Giddy, you have been barmy for years we all know it Wink Grin so just carry on.

Have just completely lost it with dh, who was obviously thinking "very nice, can I now eat my jalfrezi?" but he really has done such a fantastic job in the last year since ds was born, and I don't think I stress that enough because his health creates so much worry and stress and work.

As you would say Giddy GRRRRRRR-ARRRGGGHHHHHH!

sfxmum · 13/06/2006 22:51

yes accept the insanity and go with it, life is so much simpler thenGrin
i do worry all the time and always picture worst case scenario, which makes me good at risk management and contingency planning but often a complete pain to live with.

trib i imagine the slow burning constant worry must be wearing and inevitably tension builds,

i also feel guilty that my life is ok and i am actually quite happy with dh and dd, its not ok until both my sisters are ok

giddy1 · 13/06/2006 22:52

Yes !!!!!!!!!!!
GGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRR.AARGGHHHHHHHHHHHH
is good!
SFX I read that as "dry mouth" and not "dry month" I'm on the wine too. Bloody boxes of wine .
SSHHHHHHHH
Won't drink it all Grin
Oh and Trib..Envy "jalfrezi" mmmmmmmmmmm
I'm flippin starving now.

giddy1 · 13/06/2006 22:53

you can tell I was dragged up!

sfxmum · 13/06/2006 23:03

getting quite distracted by the Keanu Reeves appreciation threadGrinBlush

giddy1 · 13/06/2006 23:14

ewwwwwwww no thanks
too girly and fresh for me.
I'd like a little slice of Sean Bean (my dh has his accent) or someone equally rough and tousled looking.

night night.

Bubbaloo · 14/06/2006 08:31

Uki-If you're lurking there down under,Happy birthday to your ds.Hope he has a lovely daySmile.

tribpot · 14/06/2006 08:45

Yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY UKIBOY! (Although I guess technically it's past his bed time now!)

I think ds is trying to put me into an early grave. A late nap yesterday afternoon led to a late put-down but the little monkey was awake at 5:30 this morning and refused to go to sleep. I have my appraisal this afternoon - fortunately it's more on the 'objective setting' end of the spectrum than evaluating my performance as I will probably be asleep under the table.

sfx, hope you can make contact with some of your sister's friends. It does sound like she needs help from someone not emotionally involved.

Right, now I have to persuade the small bird who just nearly frightened me to death in the kitchen that he should exit via the door I've opened for him rather than by repeatedly flying into the window. Bloody wildlife!

katzg · 14/06/2006 11:53

happy birthday little Uki

Happy birthday Uki's DS.

And great news on your job Katz, will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Trib, hope your appraisal goes well today. We still on for Friday pm? Paddling pool sounds great (the weather forecast is hot I think)

I'm impressed with the dry month - it's hard at this time of year, warm weather and chilled white wine go so perfectly together that I'm drinking far more than I should. Blush

Sorry for short message, can never find the words to say how much admiration I have for all you Junie ladies who have so much to deal with (it's difficult not to end up sounding trite) but I'm sending you lots of love.x

tribpot · 14/06/2006 12:56

MrsW - have emailed you. Now have a meeting on Friday p.m. but will try and reschedule in favour of paddling pool action!

teabelly · 14/06/2006 15:25

Just a quickie to add to the Uki little man's birthday wishes - hope you had a great day Smile

katzg · 14/06/2006 15:49

Ok excuse mu poor memory but which Junie lives in France?

OP posts:
Bubbaloo · 14/06/2006 18:37

Katz-Lummox,is in France...I thinkSmile.

tribpot · 14/06/2006 18:44

Well done Bubba! Lummox is in France, the land without Marks and Sparks (at least at the moment, I nearly went into mourning when the one in Amsterdam closed down in M&S' cull of its European branches).

Katz, this Friday is a bit difficult for coming to yours, but you are welcome to come to mine for paddling pool and swing fun! (Also any other Junies nearby)

sfxmum · 14/06/2006 20:03

perhaps it is not surpeising that one of dds first words is glasses considering that one of the phrases she hears most often is

  • no darling please not mummy / daddys glasses!Grin give them back please ( daddy says blindly reaching forward)
sfxmum · 14/06/2006 20:04

oops surprising i meant

lummox · 14/06/2006 20:46

it is me in France, katz. do you have a french query?

trib - M&S is one of the things I really miss. we're in the country so can't blame the euro cull (we're also live closer to Folkestone than any major cities in France).

sfx - glasses. arrrgggh. dh has started wearing lenses again because ds is getting so determined. we are both cursing our short-sightedness (Grin) in buying groovy looking but very fragile frames. i suddenly know why people wear those deidre from Coronation Street frames which is something that had always puzzled me.

katzg · 15/06/2006 08:54

Lummox - the reason i asked is because DH is trying to teach DD1 french which she is picking up very quickly and enjoying a lot, her favourite word is Dolly (poopay (sp)). We have a couple of very basi French books but you can't get very many here, i was wonderign if there was anything you would recommend.

Trib - This friday as in tomorrow? i'm afraid i can't make, but next week maybe. Will have to work out what to do with DD1.

OP posts:
lummox · 15/06/2006 11:13

hi katz - that sounds great. i'm not sure how much help i can be. we're hoping hat ds will pick up French as he goes along. we have got some french books, but they're for babies/toddlers. so lots of "are you my mother" type books and ones where he can put his fingers in holes.

that said, I'd be more than happy to go to a local bookshop and have a look for things in your dd's age group. what kind of things does she like? we're back in the UK in a week and a half, so I could easily post things to you then.

katzg · 15/06/2006 12:14

That would be brill.

She's a very girlie girl, and loves stories about fairies and princesses.

The other thing that would be good would be English stories in French - like the hungry catterpillar, Gruffalo, ect

OP posts:
katzg · 15/06/2006 12:15

forgot to say thought the french can't be too compilcated or DH won't be able to read it too her!
