pig that must have been really demoralising to hear :( he shouldn't have said that in front of everyone.

BigPigLittlePig · 25/11/2013 20:06

TBF, my junior-est dr who I now love said to me afterwards that he was harsh, and that he never sees me managing the acutely poorly patients, which she said I was fab at. Am ignoring her lack of experience and therefore inability to compare with others lol.

Lydiejo · 25/11/2013 20:08

YW you all should come on over! I will throw in a few more turkeys for you. It would be so fun to meet Smile It may be a long trip for a turkey that doesn't turn out though... haha.

Sophia thanksgiving is really just where we eat the biggest feast of the year and get fat like we americans do best, right? My sisters and I used to always say when we were little that if you just jump up and down the food will squash down and then you can eat more. We eat turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy on everything, cranberry sauce, green bean casseroles, sweet potatoes.... and more. Plus the pies, pecan and pumpkin mmmm. I love it. Around here everything christmas springs to life the day after and we have "black friday" where all the stores open early and have big sales for christmas shopping. I think London sounds like the place to be for christmas though... maybe it's all those years watching a muppets christmas carol. We watch it every year- it's tradition!

YellowWellies · 25/11/2013 20:14

BP what a nob! Envy Not very constructive feedback. Omeprazole at a high dose changed our lives in all seriousness and I hope it brings you sleep. I think all of the extreme sleep and / or food dodgers have met their match via omeprazole! Growth spurts and teeth aside I think if there is still consistent sleep avoidance at this age it's got to be pain and if long term - it's most likely something they're eating.

We've just upped the bear to 17mg per day which is spot on for 2mg/kg he'd fallen beneath that dosage line as we'd not upped it since July despite weight gain but he'd started smelling of sour milk and his nights have been increasingly disturbed for a month or so - so figured he still needed it.

He can handle soy in bread but has been squeaky after Wagamamas visits (he loves udon noodles!) so I'm not convinced he has yet made friends with soya enough for him to drink soy milk..... When is it safe for boys to drink soy from a hormone perspective? We were told to avoid until one.

Lydiejo · 25/11/2013 20:15

BigPig you are a doctor? Sorry that someone felt the need to be so rude at work. I think you must be brilliant. There are few women doctors here where I live, i don't think I've ever met one. I'm impressed Smile

Also, I can't seem to get things in bold. Let's see... hello hello hello

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 20:33

Have you explored the rest of mn lydie ?

Your thanksgiving sounds yum.

I still haven't decided what to do for xmas. I have just realised that I must have missed the xmas tree order form. A farm outside the village normally sends out an order form and there is a big village party on the Sarurday closest to St Nicholas when the trees get delivered to the village square. Then you have to lug it home Hmm

And I've missed out. Will have to buy from a garden centre :( they are much more expensive.

Anyone watching the Amazon guilt trip on bbc1?

LO finally in bed. Tooth number 8 has popped through since yesterday.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 20:35

I mean I haven't decided what to do food wise for xmas. Did beef wellington last year. It was really good. Might do that again.

PurplePidjin · 25/11/2013 20:40

Evening all. all round. I managed 5 hours of both babies (3 week age gap, R is the elder) both with colds and teething and refusing to be put down. Doing it all again tomorrow as other dc not up to nursery - 10 hour days with a bollocksed up settling in period is not fun for anyone so this is the best way, if knackering. R was so drowsy when i picked him up from my mum (i had work this afternoon) he refused boob when we got home, just held my hand to go to sleep Shock

BigPigLittlePig · 25/11/2013 20:50

Lydie I am indeed. There are more female junior doctors in the UK than male now, although still more male at higher levels - think they'll have to change the part-time work set up before that changes.

I meant to add YW, the question of whether she is eating something which is disagreeing with her is one that is in my head. Although I struggle to work out what as there is nothing new in her diet of late. I suspect it is more that she has had shit control for 2 months, what with teeth and illness and multiple accidental dietary challenges. The GP is phoning in a week, and if sleep and reflux no better, off to the paediatrician.

Apple crumble and cream, yum.

Well done on surviving pidj!

GTbaby · 25/11/2013 20:52

In sleep cot transfer feed hell cycle. T
And all I keep thinking I left my dishes in sink. I need to go wash them or mil will go ape shit in morning.

GTbaby · 25/11/2013 20:56

Think I might get streamer put for veggies for Xmas dinner. Will result in less room being used up hob wise.

