I feel a little bit bad about starting this thread just now as there have been heartbreaking stories on mumsnet over the past couple of days. Ladies our thoughts are with you.

This antenatal club is particularly special, as after a long difficult nine months for all of us we are now the lucky ones who get to hold our beautiful little babies. There are lots of challenges ahead for us, of course. but hopefully we can all continue to offer support , advice and friendship during the more happy times

purple, so sorry to read about cerys. She sounds like a spirited wee soul though and I hope she is recovering well for her recent op.

My friends DS had the same thing with his bottom. He is now a happy healthy and otherwise unscathed 7 year old.

Found you!

Wanted to say hello and to also give thanks that after my loss in February I finally have a beautiful son.
Happy New Year to all of you and your LOs.

time4tea · 03/01/2008 09:57

hello all, happy new year from me and mine too. thinking of you all over Christmas, esp as I heard from a friend from NCT class (when pg w Lorcan) who had two miscarriages after her first boy, hadn't heard from her for a while, then got a Christmas card saying her DS2 was born just before christmas! I blubbed and blubbed - just thinking how tough it must have been to her, then picked up the phone and we had a lovely chat. it made me remember our hard days waiting for these little ones... i know our days can be hard still now, but with so much extra love around, it is more bearable. thinking of you Daisy, and hoping Cerys & Joel go from strength to strength. big wave to everyone else

Torin is doing well - now 10 months, able to play with Lorcan a bit and certainly kick and shout with excitement when he sees him. i have a few weeks more of mat leave - glad I took a year as sleeping has been a nightmare and it is only these last few weeks that I've been anywhere near rational, I would have been useless at work entirely.

anyway, big wave to all of you, and many thoughts and much love

Woooozle100 · 03/01/2008 23:27

hello everyone. Sorry for being so cack at keeping up with this thread. Between joel and esme, i rarely even turn my pc on!

joel is absolutely fine-big worry over nothing i think. He's very smily and 'chatty', is holding his head up and is very sturdy overall. Growing well and putting on weight good despite a crap start to bfing and static weight for first 5 weeks. Is now 11lbs + - am mixed feeding now (is having about 2 bottles a day - mostly formula but whatever i can squeeze out as well I am so grateful he is fine and healthy. I now see the whole cmv scare as something that's proven even more how precious he is and how lucky i am - it could've been different but it wasn't so i'm not going to waste any more energy worrying over it.

my dd has been poorly recently but on the mend now. Its so staggering how she bounces back from so much

plp - Hope cerys is well after op. She sounds like she's doing well.

glimmer - hello - how's stuff? Intrigued over what was on yr removed post

time4tea - 10 months? Wow! I remember you popping back on the pg mc thread when I was a newbie on it so that figures! Glad to read Torin is doing well - nevermind the sleeping stuff. That mare seems to come and go. Well thats how i've found it with dd.

bouncingturtle - congratulated you v belatedly on pg thread but big congrats again

daisy - hello. How's feeding going now? Have seen you on various bfing mare threads so know there has been a few probs. Am glad you are feeling better pnd wise - may you continue to feel even more so and come out the other side soon. Really is a hell hole. Sorry to hear about yr mom

Big wave to firststar. Hope weaning is getting better. Am quite looking forward to that actually, well in as much as I still have pangs where I don't want my little man to grow up any more and I want to stay like this forever

And hullo to mumpbump and ejt.. mumpbump how are you coping with 2 little uns? Though my dd is older cos of her probs / delays it is like having 2 under 1. I was all over the place at first not knowing what bum to change or who to feed but its getting easier. DH is about in afternoons a lot though - and my mom helps with house from time to time.

Petunia - Emily is a poppet

Happy new year to all xxx

Glimmer · 04/01/2008 13:12

Hi all and a Happy new year to everybody!

EJB -- I had written a longish Christmas email with best wishes to everybody and then signed it with my 'real' name! I'd be very happy to share my identity with anybody on this thread but didn't want it out there for anybody to look at...

I am doing well and enjoy motherhood. Am BFing fully. Am not getting anything else done, but I guess that's normal? Would love it if the weather would be better, so that once could go outside and sit in the park...

Mumpump -- wanted to send you some pics to your hotmail account but then realised that I do not have your full email addr up to received CAT emails. ess. Tried CATting you, but you are not set up to be contacted.

PLP thought of you and Cerys over the holidays hope all is well.

Uki - how are you? Is your pre-eclampsia fully cured? My BP is finally coming down and will have six week check soon, where I will leran about liver and kidney values.

Firststar -- can't believe your are introducing solid foods already! I can't imagine returning to work ever at the moment (but will have to). Would you mind sharing your experience about it? Are you using aycare or a childminder?

Bouncingturtle -- I read your birth story! Many, many congratulations to you and the birth of your son! Enjoy this precious time!

hello to everybody else!

