hi everyone,
im on an anti-climax now. my best friend has had her baby!!! i was up all night worring . went to sleep at just gone 12am , then awake at 2.30am and again at 4am. text b/f dp and he never replied until 10.30am to say that she was halfway there at 6am and has had an epidural and she will be assessed at 12.30 . he then texted to say at 11am that she was 8cm and her waters had broke. i never heard anything till 3pm!!!!

hayden entered the world at 12.47 by emergency c-section . weighing 6lb 11ozs. mum and baby fine and i am so proud of them both

the baby was too high up and just wouldnt come down . they tried forceps but it didnt work and she was taken to theatre. i am gutted for her as we discussed what she wanted in detail and i know that she will be dissappointed . just glad they are fine and healty. she will be in recovery till tmw and i am so desperate to see her and make sure for myself that she is ok .

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Toby, 'Pod', Fox and last but no means least Harriet Hope you're all going to have a great day!

Bubb - Happy Anniversary

Muma - wohoo for you friend, shame it wasn't quite the experience she'd been hoping for, but like you say safe and sound is the only result we care about!

tribpot · 22/06/2006 08:49

Thanks all - happy birthday to all the other 22nd Juners (I think mandymac's dd is also 1 today, and there was at least one other person lurking). I think it was the effect of midsummer; it may have been the shortest night but it didn't feel like it at the time! (On the other hand, this year it did with ds putting in another 5:15 waking performance this morning, already feel rubbish!)

Bubb, happy anniversary!

katzg · 22/06/2006 09:09

MrsWednesday · 22/06/2006 10:28

Happy birthday to all the Junies today! Was it a full moon this time last year? I'd forgotten there was such a bumper crop born on the 22nd.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

welshmum · 22/06/2006 12:27

Happy Birthday little Junie babes.

muma3 · 22/06/2006 13:21

running out of ideas for dd3 lunch?
she doesnt like finger foods anymore and im thinking she is getting too old for mush

gave her halfed cherry tom , chunks of cheese grapes and 1 slice of bread and butter for lunch and she just throws it on the floor getting worried she isnt eating properly, i have been trying to be a good mummy and have a routine too but its going out the window and she just eats when and she if feels like it

HELP?

katzg · 22/06/2006 13:30

have you tried scrambled egg? eggy bread?

OP posts:
muma3 · 22/06/2006 13:32

she tends to just pull bread apart and scrambled egg just gets played with and ends up on the floor

tribpot · 22/06/2006 14:25

MrsW - it was a full moon. I can't claim any mystical influences though as I was induced because of pre-eclampsia, hey ho! (Was most convenient though as I didn't want to go two weeks over and only have three weeks to recover before my friend's wedding - well done ds).

muma3, congrats to your friend, btw. There really is an urge to want to get in there and help, isn't there? I've been v disappointed with those of my friends who've had babies after me and who don't seem to have welcomed help or advice at all, I would have grabbed any help I could get with both hands! Still, it's v early days for your friend and when the dust settles, you can be there for the long haul, which is the main thing.

Re: eating, ds is still spectacularly rubbish at this. He may have some similarities with tea's ds but eating is definitely not one of them. Most things end up on the floor. I'd say if she will still eat mush I'd give her some of that. Better than nothing! The only two things my ds eats with gusto are bananas and bolognese sauce (not together, I should add).

muma3 · 22/06/2006 15:59

thanks guys

i suppose im just being lazy . if she doesnt eat finger foods then i have to cook and puree and that just takes time that i havent got . if she eats sarnie or salad etc etc then she can just have what i have at lunch and its eaier . i do still blend some of her meals in the evenings and she eats what we do . it just isnt getting easier arghh

teabelly · 22/06/2006 18:04

WELSHIE Hello long time no see - hope you're all doing well? Are you coming to the Zoo on the 22/7? Please come - it'll be great fun! And you have no excuse as you live so close

Evening to the rest of the Junies

Muma, sometimes when dd is teething she goes off finger foods too - I guess it just hurts her gums. For sarnies she loves dairylee, but she eats more of it if I break it into bite sized pieces rather than leave it as quarters. If you don't want her to have gloopy food you could do your own with less sauce. Quick cook pasta can be done in the micro in minutes, and sainsbury's do a good children's tomato pasta sauce (blue parrot??) that makes quite a few portions and lasts a while if in the fridge, so you can make up a small portion as and when.

tribpot · 23/06/2006 09:34

Ladies, can I direct you to a poll I'm running for a friend of mine?

