Hello, October Mamas!
Make yourself comfortable!

The same was true for me when I was little Snowbusiness. My sister used to not go to sleep until about midnight. She was perfectly well behaved but her circadian rhythm was suited to sleeping late and getting up late. So she kept me, a sleep monster, up. My mum moved all the dining room furniture into the sitting room and my bed etc was moved to the dining room which worked perfectly. Are there enough rooms in your house or is the layout workable for re/roleing an oom to be an option?

DD is being a little cutie in nursery. She was discovered slow dancing with a little boy to music earlier. They were holding hands and swaying to the music Smile.

Dd3 is just mastering the Hokey Cokey!

Had the veggie haggis tonight , was yum. Dd3 devoured loads and she's not normally up for veggie meals.

It is good isn't it. DD currently has a thing for vegan frankfurters but won't eat the skin which is barely a skin and makes dissecting them a tad fiddly.

Ooh, maybe you'll all turn vegan! :)

I got the vegan society stand at the NEC hospitality show all excited when I went to see them on Wednesday. They thought it was exciting given who I work for and was representing, but I went for my own selfish reasons and picked up an animal free directory. They were all lovely. Me and my colleague are looking at getting the students to tackle different dietary requirements and actually be challenged to cook things like a 3 course vegan meal or buffet. At the moment they are taught about different diets and religious requirements but its all theory and no practise until they get confronted with it when they begin to work for real. We're also getting them to understand exactly where the food comes from and the process to get it to their kitchen through visits. It's working well so far.

What exactly is your job, or are you not allowed to say?

Is everyone else eating more in this cold snap? I just seem to have lost the brakes in the evenings a bit once the kids are asleep! It could be the fact that since Christmas and DS's birthday there's been lots of stuff hanging around which I'm working my way through but I'm getting a bit worried. It's not too excessive but I have just had two different types of cake (in a tin since the party...) after having a few nuts and Pombears (party, honest) with my Wine. I do always give up chocolate, cakes crisps and sweets (not that I eat them now but I still include them in the list) in a hangover from my Catholic childhood during lent and I have to say I'm really looking forward to it now. I find it a good period of time and the right time of year. It's my birthday in two days as well so I'm still in celebration (? Hmm Grin) mode.

Ooh, I've just noticed the Scottish smileys [bsmile] [bgrin]. Happy Burns Night. It's also the Welsh equivalent of Valentines, St Dwynwen's Day, so Dydd Gwyl Dwynwen Hapus to you all too. Have a Welsh snog with your OH if you can (sorry Spectres if yours is away).

No, mine's here! Lent is a useful time of year! Apparently many religios food laws originated out of common sense.
Lentil, I run the school of catering for my service, so we train chefs and stewards.

:) Wow, well done indeed! I think mine is hopefully obviously me, lentil-weaving hippy that I am! Plus I have a public profile.

Hi, Trib, how are you?

I'm cutting back a bit on my online time, btw, but not giving up on this thread completely. Just can't post as much, DS is soooooo busy!

Well I suppose it would have been a miracle for me not to have caught the same cold and cough that DD and DH both have. Great to feel rubbish for the start of the week!

Hello everyone! Have just been catching up with what you are all doing thanks to Lentil who reminded me that the thread existed. Its lovely reading about what everyones DD/DS's have been up to - we are potty training here and its going fairly well. Luckily we dont have carpets downstairs so messes are easily solved! Was feeling bad on the weekend that DD is still in a cotbed with the sides up but she cant escape yet and after reading that other peoples LO's are still in cots, I feel much relieved! Special hello to floozie too - I remember that our DS's were in SCBU together.
