Hi! Just a quick post before bed, am shattered!

A has been a madam this evening, we had to implement a naughty step Hmm bcos she kept spitting and hitting Shock Pain in the bum. She has also been telling her nursery worker 'NO' quite a lot by the sounds of it so at least its not just here...

ledkr think you've been due a nice chilled holiday to be fair. Don't suppose D gave you a lie in too?! YANBU not to go to funeral, it just doens't sound practical anyway.

blizy any news re: job? Bloody stupid periods, make sure you have lots of wine and easter eggs now!

american yay for mortgage! It is terrifying but I keep thinking at least we're paying for private rent (and paying someone elses mortgage) anymore.

wiggles well done Sofia! I love the idea of kids doing gangam style, that made me laugh.

MizK good luck for assignment, gah I am so hoping for semi-decent weather so we can actually get to the park with A for a bit!

I am planning a trip to ikea tomorrow to get A's bed! I am really looking forward to it

We are also going to pil next week, 4 days/3 nights... eek. Good thing is, A will love it.

Night all :)

Ponyo - L has been hitting a lot lately, he was in time-out within 10 minutes of getting out of bed this morning. Shock I hope he's just testing boundaries and will soon realise that I come down like an iron fist when he misbehaves actually a softie.

It took me a while to bring DH around to the idea of owning a house, as he didn't quite understand the benefit over renting (his family doesn't have much of a history of home ownership) but he's really excited about it now. And the tax benefits to having a mortgage/owning a house are unbelievable, I think we might actually be financially better off. Shock

D likes to hit or threaten to hit us and Ella.
It's usually attention seeking so I try to stop and play with her for a bit if I can.
She also likes to kick us and objects. She's a total reprobate really lol.
Took her swimming today she has reached new levels of daringness. So scary. I just wish she would move her arms more to get her head above the water Hmm
Came home and had a sleep until five so goodness knows what time she will be going to bed!

Happy good friday all :)

Well we went to ikea today, was ridiculously busy, bombed it around getting bed (and got the last one!), mattress, bedding etc etc. Got to collect the very last thing we needed - the slats for the bed - and they didn;t fecking have them Angry Angry Gaaaahh!! Am seriously considering driving to the ikea at Coventry tomo just to get the fuckers. Plus we can meet up with my sis who lives nearby.

Anyway! Glad its not just A that has been punching recently, in the nicest possible way!

american I am also a softy, and find it hard not to laugh when telling her off sometimes Blush Excuse my ignorance, but what are the tax benefits of buying a house? just interested/nosy.

ledkr really hoping D is in bed asleep for you now. Grin at her being such a daredevil, so funny hearing about her.

My funny story from today - I commented to dp earlier today that A's fringe was looking a bit greasy and couldn't work out why. Fast forward to bath time, I told A we were going to do her bath and she said "yes. but not washy hair. because...I not put bacon in it" Shock Grin she really dropped herself in it there! When I asked if she'd rubbed bacon in her hair earlier she started laughing, then ran away Grin

Can't believe she says such long sentences ponyo
Clever girl. I remember ds telling dh " we haven't got you some trousers for your birthday" ha ha and Ella used to play hide n seek and when the person started looking for her would squeal " I'm not here"
D slept ok but woke at 4 to come on with us.
She seems a little better sleep wise as on she seems to like her bed when she's tired. She asked to go up tonight.
Very annoying with bed clothes tho and wants to choose her own which do not include baby gros or sleep suits and defo not sleeping bags. Any attempt to put these on her are met with her stuffing said articles indr the sofa Hmm
Happy Easter all. I have ten for lunch tomorrow. Much borrowing of tables and use if emergency chairs so someone is lower than everyone else Grin

FIL is gone. [wipes brow]

Ponyo - Ikea is always like that, missing a key component that you have to make 5 subsequent trips before it's in stock. Mortgage interest and property tax are tax-deductible so basically don't pay tax on that income.

DH has been working all weekend so it's just been L and me and it's been lovely. Sometimes he's very challenging and I'm counting the minutes until bedtime but we've been having a great time. Smile

ponyo we had similar issues with Ikea - I checked availability for our items the night before and all had good stock availability where we were going but when we got there first thing the next Monday they had mysteriously run out of 2 things we needed Hmm . So we have a laminate floor and liner but no door edging or clips to lay it Angry

ledkr Grin at the emergency chair

DH cut Alice's fringe today and it's exceedingly short and wonky Hmm . In other news I have ordered a very scary looking new exercise dvd as I'm getting bored with the shred. It promises results but looks more scary than the shred Confused .

mizk forgot to ask, how are things with DP at the min?

