sfxmum · 28/05/2006 09:01

oh yes lummox i know what you mean
from 'is she a good baby? (wtf? - no she is a devil child!)
to this walking lark, she will when she is good and ready - smile and nod smile and nod

2Happy · 28/05/2006 09:22

Oh good grief, all the time Lummox. I keep wondering what the next repetitive, dull question will be once he is walking!

lummox · 28/05/2006 09:51

2happy - meant to post before to congratulate you on keeping your preg secret. i'm finding it pretty hard work.

sfx - i should know this i think but are you back to work for the first time tomorrow? all the best for it if so.

maybe we should have a sweepstake on the next dull repetitive question?

oh and sfx, we still get asked whether ds is good/well behaved. well....he eats fluffm has little proto-tantrums (tantrettes) and obsessively clears every surface he can reach, but he doesn't answer back much and he's yet to go out without telling me where he's going.

lummox · 28/05/2006 12:24

oh, and he seems to have a tendency to steal hats.

sfxmum · 28/05/2006 14:01

been out, so much mud trainers caked, but much calmer now.
lummox - yes back to work.thanks
dd also clears everything, cds go flying and we have books packed tight so she cant yank them off the shelve. i like the hats thing dd keen on wires and is an expert at switching off pc. she tries to get to my laptop but i keep it on a table.

dd likes story books and loves the sound effects of 'we are going on a bear hunt'she picks it up and goes sh sh and lots of baby spit come outGrin

mumma- tell him to get a move on

to the expectant ladies - hope no one too sick and all going ok

teabelly · 28/05/2006 20:10

Just popping in to say SFX good luck going back to work Smile

...trying to remember what the questions were after ds was walking - probably 'when are you going to give him a little brother/sister?'...at least some of you know the answer to that one already Grin

sfxmum · 29/05/2006 12:27

Hello everyone, hope every one is doing ok.
Happy bank holiday, only 3 sleeps (as dd 1 has been saying) till dd2 is 1. I am trying not to get 2 upset. I cried when dd1 turned 1! It just goes so fast.
Hopefully there will be another one on the way soon!
IV was trying to get some gardening done 2day but iv given up.
SFX - hope your 1st day back at work goes ok! You’re lo looks so cute
How long were you in labour for eastyorkmum?
Lummox_ we aren’t adding any money to the trust fund thingy
We have a post office account for each dd. We choose the post office because it’s simple
Iv just bought I dyson and I love it (so far) its purple so it matches my house
We are getting a new cat from a rescue centre and its name is baby but we can’t call it that! Any one got any good ideas for pet names, please, otherwise it will be called cosmic creepers
Any way I better get on before dp gets back with the littlens

2Happy · 29/05/2006 14:28

Hope the first day back's gone ok,SFX. If it's any consolation it isn't a bank holiday here so I've been at work too Sad
I looked at your pics, EYM, and thought they were seriously cute!

tribpot · 29/05/2006 17:23

\link{http://homepage.ntlworld.com/phancy/Junies.htm\Update Junie stats page}, ladies, hope this meets with approval - 2Happy, I don't seem to have your stats, did you tell me them and I've forgotten to add them in? (If so, apologies).

sfxmum · 29/05/2006 19:46

hello all, many thanks for encouragement and cominserations, first day back over and done with.

i am glad to report dd waved bye in the morning and shrieked loudly when i arrived but otherwise it was business as usual. she is now asleep.clearly happy with mummy or daddy.
i still missed her loads and just bought a phone with camera so that dh can send me a few once in a whileShockvery unlike me i have an ancient basic thing.
the day was utterly boring reviewing new financial procedures, yawn yawn yawn.

as i said a friend came along and brought me up to date on all the gossip personal and company which was quite diverting. but we did end up talking about my work colleague who lost a baby, some of you may remeber we were pregnant at the same time and hers was born a day before mine and died the day she was born. all very sad. i did at last find out why, all the very very tragic details. she will be on leave coming up to the anniversay so i will write to.she has not been able to face me particularly for obvious and understandable reasonsSad

anyway dh is cooking and there is wine and phish food in the freezerGrin

eym - yes i saw the pics forgot to mention, really lovely!

