Nooo BOB, the 'outsides' of the CCs are the best!! Deferred gratification and all that!!
Me too with the frazzles, though find bacon wheat crunchies a reasonable substitute

GarfieldsGirl · 28/06/2006 20:00

eeeewwww! felt tip pens scraping, I hate that too bob!
Rodeo - pmsl at all your littl food fetishes!
I put skips on the end of my tongue and suck the flavour off, hmmm, haven't had a pack of those for ages.
I suck wotsits and quavers.
I also save the insides of bourbon biscuits and custard creams. And penguins.
I eat the chocolate off twix's, then the caramel, then the biscuit.
I always eat the crusts of my sandwches 1st, then save the insides 'til I've eaten all the other crusts.
If I have chocolate spread sandwiches, I have to squish them down so all the chocolate oozes out.

Does anyone remember 'vice versa' chocs? Like Minstrels, but white on inside/brown outside, and, well, vice versa.

Diege · 28/06/2006 20:09

Yes!! vice versas!! Never as good as they looked if I remember; rather thin coating. Also have to take issue with this 'saving' of fillings GG - how can you possibly mean 'save' - like you put the fillings on a plate??? You must surely be referring to the separation process??? And your crusts first thing is suggestive of a need to get rid of the undesirable before allowing yourself to fully enjoy the good...I could go on in my pysch-social deconstruction....
As you can tell, I am putting off the bloomin marking!!! Must get on!!!

Diege · 28/06/2006 20:10

Right, last thing. Does anyone remember go-ahead chocolinis??? Have be searching for these for years, so if they are lurking in the back of any spar shop, please buy and I will reimburse richly. Plain or milk acceptable, though plain preferred

GarfieldsGirl · 28/06/2006 20:15

Diege - yes you've got me!

Now get on with your marking!!!!

browniechick · 28/06/2006 22:29

Hi All! Feel mega post coming, as haven't been onf or a few days - be warned, it could be an epic!!!
Well.....Sat night me and dh went to a Badminton (DH plays, I just do the socials!)BBQ, my parents had T overnight. We had fab time and colelcted T next day. By Sunday night, I was feeling proper poorly, and spent most of the night up & down to the bathroom (sorry if TMI)ended up phoning my Mum on Monday (my usual day off work) to have T all day for me, as thought if it was a tummy bug, didn't want to pass on to T and hadn't eaten anything since Sunday night, and felt all weak and feeble! So she had T for me and I spent the day in bed - dozing on and off.
Tuesday, still hadn't eaten since Sunday, but was going back to work, feeling better than I had Monday. When I get a phone call from Mum, to say they couldn't have Thomas as her and Dad had spent all night being sick after some dodgy chicken. So ihad to phone in to work yesterday morning and take a day off at the last minute to look after T! Work were fine about it.
THis then threw Brownies into turmoil, as was planning on getting loads of "props" and "games" from work for an activity we were doing, so had to resort to plan B (which had to be made up!). Anyway, thankfully this all worked out ok and the girls loved it! phew!!
Mum and Dad were ok today, so all back to normal!
Istill feel a bit off colour, but am loads better than was.
Anyway, managed to get T weighed yesterday - and don't start me on the other nightmares of yesterday else we'll be here all night! (well, I will typing it and you lot will all get fed up and bugger off, having got bored part way down this massive epic!! )
Thomas now weighs 8.51kg or approx 18lb 11oz, and he is 69cm long. All doing very nicely.
And to whomever asked (can't remember, have been to sleep since!) yes, it is a bottom tooth that he is nurturing! it is part way through

OK - so thanks if you are still with me
Rodeo - I confess, I also love oxo cubes (or Bovril, not too fussy!) and still lick my fingers after crumbling them, and even go so far (sometimes) as to save a bit back to eat when cooking with them! !!!!
I also hate the feeling of wet wool....stop thinking about it....stop thinking about it .....aaagghhh!!!!!
I warned you this would be long! probably oculd have siad everything in about 2 lines! but am v tired and am now starting to ramble - sorry
Right, Hello to all I've not mentioned, will hopefully be back to normal posts from tomorrow and might attempt to make a bit of sense!!
Good night from me......

Brownie

browniechick · 28/06/2006 22:30

Ooh sorry that was really long
xx

Londoner · 29/06/2006 09:32

You guys.......... thought this was a postnatal thread........
Have to confess, I am just plain greedy and eat my food all in one go, no messing.

Brownie, glad to hear you're all over your sickness... hope that tooth makes a swift appearance, as if by magic, today.

, did you see that Henman match? Poor guy, looked like he wanted the ground to just swallow him up...

Rodeo, thanks for asking... about ds2 and dd1 and their relationship.... yes they are very close, and it's a real love/hate thing... if they're not punching and kicking and shouting at eachother they get on very well! When we're on a family day out they are always like in the photo, so amazing they're just great and make up loads of games and have their own language and jokes and can make eachother collapse with laughter with only one gesture etc..... They will quite happily chat and laugh on a three hour car journey with just eachother as entertainment, it's a great thing. But all 4 of them seem very close, holidays are the best times..... How about your bunch, yours look very cute together too, looks like they're close as well?

