the trials of motherhoodGrin

LOL at tin foil - of course it has the advantage of blocking out mind control trasmissions issued by the CIA or somesuch Grin

off to settle my little monkey since dad washed and read to her

tribpot · 18/06/2006 10:05

5:15 again this morning. My step-dad accidentally called me on his mobile at 7:45 (he refuses to learn how the keypad lock works so my Mum pressed the wrong button whilst passing the phone to him). He was horrified until I pointed out I had been awake for 2½ hours!

sfxmum · 18/06/2006 10:12

dd up at 1am and 5am thankfully back to sleep until 7. did not have lie in went running instead. deeply regreted having had 2 glass of wine last night.

must send dh out in order to make fathers day card and wrap his present. completly forgot about it last year was too sleep deprived, now there is some perspective.

tribpot · 18/06/2006 14:14

Christ on a bike, have just found out my MIL has invited one of dh's aunts to ds' party next weekend, WTF? And just casually threw it into a phone message like there was clearly no need to ask if this person (who I have never met) was invited.

JonahB · 18/06/2006 19:06

hi all,

I haven't been on here in what seems like forever, but wanted to wish all your DD's/DS's wonderful happy birthdays.
Mrs Wed, thanks for the message. We had a little family gathering today, which was lovely. Cue for more primary coloured plastic to walk into my house. Sigh. Can't be helped.
I've been having a frantically busy time of it. I'm now doing my manager's job as he has left. Which is all well and great but no extra pay or job grade. I'm giving this until mid-july before I start shouting about this - I need to prove i can do the job first before I can persuade them to give me lots of money. Also moved house 2 weeks ago. Honestly, the most stressful event ever. Apart from not having broadband for 2 weeks so no MNSad I ended up with my belongings in storage for 2 days and the three of us camping out with my mum. However, I'm in now, its a beautiful house and now i just need to find some time to decorate! ha ha.

take care all of you, big kisses to all your little ones.

JonahB · 18/06/2006 19:09

OMG, sorry, i've just read all your other messages wishing my little man a happy birthday. Thank you all so much, and thanks not forgetting about me when I'm clearly a terrible MNer and never chat any more.
Trust me, its not through any lack of desire. I sit down for precisely 30 mins each day and that's it. Although you all clearly manage to juggle it all. That settles it, you are all superwomen!! GrinGrin

tribpot · 19/06/2006 07:36

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Bubb's Oscar! (You share your birthday with my grandad, if you wanted to know that). Hope you are having a good one!

muma3 · 19/06/2006 07:49

my friend had her baby yesterday . not sure if any of you read my post about her a few months ago .she is extremly lazy and her house is repulsive. well since i got a house and moved she hasnt been in contact. not a peep . nothing for dd3 birthday not even a phone call . we invited them to our party but they made excuses about being too close to due date and sorry but they wont be coming . i was so upset. they were the only ones (ob her and her dh) that i let look after dd3 when she was little and she was the only friend who helped me out in the first few months. but then i suppose she got fed up of dd3 not being little anymore.

anyway she had her little girl yesterday dd3. friends dh phoned my dp and told him . sent my dp a picture. i havent heard from her in a month . im so upset.

im really pissed off with dp as he wants to go out and celebrate with her dh . wet babies head etc but i dont think he should . at the end of the day they couldnt be happy for us and make an effort but we have to rally round them now and i think that they are being out of order tbh .

sorry just a lil rant Blush

Happy Birthday Oscar (and Trib's grandad) Smile

Muma - hmmmm not sure I'd be entirely happy about the friend situ either - but maybe taking the high ground and welcoming their new little one could smooth the path to a re-kindled friendship if that's what you would like??

Jonah - so glad the move went ok[ish] - hope you get the time to decorate - we've only managed 3 rooms since moving here, and that was 7 years ago, so I hope you fair better than us! Grin

Black-out blinds - if anything they appear to cool the rooms provided they're an hour or so before they go to bed - also you can get (I think from Argos) blackout cutain linings if you don't want to put up blinds as such - must say in this respect we followed 'She...' and I'm very glad we did! Wink

Katz do you belong to 'the book people'?? This months catalogue has a collection 8 easy read french/english story books (for 3+ years olds, worth £32 now just £7) - not sure how many books you're after...Smile

sfxmum · 19/06/2006 17:13

hello all

happy birthday baby bubb

tea - thanks for tip

muma- hope things get better, i would not be happy with any sort of getting drunk in pub business really. hope your girls are settling ok at new school too

trib - you would be constantly exasperated with
the customs of where i come from, there everyone and their cousin just show up at the slightest provocation.
reason 175 for why i leftGrin

btw does anyone know if our babies can have Quorn? i know tofu is ok, not sure about this one tia

teabelly · 19/06/2006 19:27

Never thought to wonder if it was ok...just give it to her now anyway (as I'm veggie) if I'm doing a shepherds pie it's quorn mince or nothing...whole family gets it, ds has the sausages too Grin

katzg · 19/06/2006 19:35

Think the thing with quorn is the salt content.

