Bloody freezing here this morning.

Zamboni · 20/11/2013 08:55

Happy Birthday lily's O and PR.

fruit we're the same. I CBA to battle about it. He goes through phases but am hoping as he wakes less he will come in with us less. I know I am delusional but you're not alone. Flowers

eliza hope E is ok after her jabs.

VQ good to have feedback and something to work towards. Smile When will you next have a chance to apply? I hope the coughs go away - S still has a fecking cough from time to time and it is so disruptive on sleep - for everyone! Lots of sympathy here.

Happy birthday to lilys O. Hope you have a lovely day at the zoo. And happy birthday Wine to you pr. Maybe save the wine for when the kids are in bed. Enjoy.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/11/2013 09:22

Sorry about the rubbish nights. I do not know how you do it but they seem to get there in the end. Brew

We had O down with us all last evening don't know if it was the jabs or something else and just a coincidence. He is very much a Clingon at the moment and hard work. If he is awake he is attached to me. Except for times like now when he is busy munching on a rice cake and raisins before we go to toddlers. Personally would rather stay in by the fire and watch Santa Claus the movie. Even the birds are flying sideways is so windy!

FlouncingIsles · 20/11/2013 09:35

Morning. Happy birthday babies and mummies.

We have a cinema date this morning with M's wee friend from swimming Grin

I would be delighted with a hat too Smile

FlouncingIsles · 20/11/2013 10:09

Ohh FFS. Do you want a laugh ladies? P's new solution to childcare having had a strop that I'd agreed to a childminder without consulting him - an au pair. Hmm

flouncymcflouncerson · 20/11/2013 10:33

Happy birthday to the birthday babies and of course pr

We had a bad night... Just for change lol. Dh cuddled J to sleep and then managed to get him in cot for an hour or so. Then he wouldn't go down back down when he woke up at midnight. Ended up in our bed which is never ideal but post op even worse. Then was just not settling around 4.30 so Dh took him downstairs at 5am. Dd came through at 6.45am.

The only plus point is that Dh is off just now for a few weeks and since I can't do much anything to help.

Have been to gp this morning and got painkillers sorted and a sick line. Hospital had me on tramadol and morphine and cocodamol but discharged me with just the codeine and some laxatives. Which I can't take as they make me retch and I end panicking about bursting the stitches and wrecking the surgeons work.

Can't get through to speak to anyone useful at work. Just told to call back which isn't ideal!

Pidj your hats are ace. I love them so don't be daft. I haven't investigated the secret santa thing but probably can't get to a post office anyway so that counts me out I'd think.

flouncymcflouncerson · 20/11/2013 10:34

An au pair?!? He really is one of a kind isn't he isles

YellowWellies · 20/11/2013 11:15

Flouncy you really are bloody epic to cope with all that you cope with, with such a positive kick-ass attitude. Hope the meds help.

Isles hilarious. What sort of bloke wants to move in a young poor, pretty lass from overseas for 'childcare' and generally looking after him adoringly? (ok all of them in a wet dream but in real life???) ... tell him so long as the Au Pair is a strapping six foot blonde Scandinavian bloke called Sven you're open to the idea! Wink

Bear at nursery. Another weepy drop off. I think it's worse when I try to stay around and settle him. Maybe I should just hand him over and run Hmm ? He loves it when he's there just wants me to stay. How long til drop off becomes less of a heartbreak Sad ?

Can we all raise a 'Golden norks' Wine to my twin sister who has solidly back to back BF two refluxy CMPI babies for 4 years 3 months and 1 day. She's weaning her prem daughter today on her 2 years adjusted birthday. (Other than 1.5 months of expressing in the middle when her daughter was too prem to nurse / be out of the incubator but she pumped to keep her supply). She's also been dairy free for nearly 3 years! Shock I've been so lucky to have her help teach me everything about BF. She is planning to gorge herself on dairy everything tonight! Smile

GTbaby · 20/11/2013 11:40

Shit. Night. You will all be happy to know as much as H is a good sleeper A is not. Number 3 will deff not be happening !
My back aches im all stiff im snotty.

Grumble grumble grumble.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/11/2013 12:38

Clink yw that is good going you can tell her I am suitably impressed!

Elizadoesdolittle · 20/11/2013 13:09

God yw that is some achievement. Well done her!

On the subject of cmpi babies, my friend is convinced her 4 month old has an intolerance to cows milk. She mentioned it to GP but he just sort of shrugged his shoulders. She is ebf so doing the diary free diet. She is getting to the point where she wants to introduce some formula once a day. I told her you can only get the special milk on prescription and to push for a pead appt. Did I give the right advice?

