Hello all!
Quick post before I go on the school run.

Reastie, like the idea of using a vacuum for a pony tail. I should try it on I - she would FREAK!

American hope things are going well with FIL. I don't think I could stand anyone stay that long. I like my own space too - it's bad enough having to share with DH and the DDs :o.

Not much to report here. Spent all weekend looking at new houses - unsure what to do, whether to move or stay put. I love the area and DDs school, like our house but it is lacking in space...

Must dash for school.

reastie · 25/03/2013 18:36

American I'm the same - I need my own space too, and, like robin even DD and DH can be testing enough!

robin that's exciting. Are you looking at houses nearby or a big far away move? Is there any scope to extend your current house?

Re: early starts I don't know what my problem is but it's me that's been having early starts the past few weeks - from about 2 - 3 am I wake up and don't get back to sleep properly and often wake up for the day at 5am. I'm shattered but can't get back to sleep Confused . Hoping it goes back to normal soon but at least I'm on school hols soon.

hobknob if you see this, DH and I have joined the 'historic houses association' (yes I know, sounds fancy doesn't it!). It means we get free into loads of places including Hever, so we may be able to meet up there one day if you like for free there as we also have Hever year long passes too, so effectively you could get in with one of my 2 entry cards (the one without the picture obviously Wink ). Assuming that wasn't too sneaky of course Hmm

ems wow well done you on the shred.

I have now officially hit the 5 stone barrier Grin . Alot of my pre preg clothes fit but my boobs are still bigger so none of my old tops fit yet Sad . I looked at a picture of me this time last year. I think I was in denial about how fat I was because I'd put it all on in a couple of years. I felt like I looked as I used to but quite obviously I didn't. I pick up Alice and struggle to carry her and can't believe I had to lug around the equivalent of 2.5 of her everywhere. No wonder I found it so exhausting just walking.

ponyo Grin to anya saying she was a big girl. I can imagine Alice saying that too!

americanexpat hope you're hanging in there with the pils!

reastie well done on the 5 stone. My boobs never went back to the same size/shape after any of the girls. There are some tops that will never fit me again - yes it has to do with the changing shape of boobs and nothing to do with the Easter Eggs that keep getting opened by the little chocolate fairies!

There is a school talent show in the girls school tomorrow - thankfully not for the parents Smile

Sofia and her friend are singing and performing a dance to Rihannas "We found love ...." Sweet Lord above I'm going to be getting a call from the principal aren't I? There will be some kids who'll be saying a prayer as their talent (bloody licky ares Rosary group), some magic tricks, a few Irish dancers and Sofia and her friend are going to be badly singing and shaking their arses - goodbye starring role at First Communion Wink It's not often that the talent show scene in About A Boy is the best case scenario but anyone who has seen Little Miss Sunshine will share my fears Grin

RobinSparkles ooh how exciting re the possible move if that's what you want. It's all a bit of a dilemma sometimes.

Wiggles at least they're not singing Rude Boy! :) have they practiced for you? I remember my friend and I, at Primary, doing a dance to "Let's Get Ready to Rumble" Blush Watch us wreck the mic, Watch us wreck the mic, watch us wreck the mic. PSYCH!

Reastie congrats on the five stone! That's fab, well done you! :)

It looks like we might be staying put :(. The place we wanted to go is a brand new village that has just been built - well they started building it around 2003 and it's huge now but there's still loads of houses being built. The new school opened on there in 2010 but it's the only one there and we can't get DD in :(. There are no spaces ATM.

I would be happy to move there and keep her at the school she is at but it's 4 miles away and I can't drive. Even if I could, it's still a bit of a trek. If I drove we could probably move and keep her at her old school until a space came available (apparently they're going to extend the school) but there are no buses to take until I can drive.

Robin - LOL at watch us wreck the mike. Grin That's rubbish there are no spaces in the school, they obv need to expand ASAP if there's new houses going up.

wiggles - saying the rosary is a talent? Hmm Good luck to Sofia though, should be hilarious. Grin

reastie - well done on the 5st! There's still a chance your boobs could go down when you stop bfing - I went from a D back to a B in about 2 weeks right after I bought a new bra. Though as wiggles says, they're not quite the same shape they used to be.

