Put photos on Yahoo from Tuesday.

LOL Nova about the cereal, welcome to the wonderful world of parenthood Other initiation rites include: having a full 8oz thrown up all over you, being kept awake for 3 hours in the middle of the night as the baby decides its playtime and subtly attempting to remove your baby's poo/bogies from other people without them noticing

Any more offers?

Londoner · 23/06/2006 10:08

Hi everyone,

BEKs - could it be that the infection is gone in T's ear but they want to check the progress on the healing eardrum... I think you told me it had burst? Why not ring GP and get them to tell you when to return? Otherwise maybe make an appt for a week after your last visit? Strange advice you've been given re: yourself isn't it.... maybe go and see them again and say you're confused? I would be! Perhaps it's like a migraine-type thing? These syptoms can be caused by hormone imbalances I suppose.... you poor thing . Hope you get to the bottom of problem soon..
Tex, so sorry to hear of your loss, and poorly LOs....... thinking of you.x
Right, off to town to get ds1 a skateboard... mum at the disco time for me ..... his last one got jacked/drapsed/stolen...... expensive business these teenagers....

ChaCha · 23/06/2006 11:05

Good morning girls,

Nova - Had a look at your new pics and they are just lovely

Beks - I would get a second opinion/ask for another appt. I was thinking of you yesterday and had quite a giggle, does exorcist noises ring a bell? Why the voice came to me in the midst of changing a nappy I don't know but LO thought it funny to and providing good nappy time entertainment!

TM - Nice pic of the boys, thanks for that. DH had a look at all the meet up pics and thought they were great - said I looked rough and tired in one of me and the LO, charming! But then I've not been on holiday for a week
We were talking about the Jane system, LO is definitely getting too big for the position it's in now, he's not too small to be sitting in pushchair position is he? I think i'll try to assemble that now before going out.

Londoner - All go eh?

Time for late breakfast. x

goldenoldie · 23/06/2006 11:32

Londoner - yay - good to see you back. Looks like the old gang are back!

ChaCha - LO might get used to the cot if you persevere?

Diege - how is the marking going.

Beks - maybe GP means a couple of weeks? I would ring surgery and ask?

LilJ - I've not heard about your fab holiday yet?

tessasmum · 23/06/2006 11:51

ChaCha - definately not too little for pushchair, we'd have done it weeks ago if we had been more organised!

Nova - LOVELY photos, she's gorgeous. Really like the serious one too, think its good to have a true range of pictures, have a GREAT one of Tessa sulking

Off to do nit check again as just washed Tessa's hair. Getting a little paranoid I think!

babyonboard · 23/06/2006 11:54

Quick request..has anyone recieved a yahoo email from me sent yesterday? and could someone send a group one out so I can see if i recieve it? my yahoo groups account is screwed for some reason, and this freecycle business especially is driving me mad!

Back in a while to catch up..I'm having a flylady day

OP posts:
babyonboard · 23/06/2006 13:37

Londoner/G.O gald to see you both back!

Chacha- have you considered a bedside cot? you can get them so you can raise the cot to the same level as your bed, and you could maybe sneakily put on the side when you get out of bed?

We kind of co sleep with O, he goes down around 8 and wakes up at 6.15 on the dot (crazy!) , has half a bottle and then dozes in bed with us until d.ps alarm.

I'm loving my cleaning spree..cleansing for the mind too! I've been just 'doing around the edges' since O was born so it's been fab to pull everything out and really clean, i've even shampooed the carpets!
Has anyone heard lily allen? She is great..i've had her single 'smile' on a few times this morning.

will read a bit more and post more in a while..

Londoner · 23/06/2006 15:31

Thanks BoB - lol at you and your fly lady day, have you got a pinny? How about a duster? All this talk of compulsive cleaning makes me wonder about your mention of a scan appt.... Oh, and my messages from Yahoo aren't getting through at the moment either, hmmmm..wonder what's up with it?
ChaCha, sorry, only just saw your post to me from yesterday.... Elizabeth is doing great, have some very sweet pics of her and Zayn together at the park, now I've just got to try and work out how to get them onto the Mac.... did you say you knew of a way? Having LO's to tea was lovely, one friend each for DS2 and DD1, and everyone played with the baby . BoB's idea of bedside cot is brilliant I think, what d'you reckon? Could be the answer you're looking for?
Tessa, have you tried this new stuff for headlice they're advertising on MN? Certainly looks worth a go.....