LilJ · 29/06/2006 10:31

HI all.

Well swimming lessons got cancelled today (leak in the pool!?!) so I've got a sort of day off. Planning on making lots of nice baby food and of course trying to get through the piles of laundry.

Nate is still a great baby - just had the messiest breakfast ever (toast with banana and butter and museli) so I've just thrown him in the bath and now he's very confused as baths never happen in the morning! He started to say Dada two days ago and now says it all the time, especially when I say Mama to him - typical stubborn male . He's thisclose to crawling and is totally teething, but still no teeth.

I'm still enjoying being at home with him, but have job interview tomorrow so may be working by the end of the summer. Have to admit that I am looking forward to having adult conversations again. I still haven't lost any of the pregnancy weight so don't know what I'm going to wear to interview - will have to go through entire wardrobe and see if anything appropriate fits.

Anyway got to try and get him down for his morning nap. JenJam & GO do you fancy meeting up next Friday for coffee/tea? I was thinking of having some Mums over for tea that afternoon if you fancy it?

J & N xx

Diege · 29/06/2006 11:18

Morning!! Good to hear from you Lilj; sounds like you're having lots of fun with Nate; leaking pool sounds a bit worrying! . Have you got interviews lined up for work?? How exciting!!
BROWNIE: good to hear from you, and to read all your news!! Poor you and family with sickness - so presume the BBQ was to blame?? Are you back at work now?
Oh and guess what?? Sure she won't mind me saying, but TEX is in this month's Practical Parenting!! Two page spread!!! You kept that one quiet!!. You look gorgeous by the way, and love the article!!
Well, Scarlett much better today, and back in nursery full of beans . Had a full 7 hours of sleep last night, so feeling invincible!!
Not heard from NOVA for a while, is she away??

browniechick · 29/06/2006 12:27

Hey All! Diege, glad to hear Scarlett is on the mend! and that you've had soo much sleep . Not sure if the BBQ was to blame, but who cares. feel loads better!, and yes back at work yesterday.
Chacha - well done on first work request!
Diege - how's the marking going, or should we not ask!!!
LilJ - ooh Good Luck with the interview tomorrow - and well done!!
Londoner - the tooth is well and truly on it's way now! still not fully through, but defo on the way

Brownie & Thomas

Diege · 29/06/2006 13:57

Afternoon!! HI BROWNIE!, marking is going VERY slowly, though I have now been 'cleared to mark' by senior examiner (ie. I seem to be marking them ok!!)so full speed ahead, theoretically at least... Brouught a bid wodge of them with me to mark today, but left on sofa (I hope so anyway, either that or at nursery )
Well, nose to the grindstone..

goldenoldie · 29/06/2006 15:25

Anyone know what has happened to Nova?

You lot, and your bikkis and crisps. I don't keep any in the house, stops me from getting tempted.

Londoner - have you got rid of the mice?

LilJ - would love to come to yours for coffee. Can I park outside yours? Or is it all residents only? Any meters?

Brownie - glad you are feeling better.
Re: weight, you were tiny last time I saw you - can't what weight you have to lose?

Good luck on the job interview.

LilJ · 29/06/2006 15:39

GO - we have residents parking, but I have plenty of visitor tags. Have emailed you details, address, etc. I don't have JenJam's email. Do you?

J xx

LilJ · 29/06/2006 15:41

Oh and I tried to try on the tailor made suits I had made in Hong Kong about three years ago and they are never going to fir again. My body has just simply changed shape. Oh well ...

Rodeo · 29/06/2006 15:59

Afternoon

Have had a clearing out sesh today, and have rearranged the furniture so the living room looks really big now! Not sure why, they're still the same amount of furniture in it...
Oooh and we've had a development milestone today - although not a very exciting one - Jess used the pincer grip (thumb & forefinger) to pick up a peice of her toast
Glad Scarlett is better Diege - Bella better too - thank goodness Oh imagine losing all those papers (not that you have!) thatd be something I'd do! Left my purse in the co-op yesterday - luckily someone had handed it in also lost 20 pounds on Sat night, it must have just fluttered out of my purse, oops. Just don't trust me with anything!
Tex in another magazine article?! Wow! Only just seen her old one - my sister gave me a load of her old mags, one was March's Eve and I'd totally forgotton she was in it! Dp looked at me v.strangly while I excitedly tried to explain who she was 'you know, Tex!....from my November ladies post natal group...on the computer'!
Brownie sorry you've been so unwell, I didn't really realise until the other day that you can catch food poisoning! My friend said 'of course you can, it's the bacteria that's the problem' Of course it is!
Heard from Nova, she's poorly too, having caught Nat's bug. Get well soon
Right, off cheer up a grizzly baby, she's caught the cold now and is all snotty and her wheeze has come back so we're using the inhaler again. But she's fine really, not overly worried
Bye!

Rodeo · 29/06/2006 16:01
