This thread's topic is what size of nappies are your babies in? And how are the cloth bum babies doing?

Anyone want a crawling into everything non napping terrorist who made a face mask from fish pie and is the size of a 18month old?

Especially with actual haggis!

Love actual haggis. I am a quiche meet whore anyway but introduce akshul haggis into the mix and I'll be anybody's.

That is grim as a very grim thing PR. I do think that eating slime creatures is a right of passage though.

I remember as a child pouring salt on a slug because I had heard that you did that. I stood and cried as I watched it dissolve. I opted against pouring water on it as I thought it would extend the misery.

Four bottles done today. Lots of food actually ingested at tea time. Naps were fail but you can't have everything. Fingers crossed she snoozes nicely tonight.

We all moan about the bad stuff, when they piss us off, does anyone ever justfeel proud of their little person?

Sling meet today, R was the perfect baby. Sat and played while i signed people in. Got mauled around as a demo. Smiled at everyone, chattered and laughed. Fell asleep beautifully in the car there and back and in the sling on my back.

Every so often, it just comes together which makes up for the endless broken nights and random patches of grumpiness!

Hello quiche.

It is my birthday today (37!) and I took L to Willows Farm with my mum, sister and some of the children she looks after. No snails were eaten although one of the little girls was quite keen on the animal feed. L slept for about 2 hrs despite my mother's attempts to wake him! He seemed to enjoy the animals though.

I have had a rotten week with a tooth abscess and eye infection (on 2 lots of abs), still felt rubbish today but it was exciting to go and do a 'mummy' activity after so many years of not. So I have been both sweary and thankful this week, oh also I had quiche today so thought of you all.

PP yep I'm v proud of my bear - when not on a soy or dairy downer he's the jolliest soul. Today he didn't whinge at all and only cried once - when his 3 year old cousin scooshed him with a hosepipe of cold water whilst nomming his lunch all fresco (we were having a paddling pool party). Poor little dude. He was so happy in the paddling pool even when he face planted three times - not a tear. I also love watching his reaction when he sees someone he loves. My twin sister makes him wave and shriek delightedly and when he spots daddy he guffaws and bounces with glee.

Det Jonas drinks out of plastic cups at home - he only uses the Tommy tippee in the buggy these days. He looooves drinking out of normal cups and is getting pretty good at not waterboarding himself Grin .

Stunt om nom haggis nom

Yes! Good point PP. I get so proud of p I could burst! She is tenacious and I love watching her investigate every single thing around her at the moment. My current favourite thing is watching her crawl. She is amazingly fast and I love the way she diverts mid crawl obviously deciding there is something more interesting elsewhere.

What was I going to say. Eeehhhm.

Oh yeah!

P's face was brilliant when she spent time with 8 year old twins recently. They aren't identical but very, very alike. She kept looking quickly from one to the other with a hint of a smile on her face. Almost like she thought that this was an amazing trick!

Also, they decided that they would play the recorder for her. I was a bit Hmm but when one girl played a particular note p watched her with interest then sang the exact same note. Even the girls were impressed.

Hey Quiche friends, long time no see! Hope everyone is well, happy birthday jupitor! I've been keeping up on Facebook but I've had to put a slight ban on mumsnet, I get nothing done otherwise.

I have a question that I hope the quiche can help me with. We're going on holiday on Tuesday to France for two weeks, do I need to take two weeks worth of nappies or should I just buy them there? I've heard horror stories of nappies costing loads! There is a big Intermarche and a leader price supermarket near where we are staying. I'm hoping PR can help me with this.