Welshie - lovely to see you, please do come to the zoo!

Ds had his birthday 'cake' (Green and Blacks organic chocolate icecream) yesterday, he hated it! Oh well, more for mummy and daddy!

Bubbaloo · 23/06/2006 12:27

Trib-I've just looked at your poll, but don't want to post on there,as I'll get hounded.
I've only ever had one smear test which was 11 years ago.I have been a few more times to have them done, but I have some kind of "smear phobia" and they haven't managed to do them.I know how important they are and really wish I could have one done and have spoke to my practice nurse very recently about trying to get another done within the next couple of months.I have tried everything from having a few drinks and the doctor even giving me valium-it just doesn't work.Crazy,I know, especially as I've even managed a baby somehow, but even when I was in labour and they wanted to do a speculum exam I went mad and wouldn't let them do it,even while I was sucking on the gas and air.I must be a hopeless case.

SFX-So sorry to hear about your mum.

tribpot · 23/06/2006 13:51

Bubb, no hounding allowed on the Junie thread as you know! What a nightmare for you, have you thought about hypnotherapy or anything like that? I assume you didn't have to have a sweep whilst you were pregnant, just as well!

welshmum · 23/06/2006 13:54

Thanks for the welcome back. I just couldn't keep up with everyone so disappeared. Will have a look at the zoo meet up xx

teabelly · 23/06/2006 16:50

Oh yes - SFX for your mum.

Bubbs - hey we all have fears, and no matter how rational we are or how important it is to over come them sometimes it seems like you can't - I know - I'm needle phobic, and I know try and make jokes out of it, but believe me it's no joke when you're dragged out from under a bed to have a pre-med, or held down by two nurses whilst a third perfoms the injection because you can't stop the involuntary jerking of your limbs...when I had to be tested for Gest Diabetes with DD it was the worst thing the Doctor could have told me! Mind you I don't think the nurse enjoyed it either

Welshie just pop in when you have a mo - always natter going on!

2Happy · 23/06/2006 18:17

Hi all, sorry for all the Junie baby's birthdays I've missed, I hope everyone had great times.
I suddenly stopped feeling pregnant on sunday, and had pretty much convinced myself the baby had died , but to cut a long story short, I feel crap again, and had a scan this morning and everything's fine [phew]. Why do I panic so easily?!

sfxmum · 23/06/2006 23:15

hello all

2happy - take it easy! said the woman who spent nearly 9months checking for blood in her knickers. sure everything will be OK, how goes the sickness?

mumma - forgot to say congratulations to your friend, have you seen the baby yet? hope things are better at home.
about the food, well dd is finger food all the way, refuses to be spoonfed and throws half of it on the floor....oh well she seems to have fun with it so thats OK.

welshie- nice to see you

bubb - thats pretty awful don't think anyone is really ok with it. i have an 'odd positioned' cervix (apparently) that makes it harder to collect cells, cue long minutes of fiddling about with me tensing while trying to relax. maybe CBT would help?

bubb, tea and trib - thanks for that but its ok it was 22 yrs ago. just makes me want to keep healthy for my LO

dd went to her first monkey music session with her daddy, apparently made friends and hit the tambourine with great vigour and enthusiasm.
she also only went to sleep at 9.50 pm no respect for mums planned telly viewing schedule

night night

katzg · 24/06/2006 11:58
