I've just eaten alot of cookie crunch Grin

mrsbugsy just go with it, it really does pass again. And I agree with apple, just do whatever works for you. Bad habits can be undone later on once this phase has gone. I don't know if you've tried jiggling to sleep though, I now do that instead of feeding (still not as good as self settling but it meant I could stick to less frequent but bigger feeds). Oh, and eat cookie crunch!!

pascha Envy Envy

Birdies · 24/05/2013 12:48

And Envy to those of you cooking. Pizza for us Blush

Pascha · 24/05/2013 12:49

Total shit. Can't remember the last time we watched anything new on actual telly. Its normally a boxset in the evening, The Sopranos right now.

hides packet of readymade meatballs from Tesco from Bunty who is making them even though she is a bit poorly

Pascha · 24/05/2013 12:50

I still feed to sleep half the time too.

Angielka · 24/05/2013 12:53

bugsy just to echo the others - I am also feeding to sleep and will worry about changing habits when this all calms down. The only other thing that works is putting Molly in the buggy at nap time and either going for a walk, or rolling back and forth in the hall...

This too shall pass!!

Cookie crunch is on my next UK shopping list. You ladies have me intrigued...

mrsbugsywugsy · 24/05/2013 13:00

thanks all, cookie crunch sounds good.

this morning I found a worrying looking stain on my bedsheets, looked closely and realised it was chocolate cos I had been eating a wispa in bed Grin

Pascha · 24/05/2013 13:01
Grin

I'm freezing. Just put the heating back on Angry

AppleCrumples · 24/05/2013 13:03

Angie i would be worried there won't be any chocolate left... Grin

Lots of making stuff here so have bits of paper everywhere Hmm Going to have to clear up as dp db maybe over later with their 18 week old..

mrsbugsywugsy · 24/05/2013 13:05

the buggy works but we live on the first floor so if I take her out for a nap then I have to wander the streets till she is ready to wake up.

mrsbugsywugsy · 24/05/2013 13:06

birdies do you still swaddle? we stopped about a month ago but tempted to try it again.

BuntyCollocks · 24/05/2013 13:16

I also feed to sleep, or if she's getting pissed off with a new let down and just wants to suck, she gets a dummy and a bum pat. Every time. Unless she falls asleep in the car.

Grin pascha is buying ready made meatballs and just making the sauce Wink

I think I may need to try this cookie crunch. For medicinal purposes, you understand.

As are the fairy cakes I baked with DS this morning to keep him away from napping dd.

We stopped swaddling as she was getting annoyed, and she seems to be sleeping better now. Next transition will be hanging from her own doorframe as opposed to in our room Shock.

birdies my fave shit dinner is dr oetker pizza, Pringles, and garlic bread Blush

Have broadchurch. That may be tonight's offering. Hope DH hates it then I can watch it during the week whilst he works.

AppleCrumples · 24/05/2013 13:22

Re tv i do not watch the endless repeats of stargate oh no Hmm :)

am not lurking on mn to ignore the chaos either

Pascha · 24/05/2013 13:38

I did rewatch the first Sherlock on iPlayer the other day. Also the last ep. of Dr Who, even though I gave up on it two series ago. I was intrigued by the thread on here about it.

Birdies when we were away the meals basically went:
Friday - Burger King, homemade chilli and rice made by the owners.
Saturday - chips at softplay, Indian takeaway for dinner
Sunday - Pizza and doughballs
Monday - Full English breakfast before driving home.

Apart from the Chilli I don't think we saw a single vitamin for the entire weekend.

Birdies · 24/05/2013 13:49

Feel sick....too much cookie crunch Confused Actually after I raved about it, the second time I had it it wasn't quite as amazing as I'd hyped it up to be! However, it hasn't stopped me eating large quantities of it Grin

pascha that sounds like our meal plans for the whole of next week and were not even on holiday! Oops! Does anyone else not eat many home cooked meals? Say yes!

mrsbugsy I do still swaddle. I think it's ok as long as they're not rolling yet. She tries to escape but if an arm comes out she touches her face, sucks her hands and wakes herself up. It's something else to wean her off at some point, but I've decided to work on just 2 things at a time - so the first was the feeding every 3 hours and not before, and the second was establishing regular nap times and bedtime. If you can get away with not swaddling though, it would be one less thing to tackle later on?

Pascha · 24/05/2013 13:55

"feeding every 3 hours and not before..." hahahahahahaha come and try that with D, he would eat you alive before the second hour was over. We have got bedtime down to a fine art though and naps seem to occur by themselves at reasonable intervals through the day.

Our meals got better when I realised it was easier to feed DS1 the same, more or less as what we have and that meant I needed to up the nutrient level considerably. I now have a small but growing repertoire of meals everyone will eat (well, DS1 removes anything green, but you know what I mean)

Angielka · 24/05/2013 14:36

overcompensated for lack of cookie crunch with maltesers. feel sick. at least I'm not obsessing about Molly's sleeping Wink. she is asleep. for now.

Tugstonia · 24/05/2013 15:13

Feeding to sleep at night here too... It's the only way DD will go to sleep, though I know it's not ideal and is a bad habit etc. DD sleeps really well in her pram in the day, though we're also on first floor so it's a pain in the arse trying to hoik her upstairs without waking her. Tempting to let her sleep in it at night as well...

