flustered great news xxx You're doing a great job Smile

Reastie Smile at Alice saying darling. Anna said "Christ" today when she stubbed her toe Blush. Not quite as sweet Wink

ledkr big hugs for Dilly, she'll be grand - running rings round everyone as usual x

I saw two Christmas trees up around us today Shock

My aunt took all 3 girls to Disney On Ice today. They loved it especially Anna, although I think she may have had to be restrained from joining in with the Tangled ensemble !

Hi wiggs.
Just git back from the pil and they weren't too bad Confused me and Ella had a day clothes Xmas shopping with lunch and cinema after, it was lovely.
I find I can cope better if I do something so I feel I've had a weekend.
Nobody will ever convince me it's great to sleep at other people's houses though.
No tv in bed, d woke at 6 then wouldn't go back off so mil got up with her but I couldn't go back off to sleep as my back ached from unfamiliar bed.
I'm shattered now, having a bath then Chinese and homeland.

Reastie · 17/11/2013 21:07

Ledkr no I think stay at home! Glad you survived had a nice trip whilst at PILs. Forgot to mention before Blush Blush hope you're doing OK re: hearing aids. Do they think she will have to wear them indefinitely or is it something they try and she grows out of (excuse my naivety, I have no idea).

Off to a mn local meet tomorrow, we meet every week now, it's nice to have a local group of Mums and their DC to go to places with I sound like billy no mates don't I

Only 2 weeks and we are off for father christmas visit number one I'm Alice is so excited. Did I say we met 2 teenage mutant ninga turtles in john lewis last week end completely by accident? Alice got hit around the face by accident by Donnatello (or however you spell it) but it didn't put her off, she was following them around and hugging them and very excited by it all. We are hoping to go and meet the gruffallo later this week so fingers crossed she likes him as much.

wiggles bet the girls loved disney on ice, I know Alice would. Never too early for a christmas tree (OK.....maybe it is....). They were playing christmas music in debenhams today and even for me it felt a bit wrong. It still made me get a little excited though!

flusteredmumto2 · 17/11/2013 22:04

Thanks wiggs and reastie. UCAS goes off next week. Hopefully I'll hear about interviews and provisional offers after Xmas. Never thought I'd enjoy studying as much as I am. I was on a thread about a girl being denied her uni application and it really scared me. I won't stop though until I get there. Tom is really enjoying that his mummy is going to school too. I can't believe he's 5 next week. He's such a trooper he no longer asks about his dad which is sad but I don't blame him. I never know what to say so in a way I'm glad he doesn't.

Xmas this year is going to be very simple. Money is extremely tight so am not going big. I haven't even started xmas shopping as just haven't had the money. This year theres lots of token presents of homemade turkish delight, fudge and truffles. Dp isn't back after next weekend till the 20th dec so will probably wait till then to take them to see father Christmas. It will be the longest we've spent apart since we got together. 6 months and still going strong I'm very lucky. I'm spending new years in bristol as my mum has offered to have the dcs for a couple of days. I'm looking forward to dancing the new year in :-)

blizy · 17/11/2013 22:20

Flustered, you are doing brilliantly and so deserve the Christmas nomination ( I was nominated too, it made me cry as well ).

Ledkr, I'm sorry dilly has to have hearing aids but I'm sure she won't even notice.

Granny/reastie no point in waving to me as I'm in sunny Tenerife! A wee weeks holiday with the husband to celebrate our 2nd anniversary! (And it's magic time iykwim!) a wee holiday baby would be amazing! Right I better go, I'm getting funny looks from the husband Grin

Ledkr · 17/11/2013 22:45

Fingers crossed blizy

americanexpat · 21/11/2013 15:25

blizy - hope you're enjoying your holiday. [wink wink nudge nudge] Grin

flustered - you're doing brilliantly, and you definitely deserve being nominated.

We were off for a visit to MIL, SFIL and GMIL last week. They live in the desert (near Las Vegas) so the weather was fab - we left the airport here and L kept repeating, "It's cold, it's cold." Grin MIL is lovely but the other two make me homicidal so I'm happy to be home. We set up Skype on MILs computer so she can talk to L more often.

Next Thursday is Thanksgiving so we're going to my parents for a long weekend. We've agreed to adopt a "stray" cat (I think it's a lost pet and have asked her to try to find the owner first) that turned up at my sister's friend's house so we'll be collecting him then too. We already have two cats that have been together since birth so I'm not sure how they'll react.

flusteredmumto2 · 26/11/2013 22:35

I got into uni!!!! I only applied yesterday and I heard back from them all today offering me places. I'm in shock. Here comes the arduous process of trying to decide where to go. I'm still in shock I have been accepted to study criminology and sociology at Birmingham and Bristol and criminology, social policy and sociology or criminology, sociology and criminal justice at wolverhampton.

