Evening!
Just got back from a sunbed/visiting friend joint jaunt :)
Wrinkly tum, awww, thanks for the info - we have a few nurses on here, not me though!
And you have a Ross - my dd1, Bella would probably have been a Ross (if I'd have had opposite sex babies I would have had a Ross, Daisy/Sadie and Henry!), what would everyone else have?!
Bags and microwaves? Eh?! I don't know what you're all on about!
Diege, LOL at Scarlett on the bus!! Tarot lady said......(are you ready?)......I am to have a good career (not sure in what yet) dp wil be successful in his self-employment, no need to worry about 'the child I worry about the most' (JOE!!!) he will come in to his own, intelligent child, blah blah, my sensitive artistic child (BELLA!) will be drawn to the stage (oh no! I hate am-dram kids) and have a career in information/media, and the bubbly attention seeking child (the baby?) will travel alot, also I have a one off opportunity coming up, a foreign holiday, a big purchase, etc.! Ooh your getting me excited TTC no4! Awwww, how about just waiting til Libs is pre-school age (2 and a half/3ish) you could start TTC next summer - that's not too long away?
Nova, great news about your job, I bet you'll love it,I've just taken on the post of Treasurer for our PTA (gulp) what the hell did I do that for?!
Right better get to bed, meeting L&Smum tomorrow for a wander round town & coffee - Cafe Nero I hope! Night x x x

Rodeo · 14/06/2006 23:10

Hi Tex :)
Really sorry to hear about your grandmother :( Hope everything goes smoothly. Hope you all have a lovely time at Disney. What do you think to baby Shiloh BTW? Thought she was a bit funny looking myself but think I'm probably just jealous!
Love Madonna's new single - the new vid's on Channel 4 now......:)

Morning!! Sounds like a pretty good 'reading' RODEO, wonder if there's a big shopping sess' coming up?? Have a nice meet-up with L&SMUM Smile Re: sex-swap names, we hade 'Louie' as our 'boy' name three times Grin, but DH also liked Benjamin, and I loved Oliver (though put off if shortened to Olly because of our surname (wood, ie. Ollywood!)I would have been Simon btw Grin, sooo 1970s Grin.
Will have to peer closer at Brangelina babe - she has the lips I think!! Apparently our Ange is ready to adopt another! She wants 13 but doesn't want them 'naturally'. Phew!!!!
TEX: sad news about your granmother Sad; sounds like your mum has a lot of family support, and that you are a very close family Smile. Have a great time in Disney!!
Speak later,
Diege Smile.
ps: gosh ttc next summer seems scarily close!!

babyonboard · 15/06/2006 16:48

Quick check in before I plough through all the posts! I must get into the habit of reading this thread daily..we are a busy lot!

OP posts:
babyonboard · 15/06/2006 17:26

tex- oh no, thats really sad news , I hope you at least enjoy your trip away, and hope it's a good distraction from the sadness, especially for tobes.

tessasmum- that is awful about her sunburn, surely they would know to be careful!

wrinklytum - snap with babies birthdays! lol..what time was she born? I'm from yorkshire too!

nova- voluntary work sounds fab, i'm looking for a job still, but know I'll be reluctant when I get one, maybe I should step up my sewing and make a mini-mini business out of it, just to be occupied!.
Glad you sorted it out with nats weight (love how you call her naddy btw, so sweet!), if she's very tall, but heavy surely you knew that was normal anyway!

rodeo - lol at tampax story, ah well!
..I remember when my periods started and my little brother told my gran 'she was bleeding because I saw it on her bed but my mum was really pleased, and they said she's going to do it every month, how do they know!?' lol
beks/chacha, possibly nova/enthusia!? - no idea where io meet, st james park seems ideal if its god weather, but I looked at their cafe (as a contingency for rain) and they charge £7.99 for boiled egg and soilders so probably not ideal!

ooh crying baby, probably wants to watch the football..lol..
back soon..

babyonboard · 15/06/2006 17:35

only good place I can think of is embankment gardens..small but lovely with great but cheap coffee and tea and lots of sandwich/ lunch options and nice flowers!

it's right next to embankment tube

or, of course hyde park, but it's a bit too spread out for my liking (i.e hard to meet somehwere recognisable)

OP posts:
GarfieldsGirl · 15/06/2006 17:51

Tex - Sad sorry to hear about your grandmother, hopefully Disney, and Tobes' face lighting up will be a distraction for you.