I have to go and buy some of this cookie crunch choc now! I did eat most of a large bar of mint aero earlier though Blush. Such crappy weather all I want to do is sit in the warm eating.

Pizza for dinner here too! I'm taking a multivitamin which in my mind makes up for the lack of vits from actual fruit and veg...

Have yet another blocked duct so have spent all spare minutes today massaging my boob and trying to unblock it. Can still feel a sodding lump though. Hmph.

Hope everyone's ok and getting over colds and coughs. The three-week cold is definitely here.

mrsbugsywugsy · 24/05/2013 16:15

I am mostly watching Game of Thrones. It is deeply unfair of them to introduce a really hot new character last week, and then have no episode this week due to a bank holiday in the US Sad.

birdies dd has just started to roll so I better not start swaddling again. She still sleeps to the sound of white noise and with a dummy, but at the moment we are having too much trouble with her sleep to try to get rid of them.

Saying that she has now been asleep for the last two hours, I can't decide whether to wake her up or not.

We aren't eating too badly, luckily DP is a good cook and likes cooking. We do eat quite a lot of pizza though.

mrsbugsywugsy · 24/05/2013 16:41

speaking of food, is anyone hoping to do baby led weaning?

Pascha · 24/05/2013 18:14

Well, I never could do with pureeing so I'm bypassing the mush and plonking stuff down to play with in a month or so, I guess that could be termed BLW.

CreepyCrawly · 24/05/2013 18:41

I'm just tucking in to sausage and chips from the chippy. DH is the cook and he's at a friends for the night. I eat better now though than I ever have, I used to be so so fussy but now I'll eat anything.

I like the idea of BLW but I think I'm too much of a worrier to try it out.

Lostbobbles · 24/05/2013 20:50

What a miserable shit day

Had a very lazy morning went back to bed after school run with DD2 and she slept until 12. She has been really sleepy all day actually bet I'm in for it tonight.(nothing new there) She's already cried a few times since going to bed at 7.30 but has settled after few minutes.

I did make a little to trip to pick up my extravagant bibs purchase will never disclose price to DH Grin

Haven't watched any decent tv for ages, DH keeps telling me to watch homeland but I'm too tired busy Internet shopping to be bothered.

Packed DD1 off to mil for the night, she's going to the mendhi night and then having a 'sleepover' Grin

As for food I'm trying not to even think about the crap I have been consuming especially as DH has been away I think one dinner consisted of a large bag of kettle chips, followed frequently by hob nobs breakfast. Shock Diet starts next week must lose last 5 pounds and commence exercise to tone the jellyHmm famous last words

DD1 has birthday party tomorrow then have the wedding on Sunday, knackered just thinking about it.

Not sure what I'm going to do re weaning I did a mixture of both with DD1. Although with blw, I am not very good with the gagging it freaks me out.

Meringue33 · 24/05/2013 22:22

Ah the wedding sounds great Lost, hope you enjoy.

Bangers and mash was yummy. Watching Peter Kay. Bit Envy, all the other girls in my NCT group are off out on the town. I begged off due to the cold tho feeling a bit better now. (Have just outed myself if any of them are on this thread!) Glad to be going to bed tho, hoping LO will sleep too, his temp is still raised and he's still a bit manic.

Planning to do BLW here too though have got some pouches and jars in case we get bored waiting for him to be ready .

I had an entire day away from B today. Left at 7.15am and got home at 6.50pm. Not nearly as bad as I thought except from the extremely engorged boobs! He didn't wake up in time for me to feed him his breakfast so by the time I got to Edinburgh, they were already pretty full. Three hours of meeting plus a bit of lunch meant my boobs were rock hard and very sore. Cue expressing in car but not having enough time to do it fully. 2.5hrs later and I have a leaky boob situation (despite having breast pads in bra). Managed to get to toilet to dry top under hand drier! Another 40mins of meeting and express in car again but only took two milk storage bags with me so had to stop expressing again before I should've. 3hr drive back up the road and once again, rock hard/sore boobs and instant expressing when I get in the door! Didn't remove all the lumps and bumps but Bailey managed to sort that out with his bedtime feed. Took a cool bag with freezer packs - milk was really cold when I got home despite the car being parked in the sun all day.

We had chilli for tea. Left all the ingredients out for my mum to cook it while she was looking after B today! Was nice coming home to a cooked dinner got once.

I feed to sleep at night but can generally get all naps done with rocking or back patting. He usually gets fed around 8pm give or take. When he's gone down earlier, he's woken earlier or near enough the usual time.

I'm going to try this cookie crunch thing... I wondered about the jelly bean one too...?

We have some form of home cooked meal every night. We're not big fans of ready made stuff and don't have a microwave Shock and the oven broke last night... No more potato wedges for the foreseeable future!

Someone asked about date nights... We go out once a week/10 days without fail. Hubby's mum is insistent on it so they look after B and we go for dinner or a few drinks. The first time we did it, B was 15 days old and my mum looked after him. Been doing it ever since. Smile

I've been going eBay crazy the last few weeks getting stuff for B's room - going with a digger theme. Been pretty successful actually!

happyhow · 24/05/2013 22:35

Oh and don't think I'm going to bother with baby-led weaning as such. Will start with the purées etc and then he can pick and choose later. Just going to give him a few more weeks.
