Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/11/2013 18:55

Hi lidy great to see you here too.

AM Excited for you chasing can we have an outfit preview.

I am just organising my Christmas Party night. With DH. I think he is just humouring me but he has agreed to a. Party night so whoop whoop.

ValiumQueen · 20/11/2013 18:56

Zamboni it will be advertised imminently and it has my fucking name on it Grin

MsJupiterJones · 20/11/2013 18:57

L isn't walking or talking properly yet. He's taken a few steps and learnt to climb on the sofa so I expect he will soon - I walked at 13.5m so not worried. Same with talking, he babbles a lot but no real words apart from maybe 'dgo' for dog. He understands words though and knows who daddy, gran etc are and will point to his nose, I just don't think he's worked out that he can communicate with us back yet. He does say NONONONONONO quite a lot so DH & I hope that isn't a reflection on us!

Happy birthday to PR on this sweary Wednesday.

MsJupiterJones · 20/11/2013 18:58

And happy less-sweary-Birthday to Lily's O!

ValiumQueen · 20/11/2013 19:23

J is not walking and he is one of the oldest. He is not talking, just Dada and random noises, but can sing and hold a tune.

ChasingDaisy · 20/11/2013 19:31

No walking here. Barely any standing really. And we have had one word in context, once.

ChasingDaisy · 20/11/2013 19:35

But I'm not worried. He babbles and is happy. There's no rush Smile

YellowWellies · 20/11/2013 19:40

Ahhhh I'm glad it's not just me with a non walking (he can with the walker but that doesn't count) non chatterbox. DH and I have been teasing (out of earshot!) that he's Neo from the Matrix. "Cute but not too bright" Grin .

PetiteRaleuse · 20/11/2013 19:57

LO is an older baby (13 mo already!) and only took her first proper steps last week. There is no reason for any one to worry about it. DD1 walked and talked late.

Pikz · 20/11/2013 20:11

Happy birthday PR and little lily! Xxx

Passmethecrisps · 20/11/2013 20:16

Fucking love new people!

Bon anniversaire pr. Enjoy yo bubbles.

I am very, very proud of you evil if you are around. You are a superstar. Did you get all the posts you need?

Thanks to you all for your thoughts on nicknames. I love all these wee ponderances that we have. I love reading everyone's perspective. And all the bonkers nicknames.

I would be hopping from foot to foot with excitement yw! DH and I were supposed to be going out for a pint on Saturday night but we were still eating tea at 9pm the p woke and was really unhappy for over an hour. It's not at all like her so I would have felt awful leaving her. MIL seemed perplexed about my anxiety but it is just so unusual for p to wake like that so I was concerned. There was certainly no way I would have gone out. I am sure she thought I was being ridiculous.

And also! Geeeeeeeeeez the feeding of babies. I know I am sensitive about what p eats but heavens to Betsy. I kept walking into rooms to find P being spooned things. She also has no concept of dairy free. I am giving p dairy but typically one thing a week max at the moment. So for example if she has a piece of cake with butter cream then no to buttery mash, apple crumble with butter, custard, Yorkshire puddings or ice cream. Yes, she was fed all those things. In 24 hours. As well as biscuits and strawberries with lumps of icing sugar on. Then she offered some cheese.

For supper on Saturday I said she would have beans on toast. Mil was most concerned that this was no dinner for a bairn. Would she not have an egg? DH and I said again that she was allergic to eggs so that was a no no. "Won't she take an egg? I couldn't scramble her an egg?"

However. I am not complaining much as they both ADORE p and are so keen to be involved. Sadly my own parents didn't even call on her birthday. Not even a text. Sad

Thechick · 20/11/2013 20:18

Hello all and happy birthday PR and O. We have no walking or proper talking or pointing or singing. He understands simple commands like can I have...... and kind of says thank you and nice kiss but they sounds like variations of dada.

Passmethecrisps · 20/11/2013 20:27

P does no talking at all. She makes a sound that might possibly be "hia". And goes "aieee" when she sees any cat.

It is wonderful how differently they develop. Play groups and nurseries would be all either very, very noisy or completely chaotic if they all did things at the same time!

Passmethecrisps · 20/11/2013 20:29

And happy birthday to mini lily. Hope you had a wonderful day.

How are flouncing and vq today?

I thought you showed the eye of the quiche yesterday vq. Good stuff.

BigPigLittlePig · 20/11/2013 20:35

Happy birthday pr Wine

Cacacaz · 20/11/2013 20:47

Happy Birthday pr and O*

PetiteRaleuse · 20/11/2013 20:48

LO is v clingy atm and a little unsettled at night, hard to get her down etc. am wondering if it is more teeth, the cold she's got or if something is worrying her somehow. It's since she walked on Thursday so maybe walking is just far too overwhelming for her little mind to cope with. Who knows?!

PetiteRaleuse · 20/11/2013 20:49

Thanks for your birthday wishes. Lyd do ask us questions about our weird terminology and fish obsessions :o

misslaughalot · 20/11/2013 20:53

Not been around for a couple of days, missed loads of chat!

Happy birthday PR and mini lily.

Evil how are you and N today? You are an inspiration!

Welcome Lydie!

We shorten O's name and other people have followed our lead on that. We also have a nickname for her, she's the boobah or our little boo. Not sure where that came from but it's been around for a few months so I think it's going to stick. My dad gave me a nickname (not even vaguely related to my actual name) when I was a baby that he still calls me to this day at the grand old age of 37. I love it as it's just between us.

O is standing if she can lean against something, but nowhere near taking any steps yet. She can say momma, daddy, kiss, book. DP swears she said banana yesterday, but I think it was just a random collection of sounds and she got lucky.

We are definitely going through the 12 month growth spurt, she's waking 3-5 times a night and will only settle back down with a feed. Was hoping to give up bf next month so not sure how that's going to work...

Right, off to watch I'm A Celebrity...please tell me I'm not the only one?!

BigPigLittlePig · 20/11/2013 21:08

You're not the only one...I LOVE IT!!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/11/2013 21:12

We are not talking or walking yet. We cruise, and I only bought the cruisers today as we had an incident where O pulled the door over his toe, lacerating said toe. Blood spurting everywhere. His eyes were popping out of his head never having Seen blood before. I went on the premise if it soaks through the plasters we will be off to......somewhere....don't know where I would go exactly. I probably should find out. I know the nearest hospital is a 45 min drive. Anyway it didn't but I thought I better start protecting him from his own misadventures.

We say hiya, Ova (his version of his name we think) and mama. DH is most disappointed that his doesn't say dada. Ha ha.

Thechick · 20/11/2013 21:24

We don't have mama. We do this game where I say mmmmmmmum and he says mmmmmmmmda

fruitpastilles · 20/11/2013 21:32

I love I'm a celeb too. I like that I actually know who most of the celebs are this year!

ChasingDaisy · 20/11/2013 21:32

Ooh Oscar can do his shape sorter! Well, the circles. Then he takes the lid off and chucks the rest of the shapes in Grin
