L's sleep is random. That's the worst bit. J is 2 1/2, so I've had 2 1/2 years of sleep deprivation now, and my problem has gone from being acute to chronic. For example they both slept for a few hours earlier in the night but I have been to J twice and L three times in the last hour or so, and I just can't sleep for minutes in between this. I've become intimately aware of how much sleep I need, (4 hours per night is sustainable if unpleasant, the difference between 4 hours and 3 hours 50 is the same as the difference between 4 hours and 5 hours), I've developed very effective techniques for putting myself and others to sleep. It's the randomness. That's what hurts.

and my wallet won't close

and my diamond soled shoes are too tight, dammit.

Please ignore me and my last post

donna, hugs. I used to feel the same 'he's not really mine' thing with ds1. To the extent that when I dropped him, well fell over as I was getting up, and we both hit the floor, my immediate thought was, 'there you go, I knew it wouldn't last'. He was fine though, and the feeling went away gradually. So all I can say is, accept the bit of worry, and know it will go away in the end. Maybe a monitor will help mitigate it, but yes, perhaps if it's becoming overwhelming and impacting on what you do, just talk thru with gp.

LuisGarcia · 13/04/2013 02:12

This is starting to be a bad night.

LuisGarcia · 13/04/2013 02:28

I am thankful I'm getting more efficient at cooking, and that I have an appreciative crowd. I am thankful for Paul McCartney and this flipping blackbird. I am thankful for a whole heap of stuffs.

I know I'm a few days early / late but I need this right now

LuisGarcia · 13/04/2013 02:34

I really hope you're all asleep

wishes hard

Lily311 · 13/04/2013 02:35

Am here. Listening.

Lily311 · 13/04/2013 02:37

Too tired actually.

Donna, i have an angelcare one. Just movement not sound. I boughtit for the same reason, was too anxious.

LuisGarcia · 13/04/2013 02:37

Hi Lily

Lily311 · 13/04/2013 02:38

Hi luis

Needless to say O is asleep. It's just my fucking insomnia.

LuisGarcia · 13/04/2013 02:40

Count 1 as you breath in, and 2 as you breath out. It's insanely easy to distract yourself from this, but it's worth focussing

Lily311 · 13/04/2013 02:42

Oh and thank you for bottle offers for bottles but i won't get more. No point really, i only use 3. I figure something else out. Liking gt 's idea of taking fairy liquid with me and milton tablets and plastic bags.

Lily311 · 13/04/2013 02:43

I'll try counting. I need a big wet fish to knock me unconscious.

Lily311 · 13/04/2013 02:44

Night night luis.

LuisGarcia · 13/04/2013 02:45

g'night Lily. and good luck

kirrinIsland · 13/04/2013 03:18

Hugs ((Luis))) Sleep deprivation is bad :(
I know what you mean about the randomness. I much prefer to know whats coming - so now I start the evening expecting it to be horrendous. This means I often utterly hate evenings and dread them with a passion; but otherwise I would probably have gone a bit crazy by now!

I hope you are asleep by now.

LuisGarcia · 13/04/2013 03:24

nope. just put L down again.

Apparently some parents don't fear night time.

LuisGarcia · 13/04/2013 03:27

fail.

sigh

Bryzoan · 13/04/2013 04:07

Oh Luis. Know what you mean about the randomness. It is tortuous.

Hugs Donna, I used to feel a bit like that with dd. Hope the monitor helps you. If it is stopping you sleeping though you prob should visit the Gp.

Donnadoon · 13/04/2013 04:56

Thanks everyone just slept from 12 and dd from 10 pm so all good
I'll be ok..it's good to get things off my chest as if I told DH he would probably worry too IYSWIM