Diege - BuggyBoard is on its way to you. Have fun unwrapping it, I made the box myself, hence the irregular shape and lots of tape. Call it a tenner for it all, that will be great.

wrinkly - I'm still bf too, KWYM about an unbroken nights sleep. I've also forgotten everything from 1st time round, I seem to faff about so much more. Only 2 days between your 2s birthdays! I thought mine were all close, with all 3 in the space of 5wks.

Rodeo/L&Smum - how was your day?

Rodeo - bags/microwaves - Birds Eye (I think) are doing 'Steam Fresh' veggies, basically boiln the bag, but microwave in the bag, sooo easy.

My girls names would have been Jaime Louise, or Jaime Marie. Did everyone have their names chosen by the time baby arrived? Sean only had a middle name 'til he was about 6 hours.

Sean's been having fun today trying to scratch DPs dragon off his arm!

babyonboard · 15/06/2006 17:56

g.g - we definite names for a girl, even though we knew he was a boy! lol
girl would have been Sofia Louise
We were very unsure about boys names and argued over it for a while,
Hence O had a different name for the first week and a half of his life, up until the night before we went to the registry office..good job I'd not gotten round to the birth announcement cards..lol , though many of his congratulations cards from when he was born are in another name which is funny..

OP posts:
GarfieldsGirl · 15/06/2006 18:05

bob - lol at cards with a different name. I had someone ring about baby Mi's hearing test, she felt a bit silly when I explained it meant male infant. All our cards tho are for baby Shaun, aaaarrrrrrrggggggghhhhh, It really annoys me, but I expect you get lots of 'Oscars' don't you?

babyonboard · 15/06/2006 18:13

lol..dp said the same about O's hopital bands..'his initials aren't m.i why have they put that'!? hehehee

We only have one 'oscar' card surprisingly but I think thats because my mum, m.il and dp said every time they called anyone..it's oskar..oskar with a K..heheee

That was a contentious issue actually, as ds's surname is hard enough to spell ( his dad even got a credit card with it spelt wrong!) so the poor boy will be correcting people on both names all his life..hehe

OP posts:
GarfieldsGirl · 15/06/2006 18:20

I know how they feel re surname. Mines with 2 T's, but always gets spelt with 1, DP's and boys is with 1 T, but always gets spelt with 2. So I've spent all my life saying '2 T's', but when we get married, I'll be saying '1 T'. Aaagghh!

Rodeo · 15/06/2006 18:52

Afternoon :)

Had a nice morning with L&Smum, although I came down with a migraine! AND had to go and be sick in some public toilets Blush How embarrassing! Helped her choose a lovely bikini though - so wasn't totally useless!
Children are watching the match but keep asking 'Who's winning now?'!! Argh! It's still nil-nil! Look it says so in the corner of the screen!!
Bob, ooh how intriguing about Oskars name! Are you going to let us in on what his name was for 10 days??!! Wish I was coming to London, would have been lovely to meet you all again, maybe next time eh Diege?!
Diege - LOL yes next Summer is quite close! I would have been a Christopher (very 70's again!) or a Thomas :)
Wrinkly - I've just finished bfeeding Jess but was exactly the same with beakers or bottles - but then I did a mothercare trail with 'Breastflow' bottles by First Years and they were brilliant. She took to them straightaway and I was gobsmacked!! Think you can only get them from America but you might get lucky on ebay??
Wow - it 2-0! When did that happen?!
Right bedtime for children - Yay!! Oh dear, did I say that out loud? Grin x x x

Rodeo · 15/06/2006 18:54

The sickness was due to migraine BTW! Not hangover or binge eating!

babyonboard · 15/06/2006 18:59

or something else!? hmm hmm ...lol

OP posts:
babyonboard · 15/06/2006 19:01

I was delighted by the match (surprised myself..lol)

I got oz to chant 'engerland' .no really...

OP posts:
Rodeo · 15/06/2006 19:11

No! Definitely not 'something else' LOL! Come on Bob, what was his 'other' name? I woke up one morning about 2 weeks after Jess was born and was convinced that I was going to change her name to Mary! I also wonder if I should have called her Phoebe or Imogen or Mathilda (her middle name), her name never really 'stuck' IYKWIM?? Oh well, too late now! Grin

BEKsmum · 15/06/2006 19:16

Evening girls

Tex so sorry to hear about your gran, hope the Disney break is a distraction for you and that watching Toby's little face light up cheers your heart.

How far is Kensington Palace Gardens from Victoria coach station? I just thought that Ben & Tessa might enjoy the Peter Pan gardens, although it would mean that T'smum and I wouldn't sit down all day Grin there is a cafe etc there, probably costs an arm and a leg but there is a Wagamamas etc around the corner if the weather is horrid - not that I've been there just looked up restaurants around the park.

