debka great to hear from you - I know you've been wild busy & the your girls are getting so big Shock . My friend has just completed her first year of her nursing degree. She's loving it, but knackered Smile . She loves her placements & although she was really panicky about doing written exams again, she heard last week she passed them all.

reastie I keep meaning to ask you - are those Santa tights/ leggings Alice has on in FB pics? They are gorgeous!

americanexpat How's the cat settling in? Anna is torturing me for a cat - she makes us all go for a walk in the street so we can see the cats the neighbours have Shock . We had a cat for years before the kids & the dog but Mr W wasn't as keen as I was & I'll be honest I've noticed a huge difference in our house since our dog died in the summer. Although she was a real moulter. Anna asked if the dog was going to come back after she had finished being dead Smile

Think we are going to put Christmas tree up today, we are the last in the street! Now is the time I discover all the "bargains" I bought in the sales last year - Santa shaped soap anyone?

Reastie · 06/12/2013 07:42

american how's the cat integrating?

wiggles I love the tights too! They are from next here they are . Alice has been wearing them non stop (apart from washing obviously) all week. We got size 3 - 4 so hopefully she'll squeeze into them next year too :)

Hello deb good to see you on here :)

We are very festive at the reastie household at the minute. Tree is up, father christmas visited twice panto at the week end, Christmas baking at work all week, nearly end of term... Grin

wigglesrock · 06/12/2013 08:06

reastie thanks, they are lovely. Now do they do them in grown up sizes Smile

We've been quite festive here too. The girls get around 6 December off from school every year - holy day - you know for God Smile

Reastie · 06/12/2013 13:24

I break up next Friday (13th - ooohhhh hope that's not a bad omen!) and back about the same as you I think. Sadly I haven't seen those tights in adult, which is a shame as they are so luffly. I bought some faire isle esque tights from M&S the other week so they are my christmas tights Grin

americanexpat · 10/12/2013 16:04

Things are still a bit rocky with the new cat but better than Friday when we finally let him loose in the house. He seems very elderly, just wanders around the house and sleeps. The vet said he's showing signs of arthritis, I've never seen him jump and his grooming isn't very thorough. I can't remember if I already posted that my sister's friend is fairly certain the cat was her neighbours' and they abandoned him when they moved. I'm very Sad and Angry that someone would do that to an elderly indoor cat.

wiggles - Xmas Grin at finished being dead. Two cats are easier than one, you know, especially if they're kittens... Xmas Wink

We put our Christmas tree up on Sunday and L keeps wanting to look at it and play with the ornaments and saying, "It's beautiful!" Xmas Grin We were supposed to go to a Christmas party Sunday afternoon but L wasn't feeling well and it was snowing and I'm a wimp about driving in the snow so we canceled. He was home sick with a fever yesterday but after a day on the sofa he's fine now.

wigglesrock · 10/12/2013 20:45

americanexpat your new cat is gorgeous - photos on FB are lovely. Slightly Envy at snow, the girls are asking me every 5 mins "will it snow for Christmas?" Have discovered Anna is a heat lover - she is not impressed with the winter at all Hmm. She would like to run around in her pants & vest accessorised with a pair of jellies! She really is my Ibiza baby Blush

reastie I got the tights for Anna Grin Not long until school breaks up now.

Had the first of Olivias nativity performances today. It was so funny Wink . Also went to get Annas forms for nursery school in September. Nursery school, nursery school!! when did that happen? She's going to go (fingers crossed) to the same one Olivia did.

OP posts:
americanexpat · 11/12/2013 17:20

Don't be jealous, it's -15C right now. Grin Forecast for tonight is -20C, feeling like -30C with the wind. I'm a heat lover too so Anna and I will winter in Ibiza while you cool off here. Grin

I can't believe our babies children are nearly 3 and old enough for nursery. [weeps]

flusteredmumto2 · 16/12/2013 13:44

To those on facebook I won't be posting this but I've just found out I'm pregnant. I'm freaking out!! I was told after the op the chances of me getting pregnant were very low and DP has a low sperm count plus I was on the pill. I'm not due till august but will mean deferring a year at uni. I don't know how DP feels. He's been very rational and all the pros and cons but there is no way I could do anything about it. I know we're not in the right position for a baby but I'll just have to cope and what he decides to do is up to him. I'm really freaked out.

ReastieYuleANBU · 16/12/2013 14:08

Flustered wow, what a shock! How many weeks are you? Sounds like the pregnancy has happened completely against the odds after all those things against it's favour. I really don't know what to say, other than life throws surprises at you and even though it may not be what was planned, or you may have wanted to happen, doesn't mean it can't be something wonderful that you will adapt around and be thankful for. Must feel such mixed emotions for you though, with the uni course you've worked so hard to get to. Does your DP want children of his own? Was it a plan down the line or is it a complete change of plans?

Busy decorating here. not Christmas decorating but decorating the spare room. Wall paper is off, going to spend the rest of the week preparing the wood work ready for painting.

