Thanks lily and chasing

yw bailey has done this a few times. spooooky!

Gas man has been here two hours and no further forward. I am so cold!

Also P is whinging about breing tired. He "only got 3 hours sleep" at work last night apparently Hmm M was up every hour Angry . And he is asleep now.

He did slightly redeem himself today bringing me breakfast in bed and convincing the nursery to refund my deposit. But then with all things P, he gives with one hand and then takes it allll back with the other Angry Angry Angry

Elizadoesdolittle · 25/11/2013 14:44

Thanks for lily xx

ChasingDaisy · 25/11/2013 16:02

Just to double check: I can retire my steriliser on O's birthday right? I hope so as I'm excitedly planning what I can fill that space on the kitchen worktop with.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 16:22

Got called in by nursery to pick up dd1. Conjunctivitis back again. Have to take her back to gp tomorrow then she can go back to nursery on Wednesday. Oh well, will be an opportunity to get her chest listened to.

Chatted to nursery mgr. DD1 will be starting school next September and LO will start the following September at 2y10m. She could have that postponed until January 2016 for convenience as she won't be allowed to eat in the canteen or go to after school club until she turns 3.

It all seems so soon.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 16:22

Yes you can chasing I got rid of mine at 6 months. Enjoy the extra space :)

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 16:36

Arse. Was doing a sausage and bean casserole and don't have any beans in.

Bugger.

Oh well, sausage casserole then Hmm

TheDetective · 25/11/2013 17:03

Lily Sending lots of love your way.

Chasing I find that stuff hard to watch also. And yep! My steriliser went to the tip on the eve of O's birthday! I would have used it next time but it's always been a pain in the ass, and I couldn't get it squeaky clean Confused. So I didn't feel I could sell it on, or use it again. Oh well! I am putting a toaster in it's place! Grin

DS1 will be delighted! He's getting one for christmas haha!

QQ for the DF'ers. Okay. O is one. If he was on cows milk he would be having that now. But he isn't. So do we have to still give the nutramigen, or can we switch to an easy to fucking pour alternative? I'm concerned about his calcium intake, so I'm not planning on going to beakers yet. But I would like to make things easier by not needing to make the fecking things up every time?!

What other things can they have now they are one? Honey and runny eggs, I know. But anything else good?!

O loved loved loved the bacon and mushroom carbonara we had last night. Mushrooms have been a surprise hit here! Which is daft, because they are my favourite food. Don't know why I haven't given them whole before recently! That's another SW friendly meal that O can have, which makes life much easier!

What's the guide on salt now? I could google, but, well, I'm being lazy!

I have stupid shifts at work this week :( Nights tonight and tomorrow, then sunday night for 4 nights gaaaah. Hate it when you get shit like that.

See you all wednesday probably!

:)

ChasingDaisy · 25/11/2013 17:06

Det, I'm looking forward to ceremoniously throwing it away after using it for the final time on Weds Grin A toaster already sits next to it, might pop my nice Typhoon scales in its place. I am once again reminded how I lucky I am by O having no intolerances food wise. Hats off to all the DFers.

Although, I am yet to test O on strawberries and peanuts (mine and XPs allergies) Think I will start with strawberries. While sitting outside A&E.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 17:12

I think salt needs to be kept out of their diets as long as possible so avoid ready meals and don't add salt to his food. Salt in pasta and rice water and in things like ham are fine though. I add very little salt when I cook anyway but I don't do separate salt free portions now, because I add so little.

Honey is ok now and in fact was never on the French banned list. I think it is pretty much high sugar and high foods that are still banned in fact. And cows' mik of course in France, though dairy in cheese, butter etc is encouraged. LO has ready made what they call growth long life milk. Pretty much the same as price of fresh milk which is a luxury here Hmm they prefer their uht bollocks.

Mmm I love mushrooms too.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 17:14

Lots of calcium in canned fish and dark leafy greens by the way like spinach (?) and cabbage and broccoli

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 17:15

Oh the growth milk wil be til age 3-ish, and is based on cows' milk but treated somehow to break down the proteins. They add vitamins too I think, and iron.

YellowWellies · 25/11/2013 17:37

Det Jonas is on boob and nutramigen. He also loves cartons of the strawberry flavoured koko milk. Opening a bottle of cow's milk and pouring them a cup must be fab and it'll happen one day - just not yet as I know too many dairy fed sleep avoiders and I'm not keen to join their number!

Had a busy day today, freelance, a lovely walk with the dog on the beach, paid my national insurance and nursery fees and got confirmation that my big freelance project is a goer - whoop! With an, if I fancy it, trip to about the most rigid country in the Middle East (think women not being allowed to drive) I haz wanderlust but I don't fancy a business trip without the bear....

Lydiejo · 25/11/2013 17:48

Hip horray for being 1 and not having to worry about what they eat. L went straight from breastmilk to cow milk in 1 day. After she quit nursing I pumped for 3 weeks and was soooo done by her birthday I just made the switch.