FIL is driving me a bit crazy - he can't yawn without making a loud noise and his teeth squeak when he eats. Not to mention the less than helpful comments when L is having a tantrum. Hmm I spent the evening tucked up in bed with my phone watching Netflix, felt really antisocial but needed a break. I don't want him to feel unwelcome but it's a very long visit in a small flat, and I still can't hear well so conversations are difficult. At least I have a night out tomorrow.

robin also Grin at watch us wreck the mike. Also a bit Confused as I always sing it as 'what, just wrecked the mike' but I am notorious for getting lyrics completely wrong . Not that I sing it much or anything obviously Wink . It reminds me of when I was on a school trip to Italy when I was about 14 and each group of friends had to put on a 'performance' on the last night in the hotel to the rest of the students and my friends and I actually stood in front of everyone singing 'swing your pants' Blush . We did the dance move too Blush Blush . Just as well it didn't happen in the days of mobile phones and people recording these events or I would be forever mortified.

wiggles I LOVE little miss sunshine and you have made me giggle alot. Hope the talent show goes well Grin

american PIL stay must be nearly over mustn't it?! Don't worry about feeling antisocial - you need some time to yourself for sure.

Oh yes, and my boobs also also very saggy. I swear they can now practically reach my tummy button Hmm

Yah!! Trevor and Simon!! They were fab!!! Did you see Ant and Dec perform on Saturday night, that took me back to my teenage years!! Wow, I loved them!!

Reastie, wow to 5 stone lost!! i can see how easy it must be to gradually put on weight over the years. I know deep down that at the moment I am not looking my best (ahem) but just cannot stop eating all the time!!!

Wiggles, I love your stories of the girls and communions etc. Hope the show goes well!!

Robin, same here with schools and lack of places. The LA have finally realised their is a major problem and are going to build a school in our area. Ben was one of 18 children who live in this area who ended up going to a school which we have to drive to. It is a lovely school and I'm pleased he goes there now, but who thought it would be ok to build hundreds of family homes without providing schools, shops, communiiy centre and playgrounds???!!!!

American, yep, yep, yep to needing my own space too. Thats why i have at least every other Sunday to myself and just stay at home in my own company and I love it. Can not imagine having someone to stay here!!!

I've got tomorrow off work as Ben is on school holidays and am taking him to Longleat and Noah's godmother. Can't wait. The cold weather can feck the feck off (Wiggles) and we are going to have a fab day!!

Love to all

Hi all,

ledkr so sorry about your dh's grandfather. Hope his grandma is ok, very sad.

reastie ha at swing your pants, I am also grateful about the lack of camera phones/videos when we were young, also when I was a bit older and going out getting drunk at the weekend! 5 stone is brill, well done you. Are still having lots of soup and stir frys?

ems and robin what a 'mare about the schools. I think we need to move before A starts school, some round here are good but some are rough as Hmm. Enjoy longleat emski!

american your fil must be really annoying you now if you're noticing his yawning and squeaking teeth Grin Lots of repsect to you anyone else that has pil to stay (ledkr!) at least ours stay in a hotel when they come to visit! I think I'd go bonkers if they had to sleep here too.

wiggles saying a prayer as a talent?!? Shock Good for S not being such a suck up! I love little miss sunshine its so funny.

All is well here, I keep forgetting its easter soon. Must stock up on choc eggs for me A Grin

A has been very sweet and giving kisses and hugs recently, I am loving it as she really isn't like that usually :) She's also discovered drinking her own bath water then spitting it out or gargling with it and thinks its hilarious Hmm

American, you are another day down with fil!

Robin, love the Easter name!

Big Grin at swing yer pants, I loved Trevor and Simon. Ant and dec were my fav when I was younger, I met them once when I hung about the stage door to the hall the playing bumped into them in Glasgow.

We have more snow again, no where near as much as you lot have been getting it, thank god!

I had a job interview yesterday in a nursery, I should find out the result by the end of the week. Right better go get ready for the kids.

Ledkr sorry to hear about dh GF, hope it all works out OK with the trip for funeral etc

I am on holidays now for a couple of weeks, plus it's our wedding anniversary today although DH and I both forgot, it took DM telling me to make me realise . Went to collect Alice's special boots today from hospital for her walking. I thought they'd be really cheap and nasty but actually they look shockingly nice quality considering and I googled them and they cost £100 to buy online Shock

American have you had to resort to deep breathing yet?!

Blizy good luck for the interview results. If you didn't get it it's only as it's not the right job for you.