lummox · 30/05/2006 07:36

congrats on getting through your first day sfx - it must have ben very tough after a year away.

trib - cheers for the stats. i guess it's too late to change ds's name to 'what's that in your mouth?'. i think he's going to start answering to it soon.

lovely pics EYM - and good luck organising the party

and good luck with the cat bresha. we're thinking of getting one, so will be v interested to see how it goes.

katzg · 30/05/2006 09:42

hello all - boy you lot chatted this weekend!

well we get the opposite of the walking questions, we get:
random stranger (RS)- 'oh so cute how old is she?'
Us - not quite 1 (but had questions since 10 months)
RS - 'really, no surely she's more than 1!'
Us - 'honestly, she took her first steps at 8.5 months'
RS - 'Gosh she's very tiny then for her age'
Us - 'Yes'

and this at least twice a day! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Lummock - glad to hear you had a good 1st birthday in your house.

i built DD2's climbing frame and she has had a play on it but it was wet and horrible so i expect more climbing today.

Re bank accounts, we have got lots for our girls! they both have childrens trust fund account which one grandparent is paying into, they have a nationwide children account which christmas and birthday money goes into and then a regular childrens saving account at the halifax (the 10% interest one) which my parents pay into and a reg childrens account with them too. both our girls have more savings than us!

Thank you for looking at the pics, it was a wonderful day, my mum would have been proud of us.

Well we did it lol well william did , he slept all nite yayyyy in his cot in his own bedroom, we couldnt belive it, im trying to reck my brains what i did different.

The only thing was my sis came round with our baby georgia, and william had more peaple to walk with lol, give my hubby a break.

eastyorksmum · 30/05/2006 11:46

lua · 30/05/2006 12:24

Hi All!

Had a busy weekend including taking DD to her firt movie in a real cinema! We went to see curious george, and it was great. Mother and daughter manage to cry when george was all alone, but we were all smiles by the end! The music is great too! oh, and we were sick of so much popcorn!

Happy belated birthday to Little lummox! and I guess happy birthday to all the junnies to come!

SFX - so, did you look gorgeous in your first day back at work?! Smile
Your DD looked gorgeous on the bike!

I say the next big questio will be:

  • When is the next one coming?
-is he/she potty trained yet?

DS still says nothing, but somehow manage to be a very demanding little man! and points and ughs with utter clarity! Grin
He is very proud of walking by himself with the help of a push cart thingy, but will not attempt on his own, lazy boy! He was standing up holding my hand and I let him go on sunday. He stayed there for a minute or so, when he suddenly realized he was all on his own! He was so happy, but we stupidly clapped once he sat down, so now he thinks the greatest thing is to sit down! Shock so probably he won't walk for another 3 months|....
I remember how anxious I was for DD to get to all these milestones, now is like:
-oh well, not walking [shrugs shoulder, and goes on tiddying the house...]

katzg · 30/05/2006 13:37

forgot to add earlier that last night was DD2's last breast feed Sad, its cows milk all the way now.

OP posts:
2Happy · 30/05/2006 14:52

Katz Sad I have to get round to weaning ds too, I don't think I can cope with the idea of co-feeding, and I'd better do it soonish so he doesn't associate new baby with milk going. Don't want to stop Sad!
Trib - I don't think I was ever on the stats page because I joined the Junies in novemeber! Anyway, ds was born on the 11th and is called Alexander James. (James is a popular middle name for the Junies isn't it, lol!)

2Happy · 30/05/2006 15:16

Muma - how's the new house going? Have you punched dp yet...? Wink

2Happy · 30/05/2006 15:45

INcidently (good grief, sorry to post quite so many times Blush) Trib, how'd you do that stats page? Jan '07 were thinking of doing one.
