ChaCha - try SlimmingWorld. I just got the books - no time to go to meetings.

GG - bloodycheek - I would be tempted to set a trap - ie leave something in the shed that looks interesting/valuable but paint it with that indellible dye stuff they use in banks - IT DOES NOT WASH OFF.

browniechick · 23/06/2006 22:39

LoL Chach at dopey dora!!! - trying to cut down on the swearing! and also if I start thinking about him of questionable parentage too much, then I start to get mad again - it is not good! Hence the barsteward thing!!

Beks - yes it is me that lives in Stratford - home of the bizarre idea! I had no idea that it was even happening!! Till I got to work this morning and a colleague said, did you get woken up by that god awful din this morning then?! (I was thinking, blimey, how does he know what time Thomas was up - he lives the other side of Stratford to me!!! ) He then explained about the Hot Air balloon experiment - to which I said - nope, had no idea it was happening! He apparently did, as it hovered right over his house!!!!!! After the music, apparently it went on to start playing quotes from Shakespeares plays - how lovely - just what you what at 6:30 in the morning!!!!!

Thanks for the flylady link - might even sign up and attempt to de-clutter - although she might have her work cut out with me - I am of the squirrel variety, a fully signed up member of the hoarder family!!

Well, better buzz off, as DH wants the pc, and I want some sleep!

Brownie

tessasmum · 24/06/2006 10:06

Another one here who didn't know what a Flylady was so thanks for link. Do you think I can sign DH up? He definately needs to declutter before I finally go mad and do it for him

BEKS - no problem with pictures, shall I put them on a disc and send them?

Baby nearly asleep in my lap so better go, try and post later.

Rodeo · 24/06/2006 11:14

Just read this this morning!

By Coathanger on Saturday, 24 June, 2006 11:05:21 AM

Baby Joshua was born at 12.28pm yesterday. he weighed in at a very healthy 8lb 15.5oz and is absolutely beautiful. He has dark hair and is a definate boy!!

Mother and baby doing great, althugh Diddle is a bit sore understandably. I poke to Daddy Diddle yesterday and he says they are both extremely happy and Baby Diddle as worth long and eventually quite stressful wait.

CONGRATULATIONS DIDDLE!

novadandypowder · 24/06/2006 11:14

Brownie - be careful with Marmite, it's full of salt

Rodeo - thank you kindly, it's lovely

Noo noo is poorly sick, been living at the drs for last couple of days. Thankfully the drs are amazing and well worth the money. Managed to get to the hen doo last night as DH took over nursing duties, and should be able to go to Take That tonight.

Rodeo · 24/06/2006 11:43

Morning!
Just lost a post , never mind..... just a quick one then now.
Oh there's nothing like a birth announcement to make you feel broody again!
Beks, you cheeky lady, those orders are private! LOL! Well, seeing as my sex drive is recovering, went a bit overboard - got a 'bedroom' set (if you've got this week's Heat, Jade Goody's wearing it for her birthday bash - the shame!) some naughty shorts and a buzzy type item. Good job I've been sterilised!
Going out for a friends 30th birthday tonight so fake-tanned up last night (I look ill pale & interesting!) and I smell all biscuit-y so need a shower, so speak later! x x x

Rodeo · 24/06/2006 11:45

browniechick · 24/06/2006 12:47

Sorry to hear of poorly Nat - nothing serious I hope? Glad you made hen night - and hope you enjoy TT.

browniechick · 24/06/2006 12:48

Diege · 24/06/2006 13:40

Bloomin 'eck, am I the only one who doesn't have a 'buzzy item'??? lol

Diege · 24/06/2006 13:42

oh (rapidly changing subject...) think honey is OK is it's the runny sort - only the set has the to-be-avoided bacteria thingy

ChaCha · 24/06/2006 14:42

Hi girls,

LOL at wrong emoticons and cooking emails

Nova - Have a great time tonight and hope that noo noo will be back to her normal lovely self asap.

Buzzy things? Can just see it now with DS co-sleeping in our bed and grandad next door! It would be nice to have a relatively interesting marital relationship again...hmmm!

Diege - Good to see you back. Glad all went well.

Nothing much happening here, off to Sainsbury's and Argos. Oooooh!!!!

Oh and GO - I will try Slimming World then. First thing Monday morning.

GarfieldsGirl · 24/06/2006 17:09

Oooh got my new car! Its a Renault Scenic, so boring, sensible, family car, oh well, it does look quite good sitting outside the house!

Parents came round today and we found that my nephews fishing rods have also been stolen . So I've bought a little plastic shed, put all my stuff in there with a HUGE padlock.

nova - hope Noo Noo gets better quickly. Have a great time tonight, I know you will.

Diege - I thought I was the only person without a 'buzzy thing'! No worries re buggy board, glad to be of service! The chocs were looooovely by the way

Rodeo - haev a good girly night out tonight.

BEKsmum · 24/06/2006 20:16

Evening

Awwww great news about Diddle, sure she must be over the moon, will look forward to hearing her birth story.

Rodeo you're right it does make you broody - but I haven't got a buzzy thing or the energy for the real thing, so broody i'll have to stay
Enjoy your night out tonight.

OK so I'm not a Flylady then, just reading the first page made me feel panicky, it was the thought of being bombarded by e-mails telling me to do things that made we feel like hyperventilating

Chacha at you thinking about the excorcist! We haven't watched Revolver yet, I'll get onto dh about it but for some reason he seems to have got intot he football - he never normally watches it - men I'll never understand them.