DD1 wont have a bar of it! says its yucky!

me i love it!

they both have veggie mince though

OP posts:
sfxmum · 19/06/2006 20:50

thanks for that katz & tea had a look at veg society site and they seem to think the main draw back was the poor calorie content

i use vegemince some quorn sausages and those lovely TIVALL frankfurter type sausages. think we going back to being mostly vegetarian after dalliance with meat during pregnancy, mind i still love fish

apparently missed most of 'wedding stories' on BBC3 source of great laughter yesterday - i am obviously an evil person

muma3 · 19/06/2006 23:27

thanks guys Smile
happy birthday to baby bubb, sorry im not keeping upBlush

sorry about the rant but im stll really angry at the whole situation . i was waiting for years for a house and she even wiped my tears when dd2 was really ill and living in a flat was really getting to me . then we get a house and i felt like i had won the lottery. she just couldnt be happy for me . the limelight wasnt on her . arghhh!!!! anyway another of my close friends (who lived above me at the flat ) was due her baby yesterday . im really excited for her . its her first and i cant wait .

sfx - the girls are liking there school more then im liking it iykwim .

friday they went on a school trip to cotswold wildlife park . everything was fine ( i think ) untill they got home .

  1. dd2 teacher approached me and was hesitant to inform me that someone on her coach (a assistant i presumme ) had giving her someone elses tablet. she had a travel sickness tablet in an envelope -sealed/labelled/ready to take 20mins before due to return etc .when i asked what this tablet was they were a bit unsure . i was told it was a travel sickness tablet - boots own? then i was told that it was a KALMS !!! i was furious . she was away with the fairies when i went to collect her . "oh no she just looks tired it was a long trip " i know my fucking daughter and we very often do long journeys she was bloody high !!

then...... dd1 wanted the toilet . apparently the adults went at services but the children wasnt allowed . she went to the school when i was talking to dd2 teacher. i told her to meet me at the gates . couldnt find her so i went to have a look for her to find her with a teacher drenched . she had an accident and was left in toilets for 15mins wet and not knowing what to do . i felt awful for her . all she was worried about was embarrassing herself at her new school .

there . i hate it . but they are happy so i just grit my teeth . the are having an ofsted inspection shortly so we will see what happens . new headteacher sept too so......

me an dp still rowing dd3 has clawed all my face and the council still havent come to plaster my living room and hallway walls so i havent really started decorating

you guessd it im stressed .
and to top it all off i have a frozen shoulder and am on 500mg of co-codimal-400mg of ibruprofen 4x and might have to have injections arghhh

hope you are all better then me Smile

sorry another long one Blush

teabelly · 20/06/2006 13:27

Oh Muma - don't really know what to say! ShockAngry at tablet situ doe dd2! and poor dd1 and her drenching Blush hopefully no-one else will know. Bugger your old friend Wink good luck to your other friend for imminent birth Grin, and hope you won't need the injections afterall! Re dp - with all this going on no wonder you're getting annoyed at his lack of help - but if you survive this together at least you know you can cope with anything Smile

sending big hugs, x

muma3 · 20/06/2006 16:06

im so upset right now

sfxmum · 20/06/2006 20:39

hello allSmile

muma - that is awful about the school trip, it could have been worst but i would complain so that they shape up. about the other subject, is it really worth the trouble? besides can't see how anyone who just had a baby can find the energy for all of that. ignore it, hope you make nice new friends in your new area.

and in todays chapter of the adventures of a SAHD, dh decided to give dd his mobile phone to keep her distracted while he changed her very dirty nappy...need i say what happenedGrin oh i laughed...even while at work

teabelly · 20/06/2006 23:13

SFX I'm crying so much I think I'm going to wet myself!

Muma - SFX is right, don't waste the energy - true friends are true friends whatever, the rest aren't worth worrying about.

muma3 · 20/06/2006 23:17

my best friend is in labour !!!!!!!!!!full blown its her first and she is still at home i am hyper now how will i ever get to sleep

i know i know sfx is right you both are but its just the fact that i am so down at the moment that i miss evryone and she is saying i have pushed everyone away has got to me .

muma3 · 20/06/2006 23:19

i even started 3 threads the same as im so excited i couldnt wait lol comp really slow too

Bubbaloo · 21/06/2006 08:37

Happy Birthday to little Franniban.

Muma3-Hope you get things sorted out.I also would def complain to the school and agree your "friend" isn't worth getting upset about. How exciting about your other friend being in labour-keep us posted.

SFX-PMSL at the mobile phone, how funny.

Thanks for all the good wishes.Oscar had a lovely birthday. He grizzed through most of his party and screamed when we all sung Happy Birthday to him.We then went to DBIL for the day on Sunday which was lovely,as ds had a massive garden to crawl around. We went to a local farm for his actual birthday on Monday and had lots of fun feeding the animals and at the baby group yesterday they gave him a cake, little pressie and sung happy birthday and again he screamed. He also screams when another baby cries or with loud noises.Do any other of the Junie babies do the same? We're off to a soft play place today with dh,which'll be good as he loves it there, then on Friday we have an appointment at the hospital for him to be measured for his next pair of boots. On Saturday we're off to sunny Lincolnshire for a week,so I won't be online for a while.Really looking forward to it and have friends turning up on the monday for a few days too.

Hope everyone is well and hello to all those lurking-I know you're out there.

Lots of love.xxx
