dvd. Grrrr, trying to be fit and healthy causing me injuries Confused .

americanexpat · 05/06/2014 17:46

reastie - I meant to ask, how did the dress turn out? I've made a couple of tops for me and a shirt for DH, unfortunately I never get around to sewing these days. [glares at unfinished DIY projects] Also, don't be too jealous at the weather, it's been pissing down rain on and off for a week. DH put up the tent so he and L could "camp" in the back garden but every time he tries to put it away, it rains again.

Ponyo - any news on the house front?

PonyoLovesHam · 05/06/2014 19:11

Hello everyone, just on my phone so can't do replies, have been reading though Smile

Thought American, no house news but have had 2 viewings yesterday, positive!

A has chicken pox! Sad Or 'chicken pops' as she calls it.

Who else has had it? I couldn't remember. She's fine but getting spottier, including some on her foo and in her hair Confused I've been off work with her today (and managed a 2 hour nap with her this afternoon Grin) dp is off with her tomorrow.
Bit rubbish being stuck inside all day!
So hope everyone else is well, will check back later.

MizK · 06/06/2014 08:03

Hi everyone! On the bus on the way to my last exam so tricky to reply to everybody's news, but who ooooooooh to blizy how amazing!so happy for you darling it's the best news xxxx

Love to A with her chicken pops ponyo at least weather is looking quite nice so you can at least let her play in the garden! Good luck re house too x

All the pg ladies hope you're all doing ok? Nice to have some new arrivals to look forward to on the thread.

hello to new lady and welcome, sorry poor memory today my mind is filled with old English pronouns this morning, will be here more often over summer :)

Sorry to hear about your knee reastie and fingers crossed it mends soon. I love to run on the treadmill over all other exercise but my stupid knee gives out every so often and it's really frustrating. You continue to be my gymspiration via Facebook, you look gorgeous!

Hi ledkr wiggles and robin plus everyone else, have enjoyed reading about the fellow frozen addicts. I had my hair in a plait the other day when I put cassia to bed and she first said in ender? 'Mummy you look like Elsa' then became enraged and starting shouting 'I'm Elsa not you!you're ANNA!' :)

Right better go, wish me luck, hoping to pass everything v so I can enjoy a lovely long summer!

MizK · 06/06/2014 08:04

Urgh stupid phone I've seen at least 100 typos, please don't fear for my potential to get an English degree....

Emski76 · 06/06/2014 13:27

Hi all.
Just popping on to say Noah also has chicken pox. No sign until Wednesday morning when I undressed him and found 3 on his back. Two days later and he's covered!
Reastie, talking about school photos, Ben had his a few weeks back and we saw them today. He has fairly long thick hair and they had given him a comb over!!! Won't be buying any of those then!
Miz K good luck for your exam
Hi to everyone!

wigglesrock · 06/06/2014 13:39

MizK hope all goes well for your exam - you deserve a nice long summer x

ponyo & emski hope chicken pox pops goes over without a hitch. All 3 of mine had them over a four week period last year Hmm - fun times. Wasn't too bad actually, I just used Virasoothe & Piriton - Anna was probably the lease affected of them all.

It's my 40th birthday this weekend so have busy few days, out for yummy dinner with friends tonight, culminating in a BBQ on Sunday, where my mum can make my birthday all about her - oh look it is easier to be bitchy the older you get Wink

Anna got a letter calling her for her preschool booster vacs in 2 weeks. The other two didn't get theirs until the week of their 4th birthday, which in Sofias case was actually the week she finished nursery school Smile . Am sure Anna's compliance will cost me a big bribe reward - she's moved on to Doc McStuffins - that theme tune is not in the slightest bit annoying! Hmm

PonyoLovesHam · 06/06/2014 15:25

Wiggles "I feel better, so much betterrrrrrr" Grin A likes annoying mcstuffins too, she also likes max and ruby at the moment, I HATE ruby the nagging moo. Haha at your comment about getting bitchy, made me laugh. Happy birthday for this weekend!

Emski oh no, poor N. A is still getting them at the moment, but as long as we keep her dosed up with piriton she's not too bad. I thought it was meant to make them drowsy?! Seems to have the opposite effect with A!

Hope the exam went well MizK?

Where is blizy, hope you're ok x x

blizy · 06/06/2014 15:34

Blizy is here, I'm fine just plodding along. Scan on wed and I have my booking app in 27th, then 12 week scan on 14th July, it's beginning to feel real now!

I hope Anya and Noah are better soon.

Wiggles, you made me laugh with your bitchy comment too. I hope you have an amazing birthday weekend.

Big waves to everyone!

PonyoLovesHam · 06/06/2014 15:56

Pleased to hear that blizy, I bet the scan date can't come quick enough! Hope you have a lovely weekend x

wigglesrock · 06/06/2014 16:57

blizy Smile xxxx

ponyo Max & Ruby is my nemesis! I've watched some shite with the girls - iCarly, Victorious, Me Too, Auntie feckin' Mabel but nothing, nothing irritates me more than those rabbits. Anna went through a stage (not quite out of it) of barking one word orders at me & I lay the blame at that fecker Maxs paws. And while I'm on my rant - where are their bloody parents? Wink

PonyoLovesHam · 06/06/2014 19:33

Exactly wiggles! Where are the bloody parents, it baffles dp and he asks me everytime it's on Confused
A likes my little pony (which I'm quite into Blush) and we're watching 'equestria girls' at the moment, it's weird.
We've been watching a lot of telly at the moment, thank god for Netflix!