Evening all, wonder if we can finish this Fred tonight! Well, today has been weird. He hasn't eaten or drank as much as usual, he only had 22.5oz all day :/ am now wobbling that he's not getting what he needs even though I know they're supposed to do this eating food malarkey. If he starts waking in the night I will go back to milk before solids, but I guess I have to give this a fair go before writing it off right? I should add that at tea time I put handles on his milk and was sat there with a bowl of purée and he chose purée, so he could've had more milk but didn't want it. It has been hot today, I guess, he's drank plenty of juice. Can I have a slap please? Anyway, he was cream crackered and went to bed at 6:45 :/ through choice. Weirdo. Better not wake later now!

pass hope it works out! I do the same and try to make sure e gets at least one home cooked meal a day but I get nervous when I give him new things still, especially home made new things as usually it means a difficult meal time. He has stopped clamping shut most of the time now but waves his head about and arms flail a lot and both of us often wear food! No idea how to combat this though lol

Glad you've had a good day madame but they'd do my swede in, that lot! Defo go with more alcohol ;)

I would go with a bottle det, have discovered e can work one, and can do the slurpy fruit pouches! He eats main meals out of bowls and with a spoon but I give him the fruit pouches and he sucks them up, it's so cute

Had to laugh pr!!! But hope she doesn't get poorly, am sure she won't :)

pikz will swap for similarly sized decent sleeping but food wearing milk reducing into everything immobile whingebag? Could do with a change of record :p

pp lovely post :) sometimes it just comes together wonderfully I agree :) sometimes I am so frustrated I cry, and other times I am so proud and astonished at the wonderment of my boy that I cry then too Blush I love watching him sleep, and I love his excited reaction when he sees someone he loves. I also love watching him master picking small things up and his 'huhuhuhuhuhuh' of excitement when he manages it or he's please with himself in another way.

Happy birthday jj!!!! Sorry you've had a shitty week but sounds like a really nice day overall :) I can't wait for e to be old enough to enjoy nice trips out etc

oh well, we know he can sleep in his own room for nearly 3 hours Grin

I'm starting to think all this non sleep stuff (four month sleep regression that's lasted 3 months) is every single tooth coming through together. except still no sodding sign of a tooth!!!!

Happy birthday jupiter and welcome back dicks. Can't help with nappy ishoos but am Envy at the thought of holidays.

PR that made me smile but also turned my stomach in quite a big way.

Det Shock at O. Just when you think you've got to grips with him, he pulls a stunt like that and bam! Back on your toes missy.

I was mega proud of F today. We went for an impromptu picnic at the seaside after collecting dsd from school. F has been full of smiles all day, and giggles seemingly at nothing, beaming at everyone from within the pushchair, and sleeping like a pro prob because she was up half the bleddy night. Makes my heart pop.

Love babies laughing at nothing. P does this "hehehehehaahaahaahaa" just staring into space sometimes. It's really loud!

Recently when MM were hanging out in marks and spencer like the hip young things that we are, I spent a wee while with both babies myself. While I was playing with them and they were both giggling I noticed an old man behind the prams watching. He then sidled up and said "best sound in the world that. I could stand here and listen to that all day". Looked a bit watery eyed and wandered off.

Made me realise just how lucky we all are and making two babies giggle at once is awesome fun

I feel fit to bursting with pride very often. Today I had two moments in a heartbeat of each other. Went to collect DS from his room at nursery. He saw me and belly slid along the whole room to get to me, wearing the biggest smile on his face. Then DD popped her head into his room (baby room opens into the garden where she was playing) and saw me and shouted "Mummy!", and then said, "there's my Mummy" in a wonderfully possessive way.

I bowled well, took a wicket, didn't get to bat but survived the day. When I get invited next year am just going to say I don't want to be in an all girls team and try and not let all the massively patronising / simpering behaviour get to me.

Happy birthday jj! Hola dicks.

Like bp I am very jealous of holiday talk. It all feels a bit relentless at the moment - feeding, cleaning up, cooking and repeat.

Whinge out the way - I am oh so proud of my boy today - he has finally worked out his comando crawl! Very exciting. I am also very pleased dd has only been feeding him grass given pr's latest tale of horror!

dicks yes, bring nappies. Unless you are going to be on the German border whereby you'd be able to nip over and buy them at UK prices. If you have to buy baby food Nestle Naturnes brand is the nicest. Well, the one that most resembles food anyway. Use evian or cristalline mineral waters to make up bottles (evian is much cheaper here, but cristalline is even cheaper - they are the two brands which are approved for baby bottles). Also, bring formula as Intermarche don't stock much other than Nestle.

Where are you going? The weather is wonderful btw.