Ponyo yes lots of soups and stir frys still. Bless Anya being so sweet.

ems enjoy the trip. Btw it didn't take me years to gain all that weight - it's all pg and bfing weight Shock . I'm now pretty much what I was pre preg (well, a few lbs to go but hey ho). Don't think I'll ever be a slim person but would like to get to a healthy BMI.

ledkr - sorry to hear about GFIL, how's DH getting on now?

blizy - I was just thinking of you this morning. Are you wanting to work at the nursery? Fingers crossed for you if you do.

Ponyo - it's not just that his yawning is a bit loud, it's like a fecking lion's roar. Hmm My hearing still isn't great and I can't even hear the tv when he does it! I wish he would bloody stay at a hotel but he doesn't drive so it'd be a huge hassle. Aww to Anya, L likes to eat the bubbles then spit them out. He's a splasher too, so bathtime is very messy in our house. Grin

Ems - I hope you're having a fab time today. Is it just Ben or both boys?

Another one who's happy mobile phones and YouTube weren't around when younger, it would be mortifying!

I had some bloods done last week (glucose and lipids) and they were right at the limit of the normal range. Shock It was the kick I needed to get back to exercising and eating better, have been at it a week and feel much better already. I also dropped 3 lbs of water weight and think I look much slimmer. Though I did an hour of bodystep last night and followed it with a cream cake. Grin

wiggles ha to the Little Miss Sunshine ref! Don't give S any elbow length gloves and you'll be grand!
blizy fingers crossed for good news!
ledkr sorry to hear sad news, hope DH ok x sounds like a very hectic week ahead but hopefully will go smoothly.
ponyo A sounds so cute kissing and hugging, I love that!
reastie you should be so proud, its unbelievable to lose that much! Well done, skinny pics please (I'm a nosy caaaah!)

Having a lovely time here dds joining in with everything and dh and I agree its done us good. Feel much more relaxed.
Funeral not untill a week Monday. Aibu not to go? It's a work day for me after two weeks off and ill have loads to do.
Also there's the small issue of two girls to care for Hmm dh says he doesn't mind if I don't go but I feel as if I should.

Ledkr, My DH's GF died recently (January) and I didn't go to the funeral. I did want to (well not want to but ykwim) to support DH but we had no one to look after the girls. If we had just L then we probably would have taken her with us but we couldn't have taken I as she would have got upset at seeing a coffin, even though she didn't know him. I didn't really know him tbh either. I had met him once years ago when pg with I.

Report
Creameggkr · 28/03/2013 14:31

Yes that's like me. I really want to go to be with him but at the same time have nobody to have girls and really can't take the time of work either.
The one aunty who I love (mils sister) is the other person I'd like to be there for but I just can't see how.
Me and dh have just agreed that despite us having been to some amazing countries, this holiday has been one of our favourites.
I'm not sure why but its been so lovely. We've swam everyday and done quizzes and the girls have been amazing
Even non sleeping dilly has hopped happily into her bed at night a d flaked out in seconds.
We are leaving tonight after Ella has received her best dancer award Grin as we think the traffic south maybe slightly hideous in the morning.

cremeggkr so pleased you've had a fab time. You really deserve it xx I wouldn't worry too much about missing the funeral.

Sofia managed to get through the "talent show" and even got an Easter egg for her efforts.

Looks like I may have worried unduly, it seems there were quite a few Gangam Style dances that were a little risque Wink and a few rude ie fart jokes may have been told by the P6 comedian. Sofia has told me she wants to tell some jokes, do a few funny voices next year. I fear I may have given birth to Sarah Silverman Grin

Happy holidays! I'm finished up too (except for tues, wee mindees last day with me).

blizy how rubbish :( I was going to ask you yesterday whether it had arrived yet but didn't want to pester. Enjoy the wine and chocolate.

Ledkr I'm so glad you had a good holiday, definitely well deserved. I'd agree with the others re: funeral. As your DH says he doesn't want/needs you there especially then it sounds more practical for you to work/childcare. I'd do the same in your situation too FWIW.

Wiggles glad the talent show went well. Was there lots of polite parental laughter with slight Hmm faces to the fart jokes?!

MizK - delicate? us? We have ledkr here fgs. Grin

I've made an appointment with a mortgage advisor next week. [brick] I'm flitting between being excited about buying a house and fecking terrified about the huge financial commitment.