AAAAh, school ruuuuuuunnnnnnnn

babyonboard · 23/06/2006 15:39

Londoner..I'm loving how you have come back with a vengeance offering great , and knowledgeable advice all round..
Yes I do indeed have an apron..i made it myself, so it's a fab art deco print, and rather stylish! lol
part of my new flylady routine is to do my hair, make up,and wear nice clothes everyday, may seem silly, but it puts me in a good mood, which is the best start to a day! It was routine before motherhood, so I want to get back to that!

Rodeo · 23/06/2006 16:22

Afternoon!

Seems like I've not been on for ages! Loads to catch up on - I'm sure I'll miss someone out!
Londoner Welcome back love! Seen your pics, don't your lot look alike! They all look v. happy in each others company, esp ds2 & dd1 Are they always like this?!
Chacha, is dh back now? Did you hand him the baby as soon as he walked through the door? Love all the meet up pics ladies! Wish I could have been there too, maybe next time
Nova, LOL at the cereal incident And stop with gorgeous photos! You making me feel very inadequate - note to self, MUST get camera out more often!! Keep meaning to ask, have you started your voluntary work yet? Oh and NooNoo is the hoover from the tellytubbies! Sucks up all the spilt custard, what are you saying about your daughter?! Although Jess is like a black hole at the moment, may nick the nickname off you
Bob, have a lovely image of you dementedly cleaning to Lily Allen (Keith Allen's daughter isn't she?) Oh and don't ask me about Yahoo account - I haven't a clue!
Beks poor you! I'd take the paracetamol, and at plenty of live yog just in case it is a stomach ulcer, dp used to get them when he was little and his brother gets them too, horrid, they're can be stress related, so try and rest up - really easy with a baby and a pre-schooler! Although saying that I went to bed at 10 last night and it was marvellous!! Must do it more often!
Speak later

ChaCha · 23/06/2006 16:27

Hi BoB - Sounds like you're having a lovely day. You are the perfect flylady, have you got your control journal and your GIFT time sorted? He hee.. I also wear a pinny with a big pocket so that I can dash all the empties in it and everything else that needs to be transported from upstairs to down. Also home to my mobile phone as I never hear it when I'm busy. I'd love to see the pinny that you made yourself...sounds super.

Londoner - I will ask DH exactly what software you need as the one I suggested is only shareware and will only upload a certain amount of files before they ask for upgrade. Will get onto that this evening.

ChaCha · 23/06/2006 16:31

X-posts Roders,

LOL @ handing baby to DH! On the contrary, grabbed him off me and off they went for cuddles and play for ages He was convinced that the LO didn't recognise him and had to make up for lost time. Was lovely to see but felt a tad

Off to make the chilli.

Rodeo · 23/06/2006 16:33

Bob, have you heard Lily Allen's LDN? That's really good

Rodeo · 23/06/2006 16:35

Chacha - PMSL Rodders! That's good - I can feel a name change coming on

babyonboard · 23/06/2006 16:47

Chacha- oh yes. an apron with a big deep pocket is essential for housewifery! lol.
I will make one for you if you like?

Rodeo..yes! it's a great song, and the rest of her album is great too!

GarfieldsGirl · 23/06/2006 17:30

ChaCha - bob's idea of a bedside cot sounds good, but if this isn't poss for you, I've never had a problem with lots of pillows. By the time LO is awake enough to start climbing and throwing himself off the bed, you'll be aware of him being awake, so he should be ok.

nova - lol at cereals! love the nickname Noo Noo!

Londoner - no you're not speaking out of turn Al-anon have been recommended to me by a few others, but thank you. I can kind of relate to LO's eating everybody elses food. Sean wolfs down his own dinner, then sits there demanding a piece from all the other plates!

BEKs - I would ring and ask what 'a while' is, and I think I'd go back about yourself, does seem a bit confusing.

bob- cleaning spree here too. front room & kitchen are spotless, just can't get into back room now .

Beware - rant coming on - surprise surprise, that's all I seem to do! But this has got me really angry. Occasionally I've found that things haven't been in the shed that should ahve been, but i put it down to DP being in hospital hen we moved and me forgetting to take things with us. But now we've found out that one of our stairgates isn't there, and we both knew exactly where that was. I just don't understand why someone would steal a stairgate, but thats definately whats happened, and so I'm wondereign about all the other things. We live in a decent area too. (and confused).

