Ahh congrats ood. Lovely name. Hope you are doing well. He will be spoilt by his big sisters!!

Thanks for the congrats. To be honest, despite the fact we were ttc for ages, I have been struggling to get my head around it and there have been lots of tears! Hoping it's just my hormones and I'll be more positive soon

LentilAsAnything · 08/03/2013 20:11

I am sure it is just hormones, more emotional, and just thrilled to be pg.

Congrats Trib. I saw your FB posts about ds2 and the night feeding!

Congrats Ood! It's a BOY! For some reason I thought you were having a dd4, so that was a surprise. Watch for the projectile wees when you take the nappy off Wink.

Congrats B(F)P! Hope it all goes well. I remember despite ttcing for three years before I got pg with ds I went into a mini catatonia about two weeks after I found out - it passed.

Ds is having his first sleepover tonight here. Two of his friends are staying. Oh dear god. I think they are still awake. Dd didn't sleep till nearly 9.30. Had to remove ds and he's now asleep in the attic. It's hard to know how annoyed you are allowed to get with five-year-olds who are not your own. Both parents (who are my friends) assured me they would go off to sleep easily.... HA! To be fair, one of them usually is a good sleeper, but I guess the excitement of a new place to sleep is a bit much. They haven't left the room for 15 minutes and I have finally started drinking, so here's hoping they will go down.

Wow! Things have moved on! Congratulations on your boys Trib and Ood! I bet it was worth the wait. Great names too Smile.

Congratulations with the BFP BP!

Well done with the sleepover Snowbusiness. Sounded like quite the marathon.

We're having a lovely weekend despite the foul weather and DD is in the middle of a toast and marmite frenzy...bluerghhh.

Thanks everyone :)

snow brave you with sleepovers , dd1s are ok now she's a teen but had some bad ones with 7-8 year olds

Ood I think dp is of the opinion that ds will be a teenager before he has another one Wink Grin.

Oodsigma · 10/03/2013 10:37

That sounds good to me!

Dd2s awful one was with 2 girls whose Mums were good friends of mine so I could tell them about their behaviour, that helped Grin

Where are you all?? Oh yes - having babies! Hope it's going well Ood and Trib, and busy, hope you are feeling well. I was ill all last week but back to work today.

How many of your dcs are potty trained? Dd does all her poos on the toilet or potty now and quite a lot of sees but I can't quite bring myself to ditch the nappies. I bought her some pants the other fay and she has worn them for a short period of time but I was waiting for warmer weather to go for it. Waiting...waiting...waiting...

Oodsigma · 18/03/2013 23:18

Dd3 has been trained a while but has had a lot of accidents in the last week. She is v emotional at the moment. Fine with ds but more anxious about me :(

Glad you are better, Snow.
DS has been using the potty for quite a long time, but is not keen on the big toilet. We go out to the park nappy-free as it is close enough to home for him to tell me he needs to go and we can get back, or to friends' houses where I take the potty, but I put him in a nappy for his classes as even when he's told me he needs to go, and we go to the restroom, he refuses to go on it. I thought about taking a jar out with me, for him to pee in. Is that a stupid idea? It's never poos, he is very controlled and regular, and likes to poo at home! :) He did sit on the toilet at home last week for his longest stint yet, so hopefully we are close!

I think the jar idea is good! Although, have you read The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid? Hilarious, especially wrt the pee jar!

DD was trained at 18 months but then like Lentil's DS took an aversion to the big loo, then this transferred to the potty, then she started withholding poos, so I stopped and she's back in nappies and happy. We'll go for it again when she's ready.

hello, I haven't been here for ages! I am confused as to who is who! athough I think I know who letnil is Grin

have been busy with work, most evenings I seem to have to do work as soon as DS is in bed (on the plus side I build up lots of time off in lieu to spend with DS though!). Hoping it will calm down a bit when our new recruits arrive in a month!

I just went hunting for you all on the ante natal threads Blush , I trawled through pages and pages before I clicked that I should be in post natal!

am back on mumsnet again as have just found out I'm expecting number two Smile. Its very early days (just 5 weeks) but I feel very happy. but a bit nervous about whether I will get hyperemesis again.

I will try and read more and catch up more soon

TiredFeet · 20/03/2013 22:29

re potty training, I was thinking of starting training DS about now. I think he would have been ready sooner and he does use it a bit if we're at home, but I wanted to wait until after our holiday in january (I thought luxury chalet and over excited and barely potty trained toddler were a bad combination). Not sure potty training and hyperemesis would be a good mix though so may hold off a few weeks until I know if its going to hit me... or I could just get DH to do it all while I lie on my sick bed

Lentil = vegan= abfab
Spectres= elsa123=pancakes
No business=Floozie
Ood= HJ
Trib=Hermya

I just cut and pasted that from above, with a couple of additions.

Why am I so obvious! Grina

Welcome back, tf! Great to have you here! Tell us everything!!! Huge congratulations on baby number two. November? BusyProcrastinating is also due her second in November. Baby brain must be to blame for you searching the AN threads for us. :)

pancakes, have never heard of the Thunderbolt Kid. Will check it out. Maybe the jar is a goer then. I don't blame DS for not wanting to use public toilets. Neither do I!

Hi Tired and congratulations. Fingers crossed you avoid the hyperemesis. I found constant nausea bad enough, so can't imagine what severe vomiting must be like to cope with. I didn't know Shieldbug had had another. Is that her third?

Hope you all have a lovely Easter if I'm not back on before.

Morning all. Have packed DD off to nursery so I can pack and sort the house out ready for driving oop Norf for Easter. I am exhausted. Eating healthily as well. I think I just need a break. So does DD. she's been finding full time nursery a bit too much for the last couple of weeks Sad. I hope you all have a great Easter and lots of baby and toddler (as applicable) cuddles. Xx

TiredFeet · 28/03/2013 13:47

hope you have a lovely break pancakes and that you and DD both finish it feeling less exhausted.

we are also heading north tonight, I haven't started packing or sorting yet though. I took DS out and about all morning to wear him out and now I am so worn out I can't face it! You were far more sensible sending your dd to nursery, I wish I had done the same now!

[busmile] Happy Easter Egg Day [busmile]

Hope you are having a nice break, panc and tf. Well, everyone!

Germany is ok, much the same as the UK. We will have been here a year in a few days, it has gone super fast. It was snowing today, woo hoo. A snowy Easter. Weird!

Hope you're all having nice nice trips away/Easters at home.

lentil does Germany feel like home yet?

Report
LentilAsAnything · 31/03/2013 21:36

Yes and no. I do feel 'at home' wherever I am, as long as I am with DH and DS, and I believe home is where the heart is , but it is quite hard to feel 100% comfortable here with not knowing the language. Simple things like struggling to be understood in shops, and not understanding local TV. But in most other ways, it isn't that different being here than it would be in a similar sized city in the UK. I miss shops being open on a Sunday, and a few food items, but mostly, things are fine.
Plus with us knowing we are not staying here long-term makes us not put down roots.