I'm making my secret santa right now and it's so much fun! Very excited for christmas this year. DH and I haven't decided if we will go to his parent's for christmas or after christmas.... I'm hoping after. Our first christmas 2 years ago we spent with them and I hated it but hate to admit it. We only got a gift card each from them and it was lame. Then DH used both of them to buy himself a coat. I guess I am selfish. Our little nephew was the center of attention the whole time (they have custody of him.) But I feel bad because it's been a while since we went to see them. It's an 8 hour drive on nasty roads especially in the winter. I do get along with them well though, I am very blessed.

But before that we have thanksgiving on thursday! I am cooking the turkey this year, praying I don't mess it up! Friday or saturday we will go trudging through the forest to find the perfect christmas tree! YAY. I love decorating the tree.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 17:50

That's brilliant yw well done! Cake and Wine

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/11/2013 18:08

Oh it is lovely to free up the space taken up by the sterilizer.

Oh dear for the d&v zamboni I hope you have picked up.

Happy birthday gt

Thanks chasing I am boycotting Loose Wome because of a crass thing what's her face Nolan did last week in a discussion that touched a nerve upset me.

Thanks for lily can't imagine.

MIL has had the boys all day, pretty much, while I went to finish my Christmas shopping. I also boosted all my club card points and stocked up on wine. I really stocked up on wine. I have done DH one of those wine rack advent calendar things that have been flying round on fb with a bottle on champagne on Christmas Eve. I treated myself to a salted caramel latte d morning and a really delicious lunch at Deli Lites, chicken and jarlsburg cheese with mayo and chillis and salad and yum stuff on toasted focaccia.

No we are having a whineathon. Hmm

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/11/2013 18:12

lydiejo share more about Thanksgiving. Does your house smell like cinnemon?

You may find yw sorry if I am parade pissing that when the time comes J doesn't like cows milk. DD one can not stand it. But we do the Rice
Dream with added calcium and I bulk but it.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/11/2013 18:12

Cinnamon

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/11/2013 18:13

FFS. I am so rubbish.

TheDetective · 25/11/2013 18:16

Waaaaaaaah! MN is driving me mad!

Hope this posts Hmm.

Anyway. YW Would you give oat milk instead of the Nutramigen? I am going to speak to the dietician this week. I thought I had to cancel as I was in work, but must have read my shifts wrong! So we can still attend the appt.

Thought I'd share some big hits we've had with the birthday toys! Pop up tunnel, cars that you press and they roll along, click clack crocodile, spinning top, funky footprints, the doll and pram, toy drum.

Although he is currently stalking around the living room with his cloth hanging off his finger over his shoulder. Like some sort of catalogue model!

Oh, now he has switched to wearing it on his head, arms stretched out, like some sort of zombie ghost.

Child is bonkers. Hmm

Lily311 · 25/11/2013 18:24

Thanks for being so kind. It's been a rough couple of days, the built up always is. And it didn't help that O has been a clingy monster, I couldn't even look into a different direction without the wailing. She is asleep now and I hope she will stay like that till morning.

Haven't shared it yet but I am moving this Thurs. Staying in the same building but going into a bigger apartment. So packing and unpacking all week, I will not move for at least another year after this. I'm tired. And my back hurts.

My secret santa will be on its way this week, I might be without internet for a week or so.

And I am grateful that O can eat anything and I don't need to worry about allergies.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 18:39

Good luck with the move lily

PetiteRaleuse · 25/11/2013 19:16

OMG go the fuck to sleep. Why is LO sleep dodging the last few evenings? Sleeps through when she finally settles but bedtime is a battle I could do without right now.

StuntNun · 25/11/2013 19:23

Wine rack advent calendar Sophia? I hope he doesn't have to have a bottle each day. Shock I have vowed that the dog will not eat the chocolate advent calendars this year if I have to nail them to the ceiling.

OP posts:
YellowWellies · 25/11/2013 19:33

Sophia I hate the taste of cow's milk and even before J wouldn't drink it so I won't be surprised if he doesn't take to it once he can have it. Det I'm not sure why but the dietician hasn't recommended oat milk as a drink (it is bloody awful other than in cooking) I think he'd take to koko more readily TBH. I'll ask her in December!

VQ good luck for your paed appointment. We've got one on Thursday too. You asked about allergy testing - bear in mind J might not have any - just intolerances like Jonas which can only be tested for by dietary exclusion.

Jonas has just clung to me since coming home from nursery - even Daddy cuddles result in a sad 'Mumumum' and craning for me - he's got three more teeth coming. He doesn't do things by halves: 0 to 11 possibly 12 teeth in 6 weeks Shock (can't tell exactly as they're so sharp!).

Lily good luck in your new home xx

Lydie what time are we all invited round for Thanksgiving? Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 25/11/2013 19:55

Evening all!
