Hi All!
Thanks for all the good wishes! and happy birthday to Katz DD and MrsW DS! I am sure I am missing a bunch of other ones... sorry!

We had a nice weekend celebrating DS birthday's. Had some friend over for a supposedly easy relaxed evening. It did end up a bit stressful as I had to make 3 different cakes! One just about an hour before people arrive... I decided to do a healthy cake, but al but a banana cake ended up unedible Blush, so I sent Dh out to get ice cream and cookies for grown ups...

and no Tea... we didn't even remembered that was our anniversary! Shock that's how romantic we are! But happy anniversary to you! Did you have a good time? Send my best to my future daughter in law...

lua · 05/06/2006 14:57

sfx- we are as careful as to say Shoot! While that is not good parenting in my books either, it is better than me having a heart attack by keeping it all in...Smile

The other day we got DD trying it out. She was in the back of the car and she just keep saying shoot! In all types of entonations and waiting for some reaction.... I think she figured out is a bad word, but not quite sure...

Impressed at your DD for saying anything though...DS finally "spoke" his first recognizable word: A-GUA
That was the same word as DD... you would think we are mistreating them.... Grin

MrsWednesday · 05/06/2006 20:15

Happy birthday to Katz's DD2, Lua's DS, Tea's DD and all the other babies I've missed. And thanks so much for all DS2's birthday wishes.

He seems to have had a lovely day, didn't do much apart from take him for a trip to Morrisons to do the weekly shop Blush. Me and DS1 made him a cake (not a patch on your duck cake Katz) whilst he was having a nap and it was a great success. He couldn't shovel it into his mouth fast enough!

Can't believe it, this time last year DS2 had just burst into the world at a hundred miles an hour - I was still sat on the floor waiting for a midwife to turn up at the house and cut the cord! It's been a fun year all in all - babies are just as amazing second time round I think.

Hope you are all ok, so sorry I'm not around much but I do try and lurk. Will vow to post more now!

Happy birthday Junie babies!

katzg · 05/06/2006 20:43

MrsW - i was thinking something similar this morning, sat in my nieghbours front room at 10.30 ish this morning, this time last year i was having a few contractions and chatting to you, although i was side tracked at 11.50am.

hello all, hope you are well

work has been hard the job itself is often stressful and i could do without the strained atmosphere. wish i could just get on without the extra hassle. i am now on call until next tuesday, how i hate being on 24/7 at least i will take a week off at the end of it.
dd not sleeping which is a shock so i am really really tired.
rant over sorry

dd and dh quite happy with each other he really is pleased to be able to have this time with her.

take care all

tribpot · 06/06/2006 20:17

Oh sfx, that is a brutal combination. How much on call are you likely to do, or is it the edginess of knowing it could happen any time?

Keep strong, and remember "this too shall pass" - hopefully sooner rather than later!

sfxmum · 06/06/2006 20:43

hi trib thanks for sympathy feeling all better nowGrin i am used to doing this just means if there is a problem out of office hrs they call me we take turns and i do it about 5X a year, sometimes it is busy sometimes i hardly get a call. i don't get too stressed about I anymore but having just gone back it is kinda hard i still feel disorientated. to be honest the team has been great as well as old friends who work for the organisation on other sites. just wish my manager was not such a pain but still i don't see her everyday she works somewhere else. i need time to adjust and at the same time there is a lot to deal with, as ever.
i guess the tiredness is making me feel worstBlush just blurting it out made me feel better.

oh yes and my colleague who lost her baby is pregnant, 19wks, i am so happy for her will be meeting her in a couple of weeks
cheers again that was nice of youSmile

JennyWren · 06/06/2006 21:06

Katzg - someone remembers me Grin Grin

I do still lurk occasionally but I rarely post - somehow it seems cheeky to stick my oar in after so long! But now that I've been invited, so to speak... Wink

Meg's actual birthday is tomorrow - 7/6/5 - very memorable date! She's gorgeous - of course I would say that, but she is Smile. She's been crawling for a month or so and she's walking with her little truck or holding onto our hands. She says Mama and Dada - sometimes even to the right people!! - and she's got her two middle bottom teeth and one at the top, but to the side of where the front two should be! It looks cute but very weird at the same time.

I finally stopped breastfeeding last week - after all that fuss to get started, then never wanting a bottle, she gave up without any fuss at all. I just didn't offer a breastfeed one morning and dh gave her a beaker of cows milk instead. She took it as if that was the way it had always been. A week later we did the same with her evening feed, with the same result. She hasn't asked for a breastfeed once. I don't know whether to be pleased it has been so untraumatic for her, and that we obviously timed it well, or to be devastated that I was so instantly replaceable Envy.

And now I start work again on Thursday Sad. It is a new job, and I'm actually quite excited about it, but at the same time I will get to spend less time with Meg, so it's sad too. But she will be with my PIL for 2 days and at nursery for 1 day, and I know that she has a fantastic time whichever, so at least I don't have to worry about her childcare.

Right - that's plenty for one message, now I need to read all the other messages and try to catch up!

katzg · 07/06/2006 09:21

Gach! ds totally overtired when he came back from childminder's yesterday, refused to sleep, ended up driving him around the countryside late at night. So got him down early for a nap this morning and what happens? The man comes to read the meter - rings doorbell and knocks several times and shouts out cheerfully!!! Angry Why do they do that?! Hmph, rant over Grin