As for baby's names, Ben was going to be Rhiannon Lucy but I'd gone off of that by the time we got round to Thomas and we didn't have a girls name for him Smile The middle name would still have been Lucy as my dad always calls me Lucy Locket so a girl would have been called the same I'm sure!
I too changed Thomas's name a bit overnight as he was originally Thomas Ethan and I changed it to Thomas Samuel, the only thing was I had Tom at 11pm and then the next morning my dh had to go to Wales for his grans funeral and told everyone the baby's name only to find out later that I'd changed it to Samuel which was his preference!!! He didn't like Ethan but I said as I had done all the hard work I'd call him what I liked but relented overnightSmile

I have to explain that all my names have an E and everyone looks at me like I'm mad Grin Whe I was younger I always thought I'd end up swapping aperfectly normal surname for something bizarre or funny l but I was lucky and got a normal surname, just a strange dh Grin

Chacha you've obviously stopped dancing Grin Sorry I did lol at you gettting wet - wicked aren't I Wink

By the way 12 o'clock is fine with me and if we have to go further afield do you want to share a cab as I hate the underground as I said before. I'm more than happy to pay for it.

Wrinkly sounds like you will have quite a bit in common with Karma and she's up your way too.

Nova enjoy the voluntary work.

Right best go and sort out the munchkins and rescue dh, speak to you all later Hello to everyone I haven't managed to mention. Beks

BEKsmum · 15/06/2006 19:20

Forgot to say my dad wanted to call me Deborah/ Debbie Leigh, but apparently looked in the cot and said "no chance, she's too much of a bruiser" and I became what I am today Grin Charming eh?

GarfieldsGirl · 15/06/2006 19:30

BEKs - lol at strange DH, and your dad calling you a bruiser.

Rodeo - feeling better now? i probably shouldn't admit this, but I couldn't gt used to Sean for a bit and kept calling him Shane (sooo 90's) and did forget his name a couple of times when people asked. I felt so horrid and such a bad mummy.

babyonboard · 15/06/2006 19:39

sorry can't post much, but kensington gardens is free..and lovely!

it's a couple of stops from victoria and 20/25 min walk , but theres probably a faster way!

OP posts:
Diege · 15/06/2006 19:54

Thanks GG!! Will put a cheque in the post tommorrow Smile. Can't wait for it to arrive after the palava we had this afternoon getting up the hill!! 'Working from home' tommorrow though, so a chance to finally get the holiday bags unpacked!!
Speak later!
Diege x

Rodeo · 15/06/2006 19:57

Ooh did any of you read the mumsnet newsletter? Just to start you all off scratching again here is a bit on our 'little friends' -
'Invincible lice - Eighty per cent of head lice are now resistant to the insecticides comonly used to eradicate them, according to public health doctors in Wales. In a release organised to coincide with National Bug Busting Day today, scientists from the National Public Health Service for Wales Communicable Disease Surveillance Centre found that four out of five lice were resistant to the chemicals found in well-known brands such as Lyclear and Full Marks. Eight per cent of Welsh children tested had lice, and researchers said this was probably typical of Britain. Scientists at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine recently found that a ‘bug-busting kit’, containing specially-designed combs to use with hair conditioner, was more effective than chemical treatments. Alternatively, new solutions include the organophosphate malathion, found in the brand Prioderm, or a new product, dimeticone lotion, which has recently been licensed. (Times 14.06.06)'
Hi Beks, After nits (of course) babynames is my favourite topic of conversation - so thanks for humouring me! :)
GG, yes I'm just about better now, thank you! Just a little bit yukky, but I always feel a bit yukky post-spew! Didn't think ever I'd admit to Jess's name not feeling 'right', so glad it's not just me! Feeling a lot better about it now though - and Jess was a Jessica for the first 2 days aswell, so all my cards say 'congratulations on the birth of Jessica'! which doesn't help matters! Of course I could technically change it - you have up until they're 1 don't you? But could you imagine the hassle?! Grin
Oh! And Nova's got some new black and white pic's up on the Yahoo site of Natalie. And they're lovely! Love the En-ger-land one, she looks so pretty :)
Oop's, this was only supposed to be a quick follow up post - dp's working late tonight!

Diege · 15/06/2006 19:58

Oh and I was 'Deborah' for 6 days Grin

Diege · 15/06/2006 20:01

Hope your migraine has gone RODEO!! I'm a fellow sufferer and puke with them too!!! Sorry, tmi over your teas!!!
