Thinking of you angelico xxx Thanks

dosomethingmutley · 05/03/2013 16:52

Hugs Angelico, I too have been there. I am so glad you and the bean had the opportunity to get there to say your goodbyes - it can be incredibly upsetting but I remain convinced that it is one of the most important and selfless things you can do for someone you love, to be there for them (however briefly) in the last hours of their life. Thinking of you Thanks

Thinking of you Angelico so sorry to hear that news. Flowers

crazypaving · 05/03/2013 19:43

So sorry to hear your news Angelico. It's so hard when people die in such circumstances. It sounds like you've had a wonderful relationship; I hope that soon the memories bring you comfort. Thinking of you.

hufflepuffle · 05/03/2013 19:44

Sorry to read your news Angelico. You all have a tough few days ahead. Glad you have your little sunny bean to comfort you and make everyone smile. Sounds like your uncle was very lucky to have had you. Take care of yourself. X x

Jess sat unassisted today for several minutes (before falling headfirst onto the bed, bless her).

She is almost the oldest in this group so no one start comparing!

Quite a milestone. She did the sitting 6 or 7 times today, including one for her dad.

She also strokes the cats and laughs happily when they turn to nuzzle her.

My little baby is growing up. :)

horseylady · 05/03/2013 19:53

angelico so sorry.

squid fab news!!! How old is Jess? Almost ready for weaning soon?!

squidkid · 05/03/2013 19:57

Jess is 6 months at the end of this month. She was born 30 September and due date was 25 September so I was slightly illegally on this group! She is certainly interested in my food and grabs for it sometimes. Easter weekend I might see if she fancies a bit of something I'm eating... in no rush though, just thoroughly enjoying seeing the development (it definitely makes the growth spurts more bearable!)

angelico thinking of you, take comfort in your dd and memories of your much loved uncle.

squid well done Jess! The cat comments made me smile nostalgically, ds1 did this too but ds2 doesn't seem to give a monkeys about the cat, much more captivated by his big bro.

Elpis · 05/03/2013 21:12

What does 'finish feeds' mean? Finish a bottle? If asked I'd have to say that DS never finishes a feed, just unlatches or dozes off. I guess it's different with ff.

Elpis · 05/03/2013 21:17

Thinking of you, Angelico. I hope the funeral gives your aunt the chance to remember how loved your uncle was. Thanks

londonlivvy · 05/03/2013 21:22

So sorry to hear of your uncle's passing, Angelico. Hugs and cups of tea.

Envy of these sitting babies! We are following natural movement theory (not total purists though!) so probably won't get any sitting for another 2-3 months when she can get into the sitting position by herself. Although DD LOVES to sit up in our laps so is hard not to give in a bit Grin

Was lying under a tree with DD enjoying the sun (sorry) and eating an apple yesterday and she was getting very grumpy and waving her hands around for my apple... I gave it to her and she covered it in slobber sucked and gummed it like it was the best thing ever! (I made sure there were no chunks she could choke on first!) However, we did pay for it with excessive spewing and grizzles for the rest of the day (fellow reflux beans... avoid apples for a while yet!) Was quite fun though, sharing food with her. I'm sure I won't be saying that when she's stealing everything from my plate!

Is anyone else finding their baby is loosing interest in milk at all? DD has definitely cut her feeds back, and I sometimes think she would happily suck her thumb all day and not feed for 6 hrs or more. I replace thumb with boob every 4 hrs, but still get rejected (quite angrily too!) a lot. I'm probably just Sad my baby's growing up already. I have read in breastfeeding books/advice that babies thumb suck because they don't get enough opportunity to comfort suck on mum, which also made me feel Sad although the logical (pre baby) part of my brain says it's crap cos DD was pretty much permanently attached for the first 12 weeks Hmm

cherry how long till you head back to the UK with DS?

first 100 viruses a year Shock Shock Why isn't that in the 'so you want to have a baby...' section of any book!

oren Grin at reading 4 books at once... I do that too, drives DH nuts with books everywhere!

CWest30 · 06/03/2013 05:04

Gah, so far tonight my perfect sleeper woke up an hr after I went to bed at 12:15, 1:05, and just now at 4:40 :(

Hope she's not getting ill. DS had temp and sore throat end of last wk, and has just had 2 days off school as he broke out in a few spots and school refused to take him unless a Dr confirmed it wasn't anything contagious. On Monday I couldn't get him seen until 3:25 pm so he had day off, and Dr wasn't sure what it was so said to keep him off and see what happens. Well the spots are going so he's going back to school!

On the upside spent a lovely hr in the sunny garden yesterday afternoon, our first ever (recently moved from a 2 bed flat so no garden) DD fell asleep in her buggy, I tidied up a bit, then taught DS hopscotch. DD woke up so we walked to the park and she had her first ever go on the swings! Will upload pic to fb group.

Naomi just over 5 mths (adjusted age coming up to 4 mths, and showing no interest in food, but does hold head up well. Still not even attempting to roll over, and now holds toys for a little while.

Well she's gone back off so going to see if I can get a bit more sleep. Night!

Beeblebear · 06/03/2013 06:39

Angelico - sending you and your family BIG BIG BIG hugs! and Thanks. So sorry to hear about your uncle. It's so hard to watch a loved one go.