Hiya t everyone else

GarfieldsGirl · 23/06/2006 17:31

Oh and meant to say before - GO, well done on finding such a great sounding 'Mary Poppins' nanny.

GarfieldsGirl · 23/06/2006 17:35

Me again! Another one for nova/TMs list - gone are the days of going to the toilet by yourself!

BEKsmum · 23/06/2006 19:59

Whats a flylady then?

Rodeo · 23/06/2006 20:12

Hi, just to let you know, Diddle's having an elective section today - she went in to be induced on Tues and nothing happened much but sh's had no sleep for 2 days and doesn't want to be in labour exhausted, so she should have her baby by now
HK is also in hospital, the docs are worried she might go in to prem-labour so are keeping an eye on her, the baby has been given steroids but is hopefully still inside cooking as she's not due til Sept, so everyone keep everything crossed for her

browniechick · 23/06/2006 20:19

Glad I'm not the only one that doesn't know what a flylady is! - Thanks Beks - was thinking I was on me own on that one!!

Hope all ok?

Mum is doing a bit better - but Wednesday's meeting has really knocked her for 6 Barsteward, Barsteward, Barsteward there - feel a bit better now!!!!!

Thomas is doing so well at nursery , he has now moved on to slighlty more solid foods, he is having little bits of sarnies, and today had bits of cheese & tomato pizza!
For tea, I gave him marmite on bread - he loved it my little man, hasn't turned anything down yet! Wasn't sure I should give him marmite - but spread it really thin and he seemed to like it.....

Brownie

BEKsmum · 23/06/2006 20:38

Brownie it is you that is in Stratford isn't it? Did you hear the music from the hotair balloons this morning? If they had done that over my house I'd have been really hacked off as I'm not pleasant in the morning at the best of times, let alone whale music being played at the crack of dawn

Hope HK is ok, she must be really worried. Will keep everything crossed for her.

Awww how lovely that Diddle should have her baby by now - wonder what she had i reckon it's a girl!

Rodeo you didn't tell us much about the Anne Summers party - come on what did you buy? We all know you're part of the shopaholics anon ladies of the group, so we won't believe you if you tell us nothing
Thanks for the yoghurt suggestion, I'll try that although I thought that cured problems rather lower down the body

Nova the pics of Nat are lovely, she is really gorgeous.

Tessasmum can i be cheeky and ask you to send me those photo's they are really cool and will look great in Thomas's album, it will also prove he does have some friends of his own

Londoner, how cute is that picture of Ollie and Elizabeth, what a doting big brother.

Right I'm off, have a great weekend all Beks

ChaCha · 23/06/2006 20:40

Evening all,

Tut-Tut! Honestly! flylady

GG - That's awful! Sorry if this is a silly question but is there a lock on the shed and is your garden easily accessible from outside? Terrible.

Brownie - Barsteward - dopey dora had to work that one out!

Nothing on tonight is there? Hmmm...Beks - How do you find the Revolver?

GarfieldsGirl · 23/06/2006 21:03

ChaCha - No we don't have a lock , i know thats silly, but... we bought the house from my parents who had lived there for 4yrs, they never locked the shed and never had anything stolen from it, so it never occurred to me to put a lock on it. The garden is completely surrounded by other gardens, no alley or anything. We've had loads of probs with one next door neighbour. They did steal our washing line, but they have no need for a stairgate. I'm comlpetely flummoxed by it. And I'm being quite paranoid about locking doors too. The only way out now if there's a fire is through a window, eek.

ChaCha · 23/06/2006 21:18

GG - How sad that someone would want to take your stairgate! Makes me very cross
Best thing to do I guess is to get yourself a good lock and keep your lower window/doors locked too. My MIL lives in a very quiet part of S.Wales, everybody knows everybody and crime is at a minimal low (they still keep backdoors unlocked and neighbours walk in and out all day) however, last summer one of the houses on her street was burgled and everyone was horrified but fortunately has been a wake up call for all to start being more vigilant.
Don't mean to scare you but I think it's better to be safe than sorry. Think of it is a sign.

GO - if you're around what diet were you on. I'm getting nowhere and have gone back to my quick fixes and too much diet coke. I need something that will work.