Nova hope Nat is feeling better today and that it's nothing too serious. Glad you enjoyed the hen night and have a good time at the TT concert tonight, one of my friends husbands is going and boy have we given him some stick

Tessamum yes please, I'll send you my address via the y site.

Brownie lol at you thinking your colleague knew what time Thomas got up, the bit I heard on the telly sounded like whale music it was horrendous, I'd have probably found an airgun and shot them down if that had been over my house

Did my good deed for the year today and helped out at the school fete, it was all good fun and nothing to strenuous. Ben won me a lovely B'Day present - two tickets to see Magic of the Dance the Irish dancing show, now how clever is that! Dh is going to take me out for a nice meal before or after to make an evening of it, can't remember the last time we went out on our own.

Right kids are asleep so off to tackle some housework, hope you're all having a more exciting eveningthan I am Beks

Diege · 25/06/2006 09:37

Morning everyone . Hope all who were out and about last night had a good time . Went out myself for friend's birthday at 'ego' (a chain I think?) and had some yummy Italian food, my fave.
Really have to 'address' the washing today, after finding several items with mould spots on (casualties of washing line trauma in the rain!!)Have chucked some (DHs!!)but need to get it done!!!!!
Will be a footie widow later on, so will pop back later!

ChaCha · 25/06/2006 10:02

Morning ladies,

Hope everyone had a good night.

GG - Congrats on new car, lovely! Oh, and congrats on new shed. Hopefully that will now be the last of any thieving incidents!

Diege - LOL @ mould marks! I haven't seen an empty linen basket in a long time and that's with only one child - can't imagine how you get through it all with bigger families.

Beks - How lovely - Ben is a clever little man!

Managed to escape into own bedroom last night for some sleep. Made sure the boys (LO fast asleep) were engrossed in 'Munich' and off I went until 9am this morning Had the best undisturbed sleep in years....duvet, blackout blind, fluffy pillow and everything...it was bliss!! Needless to say, DH has now taken my place!

Have started getting a bit more adventurous with LO's food. I think we were way behind He has been having baby cereal followed by fruit or with a mixture of apple/pear etc. milk and have introduced rice cakes and biscuits for snacks and lumpier foods for lunch and dinner. He seems to be enjoying it and is sleeping earlier!!!! I can't believe this, we had a 6.30pm on a good day of 3 large meals, lots of play and little naps and a later 9pm last night, maybe because he had been stuck in car seat/shopping trolley most of day and hadn't used much energy.

Am I right in saying earlier sleeping time is due to lots of play and good meals? Or is this just coincedence?

Right, will stop babbling and get on with brekkie x

ChaCha · 25/06/2006 13:27

Avocado and papaya...a total no-no!!!!
Think the avocado wasn't fleshy enough - very hard to mash and ended up blending...yuk!

babyonboard · 25/06/2006 13:56

Chacha- those would be good mixed with a little soured cream or natural yogurt?

Feeling fraught..there has been yet another car accident on the junction next to our flat, we see them at least once a month (and who knows how many when we're not in/don't hear the sickening crunch).
Last time was a motorcyclist and he was lying on the bonnet of the car for ages, but fortunatly stood up and seemed fine.

This time it's two cars that look really wrecked, and passengers from one are fine, but crying/pacing around, and no one has yet come out of the other..I daren't look again..
Makes me glad me and d.p can't drive tbh.

Diege · 25/06/2006 13:59

Wow CHACHA, have to say you are very innovative with your recipes!! The extent of my 'experimentation' today has been baked potato mixed with jar of carrot/pea puree, slice of billy bear sausage (naughty I know!!), followed by mashed banana mixed with jar of blueberry purree and a mini-rusk . Not exactly Annabel Karmel, but hey she liked it and I did add my own stuff to jars to some extent .
She's having chicken casserole later (proper) which I'm feeling mighty proud of!!
Well got to get back to those exam papers . DH has taken dds 1 & 2 to MIL to give me a chance to get some done (thinking of the footie later and all!), but have strangely been lacking motivation!

Diege · 25/06/2006 14:00

BOB that's awful ; is it the road or the speed in the area that causes all the accidents?

novadandypowder · 25/06/2006 14:20

OH MY GOD!!!!!! TAKE THAT blew my mind, it was amazing, and I am totally in love with all of them

Noo noo still poorly, but at least her fever is down, back at the drs tomorrow morning. My turn for nurse duties as DH is in Stuttgart to watch the match.

Come on En-ger-land!!

babyonboard · 25/06/2006 14:45

I spent half of yesterday in the hospital..very depressing..but I'll fill you in on it all later, as I'm in a suprisingly optomistic mood right now!

Diege .. it's a blind junction on a really busy road. so it's a combination of speeding/impatience...so sad..I hope everyone is o.k.
Nova - take that! noo!I must have mised you mentioning it..
I am 10000x jealous, I loved them (first mark..howard for a bit..then robbie..lol)
...bet you had great fun! hope nat feels better
and indeed

Come on england!
I've got a stack of quesedillas in the fridge ready to fry up, and made my own guacamole and salsa for the first time..we'll see how that goes!
Plus stacks of lager..lets see who wins on the who gets drunk and messy, who has one or two and is a responsible parent arguement (no doubt d.p, and fair enough as he's been doing loooong hours this week)
DP has a few friends coming round, but thankfully some girls are coming too so we can escape if it gets to masculine..lol