Brilliant. Now his own fart scared him

BigPigLittlePig · 25/11/2013 21:03

GT I do not know how you keep calm. I would flip my lid if I lived with my ILs. Have some Wine

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 21:13

Sorry gt I had to laugh at him being scared at his own farts. DH let one off over the weekend and both girls jumped out of their skin :o

horseylady · 25/11/2013 21:15

I'm horseless and it's fucking shit. Well I have my pony, but her rider is doing her do for the foreseeable future I just have nothing. It's Horrid. I'm looking for horses and it's been one day :(

Not read anything sorry guys. Mentally I'm just done in.

I'm useless at everything. I have zero confidence and I need to sort my self out.

Ds had jabs today. Also fell over at cm and cut his head. That's on top of yesterday's fall in m&s and bruised cheek.

Rubbish.

Elizadoesdolittle · 25/11/2013 21:18

blpl Poor minipig, hope the medicine works wonders.

pr I'm just watching it now. I use amazon a lot!

pidj Well done for surving today and good luck for tomorrow!

lily all the best for the move.

lydie Your thanks giving dinner sounds amazing.

Re sterilising, I haven't used mine since E was 6 months. I still have it sitting in the kitchen. Must put it away!

Had a lovely visit to Santas grotto today. DD1 of course got much more out of it than E but she seemed to really enjoy the animatrons music and lights. And I got that all important Santa photo and E is only just starting to cry!

BigPigLittlePig · 25/11/2013 21:19

Horsey today is just a shit day - remember your post the other week about the mega-ness that is you? You rock, today doesn't xx

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 21:22

horsey you know in a couple of years you'll be able to get E a pony? Really sorry to hear about the injuries. Unfortunately this is our life for a good year or two - stupid injuries from learning to walk, run and jump. Then we'll be worrying about falls out of trees, off walls and horses.

LO has worked out how to climb onto the coffee table Hmm

horseylady · 25/11/2013 21:29

pig you're right. I think it's just so much has gone wrong and everyone keeps coming to me and I just don't know the sodding answers to everything. I just feel like I've done so much, I've got it going, people can sort out these tiny bits themselves.

pr I'm getting another horse. It's just finding the right one. Next week I'll be better as I'll hopefully have things to ride. This week was always going to be hard. I have a choice if 5 or 6 horses to ride/break in/compete. I Just need to meet them and try them. It's just, today's the first I've not ever HAD to go there since, well I can't remember?! I can't remember not having a horse?

horseylady · 25/11/2013 21:30

Oh god and climbing. He was climbing on the wheely big. Which rolls off.

Face plant!!

GTbaby · 25/11/2013 21:45

And one day it will be tears from broken hearts. Time will fly!

Was looking at A earlier think how much he has changed. Must enjoy this time more. I told Fh these are the last new born days we will have. He doesn't take me seriously. No one does.

So I gave up on A sleeping and we are downstairs enjoying left over bday cake and coke. Oh dear.

Lydiejo · 25/11/2013 21:45

PR i have snooped around a bit but haven't posted anywhere else.

Horsey i hope you can find the perfect horse that will lift you mood. DH has this dream of owning horses and a ranch and lots of land. He is a cowboy at heart.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/11/2013 22:03

Spooky thread in active called "so etching strange happend to me today (or.eaerlier) " has super freaked me out.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 22:06

That must be hard horsey . When I had to stop riding, even never having owned a horse, it was pure grief. I don't want to be one of those pony club mums who live their riding life via their kids so I think I'm just going to have to ride again. It was such a stupid accident but with such huge consequences but I can't bear the thought of never riding again. I hope you find your new horse soon, I can imagine you're missing a limb at the moment (so to speak).

What happened with kirrin's horse btw?

V cold here tonight. Dog just slipped on the terrace and has a slight cut on his mouth where he bit himself. He loves the snow and ice (snow gone for now) but has to get used to it I guess.

lydie I have a life long dream to go on a ranch holiday in the us. Will have to wait til the girls are old enough.

eliza round here st. Nicholas is a bigger deal than santa (even though it's one and the same) and he visits creches and schools early December. DD1 was still a confident lass last year and bawled when she saw him. Will try and find a picture to put on fb.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 22:07

Ooh off to look at spooky fred. The office one got dull...

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 22:15

Ooh a prank from her DH ? Not woo. She's been following the office thread so she might be on woo alert (though am starting to agree, reluctantly, that that is a hoax of some kind)

I am woo. But my current woo experience has a v real explanation. My bedroom door does a kind of sighing noise as it moves on its hinges. Fine when it's me pushing it but when the bloody cat pushes it open and the house is quiet I jump. Sounds like someone is doing a nice contented sigh in their sleep :o