Woooozle100 · 07/01/2008 22:23

glad its going well glimmer - oh I think its completely normal to be doing nowt other than feeding Oooh I tried to order this really snazzy fleece designed for bfing with cold winter days in mind - but after a week of waiting for the delivery I checked my emails to find my order couldn't be processed cos my issue no is 0 and they cannot accept that. Ah well.. can't imagine even having a nip slightly exposed to these harsh winds! My world as too shrunk to my house. I like it though - and it'll all pass soon enough

Uki · 08/01/2008 10:49

Hello All

HAPPY 2008 to all the gorgeous mums and bubs, and one's to come over here.

i have to apologise for forgetting about this thread too, I don't seem to get much time with two beautiful babes, hear hear glimmer i'm always bf too. BUT confession, I'm all over the place and sometimes still lurking on conception. i blame mn for making all things baby my addiction

LL is almost 5 months i can't believe it. he is a great baby, very calm doesn't cry except when really over tired, rather than cry when hungry he goes looking for his own food, today trying to pulling newspaper out from under him and trying to suck on that, or blanket, strap or whatever else he can get his mouth on.

Glimmer- i was very lucky with pre-eclampsia this time, as it didn't get a chance to manifest much, bp went straight down, i've felt much better this time than last, although my baby fat has been a bit more stubborn . how are you? Don't worry you'll find some more time soon, it's all a bit tiring for a while.

firstar- solids, i'm going there soon, all that mess....arrrrg, help

Time4tea- that must be special to have a friend in rl who has been on your journey and now has 2 wee boys too? none of my friends have had any m/c's and they all have the pigeon pair, they are very lucky, but i hug my 2 boys that much tighter

Hi to everyone else, i'll catch up more later.
re.i sometimes s ooI'm still lurking over conception some timese

waves to jossie How's it going? Please tell us more about Ben

Uki - hello - lurking on conception? Eeek! I play through the scenario of conceiving now (be pretty biblical if I did, mind )and I think that would be the end of ever getting out of the house! Though feel a bit disorientated with this no proper period marlarky though - bit strange to be so out of touch with my cycle (this time last year I was pretty obsessive)

Hello Jules. Can't wait to have you hear swapping stories of sick and stuff

hello hello and big sweepy hand movements to everyone else (yep been watching something special!)

LardyMardyDaisy · 15/01/2008 12:08

hey guys. welcome to all the new babies since I was last on.

I've not been around much as have been in Scotland a lot and have had no computer access.

We are all OK. Emily is doing fab. She started crawling on Christmas Day and is now into absolutely evverything. Her fave toys at the moment are anything that belongs to her brother and a silly annoying V-tec thing that we were given by a neighbour...soooo annoying.

I'm about to disappear again for a few weeks; my mum sadly passed away on Friday , but she was so ill at the end that it is a relief really. It's not really sunk in yet; we're off to Scotland tomorrow for the funeral on Friday so it will no doubt be more real then. She was such a brave lady, never once complaining about the pain, and soldiering bravely on for those last few weeks. We were with her every day over Christmas and New Year as well, and had some lovely moments with her. she will be sorely missed

Daisy - I am so sorry about your Mum hon, my thoughts are with you xx

Bouncingturtle · 15/01/2008 19:25

Lost you and found you again!

Daisy - sorry for your loss

Daniel is doing well, gaining weight rapidly, at 19 days old he is already 1lb2oz above his birth weight, the bfing has been tough but it has been worth it!

Hope to see MrsMc here very soon

LardyMardyDaisy · 16/01/2008 00:18

thanks guys. I have so missed MN these last few weeks.

MrsMcJr, I was asking about you on the pg after mc thread....have you sprogged yet??

MrsMcJnr · 16/01/2008 15:17

not yet Daisy, 40+1 today!

Bouncingturtle · 24/01/2008 22:15

MrsMcJr has had her lo - a boy Xavier! Absolutely fantastic!!!

Uki · 27/01/2008 11:26

Hi All

Daisy- so sorry to hear the news of your mum. Hope the funeral went OK.
How are you hun? thinking of you and family.

Mrs Mc- Official welcome to little Xavier, can't wait to hear all the details

LL is doing really well, such a cuddle pot. He is now on some solids and loving them, unbelievable enthusiasm, grabbing at spoon, bowl and hand for more.

LardyMardyDaisy · 30/01/2008 13:20

gosh it's all gone quiet over here!

Congratulations to MrsMcJr and welcome Xavier.

thanks Uki. The funeral went really well. It was very moving and uplifting with moments of humour, just as she wanted. My sisters and I all wore nice bright colours (as instructed) and there were lots of people there, including loads of distant cousins that I haven't seen in years, as well as all the younger grandchilden including my DS who is 5. The little ones got a ride in the limo fom the crematorium to the hotel afterwards which would have tickled her and it helped make the day less traumatic for them

We then had a family party and trawled through all the old photos. It was actually a lovely day, and one she would have been very pleased with.

We are off to scatter her ashes beside my Dad's on her birthday next weekend.

On baby matters, babyboo is crawling all over the placce now and keeping me very busy so I don't have the time to get on here very much at all these days. We are well into our BLW and she eats pretty much everything that we put in front of her, although she isn't keen on eggs or bananas or toast.

Hope everyone else is well!

Well ds is now over 5 weeks, and he is a little treasure
Can't wait to see MrsMC ds! I'm so pleased for her!