Oh, and meant to say ages ago k2/knitta says hello to everyone

Happy Easter all, hope you're having a good week end.

Oh, I'm off to see itsokay tomorrow, yay Grin

OK, me again Blush . Mizk I have just put a couple of pre weight loss and currentish piccies up on profile. They are rubbish photos as I can hardly find any pictures I'm in so you may not be able to even see any weight loss Confused but you did ask

Report

Lovely pics Reastie. You can really see your weight loss - well done girl!! I've managed to put on half a stone in the last few weeks and know I've definitely hit my 'fat' weight as I feel so uncomfortable and my tummy is huge!! Must stop eating!!!

Drayton Manor Friday and yesterday was fab. The hotel was lovely. We had interconnecting room which was basically two rooms with a door in between. They had evening entertainment for the boys, who both enjoyed a boogie. And the theme park was great fun, apart from me crying on the big wheel. Why oh why do I go on these rides when I'm petrified of heights. The bloody thing stopped at the top for 5 minutes and I cried like a baby. Noah and Ben thought it was hilarious!!!

Ponyo, I too love Ikea, but the blooming stuff is so hard to put together!!!

Reastie, sounds like dh has done an' Emski' on Alice's hair!!

American, glad fil has gone. You can relax now!!

Noah is a pusher, I had to remove him from a soft play area last week cos he pushed every child in there!! I was shocked as Ben was never physical like that!! Noah has been on the 'thinking' step quite a few times in the last week as he is just plain naughty!! He refused to say sorry to dh today so was on the step for a while until I sat next to him and whispered that he needed to say sorry to dh and could then come off and play. You should hear dh say 'Noah say sorry now please. Can you say sorry Noah?', in a really soft voice. He's such a softy!!

ems that sounded a lovely break. I am also petrified if heights but never learn. I had to be let off a child's roller coaster in Lego land I was rigid and had to ask a lady to call the operator to get me off Blush
Reastie I can't see pics or is it on the dreaded book of face?
Had a nice but busy day today. Glad they've all gone now though.
Only five sleeps till one direction! Ella is having kittens. I've booked our hotel and not conk g home until sat night as dh has decided on a night out with pals then straight to wembly on Sunday morning then his gramps funeral Monday. Apart from the funeral I think he's taking the piss assuming ill have both kids from say night until Tuesday.
As you can imagine I shall be taking back my time in lieu

Hello all, I have just done an HOUR of rapid return as it is A's first night in her new bed. She didn't sleep all day, was shattered, then just kept getting out of the bloody bed!! Hope we haven't made a mistake with this Hmm

reastie I can see the pics on your profile, wowsers! A crakcs me up, the picture of her in the fishermans outfit is funny, she looks like shes going to topple over! ]

ledkr maybe you can't see the pics bcos of easter namechange? Well done on your feeding of 10 :) Your dh is being a bit ambitious isn't he?!

emski ah your break sounds so lovely. A is a pusher too, a sneaky pusher at that!

american what a relief for you, enjoy having your home back!

Am very tired so early night for me, Happy Easter folks [busmile]

An hour is good going I'd say.
D is stil up charging about possibly due to the clock changing.
Still not brave enough for the bed tho. She slept in one on holiday and was brilliant but she was usually knackered.

Currently avoiding exploding on a thread where a dh has smacked a 2 yr old on the bum and marked her. Simply unacceptable but its getting nasty. I feel like I'm on the voice with my hand wavering over the button Grin

An hour is quite good going isn't it ledkr? Doesn't feel like it at the time but you're right, we could still be going now to be fair! The hardest thing was keeping a straight face when A's fingers appeared around the door then her little face peeked out Grin

I saw the beginning of that smacking thread, not surprised its turned nasty. Poor woman.

ledkr if you will change your mn nn then you won't be on my mn friend list. You shall have to change name back to see (or just not bother!). Have to go and nosy at smacking thread

ponyo good luck with sleep training. I've just watched that channel 4 sleep programme which I recorded the other day. Did you see it? Love the little boy calling bfing 'gok' Grin

ems I don't think Alice is a pusher. To the point I actually mentioned it to the hv at her 2 year check. It's always other children who pinch stuff from her and she just never seems bothered or makes a fuss. I'm already worried she'll be a pushover and bullied at school Confused . Hv said she'll probably start grabbing/pushing soon enough though!