Potty training commenced. SO far better than expected. Think we've had 2 poo and 2 wee accidents over the week end.

americanexpat · 16/12/2013 14:36

flustered - what a shock. You must be about 4-5 weeks? It's still early days so you don't need to make any long-term decisions yet. I hope your DP decides to be supportive - he sounds like a nice guy in general.

reastie - Envy of potty training. We tried (again) this weekend and L just isn't interested in weeing on the potty. I can take him every 20 minutes and he still has accidents. He's been pooing in the toilet nearly exclusively for the last couple weeks (even at nursery) and he'll usually wee if I ask him to try.

(PS reastie - there's a Boden sale on. I just ordered a top and a jumper for 50% off plus free postage with a coupon code. Xmas Grin)

flusteredmumto2 · 16/12/2013 15:19

It was talked about but not something we wanted till after uni. I'm 5 weeks ish so very early but I feel so sick and tired which is why I took a test. He has a heart condition that may be hereditary so I think that is playing on his mind the most as well as my health as freyas birth was so hard. He may also be in shock and scared, he's never even had a pregnancy scare with any exs. This baby has fought through all the odds to get here and I thought about my options but if I'm truly honest with myself even with all the factors, not keeping it is not an option. Freyas Christmas wish came true. All she asked for was a baby sister. Little moo.

We're potty training too. Freya is so stubborn. Do you guys use pull ups when out the house?

ReastieYuleANBU · 16/12/2013 15:43

american yes, I know! I checked out the boden sale yesterday but sadly funds don't permit any orders :( I did, however, buy a dress and 4 tops for less than £14 including postage from great plains last week in their sale [proud] . I feel a bit meh about buying clothes at the minute as nothing seems to fit me for that long.

flustered that's very sweet re: Freya's wish. american is right in that it's v early and not stressing about long term plans, but I know you must have your brain in overdrive working all this out. FWIW this is only day 3 of potty training, we haven't yet been out of the house! So no pull ups. We did discuss it and are hoping not to, it seems a bit counter productive in my logic (but I'm no expert) but it depends how she gets on I suppose. Pull ups seem a good half way house.

Hoping itsokay might be coming to visit tomorrow [excited]

ILovePonyo · 16/12/2013 20:17

Hi all Smile

Wow flustered that is big news, agree that your dp seems like a decent guy so I'm sure it'll all work out. Must have been a big shock though! Shock

Hope potty training goes well for all trying, I remember chucking away loads of pairs of pants when Anya pooed in them as it was too much hassle washing them!

I'm on my phone so can't remember what else been said sorry, so here's something Anya said earlier - I asked her for one of her biscuits she was given by her friend, she huffed and said "you're such a pain in the bum" ShockConfused

Reastie say hi to itsokay for me!

americanexpat · 17/12/2013 17:55

reastie - £14! Xmas Shock How did you manage that? I find it hard to shop for clothes anyway but I've gained some weight in the last couple months so my clothes don't fit well now either. I've been on My Fitness Pal the last couple of days and I'm trying to rein it in.

Ponyo - pain in the bum. Xmas Grin L does a perfect impression of my disgusted ugh sound and DH's whiny "nevermind". They're little mirrors, aren't they?

flustered - we didn't use pullups at first but we're trying them now. They're easier for him to get off when he needs to use the potty. I sent him off to nursery in one this morning because he didn't want to wear a nappy and I didn't think it was fair to them to put him in pants when he's not using the potty regularly.

ReastieYuleANBU · 17/12/2013 18:01

Ohh american can I friend you on MFP ? I'm reastie1. Ledkr's on there's too. I curtsey to your clothes comment Grin . The dress alone was originally £60 Shock . I got it via a tip on on a style and beauty thread. I checked again last night to see if I could pass on the wisdom to others here after I said about it but the dress had sold out in all buy XS. You're a skinny minnie from your pics on fb Envy

ponyo sadly Itsokay meet up didn't happen today, nearly did but didn't quite due to train probs Sad . Grin to such a pain in the bum.

What sort of things are we getting the babies this year?

Blizy thinking especially of you and Zoe this time of year, must be really tough for you as you can't escape Christmas and festivities anywhere. What are your plans for this year? Are you OK?

ILovePonyo · 17/12/2013 20:18

Oh, reastie please can I follow you on mfp?! Coincidently I've started using it again today, I had delete it from my phone as I had no memory but now I have a fancy new iphone with lots of memory, yay! Is it useful following people/having people you know on it? Might it stop me eating like a pig... Or just not being honest on it ;) shame the meet up didn't happen.

For Xmas we are getting A one of those horrible doll head things so she can do 'hairdressing' with it, she's always doing her toys hair and washing them in the bath plus she has asked for it. then I've got her tat some books, princess stuff and some swimming stick things she's wanted since we went on holiday. My mum is getting her a bike, with a handle on the back so we can hold on haha. Pil are getting her a dolls house.
What about everyone else?

