lua - agua! i like it what are you doing to them? is it a plea? is it on account of the draught?Grin
dd of course does not speak much as such but is forever repeating what we say, sometimes clearer than others, must clean up my act really

bresha - love the cake mine is rather lopsidedBlushgreat name for cat will the kids friend believe they have a real cat?
MMR well would like to wait a bit longer lets see..

eym - great about solo bus trip i know it can be hard.

2happy - put sign outside baby asleep do not disturb then use violence if they don't perfectly justified imo.

very very Envy about all those short laboursEnvy mine went on for a couple of days because she was back to back. think i will spend every spare moment of next pregnancy on all fours oh the pain!

hello all others too hope you are well

sfxmum · 08/06/2006 19:29

seem to have lost the ability to spell or use punctuation i blame texting

tribpot · 08/06/2006 20:02

This cake thing. Are we being competitive mummies about the making of cakes? I mean, it's not like they will even remember, yes?

2Happy · 08/06/2006 20:15

sfx - ditto back to back rubbish labour, went in Thurs afternoon, had him sat evening! I'm hoping for one of those mythical easier second labours, like Bresha! And I like the front door/violence idea Grin
Trib - if ds is lucky I might do a carrot cake - I have a ridiculously easy shove a bunch of stuff in a bowl, mix, bung in oven recipe. And that's it. And that's not 100% due to morning sickness either Grin
EYM - congrats on bus! And does ds like his shoes?

tribpot · 08/06/2006 20:21

2Happy, ridiculously easy in my book is: Someone else arrives with a cake. Anything else is hard work, even going to M&S to buy one Grin

and EYM, well done you on the bus journey! Next stop space shuttle!

sfxmum · 08/06/2006 20:36

trib dear M&S deliverGrin

dh saw some school uniform in town and decided there and then thats the school dd is attendingShockthis SAHD thing is getting to his head or maybe its the heat on his fair scottish head!

tribpot · 08/06/2006 20:39

Not here, sfx! This is the grim north, we actually have to go to M&S to fetch our cakes! (You can pre-order).

Bubbaloo · 08/06/2006 20:59

Trib-no cake making here I'm afraid.I've ordered Oscar's cake from a shop.Wish I was clever enough to make my own-it's costing a fortune!

sfxmum · 08/06/2006 21:04

no deliveryShockoh dear terrible violation of human rights!!!Grin

teabelly · 08/06/2006 23:40

Trib - we had the rediculously easy option - mum brought around her cake - she's a sugarpaste queen and has done some ab fab cakes for all our special occassions... Grin

P.S. Katz if you still message Scraggy wish her DD a very happy birthday for tomorrow Smile

katzg · 09/06/2006 06:04

Happy Birthday baby scraggy

I 'spoke' to scraggy the other day and she's hoping to come to London zoo

OP posts:
teabelly · 09/06/2006 06:52

Oh fab, it'll be nice to see her again, and what are you doing up at un godly times I thought I was early coming on at this time! Grin

katzg · 09/06/2006 08:17

dd2 woke up at 5.30am!

OP posts:
tribpot · 09/06/2006 08:43

Urgh Katz, ds was up at 5:45, what are our babies trying to do to us? (I can't MN until he has safely gone back to sleep though as he demands attention every waking moment, unless offered a roll of kitchen paper to unravel and throw around the room - which I can't do every day obviously!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY SCRAGGY and hope to see you at London Zoo!

Tea, impressed with your lack of devotion to cake-making, but ds won't see either of his grannies on his birthday, and my mum doesn't do cake making anyway. My MIL favours the "no wheat no dairy no sugar no fat" school of cake-making - yes, you may well wonder what that leaves to make a cake from - let's put it this way, M&S are not afraid of the competition, even if they don't deliver Grin

I think he might get some celebratory ice cream instead of a cake. Yes, my musings on this subject are finished. Green and Blacks organic choc icecream it shall be! Given how long it takes to defrost enough to eat, no probs with putting a candle in either :)

bresha · 09/06/2006 09:45

Good morning every one, hope all is ok,
My dd woke up at 2 last night but went back to sleep, thank heavens, she dose it once a week for no real reason,
am sorry, I didn’t mean to start a cake war, ever since I gave up my job iv been looking for a hobby of sorts, and I found I love cake decorating. Really sad I know
and there is no M&S near me
kids don’t really care what a cake looks like, just as long as they can eat it!
My dd loves to unravel kitchen paper 2.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY SCRAGGY
Wow teebelly a sugarpaste queen, has she got any tips shed like to share?
If off camping this weekend, hope I survive, my toe has de swelled after the incident last weekend but it still hurts
I am really looking forward to picking up soren lorenson on Sunday, il post a pick of him, he is so cute
Take care every one xxxxxx

teabelly · 09/06/2006 19:18

Bresha my mum could bore you rigid on the subject of cake making/decorating and sugar paste (can you guess it's not really my thing Wink) so I wouldn't ask her anything unless you really want to know as once asked it's difficult to shut her up Grin - but I do have to say her cakes are brill...Darlek for ds, Spongebob for dh, Batman and tweenies for friends...no surprise ds has requested a dinosaur for next week!

sfxmum · 09/06/2006 20:08

hello, did our junies synchronise? mine was up at 5.45 tooShock

bresha hope you have a nice break tents always bring to mind images of muddy Fields bad booze and music somewhere around. must investigate the family friendly version.

green&blacks ice cream! yes i think it will be a suitable present for fathers daddyGrin

sfxmum · 09/06/2006 20:09

or day evenGrin

2Happy · 09/06/2006 20:28

Well ds wasn't up at 5.45, but maybe that's because he didn't go to sleep until after midnight Shock! I think it's the heat - am I the only one hoping for a break in the weather?!

teabelly · 09/06/2006 20:39

2Happy - no you're not alone - dd's routine has been shot to pieces over the last few nights - hot weather combined with bad teething pains has resulted in a child not sleeping (average 6 hours per night - night = 7pm - 7am) and child not drinking milk or eating much food (mind you she certainly won't waste away from not food for a day or two Wink) - still it will get better - and if no the wine helps dull our pain, hic! Grin

teabelly · 09/06/2006 20:41

uh oh , 'no' = 'not' - I see the wine's helping already Wink

MrsWednesday · 09/06/2006 22:59

Nightmare on the cake front here. DS1 and I did make a cake for DS2 today. Cake turned out fine but then had nightmare morning with two hot and stroppy children so never got round to decorating it. Had a mini party this morning for DS2, who fell asleep straight after his lunch, without eating the cake. It's STILL in the tin, dried out and revolting after being in the sun all day.

Anyone want some? Grin

Happy birthday Baby Scraggy.

tribpot · 10/06/2006 09:19

Ugh, curse this hot weather. Ds went down okay at 7:30, by 8:30 was awake and crying again because his room was like an oven.

Reluctantly moved him back into our room, he made his feelings on the subject of going into the travel cot abundantly clear so I put him on our bed surrounded by pillow. Sure enough he fell out of bed in the night (unharmed) so I got no sleep after that. The first plane of the day coming in to land woke him at 6:15, arrrggghhhhh.

At least I haven't got to work I suppose! Any tips on how to keep his room cooler? We can't leave the door wide open (it's never shut fully) cos he won't go to sleep then, the room is westward facing (slight advantage in the morning usually!) with thick navy velvet curtains (landlord's!).