I've been to the supermarket and stocked up on yogurts and jelly for poor A as she now has spots in her mouth Sad they're spreading all over bless her.
We're ready for a weekend at home! More tv! And maybe a BBQ if the weathers nice.

americanexpat · 06/06/2014 22:40

wiggles - happy birthday! Wine Cake for you and a Biscuit for your mum. Grin

Sorry to all who have chicken pox, I'm quite glad L got the vaccine.

Another mum at L's nursery has invited us out tonight, to a beer garden with the children. I'm oddly excited, as I've struggled to make friends here. And she complimented my new hairstyle this morning. Grin

Emski76 · 07/06/2014 20:22

Ponyo, how's Anya today? Noah is much better today tho has been awake from before 5am the last 2 mornings. We've bee. Using Piriton and it knocks him out!! Most of his spots are starting to scab so hopefully we're coming out the other end. Ben hasn't had it yet so we're waiting for him to catch it now. Worried it may be in the next few weeks as he has ridiculous phonics test at school and more importantly were off to Legoland in 2 weeks for 2 days.
Wiggles, my mum always said the older you get the less you care about what others think, and she was so right.....not that I'm saying your old or anything! By the way, I sometimes watch Victorious while I'm peddling away on the bike at the gym. I sadly quite enjoy it!!
Blizy sounds like all is going brilliantly. Bet you can't wait to see the baby on your scan!
Those out tonight, I hope you have a fab time, dh and I have just eaten our curries. Think I'll be in bed soon!

PonyoLovesHam · 08/06/2014 22:55

Hi all, emski Anya is scabby, which is good! My mum has come to stay tonight so she can look after A tomo, we were thinking she might need to be here tues and wed too but i think really A could go back to nursery tomorrow, we'll keep her off one more day then back she goes! Really hope the pox doesn't interfere with your holiday plans, what a nightmare that would be. Really we're lucky all we have missed is a swimming lesson and optician appointment, I'd have been so gutted if it had happened during our summer trip to Brighton!

American I didn't know you could get a vaccine for chicken pox, until our friends who are visiting from New Orleans this weekend said the exact same thing! To dp, not me, I was stuck at home with the spotty one WinkGrin

Hope everyone is ok. Nothing else exciting to report here but glad A is finally on the mend, though luckily emski it hasn't meant too many early starts, just 3am crying because she was itchy, then she slept in until 9am yesterday Shock

Reastie · 09/06/2014 19:22

Hi all,

Alice is being very spirited at the minute. We are having terrible trouble at bedtime. You know she has never really self settled and we've had to walk/bf her to sleep at night/for her naps? Well, now we have to lie in her bed with her before she will go to sleep. This is fine when she will actually go to sleep but she's started not going to sleep for ages. Last night it took us 2 hours to get her to go to sleep. It's definitely getting worse and no idea what to do about it [desperate] .

She's been hard work today, I'm hoping it's down to tiredness of not going to bed until late last night [stares at Alice] and the hot weather. We've had a number of meltdowns today Confused

Hope the pox ridden ones are doing OK. Alice has had the vaccine too so fingers crossed we don't get that joy.

Wiggles how was the birthday?

american I have finally finished the dress this week end, put piccies on fb, was actually really pleased with myself as it looks quite good if I do say so myself Grin

Ledkr back and recovered?

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 10/06/2014 10:57

reastie that's hard re bedtimes. Anna is taking a little bit longer to settle at night but I think that's a mixture of the very bright nights, the other two being up & general mischievousness. But she's still settled & asleep in about 45 mins. Although she still wakes up very early.

Birthday went great - lots of lovely presents & food Smile I got some money & very magnanimously bought an iPad, between Mr W, Olivia & Sofia I haven't actually got a look in yet Hmm

I was grand about turning 40 but I'm having wobbles about Sofia turning 9 next week Blush . She's getting so grown up Smile . Starting to think about "big school" & transfer tests!

ponyo hope A is over the worst of it now xx

Grannyapple · 10/06/2014 21:37

Ah glad you had a fab birthday w/e wiggs...I know the feeling re:iPad...DH got me one for crimbo when I was pg with Nate...sis was down visiting that year too & I barely hot a shot. Now Nate commandeers it as his!!

Yes yes yes to max & ruby...bloody annoying!!

Eh american...defo no to no 4!!! Picked up our new car for carting the brood around...no 3 is expensive enough (new car, building work wtc!), without adding another one in!!

reastie Nate went through that exact same phase a few months ago...we've managed to tell him to go to sleep but leave bedroom door open a little with the hall light on & he goes off. Ocassionally we agree to come back & check on him in 10mins...sometimes he remembers & shouts on us to go up!

blizy hope booking in appt goes well tomorrow xx

blizy · 11/06/2014 07:13

Granny today is scan day. I requested an early reassurance scan, I'm only 7+3. God I'm so freaking scared!