ILovePonyo · 31/03/2013 21:13

I saw that reastie! It was good but I would say that, I love dr Tanya Grin I felt a bit like I was on house of tiny tearaways this evening, lurking outside A's door doing rapid return Wink

I sometimes worry about A being a pushover, not that she is but out of all of the children in her room at nursery she's definitely one of the less 'boisterous' ones. Iykwim. I worry about that sort of thing loads though, I've seen how mean some kids in school can be recently and it scares me!

ponyo I've git to be honest with you (cos that's me) I thought poor baby not poor woman. I'm a really shouty pissed off mummy but I would never smack a baby Sad
I did give Ella a clip around the ear today though for her cheek Grin

Ah I agree with you ledkr, I do think poor woman but bcos of the stress of baby and demanding toddler, not because she got a slating!

I was talking about smacking with a mum I work with recently, I can't say I'd NEVER do it but agree with the try and remove myself from situation rather than lash out strategy. Have mostly been telling A off for hitting recently tho, so doesn't make sense to hit her back Confused

Oh cr@p (in delia speak) . MIL has tried befriending me on fb (she's just joined and has quite literally 4 friends on there). What's the etiquette on this? I can't very well say no but it just feels like a bit of invasion of privacy having her nose at everything. Maybe I should accept but change my settings so she can't see status updates??? Why oh why didn't I be clever like BIL/SIL and hide myself from fb search results!

reastie poor you, that's one of my Facebook wobbles! I ignored 2 friend requests from some relatives Blush

emski glad you had a fab time. The girls have me tortured to go. Every time they watch a satellite channel they see the ads for Drayton Manor, Legoland etc. We don't have any theme parks over here at all

americanexpat yay and breathe Wink

We had a lovely Easter. The girls got enough chocolate to resink the Titanic.

We are off on a seaside trip today, brr. Just having to recheck what's open Shock re the weather. The zoo has been closed for the past week because of the weather! It's usually their busiest day of the year Sad In all the years of the Troubles I never remember the zoo closing, bloody snow.

We watched End of Watch on DVD - it's very very good, if anyone fancies a film to watch. But it gave me a real wobble re Mr Ws job. I always focus on no feckin dicks shooting him on the way to work that I never actually think that much about there being baddies at work, that he's supposed to chase etc. He's armed in work and he was watching the film going "Oh I have that one" etc. I've been very freaked out and have been dealing with it in a very responsible way having lots of sex Blush

Have a lovely day and here's hoping the temperature hits the balmy height of 7 degrees Hmm

wiggles enjoy your day out (assuming it's open that is!) and Confused to Mr W and his job/gun knowledge. Don't know how you deal with all that and his hours tbh.

Wiggles yikes, when you put it like that it does sound scary. Though I imagine mr w is enjoying your concern WinkWink

Well A slept in her new bed all night Smile then came into our room at 7.30, then went and got back into bed! And made me stand outside the door like I had been last night Hmm demanding "you stand there".

Very grey and miserable here today, yuk. Was going to venture out to a park but might have to settle for soft play, we have enough stamps on our card for a free trip this time though, woo Hmm

reastie can you just lie and say something about special settings due to your job so kids can't see your page?
How intrusive. That's why I don't do FB but like you I wish I'd had the savvy to set an anonymous one just so I could send pics to my family abroad.
wiggs my sympathies. Compared to your dh my dh's is a walk in the park but he was once attacked in town and got a broken nose and I was upset and angry for ages at some dick attacking such a placid kind man.
I do get a chill when I see those planned unprovoked killing of police.
Tbh my job used to be very dodgy when I did child protection. Big dogs massive family's all there to greet me Shock I usually found their surprise at my manner would carry me through " let's have a little chat over a cuppa" then bark at the toughest looking one to put the kettle on lol.
I also speak in very down to earth tones Grin get this shithole cleared up by the time I come back. Works a treat.
ponyo I did my MARAC training last week it was trres interesting. Do you work with them?