American yes they're definitely little mirrors, sometimes to the side of you you don't want to acknowledge! Like when A says "in a MINUTE" when I ask her to do something, I know for a fact she's got that from me Blush can I friend you on mfp too please? Agree with reastie you look very slim and glam on fb.

God I'm shattered, I can't wait to be at my mums and be lazy over Xmas. Work is super busy and stressful, I finish on fri for a week and a half and I can't wait!
Watching great British crimbo bake off

americanexpat · 17/12/2013 21:05

OK reastie, I've added you as a friend on MFP. [chews nails] You look really fab in your photos!

Ponyo - I wish I was slim and glam. Xmas Blush I put on a old jumper at the weekend and was Xmas Shock when I looked in the mirror. It looked like me in a fat suit honestly. I've probably put on nearly a stone but as I'm short with a small frame, it's not flattering (I have a belly!). I'll send you a message on FB with my username.

We got L a couple books, a wooden train set (from Ikea), a Melissa & Doug lorry with digger, a Curious George magnetic scene tin thingy, and a mini football goal. I still need to get a few bits for his stocking.

ReastieYuleANBU · 17/12/2013 21:07

ponyo erm, no it won't stop you eating like a pig in itself Wink I wish . I'm not on it a huge amount logging stuff every day but I like to have a nose and see what everyone else is up to Blush as it spurs me on to keep going and remind me to work hard. Argh, I ALWAYS wanted a girls world pet head to do hairdressing on, Envy to Anya. I bet Alice I mean me would love one of those. I wouldn't want it staring at me all night in my bedroom though . Oh and I have recorded the bake off, so don't spill any amazing highlights yet Wink

We are getting ALice a toy shop. A lovely plastic tat one with a plastic shopping trolley. It's going to take up the whole room and look awful but she's going to love it. As usual I've gone rather overboard on her presents, I blame the bargain thread! Can't wait for her to open her finger lights.

american someone has friend requested me on mfp and I think it's you so accepted, but please let me know so it isn't a complete random. ponyo yes, hunt me down on there Grin

Alice is going through a very sweet phase of giving me huge hugs and saying things like 'I love you Mummy. You're my best friend' :) I'm loving being on holiday, this morning we spent half an hour in my bed just kicking the duvet over our heads, giggling and repeating endlessly.

ReastieYuleANBU · 17/12/2013 21:09

Xposted american , I'm glad it is you :)

ReastieYuleANBU · 17/12/2013 21:10

Oh, me again, and when I say a toy shop, I mean a shop that's a toy obviously, not an actual toy shop Shock

wigglesrock · 17/12/2013 21:42

reastie I'm most disappointed you haven't actually bought Alice a branch of Toys R Us. Very sweet with Alice. I find it very easy to spend time with Anna now. She's a sketch, very funny but she really would cut her nose off to spite her face Shock. I thought Liv was stubborn!

Anna is getting a doll & a cot that clips on to the side of her bed. This is all I have heard about for the past few months! She's also got some Peppa Pig stuff, a big Lady from Lady & the Tramp & some play food.

The girls are finishing half day on Monday, but now that their plays are over, its really wind down time. I'm sending in their "teacher presents" tomorrow - that always makes me feel Christmassy Smile

flustered must have been a bit of a shock Smile - hope all goes well.

It's Mr Ws birthday tomorrow, so off to find some wrapping paper to wrap his very exciting birthday presents Hmm He'll be 42, I remember his 19th birthday Confused . I can't decide if I feel really happy or really old Grin

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 17/12/2013 22:08

Massive awwwww at Alice reastie, that is so lovely :)

I can't figure out how to find you both on mfp, I can't see a search button, but I'm ILovePonyo if you want to look for me.

American I refuse to believe the fat suit comment :)

Wiggles Grin at happy or old. Happy birthday to mr W

Grannyapple · 17/12/2013 22:32

Hullo ladies! Finally feeling a bit organised for crimbo...off to Nate's Christmas carol concert at nursery...& taking his nursery teachers their gifts tomorrow you.

flustered hope things are becoming clear for you with your news...I can only imagine how much of a shock it must be to find out!

reastie we're getting lots of I love you'd & if you kids him twice you're his best friend . I'm now wondering if he kisses lots of girls at nursery as he only ever talks about 2 girls in particular .

wiggs ha ha I've been with DH since I was 19...we celebrate 19 yrs together this Xmas eve..I'm same as you in trying to decide if I feel old or not due to that !

american & ledkr hope you're both well.

Off to try to get some kip...madam was awake 2 hrly then half hrly between 3 & 5.30am...between that & DH coughing away, not much sleep was had. Think he might be sleeping in Nate's room tonight as he doesn't appear to get disturbed by it at all...

american I also refuse to believe the fat suit comment but I completely understand the 'who ate Monica' feeling, it's miserable.

wiggles happy birthday MrW. You can be old AND happy you know Wink

granny I was really aawwwwww at the 'you're my best friend' comment the first time she made it, until she went over the DH and said exactly the same thing (how can you have 2 best friends in the whole wide world). Hope you got some sleep

Flustered how are things?
