November 2012 - The last few first birthdays then we're on to Christmas

We have owls here. All summer at dusk there was one in the woods in front of the house hooting and another one somewhere behind the house hooting back. Once one swooped right down over the garden.

Where we lived until last year I used to walk down a track with the dog last thing at night. We'd go past the stables and into the woods and I would often see them. I don't often do night or dusk walks anymore as I am scared of the boar but until that particular fear developed I loved going out at night and listening to the wildlife.

I had no idea how fiddly sodding Playmobil is. If I buy a toy I do not expect to assemble the ruddy thing in its entirety. I thought sylvanian families were bad, but this is worse! I have bought a few bits for the advent season, and thankfully decided to make a start on them tonight.

Christmas traditions? Falling asleep in a pile under the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. Pillows and duvets and cuddles. And the faint smell of piss.

Oh dear. We have a very upset little boy with painful swellings under his jaw, towards the back. I'm thinking this must be the mild mumps children can get following the MMR. Anyone else experienced this? Have given Calpol. He's had a cold the last few days so thought it was that but it's definitely something more bothering him.

Do not skip two feeds before bed. Lo will sleep longer then ever before. You will wake up covered in milk. Your boobs will feel ready to explode. Lo will feed, but not enough to ease pain. Annoyed at sleep lost due to expressing.

Shoot me now. I'm predicting I will fall asleep at 7am or 15 mins before H wakes up. Whichever comes 1st.

Random ramble. Sleeping through the night (to me) means baby sleeps while you do. Personally I don't think 3 feeds during this time allows for the term sleeping through. Some oct13 mums think this. But who am I to burst their bubble. Whatever gets you through the day.

Random rumble part two. Just put on FH tracky bottoms to go down stairs. They are tight. Looked At pics from yesterday. And I look massive. After tracky incident, I now know it wasn't just "an unflattering picture" as FH suggested.

We have an owl who lives in the trees nearby, possibly a paeir as we get toowits and toowoos?

jj that sounds like post jab mumps. Not contagious and shouldn't last too long. A nice reminder of what mumps proper would be. I had it and it was awful :(

Pikz DD had croup and it wasn't nice but it did go quickly. I had lots of v hot showers and sat her in with me for the steam.

I am home from work. I never take sick days. I either have a d&v big or got food poisoning. If the former than S is going to get it because he sleeps where I can't help but breathe on him and he's constantly putting his fingers in my mouth. If the latter there's a good chance I poisoned friends who came for lunch y'day.

The logistics of making sure S wouldn't fall out of my bed when I went to vom were complicated. DH was a superstar. He bed hopped as necessary, sat with S, got up early, sorted everything and took DC to nursery and volunteered he wouldn't go to hockey if I was still unwell tonight. DH volunteering not to hockey is unheard of. So he may give me the fave about fart related fibs, but I am really very thankful for him.

No idea chasing. I haven't been wearing mine since O was born as I scratched her with it on day 1. I put it away for O, I might turn it into something later on.

Sis bought me some nice gifts so at least I got something. A face wash cleanse n toner all in one as she is disgusted at the fact I don't wash my face properly n some lovely earrings.

Feeling a lil down in the dumps today. I've managed a shower today, so at least that's something.

Whisper- I think fil coming home n them being at home all the time is getting to me. Least before the op they would go out for a few hours every day. So I'd get a lil break. ATM fil is not feeling up to going out so I never get any kind of break.

I postponed O's jabs. The receptionist was lovely. She said it is a drop in clinic every Weds so just to bring him in when he's fully recovered.

Just rang nursery to pay my fees and had a chat with the manager about how Jonas is settling. It turns out he's normally very settled but he is crying whenever the door to his room opens today as he is looking for me. Am feeling proper guilty. Poor little chap. He got a new molar last night and is probably just wanting cuddles (notwithstanding he got nigh on three hours of fecking cuddles between 12.40 and 3am). Am working my ass off on my freelance so I can go and get him early