ILovePonyo · 27/11/2013 11:18

Hi all :) posting quickly on my (early) lunch break today.

For those not on Facebook (ledkr!) we have successfully done the dummy fairy, it has resulted in a couple of nights broken sleep so I'm a bit tired but well worth it. A triumphantly announced to her key worker at nursery in a big loud voice that she "is a big girl so doesn't have a dummy anymore" right in front of a little boy with a dummy and his mum Blush thankfully the mum was nice and didn't give me an evil look haha.

Otherwise all is well, we seem to be going to children's parties every weekend at the moment, I have no idea how those of you with more than 1 child do it!

flustered fab news! well done you. I did sociology at Uni and really enjoyed it. I preferred the more 'modern' stuff than the classical stuff (because I didn't understand that!) Where are you thinking of going?

american happy thanksgiving! Hope your cats get on ok. My old cat who died recently never got on with our kittens when we got them, she was always hissing at them grumpy old thing.

blizy how was your hols? Hope you enjoyed it (why wouldn't you have?!)

reastie how was your meet up last week? Loved the pics of A with the turtles and the gruffalo. Love that A says darling, A sometimes says it too but not to me or dp, to her toys when she is playing with them "it's ok my darling" etc, it's weird Grin

wiggles I have booked disney on ice tickets for March for A's birthday! Hope she likes it. Because it was just after payday I booked front row ones too, I'm sure dp will appreciate that haha.

ledkr I'm sure D will do really well with the hearing aids too. We had pil visit recently which was ok too. They bough A some boots and clothes which was be generous of them.

Better go and do some work! :)

Grannyapple · 01/12/2013 06:21

Quick post as I can't sleep but huge congrats flustered...well done you!!

Reastie · 01/12/2013 06:49

Hello hello can't get that blasted song out of my head

flustered that is fabulous news, you must be so pleased and proud. Do you have a long term career aim/goal? I'm in awe of you as must have been so difficult to study with everything you've had going on.

american hope you enjoyed thanksgiving. How are the cats doing?

ponyo re: the comment with the dummy to the little boy, I bet the mother didn't mind. I know if a child said anything like that to Alice about, say, wearing a nappy still, it wouldn't bother me. Mn meet up was good thanks, they're a lovely bunch of Mums and the group seems tp be growing every week :) We are off to soft play tomorrow and then have a christmas party next week (for the children, not the adults sadly )

blizy hope you had a fab fab holibobs.

Feeling very festive. The christmas tree is up, elf on the shelf is waiting for Alice when she wakes up, off to visit FC later today. Ahhh, December has started. Works christmas do on Friday which was actually great fun. They had a disco and I danced the night away. I haven't actually danced at a disco in about 15 years Shock I'm the one sitting on the side wishing I could dance but feeling like I'd make a fool of myself. I think having Alice I've lost my shame Blush as I didn't care. First evening out since before I was pregnant. Might have to repeat it Wink

wigglesrock · 01/12/2013 07:25

flustered brilliant news Smile

reastie glad you enjoyed your night out, trust you found something to wear Smile

ponyo front row tickets Shock , the girls sat on the ice last year - they loved it! Buy your tat before you get there Wink I don't know how my aunt did it with the 3 of them. I think the shop cost her more than the tickets! Great news that A settled so well dummyless.

I can't believe it's December, I seem to have lost 2 weeks in November. I was talking to a friend yesterday & realised I hadn't seen her in over a month! The countdown to Christmas had begun in earnest now - school Christmas bazaar today, taking Anna & Emma to see Santa tomorrow, Christmas hair cut this week, & parent/ teacher meeting on Friday Shock . Olivias teacher makes me slightly nervous, she always looks at me in a slightly puzzled way when she sees me trying to wrestle Anna out of the mud whilst bribing her with Haribo when picking Olivia up.

Ponyo I remember when Sofia was about 5, she had 4 parties over 1 weekend Shock Envy

A group of us were supposed to go out last night, Mr W had to work & I wasn't that bothered so I didn't go, but Howard from Take That was sitting at the next table to them. If I see one more fuckin' smug FB photo Grin .

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 01/12/2013 07:40

blizy both the holiday & you looked fab in the photos Smile

OP posts:
Reastie · 01/12/2013 07:56

wiggles howard from take that? just typical the time you didn't go. I actually don't think I would be able to resist not going over to say hello Blush .

wigglesrock · 01/12/2013 08:18

reastie they didn't resist Smile - it's a few mums from Sofias class. We realised last year that we'd spent 4 years moaning at the school gates how we never went anywhere. So we go out for something to eat & a dance every few months. To be honest its all about alcohol & dancing Smile

I feel quite sorry for Howard - he thought he was having a bite to eat & was sat beside 9 very excited woman. He looks fab in the photos & smells divine according to my friend who nabbed him!

