Loving the confident theme this evening.

Flouncy I am loathe to take F to the doctors about her shit sleep. She has been in our bed for 2 months now, pretty much, bar the 2 good nights when she first went on omeprazole. If I try to cc, she falls asleep within 5 mins, then wakes 10 mins later, and takes longer and longer to go to sleep each time, before becoming totally hysterical, bawling her eyes out and hiccuping in distress. I don't know what to do. I think am going to try something similar to how I night weaned her, and kip on her floor for a few nights, and not allow her out of her cot. It's going to be bloody tough though as at work for the next 12 days.

Be back after bedtime to catch up some more.

I'm watching the pup run around with her upturned basket on her head. About to BF the bear to sleep. He seems much jollier (no doubt triggered by me booking a doctor's appointment!) and less refluxy. Fingers crossed. It's me being off the fecking dairy again I bet. My sis who is back eating dairy after three years off has been reacting badly when she mainlines cheese. Oh nos!

Our routine is a bit more flexible depending on when he wakes up - if it's late 8.30 to 9.30am he'll just have one nap about 1-2.30pm in the afternoon, otherwise he has two 40 minute ones about 11am and 3.30pm. Meals, snacks and BF (I'm back up to 4-5 a day on non nursery days, 3 on nursery days) are slotted in round these. Like Pidj naps are usually on the go as he hates his cot for daytime sleeps and I like to get out and about.

Ok I'm getting ridiculous now. Crying because FH didn't put my jacket over my shoulders properly.

J has his MMR on Thursday. Something to look forward to. He has had a good day at nursery today, but is a grumpy sod tonight. Like Flounceys J he does not know how to fall asleep himself or to settle himself. I could count on my hand the number of times he has managed it. Thankfully he does sleep threw occasionally. Gives me hope.

VQ Jonas feeds to sleep most nights and is certainly not a well trained self settler either. If I put him in the cot awake he'd go mental. He (used! before the fecking MMR) self settle at night but has needed fed to sleep when he's woken for the last month. He's so wee I'm not going to force night weaning on him - it doesn't necessarily seem to result in any more sleep if Littlepig is anything to go by and I think sometimes nursing at night helps his reflux - it is antacid I guess?

Ok bedtime tonight has involved much less arching and shrieking so I think his reflux might be abating. I hope it fucks off before DH flies to the Falklands

We are having lots of good days at nursery but total pisstakes of evenings . Now, French psychology would say that they are 'making us pay' for leaving them. I think they're just knackered from a good day and can be themselves with us. I think the best behaviour for others is ingrained from pretty early on. Both mine often have mental moments when they get home despite very active days at nursery.

F has never once fallen asleep without cuddling, rocking or feeding, not once in his entire life! He at least can most of the time settle himself in the night (I assume anyway as we do have lots of nights sleeping through) but sometimes he obviously wakes too much and will cry until I pick him up and cuddle him back to sleep -that can take anywhere between 1-3 hours so I dread night wakings

PR he's already been before and has fab pics of penguins. By rights it should be me going - I haven't ticked the Falklands off my 'country bingo' but I'm not a marine biologist and couldn't do his job for pish. Still no justice though.

Ditsy I'm glad it's not just us cuddling to sleep. My sister's two are awesome sleepers and she cuddled and fed them to sleep in the early days (1.5 - 2 years cough cough) so I don't worry about it being a rod for our backs long term.

That's reassuring about your sister's cuddly sleepers YW. I keep thinking I should work on it but it's the only cuddle time we get and it's since way for him to fall asleep

V not fair. Am sure there's room for all of us. Not sure they need people with my skills but they could reinvent themselves as a tax haven.

My uncle went to the falkland isles as a soldier. I was about 4 (would I be?) and I asked for a penguin. He came back with a toy penguin and a toy seal because he claimed he couldn't catch a real penguin.

I wish sleep was as infectious as tummy bugs and throat infections

I cuddle S to sleep too. She would also go crazy if I dared to put her in her cot awake. I like cuddling her to sleep, it's the only time she will sit still for long enough for me to really drink her in iykwim?

We also cuddle/feed/rock/pat to sleep. I am a soppy person who likes him going to bed happy.

Work was good...L had an awesome day at nursery and no tears.

P had her post story bottle tonight after two nights away from me.

I was all set for a few minutes snuggles but she started to squirm and cry.

Popped her in the cot and she rolled over and fell asleep

Wee p is getting to be a big girl and doesn't need mum sleep snuggles.

I am pleased but I wouldn't mind just a few more wee snuggles

I think flouncey deserves the biggest hugs and swearing as does VQ at the moment.