Lily311 · 20/11/2013 13:25

isles I'm pretty sure it's illegal for an aupair to look after such young babies unsupervised.

Friends issue. I have tons in the UK. Very very supportive ones and I miss them to bits. Since I moved to Hungary I find it very hard opening up to people. There are two girls I see every week but they are very far from being friends. It's tough but I'm working on it.

We had an amazing morning in the zoo, she loved it and the weather was mild, perfect for walking around. We have my brother and his family over this afternoon to share the cake than I need to tackle the assignment which is due tomorrow.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/11/2013 13:38

It is hard to make friends, I went off to toddler group this morning, really wanting to stay at home. I was glad I went, I had a lovely chat with someone who has a son who will be in DS1s class who is really nice. (Though she is my SILs friend and I really want to make some friends who are just mine, does that sound childish? I just want a friend who is out of the family loop just for sanities sake)

Anyway you will not believe. It was mini fry week! They serve a mini fry. Shock so bacon, beans! sausage! tomatoes! fired soda and fried potato farl. I was shocked but it was nice and my quinoa lunch at home is being saved for tomorrow

Good job is keep fat tonight.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/11/2013 13:43

yw what size leggings did you get? I am looking at some for O but wonder how they come up size wise. O is only 20lbs so on just thinking about going into some 12 month stuff but I wonder if the 6-12 would be snug.

YellowWellies · 20/11/2013 13:44

Eliza yep that's the right advice. Though theoretically a GP can prescribe nutramigen or neocate and if the baby is in pain they should do this rather than wait for a paed appointment. It's very difficult to get babies above 7-9 months to take them as they taste minging so the earlier it can be introduced the better.

Sophia that sounds ace (they need fats right?) perfect for this weather. I'm roasting a gammon and making bubble and squeak for tea. I should be an honorary member at keep fat too Grin .

YellowWellies · 20/11/2013 13:46

I got size 1-2 (hoping to get two Xmas out of them) and they're big (he's probably 18.5 lb) but don't totally drown him - I'll just have to roll up the ankles. He's got my his Daddy's ample belly Smile .

ChasingDaisy · 20/11/2013 13:48

O has started doing something cute today. If I say 'row row' to him, he starts rocking back and forth doing the Row Your Boat actions Smile

YellowWellies · 20/11/2013 14:05

At playgroup yesterday I met the brightest baby I've ever seen. She's a pal's daughter is one day older than Jonas (so four and a bit weeks difference adjusted) so 13 months and her vocabulary is amazing. You say to her 'N where's your nose?' and she points and says 'nose' and can do this with head, eyes, mouth, teeth, hair, belly, boobies, toes, fingers, legs, arms. She can describe loads of things she sees around her - train, butterfly, flower, book, rainbow, moon, stars, dolly, buggy, cat, dog etc. Having watched her I'd put her vocab at well over 100 words. In context. And she can walk. Jonas was just sitting next to her with his tongue out, purposefully batting the shit out of a plastic toy. He's like a wee visigoth in comparison. He's maybe got 10 words in context and a couple that we are trying to figure out what the hell they are. I have to say he is a like ten times cuter. But I'm biased. Wink

fruitpastilles · 20/11/2013 14:08

Glad I'm not alone with the shitty nights, well no, actually I wish I was alone because at least then everyone else would be getting good nights. S has her jabs on the 27th, I hope she doesn't get any worse!

isles your P does have some very strange ideas! Hope the cinema was good. What did you see? How did you get M to sit through it?

Oh dear flouncy did you manage to get through to someone in the end? I don't know how you are coping, it's a good job dh is off. Is J in nursery for some of the time aswell?

Wow yw what an achievement. I bet your sis's mouth is watering at the thought of dairy goodness Smile

We braved it to playgroup this morning aswell. I got soaked through, it was horrible putting a sopping wet jacket on to come home. I stupidly put a jacket on instead of my coat, and I think my boots have a hole in because I had wet feet. I am now nice and cosy in the house with the heating on in my onesie I've just made a fish pie for dinner.

Friends wise, I'm quite lucky really, my 2 best friends are also on maternity leave, although one is back to work in 2 weeks and the other is back in feb.

ChasingDaisy · 20/11/2013 14:10

We have jabs the same day fruit. We can brave them together!

fruitpastilles · 20/11/2013 14:12

I'm dreading them chasing it wouldn't be so bad if it was just 1, but I think knowing that I will have to watch her little face 3 times is making me nervous Hmm