OP posts:
Reastie · 01/12/2013 08:27

wiggles tis the price of fame though. He wanted to be famous, he has to live with excitable women wanting to say hello. Must be tres annoying for him wanting to have a meal out, but it's part of the job I reckon. He could always swear and say no (like John Lennon did to my uncle ).

ILovePonyo · 01/12/2013 20:44

Haha reastie I like your harsh but fair take on fame and celeb life! (I agree). Glad you enjoyed your Xmas do, go you dancing queen! I am not very good at social occasions especially with lots of people so am avoiding our work evening do, but am going on a smaller day time one. I feel brave doing that! Plus I don't dance unless hammered tipsy Wink

wiggles ah god! I hadn't thought of the amount of tat I'll have to buy at disney on ice Hmm lovely pics of your girls on Facebook today :)

A has enjoyed her party, but i swear she is OBSESSED with her own birthday. She tells anyone who'll listen "after Xmas it's MYYYYYY birthday" and told me about 5 times today "when it's my birthday I will have a cake. And oli can't blow out my candles. Because I will be sad. Only I can blow out my candles" Hmm Hmm poor oli is a boy at nursery who I doubt would try and blow out the bloody candles anyway!

Also, she had a little boy trying to give her a brownie at the party a bit forcefully, she got upset so I said "just say no thank you" which she did but he carried on, then he pulled her hair whilst his mum was sat on her phone, I felt bad for A because she did what I told her but maybe I should have stepped in? I did after the hair pulling obvs. I am starting to get annoyed with lax parents! Haha. Says me after letting A and her pal run about in a shopping centre yesterday and they knocked over a massive cardboard david hasselhoff Grin

Reastie · 01/12/2013 20:51

ponyo huge Grin to David Hasslehoff comment. Really made me chuckle. I'm now trying to work out which shop you might have been in to have that in it Hmm

debka · 01/12/2013 20:56

Hellooooo everyone!!!

It's been forever since I've been on- I am sorry! I feel like I've kept up with some of you on FB, and have bumped into a few on here but promised our reastie I would pop on and say hello!

Life is busy atm, I'm working FT now which I enjoy in the main, and actually feel like a better parent this way Blush. I'm also applying to uni next year- hopefully April to start but if not then, September. I'm applying to do Adult Nursing and it is ALL I think about. All I do is work and study and bore people about my personal statement!

Girls are good, Imogen started school in September and loves it, she's settled in so well. Sabine is such a sweetheart still, although she's getting a bit terrible 2-ish now. She's in pre school one day a week and loves it.

I'd like to try and stay on the thread a bit more, have missed you all and think of our LOs all growing up together. And blizy I always remember Zoe of course, we light a candle for her every now and then Thanks.

Love to you all xxxxxxx

ILovePonyo · 01/12/2013 20:58

Grin I thought it was hilarious, other people didn't Grin
It was for a panto the hoff is in reastie so you can rest your brain ;)

ILovePonyo · 01/12/2013 21:01

Hiiiiii deb! lovely to hear from you. Very exciting news re job and Uni, so impressed. I know what you mean about working full time, I feel like I make more effort with A when I'm with her because I'm at work all week. Plus I could NOT be a stay at home parent! I'd be crap! Anyway, glad to hear all is well. Come back soon!

debka · 01/12/2013 21:02

OMG just read back a bit and saw flustered about your op- lots and lots of Thanks to you and fx all is well, cancer is an utter utter bastard. Hope you are recovering well xxxx

ledkr you are a sweet thing asking after me, thank you :) I wonder if Dilly's, erm, stubbornness could have been down to not hearing everything?

debka · 01/12/2013 21:02

I also thought the Hoff debacle was hilarious Wink

americanexpat · 02/12/2013 16:19

flustered - massive congrats! You must be feeling so proud of yourself.

deb - lovely to hear from you. I also think I'm a better parent when I'm working. Blush L knows how to push my buttons and I get very short-tempered with him. I just spent 4 days at my parents' house on my own with him and I just need a break now.

reastie - we only just brought the cat home last night and he's isolated in the spare bedroom for a few days because he's on antibiotics. Our cats can hear and smell him and they're really not impressed, they keep hissing at each other and the bedroom door. He's a really lovely cat (looks to be part Ragdoll), loves to be petted and doesn't mind L. He's very skinny though so we're feeding him up. I'll post a photo on Facebook when he's out and about with the others. Grin

L and I had a lovely Thanksgiving with my family (DH stayed home to work). He didn't have the time of day for me with grandma around though. Hmm I'm away for work this week until Friday so I'm going to try to relax a bit and enjoy the quiet. I did get a bit emotional leaving L at nursery this morning though. Blush

Ledkr · 05/12/2013 20:26

Hi all. How you are all well, I'm just making sure you are on my threads I'm on list to post later
